Survivor Preview

Survivor 25 – Philippines – Preview – by MelTheHound

Survivor Cast Phillipines

Get ready kids, it’s coming. Survivor premiers Wednesday September 19, 2012. It’s a 90 minute episode so make sure your DVRs will hold it if like me, you watch after the normal air time (I don’t watch anything in real time). This season is billed as Second Chance as there will be 3 returning members from past seasons. These returning members are some of those who have been evacuated from the game for medical reasons. When I first heard that, I was askeered that everyone’s favorite to hate, Colton, would be returning as he was taken away about half way through last season (Survivor One World) with a flare up of appendicitis. I’m not going into why I was happy he was gone and even more happy he won’t be returning.

I am not what you would call a superfan who has seen all of these shows. The first time I tried to watch any of season one, there was Richard Hatch running around nekid and I decided this wasn’t for me. I started watching a couple of seasons ago when they brought back Coach (Benjamin) and Ozzy. I don’t know about you all but I really dislike when they recycle these reality game show players. Not because they can’t play the game but because they come in as lord and master of the house and that’s the way everyone treats them on the show. It’s as if they are given a second chance to play the game with an almost guaranteed win. Think Brenchel returning to Big Brother last summer. They were also on The Amazing Race but I didn’t find them nearly as annoying as I did on Big Brother.

Last season it was Men vs Women until the reshuffle followed by the merge. Or so the men thought. It was always Men vs Women and I have to give it up to the ladies, they played the men masterfully, especially the winner, Kim. At first the women couldn’t get a win to save their lives but as we all saw, as the men began thinking with the wrong one, the women began to win the game and the momentum never really shifted back to the men. Until the merge, there were always two tribes but before then, they were shuffled into two coed teams. Just before then the men made one of their fatal mistakes by agreeing to give up team immunity so they could get rid of one of the one’s Colton hated the most – Bill. The men on the island never really recovered from that as it gave the women a numbers advantage and from there, the women just picked the men off one by one.

This season, there are three tribes. The information below was borrowed from SurvivorFandom.com though I’m certain it’s the same info on the CBS Website (which SUXXXX). You may see a name or two you recognize on these lists. The most notable to me, Lisa Whelchel, Once known as Blair on the TV show, Facts Of Life. Since then for the most part, she’s been a mom and working for her church (or with or dedicated to it, whichever you prefer). Note that she is not the oldest one of the bunch but I don’t think she lasts very long. Just a gut feeling.

Kalabaw (Water Buffalo) Tribe

  • Sarah Dawson, 28, Silver Spring, Maryland, insurance salesperson
  • Katie Hanson, 22, Newark, Delaware, 2011 Miss Delaware
  • Jeff Kent, 44, Austin, Texas, former Major League Baseball All Star
  • Dana Lambert, 32, Winston-Salem, North Carolina, cosmetologist
  • Carter Williams, 24, Shawnee, Kansas, coach

Matsing (Monkey) Tribe

  • Malcolm Freberg, 25, Hermosa Beach, California, bartender
  • Zane Knight, 28, Danville, Virginia, tire repairman
  • Angie Layton, 20, Provo, Utah, model and former Miss Utah Teen USA
  • Roxanne “Roxy” Morris, 28, Brooklyn, seminary student
  • Denise Stapley, 41, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, therapist

Tandang (Rooster) Tribe

  • Abi-Maria Gomes, 32, Los Angeles, student
  • Roberta “RC” Saint-Amour, 27, New York, banker
  • Artis Silvester, 53, Terry Town, Louisiana, computer engineer
  • Lisa Whelchel, 49, Dallas, former star TV’s “The Facts of Life”
  • Peter “Pete” Yurkowski, 24, Holmdel, New Jersey, engineering graduate

There are also, as mentioned, 3 people returning from past seasons. They are:

The final three castaways for Survivor 2012 have been confirmed. Michael Skupin, Jonathan Penner and Russell Swan. Before the CBS website crapped out on me, Michael is the only one I could get any locale info on. He’s from White Lake, Michigan which isn’t too far from where I live. Not that it matters any, just thought you might find it a little interesting. Here’s another C&P from the Survivor Fandom website (which again, I think came from CBS):

Michael, Jonathan and Russell were all taken out of the Survivor game for medical reasons and have been given a second chance. Michael show’s first medical evacuation ever in Survivor: Australian OutbackJonathan’s return will be his third time playing the game. His last attempt ended in injury during the Micronesia season. Russell was removed from Survivor: Samoa for severe dehydration.

Buckle up, I get the feeling these are going to be a couple bumpy rides with all the backstabbing and strategerizing that goes on. For right now that’s about all I have for you folks. I’m sure I’ll be back shortly with a similar preview of The Amazing Race.

Til then, Peace.

The Maloof brothers – minus their sister

““The show is in the works and it will focus on Adrienne and her brothers and the Maloof family businesses. The show is in the early planning stages but it will be a competition-style reality show based around family businesses,” the source says.”

Another Tidbit from Radar Online

http://www.radaronline.com/exclusives/2012/08/aviva-dresher-sonja-morgan-feud-avoids-event

Radar Online is reporting that Aviva and Reid Drescher attended the 13th annual US Open BNP Paribas Taste of Tennis party at the W New York Hotel last night in NYC.  According to the report, Sonja Morgan was also expected to attend, but was a no-show.  Aviva wisecracked to Fox News Correspondent, Tom Murro, that Sonja is afraid to be in the same room with her.

Yeah, I’m kind of a badass

Sounds like fighting words, eh?  What’s up w/Ms. Aviva, anyway?  Why is she itching for a fight all of a sudden with these ladies?  Is she showing her true colors or dishing it out to ensure her spot on the show for next season?

Alexis says she’ll come back if they let her have a friend on the show

http://thyblackman.com/2012/08/24/real-housewives-of-orange-county-alexis-bellino-still-bossy/

A little bit of the article:  “If I do the show again, I would have to have a friend on the show with me,” Real Housewives of Orange County Alexis Bellino tells Celebuzz. “Who wants to go into a pack of wolves and not have anyone with her? I would definitely want to have a friend.”

The producers have been searching for another wife and while there were rumors that Real Housewives of Orange County Alexis Bellino wouldn’t be brought back, she insists that they have called her and requested she return.

“I think we have a really good season and it was a really good cast,” she says. “But, I feel like it doesn’t have to be so hateful and mean all the time. We could still have a really good season, just not being so mean.”

Beverly Hills Nannies – Episode 6 – Nannies Need Love Too by Potamus

(Note – this is last week’s recap – this week coming soon)

Head-nanny Kristin and Cindy Margolis

Cindy Margolis is getting her hair and make-up done and we’re supposed to believe that she has that done every day just to stay home. I’m sure it has nothing to do with the fact that she’s on a reality-TV show! Cindy gives Kristin a turn in the make-up chair and decides to set Kristin up on a date.

The date is with a model/wrestler named Marcus. Kristin says the minute he opened his mouth, she knew it wasn’t going to happen. He tells her he’s ten years older but she thinks he’s lying – he seems much older. Kristin then finds out Marcus did photo shoots with Cindy Margolis and Kristin wonders if  there’s more history there. It’s definitely not a love match and now Kristin feels funny about talking to Cindy about the situation.

Nannies Justin and Amanda

The two meet at a dessert shop and Amanda brings him the present from Marika – Justin thinks it might be ice cream and is mortified to find her breast milk – he says “was it a peace offering or was she trying to poison me”?! Amanda says Marika thinks it’s the “gift of life” and will help him grow taller and find a boyfriend.

These nanny friends have a lot of fun together!

On their “chocolate high” the two decide to invite Marika and baby over for a swim date – that should be interesting!

At the playdate, Justin’s swim instructor shows up and immediately hits it off with Amanda. Marika eggs it on and Justin jokes that he could have been drowning and no one would know! Poor Justin was a bit worried how things would be with Marika, but they all have a blast together, it was nice to see.

Amanda and the swim instructor, Marcus exchange numbers, they were cute together. Later they go on a date starting with ballroom dance lessons. They have a good time and Amanda seems smitten with Marcus!

Later, Justin talks to Lindsay in her bedroom about her love life. She feels a bit uncomfortable – that he’s crossing a line with her, but Justin seems to be totally in his element and there’s lots of laughter.

They go out to a bar and Justin brings over some men to meet Lindsay. The whole thing was very awkward.

Marika is out shopping for baby clothes with nanny Amanda, who can’t get over the prices of baby clothes (and neither could I!) – she’s looking at baby “slacks” for $300 and a Christian Dior baby romper for $838!

Nanny-wanna-be Maggie and a possible job with Cynthia Wyse

Cynthia was the mom that didn’t hire nanny Lucy and somehow we’re to believe that she’d trust Maggie, whose never nannied before. When Cynthia tells Maggie that her girls are 2 and 3 years old, and still in diapers, Maggie’s face turns white as a sheet!

Maggie tells us she wants to be a nanny after seeing all the “perks” Kristin gets, but I don’t think she has any idea about the work it involves. She tells us she hates children, and doesn’t want any of her own. It was funny when she told us that if toddlers are spoken to as “adults” then they’ll act like adults – yeah, good luck with that one!!

So, after this terrible interview, even a non-English speaker would know that Maggie is not right for the job, but Cynthia tells Maggie to come in for work in the morning. Yeah, we all know where this is headed – off a cliff!

The next day, Maggie is dreading being alone with the toddlers.  The two sweet girls are acting like toddlers and Maggie says they are spoiled and bratty. She seems to just sit while the kids play around her. Mommy Cynthia comes home, asks Maggie to make the kids dinner and goes to the backyard to finish her errands. Maggie doesn’t make dinner and lets the kids go see Mommy in the backyard. The understatement of the episode is made by both ladies as they say Maggie was “overwhelmed”. Big surprise this didn’t work out….

Cynthia calls Kristin and lets her know, and big news, Kristin is not surprised.

Nanny Lucy and mommy Tricia

Tricia is letting Lucy borrow expensive shoes for an event. Lucy tells her that she’s on a “break” with her boyfriend and Tricia tells us it’s probably partially Lucy’s fault – I was thinking the same thing!!!

Curtis comes over to Lucy’s place after they have a one week break. The last time they were together, she tells us that he yelled at her for falling asleep during a movie. They seem to kiss and make up.

Tricia and her husband go out to dinner with Lucy and Curtis. Tricia was surprised at the laid back and quiet Curtis. Tricia notes how Lucy interrupts and finishes his thoughts. Curtis gets very uncomfortable when Tricia asks about the long-term prospects of their relationship.

Nanny Amber and Mommy Ari

We start with a clip from last week where Ari told Amber that she needs to get her act together. Amber is mortified – but when I think about it, Amber had just told Ari that her car was repossessed because she hadn’t made payments, AND, Ari was giving her the keys to her Escalade ($50K as Ari told us) so perhaps Amber needs to be a little less freaked out? Because it does seem like the girl needs to get her act together!!!

Amber tells us that since she needs the job, she’ll put up with Ari putting her down. In Ari’s bedroom, dresses are on display and Ari is asking for Amber’s help in picking one for a party she’s having for her new hubby, Barry. Amber likes the dresses and suggests the sexiest one.

Ari has asked Amber to bring a cocktail dress and with one look, Ari decides it’s too short and too sexy for her party. It seems that just as Ari’s honeymoon has ended, so has the honeymoon with her nanny – the two can’t seem to agree on anything. Ari hates Amber’s dress and shoes and takes her into her own closet, but nothing fits, and Ari tells us that she “has more assets while Amber has more conversation”. Seems like Ari’s getting tired of Amber’s outgoing personality – Amber is a bit LOUD!

They go to the party and Amber decides to “make a toast” – Ari interrupts her and says “Amber, you talk a lot – can I please make a toast?” Amber feels insulted but I have to agree with Ari – seems like Amber should be in the background, she’s Ari’s employee, not the guest of honor.

Seems like these two are in some rocky territory.

After the party Amber decides she can’t put up with Ari and our cliffhanger is Amber returning the keys to the car and getting ready to tell Ari that she’s quitting. I wonder how Amber will make car payments without a job??

It seems like the mommy’s and nannies on this show are struggling to figure out who is the “star” of the show. Many of the nannies – like Lucy and Amber seem to always want to be the center of attention, and this seems to be creating more conflict.

    Thanks to MTH for the excellent Survivor recap – haven’t watched that in quite a while – I do love me some Jeff Probst… 🙂

  3. Lulu says:

    Good Morning!!! Thank you for the wonderful blog!! I stumbled on this I though it may interest some 😉

    I’ll start with the review: BTW OUCH!
    This infomercial disguised as a memoir skates lightly across a cold and frozen surface. Being stabbed with a screwdriver by a maniac while your supposed friends not only refuse to help but actually slam the door in your face is undeniably harrowing, but Gilbert confuses ‘success’ with ‘survival’ and glibly thinks that accomplishing the former is the same as achieving the latter. There is zero insight or meaningful self-reflection here. That she doesn’t seem to wonder about — much less confront — her friends’ betrayal is a giant, baffling hole in her story. Being rich and thin, staying rich and thin, and getting richer and thinner seem to be her sole motivators in life. It doesn’t help that she was such a self-important mean girl herself that even Bravo couldn’t stomach her and dropped her midway thru one season of Real Housewives of New York! I was hoping something else was there, and guess I shouldn’t be surprised the book was so shallow. Glad I read it on loan from an equally unimpressed friend, rather than wasting $ myself.

    Apparently Ms Jennifer Gilbert who decided to write a book about herself called: I never promised you a goodie bag?!?!? No wonder why her RHONY “career” went no where. I really hate that Bravo scours the bottom barrel and finds these women. That is why I always felt that Bravo hates us why else would they shove horrible people in our faces!

    • Powell says:

      LuLu that’s funny cause as I’m reading I’m thinking who is this.?. Jennifer. I forgot all about her. Kinda like,Dana/Pam.

    • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:

      Thanks for this review, Lulu. I’d heard about it from someone else here on the blog. They recommended it. So, I added it to my book list. Based on this review, however, I will now erase it. Your review was much more detailed than the recommendation from the other commenter.

    • Zoey says:

      Interesting. Thanks! She sounds pitiful.

    • Lulu says:

      The review is not from me I left the name out but I found it on amazon.

      At first when I read the summary I thought it was interesting. But I never buy a book before reading all the negative reviews first. This reviewer summed it up nicely.

  4. Powell says:

    Good morning everyone. Happy Saturday.

  5. I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:

    Good Morning, Folks!

  6. Powell says:

    The Maloofs a competition type of reality show? Are they going to have people compete for a record deal, compete to be on the BB team, compete in a skateboard/bmx competition, compete at running a hotel/casino? I don’t understand.

    Aviva is trying to secure her place next season since she’s now wise to how the game is played. Sonja is not hardly scared of her.

    • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:

      As if Sonja is scared of 101-phobias Aviva. All Sonja has to do is pull Aviva away from Reid, shove her on an elevator, hit the STOP button and give Aviva a piece of her mind. Then, she needs to push the button to the highest floor and only hit their original floor when Aviva cries “Uncle.” She should end with a threat to pull the same move if Aviva ever tries to mess with her again.

      Mission accomplished.

    • ATLnNYC09 says:

      I thought the whole reason Ms. Uppity joined the cast anyway was to promote her charity. Seems like she is drinking the fame flavored kool-aid. Please Aviva, no one cares about you like that. No one thinks Sonja is really afraid of you anyway. You cant even get on a damn plane without having a heart attack.

  7. Formerly Addicted to Bravo says:

    I have to say I really would not, could not watch a show featuring Adrienne (sounds like Dr. Seuss). She is so ultimately boring, no sense of being able to laugh at herself, every word uttered with a frozen botox face that makes her look like she is permanently wary, and now she has jettisoned the most interesting part of her life – her husband (he has a personality and is likeable.) And I must mention her strangled voice which sounds like she is speaking with water stuck in her throat. Yuck. Now a show about Paul’s new life without HER – that would be fun to watch. Imagine him with patients, dating, being set up by Lisa etc…

    • I’d watch a show about Paul. Adrienne – not so much. I think she’s just posturing for a better edit on the show – but I have nothing to go on to support that opinion – just a gut feeling. I think she’s in for a rocky ride this season with Lisa and Brandi clearly having her number.

    • klmh says:

      Enjoyed that FAtB. Good points.

    • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:

      I want a Paul show too. He was indeed the most interesting thing about Adrienne. Watching him date would be a hoot. I’d also really root for him to find love again with a woman that truly appreciates him. If BRAVO doesn’t go for it, maybe he could be the next “Bachelor” (but he’ll have to get in line behind Ryan Lochte and Sean Lowe this year).

    • Zoey says:

      Totally agree with not being able to watch a show with or about Adrienne. There’s just not much to her. From what we’ve seen I don’t think she’s very good at verbally expressing herself (which is fine, because that voice, ugh!) at all. She always seems to either pull people away, move them physically somehow or cover their mouths with her hands.
      Maybe she never had to speak much growing up, she was spoiled and just ordered people around.

  8. Good Morning – Beverly Hills Nannies and a few more links added to the Post. Thank you Lady C for getting it posted this morning so that I could sleep in a little 🙂

  9. kit9 says:

    Sad news about Jacquline and Chris..their youngest son has been diagnosed with autism.

  10. BB says:

    Good Saturday morning. Thanks for all the information and previews. I might just watch Survivor this time around. Haven’t watched it in years.

  11. plainviewsue says:

    MTH, so looking forward to the return of Survivor. I have watched every single season since the beginning. I still find it the most entertaining of all reality shows, even after so many seasons. The cast is what makes it. There have been some dud seasons, but there have also been absolute stellar seasons. I am so glad Colton did not return. I love the idea of Mike coming back from season 2 Australia. That was the season with Elizabeth Hasselback. I had always hoped he would return. Jonathan Penner is a great character. Don’t know who the other returning guy is.

    What makes Survivor so great is that you have to not only survive the elements, but even more so, you are put into a situation with brand new people that you need to get along with to survive. Make alliances with. If need be, stab someone in the back to get ahead.

    Jeff Probst should do a season with the real housewives. Could you imagine these prima donnas having to make fire, sleep on the floor, do challenges? OMG, it would be the best!!!!

    • I don’t think I’ve missed an episode – but i can’t say I remember who the third returning guy is. I’m so excited for Mike’s return. He was on the same tribe as Elizabeth – and when he went out after falling into the fire (who could ever forget that scene) they were down in numbers and picked off one by one by the other Tribe (Colby, Tina, Keith, Amber, and Jerri). Jeesh – it’s like I have it memorized. Elizabeth is probably the most successful ex-survivor – but Amber went on to win All-stars, marry Boston Rob, go on Amazing Race twice, and I think they had their own show for a bit. Tina came back for All-stars. Colby returned at least twice – but the last time he played (Villains versus Heros) he was out of shape and it was sad to watch.)

      I’m also really interested in watching Blair from Facts of Life on Survivor. I hope she’s tougher than her rich, pretty girl character. I loved that show. But I’m glad Survivor hasn’t done a Stars episode yet. They are too spoiled overall. I’d love to see a housewives episode – but who are we kidding? They wouldn’t last a day.

      • Viki55 says:

        Her name is Lisa Whelchel. I heard her speak at the Women of Faith Christian Conference last year, she was great.

      • PrincessPindy says:

        When Mike fell into the fire, that was sooo shocking!!

      • Realhousewifeva says:

        I think Russell was the black guy who was on same season as evil Russell hantz. He was a nice guy, if I remember correctly? His situation was really scary, I remember even Jeff was shaken up. He looked like he was gonna die

        • PrincessPindy says:

          The guy that passed out during the challenge. I liked him. He looked like he was dying, that was scary!

    • MelTheHound says:

      I didn’t know that Survivor was Elizabeth Hasselback’s original claim to fame. I can’t stand that tripe of a show she’s on now so I don’t watch but I keep hearing her name from Kathy G every time she talks about that show.

      • LavaLady says:

        That was one of the few Survivors I did watch and EH was nothing like she is now. She was much younger and had a really nice father/daughter relationship on the show with an older guy, can’t remember his name now. She stayed on pretty long as well.

      • PrincessPindy says:

        She said it saved her life because the lack of food helped her discover she was allergic to gluten.

      • Realhousewifeva says:

        Yah she was so different then. I was a big fan of hers on survivor. Now, not so much

      • lovemamaearth says:

        Do you watch Kathy Griffin MTH? She’s almost too much for me.

        I wonder if Elisabeth’s diet would really have killed her. She seems arrogant to me. I didn’t see her on Survivor.

        • MelTheHound says:

          I don’t watch her anymore LME. I liked her in the earlier days and now she just seems a little too mean to me. Pushing too hard almost. Saw a couple of her talk shows on Bravo, more than enough for me.

    • Powell says:

      Every season sue? You are dedicated. The last season I watched some of was with the R & B singer from the girl group SWV. I know she is married to a football player and i remember how they were surprised he was her husband. I don’t know who won.

    • Powell says:

      And you lose weight. 🙂

    • Powell says:

      sue I don’t see any HWs signing up for it. No hair and makeup, no designer clothes and bags, no wine/alcohol, no assistants- “Sweetieeeee. Go run that box under those ropes, thru the swamp, climbing those trees and find me a cigarette while you’re at it”. Hahaha.

    • COCfarm says:

      Ugh! Thanks plainview…you just made pop come out my nose w that last paragraph. I would watch that show!!!

  12. AZGirl says:

    Morning everyone! Maloofs must be desperate for money. Off to clean house.

  13. VV says:

    Jeff, your Survivor posts were very popular last year. I haven’t watched the show in years. I just might…i just might 🙂

    Sounds like the show with no charisma. Who wants to watch the Maloof brothers and their sister Charo?

    Funny video…(RHONJ)

  14. boston02127 says:

    From Ashley Holmes

    This past week my family I were in Lavallette, NJ. We stayed in a GORGEOUS house. We got to stay in the beautiful house for an entire week! AH! It was awesome. I loved spending so much time with my family. I managed to catch a little bit of the action on camera. I also threw a few of the photos so I decided to share them in this gallery. I had A LOT more footage from the trip that I could have added, but it’s already a 12 minute video! What can I say? My family knows how to have a good time –Enjoy! xx

    I recently gave up alcohol. I’m not going to lie, I did drink a little bit while I was down at the shore with my family, HOWEVER, I did not get drunk at all. I’m learning to just have everything in moderation. I decided that I don’t know if I can fully give up wine. I genuinely enjoy the taste of it. I think when it comes to drinking, it really depends on where you are and who you’re with as well. I will continue to not drink at bars and clubs. If it’s a nice night and all of my family is over, or my best friends, then I think I might enjoy a nice glass of wine. I don’t see anything wrong with that as long as I don’t get carried away. Baby steps.

    ~~~~~~Why is talking so much about drinking? Is she even 21?
    Photo’s from Ashley’s site:
    http://ashleeholmes-themanzosthelauritas.buzznet.com/user/photos/list/
    • LavaLady says:
      Well now, who knew. I’ve been in Lavallette all summer. Wonder where they stayed. Can’t t tell by the pics. It’s a really small town. Too bad I didn’t know they were here; I could have stalked them. And reported back to the blog.
    • Lady Chatterley says:
      Oh, Ashley…..
    • lori says:
      What a wonderful family..their 20something daughter has decided her drinking is a big enough issue that she wants to NOT drink and they have a lovely little family get together and drink in front of her and have her join in….AWESOME! quickly going to pre-order carolines book!!!
    • MelTheHound says:
      Isn’t that special. Me thinks Ms Ashley has been drinking for a lot longer than the time since her 21st bday. When I go somewhere that I know doesn’t typically have my drink of choice, Diet Pepsi, I take my own. The next time I go there, it is provided for me because the host or hostess, knows, I don’t drink alcohol. Just sayin… It’s pretty easy to avoid if you’re not addicted to it and if you want to avoid it.
      • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:
        This is true, Mel. One of my secretaries didn’t drink, but she would still hang out with us whenever we would sometimes go out for drinks after work. She would drink this non-alcoholic beer called O’Doul’s.
        I’ve thought about trying it. Have you tried it? Is it good, or is it nasty?
        • MelTheHound says:
          No, never tried the non-alc beer. Just gave it up all together. Too many nights I didn’t remember what I had done until much later when my ‘friends’ reminded me of it 😀
      • Powell says:
        True MTH. Jac & Chris have that wine cellar. I wonder if Ashley opened a few every now and then.
    Good Morning & Happy Saturday!
    It has been a busy couple of days and didn’t get a chance to get here much, but caught up this morning and I wanted to say *amazing* blogs & gossip & comments…oh my! What a great thing that is happening here.
    I also wanted to thank degrazia4 for the shout out and hearts for the Inspiration Blog from yesterdays post. Her FB post was beautiful and such an effort. Thanks degrazia4!!
    I will have another post ready today. One of the lovely women here asked me to write on something specific, so I will do that next. And it got me thinking, if there is a particular topic any of you would like covered, please feel free to let me know. I would be happy to include it. You can email me at mardrag26atgmaildotcom if you would like it private.
    I know everyone is still healing. But what a great place to do it, here, in the company of such amazing people! Thanks for being here…..everybody!
    Have a fabulous day!! Hugs!
    Another great blog today, I don’t know how y’all do it!
    MTH – Thanks for Survivor! Can’t wait! I actually DID watch all the seasons and don’t remember these people except the falling in the fire guy. I’ve got a baaaad case of CRS 😀
    • MelTheHound says:
      CRS… Had to think about that one for a second JD 😉 Me too.
      • Just Wondering in Jersey says:
        Speaking of CRS I expressly came in from the porch to track an order and to google something. When it came time to google I couldn’t remember what I wanted to look up. That was yesterday and I still don’t remember. Ugh.
        • MelTheHound says:
          😆 Happens to me all the time. I’ll want to look something up, get my fingers on the keyboard, pull up google, and won’t remember what it was I wanted to see.
        • JustDee says:
          Yep – remember something I want to look up – turn on the ‘puter – sit down – browse around awhile – turn off ‘puter – think Awww Crap! Totally Forgot what I was supposed to do!
          • Lady Chatterley says:
            🙂 I walk upstairs to get something – brush my hair, straighten the bedspread, put some papers away in the filing cabinet….and forget what I went upstairs for. Happens every single day! 🙂
            • mardrag26 says:
              Oh Lady C….that is the story of my life! Glad to know there are others! 🙂
              • PrincessPindy says:
                I will go upstairs or out to the garage with such enthusiasm and then stop and look around and say, “Are you kidding me?” why am I out here, what was I thinking? It’s maddening!! lol
    • Powell says:
      Oh I remember that MTH. I watched that season. One of the earlier seasons.
  19. Rebecca says:
    Ah a fresh video of Kathy playing the victim. I haven’t seen one of these in a week.
    Teresa did not force Kathy’s head up. Ugh. Broken record Bravo.
    And AGAIN Richie takes a dig at Teresa. When she responds – it’s her fault for overreacting.
    How sick and twisted are those producers to think this is entertaining viewers?
    • MelTheHound says:
      Ha! Haven’t seen one in a week… 😆
    • VV says:
      Teresa, looks ticked off on that scene. I’m sure they were all ganging up on her. Hence, her behavior. The juvenile Bravo producers were probably hoping for another flipping table scene and all they got was Teresa ( rudely ) pushing Kathy’s head up. I’m not one for violence, but for a minute there I wished Teresa had smacked down her hipocritical, passive/agresive, brown nose, uninteresting, and dull cousin.
      • plainviewsue says:
        Touche VV! So tired of it already.
        BTW, I know how upset these NJ HW’s get with Teresa and all her magazine stories. But I swear, Caroline & Jacq are constantly getting postive write ups on Radar On Line. I am sure Jacq has them on speed dial. All the negative press on Teresa for sure. Jacq, worry about your children.
    • scorpiosue1102 says:
      She did not force her head up but in no way should Teresa be touching her face like that anyway. I was always taught that you keep your hands to yourself.
      • LaineyLainey says:
        agree
      • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:
        You guys know I’m on Teresa’s side when it comes to all of this piling on, but I do agree that she should have kept her hands to herself.
        Honor one’s personal space is a personal motto of mine. Do not touch me unless I ask you to do so.
      • kit9 says:
        Teresa is a neanderthal. Prone to vein busting rages.
  20. MamaZ says:
    I am so glad to hear Colton isn’t coming back! I mistakenly called him Colby a few days ago.
  21. JenninFL says:
    Hope everyone is having a good weekend!
    Jacqueline posted this link on her twitter, it is a video tour of Lauren Manzo’s store. I wonder how much the rent must be for that place each month and if she is actually making money.
    http://ashleeholmes.buzznet.com/user/journal/17282151/buzznet-exclusive-lauren-manzo-gives/
    • PrincessPindy says:
      So is she supposed to be competing with Sephora/Ulta/Dept. Stores? With the added benefit of having your make-up done, badly. I don’t see how this can make money, sorry honey!
      • LaineyLainey says:
        THAT’S the difference b/t Calf-Face and Ulta/Sephora, you can shop AND have your “make up done, badly.” i.e. Bitter Clown style! LOL!
      • Powell says:
        Ha! Sorry Loren. You CANNOT compete. She would actually have to have some kick ass makeup artists, a huge following and fantastic publicity to even be in the same arena of competing.
      • JenninFL says:
        I just don’t understand the concept of the store. She has too many things going on in one place. She can’t possibly be making enough to pay the rent and all the other bills. All of that custom stuff she had built had to of cost a fortune!
        • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:
          Too many things going on in one place is never really a good idea for a business that is JUST starting out. Focus on 1 or 2 things, do them REALLY well, gain a reputation for doing those things really well and, then, slowly expand.
          Too many things all at once in the beginning makes you look like a jack of all trades and a master of none.
    • VV says:
      A tour of Cacaface…Watched about 2 minutes. Is this Lauren pre-Lapband or post-Lapband? I can’t tell.
      • LaineyLainey says:
        LOL!!!
      • Contessa says:
        That’s what I was wondering…but it is post, as the lap band was supposedly done last September. If she is selling makeup etc…she needs to glam it up and wear her products and do something about the stringy hair. I started my working career (many years ago) repping for a cosmetic company and we were required to dress up, hair done, makeup to a tee – we wore the products and that is what sold it.
        Also with all of that furniture etc..which is custom, that store must have cost Mama a pretty penny. I bet the returns are no where near what went into the store. This is not teaching your child to make it in the real world. It’s just setting up an adult playpen to keep you kid busy.
        • plainviewsue says:
          Contessa, you are absolutely right. I love the term adult playpen. It’s like Heather of the OC and her rich friends wanting to open up a restaurant, so they would have somewhere to hang out.
          • Contessa says:
            Thank you and you are right – that Heather OC thing about opening a restaurant and who cares if it goes down the tubes made me so angry, as people are starving, losing their homes, etc…For that reason alone I hate Heather and I don’t like to use that word, but her altered reality is sickening.
            • lovemamaearth says:
              I don’t like Heather of OC or her husband for the reason you just stated. No clue as to how many Americans or humans anywhere are struggling to deal with everything.
          • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:
            And the thing that gets me with Heather wanting to open a restaurant is that she does not even really COOK. She also looks like she does not eat all that much. It would seem to me that if you have the desire to open a restaurant, you would have some passion for and about food, right?
            I think Heather just wants to open a damned restaurant because she thinks it seems like a chic thing to do, and she wants to be able to say she is one of the owners.
    • Winston says:
      One of her favorite products is Poo-Pourri. Oh Lauren, you Manzo’s and the products you back just make me shake my head……first blk water, now poo-pourri??
      • Winston says:
        I don’t mean to be insensitive but truthfully when you are selling a beauty product it takes a very beautiful, glamorous kind of woman to pull it off and I don’t get that feeling from either Caroline or Lauren. Didn’t Caroline say she SHAVES her face in the shower? Who wants to buy beauty products from a bearded lady?
        • JenninFL says:
          LOL at bearded lady! She did say she shaves her face. I remember being in shock that she would admit that on national television!
        • LaineyLainey says:
          Hilarious Winston! someone actually wrote that on the Amazon Discussion for her book “Caroline shaves her face. Seriously. She’s insane!” At least your comment pertains to beauty and glamour. But re the book? She shaves!!? I found it to be so random and funny.
          • Called A Princess... says:
            Sounds like Carolyn is manifesting male traits because she deep down wishes she was one. IMO.
      • LaineyLainey says:
        Winston, don’t forget Brown Sauce and CaCa Face to list of genius marketing and packaging and branding
    • Christi44 says:
      When did Caro’s kids start calling her “The Don”? I must have missed that.
      • LaineyLainey says:
        Bet they got it from THE BLOG. If one of them utters Bitter Clown, I will lose it
        • Christi44 says:
          If one of them calls her Bitter Clown, I will take you all out for drinks.
          I was thinking the same thing about them getting it from the blog. I couldn’t believe she said it in the video. Still, it is better than asshole.
    • plainviewsue says:
      I couldn’t watch the whole thing. Lauren did not do a good job in selling it. Looks like mama spent a hell of a lot of money. Is the place open yet? I cant imagine it being successful, but I do wish Lauren luck.
      • Contessa says:
        If Ms. Lauren was truly serious about her products her website would be complete and she would have all her products and junk on it with newsletters etc…it’s simple marketing 101. I think she sells the stuff through facebook or twitter. There was no thought given to setting this business up, except to give Lauren something to do so Mama knows where she is, until Vito marries her.
      • Contessa says:
        Who does a video promoting beauty items and says don’t look at my nails, because they look horrible. She knew Ashley was going to post the video, so she should have been prepared in full makeup, dress, hair, nails regalia. She probably goes to the store dressed in shorts and flip/flops. Also how do you go on vacation to the Jersey Shore when you just opened a new business? I got a new contract, when I was working as a consultant and had to give up a fabulous trip to Hawaii – yuck! Now I don’t have the $$$ to get there and it doesn’t seem likely in this lifetime. Spoiled whiney kids give me a big f’ing headache.
        Also Vito better look out, because it seems Lauren puts her brothers first…he better take a look at what happened to the Gorga’s.
        • Orson says:
          I thought somewhere I saw a photo of Albie’s Lindsey (sp?) working in Lauren’s store.
          • JenninFL says:
            Yup, in the video I posted above of Lauren’s store she states that Lindsey runs the clothing part of her store. That will be one awkward breakup!
            • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:
              I thought they were already broken up but still “friendly” because their breakup was amicable. I could be wrong, though.
    • I couldn’t even watch the whole video. The store is empty – wow what a way to promote your business! These people are clueless. She should have had a store full of customers (cross that out & put friends & family faking it) with the cash register ringing. If you can’t promote your business in 3 minutes or less (like where the h*ll it’s located & store hours nitwit) nobody is going to watch you drag on that long. Boring! Fresh flowers? Why even waste time talking about that!
      Promote it as the cool new hangout, that everybody must stop in to buy the latest & greatest crap. Oh I mean cosmetics, perfume, etc.
      Yeah right Lauren, most people go to a real salon or store for their products. You should have just opened a Sephora store, or copied their business model.
      A real business take at least 5 years to make it. So if you are not going to dedicate the next 5 years of your life working 24/7 don’t even get involved in trying to have a small business. And let me tell you something, my family has a small business for 3 generations now, and it is hard work! Every day, 365 days a year.
      Now go do some exercise, run/walk 2 miles, lift some weights & clean the family room. That’s what this 55 year old bitch just did today. 😉
    That parody video was so funny!! Loved it!
    Thank you again for a great blog!! I especially love the links at the top!
  23. PJ says:
    No wonder I can’t stand the cast of NJ. Kathy plays victim while her creepy husband puts Teresa down (and if Teresa doesn’t like being put down she is being sensitive). Kathy confronts Teresa not in private as any normal family member would do but in front of a bunch of blood thirsty animals. Caroline sits there with her I’m so much better than you are and I don’t like anyone face ready to pounce and stick her nose into family business and boy what a look of sheer delight she has when she does pounce on Teresa. Is it just me or is Caroline is a major bully? Melissa sits there so innocently and Jac isn’t even worth a mention. Say what you will about Joe G at least he had the balls to stand up for his wife. These people make Teresa look good they are all so disgusting.
    • Powell says:
      Caroline is totally jealous of T.
      • VV says:
        TOTALLY!!! … That Bitter Clown!
        • Called A Princess... says:
          My take is more that Caroline dislikes being upstaged by a real flesh and blood women. She does not like her gender at all and can not stomach that fact that another women on her show has upstaged her in every way possible. The good, the bad and the ugly, Teresa does them all better then all the other NJ crew combined, and Carolyn is loosing sleep over it. I think she considers it so unfair to her and her family and will beg, cheat and borrow, to bring Teresa down. JMHO.
      • kit9 says:
        She has absolutely nothing to be jealous of T for…..Caroline’s husband loves her and treats her well, she’s not 11 million in debt, her hubby isn’t facing hard time and Albert isn’t a disgusting pig.
        • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:
          Caroline’s husband is never home and never really wants to spend any time with her. He also allegedly has had a mistress for several years. Teresa has the fame and branding opportunities that Caroline wanted for herself and for her 3 children. Teresa also has the option of possibly having a career once RHONJ is over. Caroline does not really have that.
          So, if Teresa wanted to dump Joe and stand on her own two feet, she would have the career options to do just that. Caroline would NOT.
          Also, Caroline loves to feel like when SHE talks, people LISTEN.
          The only problem is that all people REALLY want to ask her about is TERESA.
    • disgrazia4 says:
      I’m with you PJ. Carol is a weak bully. She won’t show up next season for all the backlash. She can’t deal meanwhile T has been dealing with her own crap and everyone elses. Did I spell scapegoat right. Carol is a strega and a disgrazia!!
      • Powell says:
        Oh goodness. That doesn’t sound good then.
        • JenninFL says:
          Unless it’s a mistake but on amazon it says it comes out March 26, 2013. I assume the book is already written so I wonder why they are waiting that long to release it.
    • dickens says:
      Wow! I just read it. A page full of folks saying how awful she is and they’ll not be reading. If she had written this book during her first season, she might have had good sales. It”ll be interesting to see how the book does (or doesn’t). If this keeps up, do you think that maybe Harper Collins will pull it?
      RIP and Godspeed Neil Armstrong.
    • Rebecca says:
      I’m so incredibly sad over this. They are not making astronauts anymore. I hate that they are just all going to be gone one day. I want to be an astronaut my whole childhood.
      Per Neil Armstrong’s family, I will now wink at the moon every time I look at it. I thought it was a really nice tribute.
    • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:
      R.I.P. Mr. Armstrong.
    • kit9 says:
      Armstrong was always a very very private man, not wanting any special attention. I urge all of you to see an absolutely fantastic documentary about the Apollo astronauts. It’s incredibly moving. Had me in tears at the end! The comments the other astronauts had about Armstrong were very interesting. The whole thing is interesting…it’s called “In the Shadow of the Moon”..it’s spectacular.
      • LaineyLainey says:
        Thanks for the recommendation, Kit9. It sounds like something both my husband and I would enjoy.
  28. Contessa says:
    I am looking forward to tomorrow’s NJ show, as I think Don Caro is going to get another backlash of fans hating on her behavior. No one likes one person getting attacked on all sides, I say enough already. Her one statement about her H destroying Joe Giu is ridiculous, tells me she thinks they are high and mighty and above everyone else in their environment – PULEEZE!
    • Powell says:
      Blogs are saying she says she’s not coming back. I think she feels the handwriting is on the wall that Bravo may not want her back. She wants to head them off at the path and not be in JZs position.
      • Rebecca says:
        She’ll claim she’s leaving on her own – blah blah blah. She’s too busy with all her new business ventures – blah blah blah. She refuses to do the show with Teresa – blah blah blah. Nothing is ever her fault.
      • disgrazia4 says:
        Like all bullies, she’s running away. We did not like her behavior. We did not buy her spin. We let her know and, instead of owning up to it, she’s running away. I bet she doesn’t even care about her already lambasted book. She’s getting 1/16th of the crap Teresa’s been living with for 3 years and she can’t deal. I have totally lost respect for her.
    • LaineyLainey says:
      Yeah, They’re on the same level as the Billy Joel fambly.
    • disgrazia4 says:
      She’s been getting backlash all season. We did not buy her spin. It was false.
    • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:
      With her saying her husband will destroy Joe Giudice, do any of you guys think the Manzo’s may still be mobbed up (like Albert’s father was before he was dumped naked in that trunk with his organ in his mouth. That’s supposed to be a Mafia message, but I forget exactly what)? Do any of you guys think the Giudices are mobbed up? I wonder if anyone on that show is.
      Probably not. I’m just speculating.
      • Rebecca says:
        She’s just a stupid bully. Does she NOT think Gov. Christie’s office is keeping close tags on her husband? Stupid statement of the year goes to the Bitter Clown.
      • LaineyLainey says:
        I didn’t know about the organ in the mouth thing.
      • LaineyLainey says:
        I just emailed ‘The Godfather’ from a site called ‘PixelMafa.com’ to find out what kind of message was being sent with the organ in the mouth, stuffed in the trunk of a car thing, let’s see if I get an answer. Based solely on my Mafia movie watching habits, I would be led to think that this type of message is sent to someone who is an informant and/or Someone who is talking too much.
    • ATLnNYC09 says:
      They do surveys with all the personalities on all the Bravo shows. Its one of the things that goes into the formula of deciding who will be returning and who wont at the end of each season. Im working on my second Masters in tv and film production and in one of my classes, an executive from Bravo came and talked a little about who stays on the Real Housewives, who goes and why. Well, turns out that blogs, surveys and even blogs like this play a part. They like “good drama” (i.e. Jill Zarin season 3) but dont care for “bad drama” (i.e. Jill Zarin season 4), meaning they like juicy story lines and slight controversy but dont like extreme negativity. Crazy Caro probably pushed the limit and im sure is irritating many of the bravo audience.
      • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:
        Wow, cool Masters, ATL! Very interesting!
      • trudie says:
        Tell us more, please!
      • LaineyLainey says:
        A real scholar! I love it!! more…more!!!
      • ATLnNYC09 says:
        Thanks for all of the compliments. Im really not a scholar as my first choice is to work in film but basically they do alot of research into which personalities the audience prefers. They do surveys, focus groups, etc. to find out who is liked and disliked before they decide who stays and who goes. One of the reasons Jill Zarin was cut is because the focus groups and surveys came back extremely negative for her. The audience really disliked her personality and as I recall, many of the responses were about how she much she was liked in the first season to the dislike she experienced during the season before she was cut. For Kelly, its just as was talked about on Lynn’s (R.I.P.) blog and how the audience surveyed responded about how she basically lost it and Alex was always kind of on the fence. People were lukewarm about her and people really didnt have as strong of feelings about her as they did the other cast members. The exec that came to our class showed us a Powerpoint presentation with all of this information on it.
  29. dickens says:
    If this has been mentioned, sorry for the repeat.
    Re Project Runway: I read that Michael Costello found Terri (Ven’s client from Thursday’s episode) on twitter and offered to make her a dress and she accepted! I hope it’s true. 🙂
    • BB says:
      I always liked Michael Costello. He may have been a little dramatic, but he seemed kind.
      • lillybee says:
        I loved Michael Costello. That man has been through a lot and he was so bullied that season. Perhaps that is why he is being so kind.
    • Mookiesmom says:
      Just a quick drive by post. But Dickens I hope that is true. Ven’s behavior was completely disgusting. If I had been his model and he said those things to me I would have said things to him that I won’t repeat here and left his butt without a model. I thought he could win the whole thing but I changed my mind. I wish he had been kicked off for that. Gunner I still am not all that fond of but he earned a bit more respect in my book. I don’t know if he will lose that respect, time will tell.
      So happy that Colton won’t be back. I’ll leave it at that.
      Extremely happy that Boogie is gone from BB14 and that Ian was a bit of a puppet master in that. I haven’t figured out who I want to win this year. I haven’t gotten into it as much this year as previous years.
      That’s all I’ve got for now. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
    • LuvMyGals says:
      is Michael Costello one of the designer/contestants?
    • LaineyLainey says:
      Michael was bullied his season. It was the awful gang-up mentality that unites people. The other designers were envious because he kept winning and they expressed that they didn’t think he deserved it. He and Mondo ended up working together; as Mondo got to really know MIchael he started to like him. Mondo apologized to him and they are now bff’s. Everyone’s attitude changed; a perfect illustration that if even only one person speaks up it can diffuse the bully energy.
      • MamaZ says:
        That is so sweet. I’m glad she accepted.
        I read what CAP had to say about Ven yesterday and she did make a good point that Ven wasn’t really being mean the way Jeffrey Sibelia and Christian Siriano were in their seasons. I do think he was insensitive. He should have seen how his words were affecting her and tried to be more tactful and considerate.
      • lovemamaearth says:
        Oh that’s nice. I don’t watch the designer shows but I understand about the mob mentality.
          I think that Ven’s client does deserve to have a dress made to her liking. I do have a problem though. I feel that she came into the challenge sad and down on herself. Ven is not outgoing, selfless or articulate enough to step out of himself and make her feel better end in the end it was not his responsibility. She did not demand self respect because she appear to not have very much. We all have story, after all. Regardless of weight, I have friends that have both high and low self esteem, sometimes in the same person, sometimes in the same day. Ven was not responsible for the way this client felt about herself and I suspect it effected the way he treated her. If he had picked her as a client I would have a lot less to say about the matter. He did not, so I will remember it as another reality created debacle. I found very few of the designs on that episode, up to par or worth taking seriously, for the plus sized genre. I do not think most of these designers can design for anything that is not in the pan-orexic drape-scape. JMHO.
          • LaineyLainey says:
            CAP – wasn’t that part of the challenge? To help the client look better and therefore feel better? He was projecting his disappointment and his sense of “this isn’t fair” onto the client from the get-go. Whether or not it was or was not fair, is beside the point to me, because he went out of his way to tear her down (just to make a point) because he was upset about the feeling that he was being treated unfairly. He tried to share with the others how he felt and no one validated his opinion or his feelings…so he continued harping about it to the unfortunate object of his obvious disgust until the lady finally broke. You know what else wasn’t fair? That the client got stuck with Ven. She, however, tried to be mature, cooperative and polite until she just couldn’t take it anymore. Ven never tried to hide his disappointment and disdain for his model. The unfairness went both ways in my opinion. HOWEVER, I do want to go on the record to say that I didn’t think the dress he designed and made was hideous. I actually think she looked pretty in it. It wasn’t what she wanted or asked for…but I honestly think the judges caught wind of the drama and he was punished for that, and not for the design. Admittedly my taste level isn’t too sophisticated…but to throw some fairness into this, I didn’t hate the dress. I only hated his treatment of her.
            • Called A Princess... says:
              I guess because I have seen worse on the show it is hard to get to excited. Ven was awful but the challenge was worse. All the models should have been the same size. But of course life is not fair. It did not help that other designers were freaking out about it too, kind of behind his back, seemingly to make themselves feel better. When Jeffrey Sebelia (Season 3) went after Angela’s mother none of the other designers went to the clients aid, and she got a verbal beat down. Ven just seemed to be completely out of his element and boorish. I did not like the outfit. I felt the top was an ill fitted mess and I hate highlighted zipper elements on dresses, skirts or pants most of the time. I really hate them on pants, the most. JMHO.
    Just saw this in email 😆
    A young Louisiana woman was so depressed that she decided to end her life by throwing herself into the Gulf, but just before she could throw herself from the docks, a handsome young cajun man stopped her.
    “You have so much to live for,” said the man. “I’m a sailor, and we are off to Italy tomorrow.I can stow you away on my ship. I’ll take care of you, bring you food every day, and keep you happy.
    With nothing to lose, combined with the fact that she had always wanted to go to Italy , the woman accepted.
    That night the sailor brought her aboard and hid her in a small but comfortable compartment in the hold.
    From then on, every night he would bring her three sandwiches, a bottle of red wine, and make love to her until dawn.
    Two weeks later she was discovered by the captain during a routine inspection.
    “What are you doing here?” asked the captain.
    “I have an arrangement with one of the sailors,” she replied. “He brings me food and I get a free trip to Italy .”
    “I see,” the captain says.
    Her conscience got the best of her and she added, “Plus, he’s screwing me.”
    “He certainly is,” replied the captain. “This is the Cameron Parish Ferry.”
    So I was going through some old Bravo blogs and I saw a picture taken of Teresa, Caroline & Jacqueline together, each holding a bottle of BLK. This was taken last September so it would be I imagine before season 4 wrapped.
    Anyway, Teresa is standing next to Caroline, who is in the middle. And Teresa looks absolutely miserable. I am sure she was not happy being there with these two nasty women; Caroline had a smile on her face that I never saw before.
    I have never seen a picture without Teresa smiling. This was so telling.
      THanks for that BB. I couldn’t find anything about it on CBS’s sucky website. I’ll check it out.. 😀
  35. aranda says:
    Anyone filming a reality TV show is a fame-whore IMO. It doesn’t matter what their intentions are in filming; it doesn’t matter if they simply want the fame and attention and think it will be fun; it doesn’t matter if they simply want the money, and it doesn’t matter if they simply want to establish a “brand”. It may be that their intentions in filming are all these things and more! Who knows? They are all still fame-whores whether or not you like them or dislike them, and whether or not you approve or disapprove of their behavior.
    In the matter of Teresa Giudice, I have read many well-deserved and negative comments on this blog regarding her behavior and presence on the show, and agree with the comments for the most part. For me, she has often times behaved in a manner that I would not begin to try and defend even if I wanted to, and I adamantly do not.
    However, one thing I will give Teresa Giudice credit for is the fact she did not begin filming a realty TV show knowing that it would tear her immediate family apart. Who would do such a thing??? Oh, that’s right, Teresa’s brother and sister-in-law and her first cousin would and did—that’s who!
    I believe it is true Teresa does not want to share the spotlight with her family and I believe it is true she is very competitive with her family, especially Melissa and that is childish and selfish behavior. But I do not believe Teresa would have begun filming the show knowing she would have to eventually share the filming with her brother, SIL and cousin because she knew that to do so would publicly reveal the dysfunction and disharmony within her family, and ultimately decimate the entire family (which clearly it has done)! Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Joe and Melissa Gorga or Kathy Wakile and her husband, as evidenced by the fact they entered into filming with the knowledge this would happen and proceeded anyway.
    As to the question of Teresa selling articles to magazines, she has stated several times that she is paid for the photo sessions and answers the magazines’ questions, but that she has no editorial control over whether articles appear or the content of such articles. If I were famous like Teresa with the enormous debt they have, I would do exactly what she is doing, although I have to agree that it is a distasteful (albeit legal) way of doing so.
    If you are famous, magazines print articles about you that are false and inaccurate whether you cooperate with them or not, and pictures are taken of you daily with or without your permission; so, why not get paid for the things that will occur with or without your consent? Any thinking adult knows that you can believe very little that you read in publications today, and that truth-in-reporting exists on a very limited basis in this world. Statements made can easily be skewed to fit a magazine header created with the sole intent of selling copies.
    Teresa is famous now and she is simply dealing with the consequences of her fame. Unfortunately for her, fame is a bell you cannot un-ring!
    • VV says:
      That is an interesting take. However, I’m of the opinion that it is Bravo and Bravo producers or crew the ones that are feeding stories to the magazines. This network is on a mission to destroy thc Giudices. Bravo is powerful network and they love to toy with their viewers and cast but they can be nasty too if in their opinion you deserve it.
      • aranda says:
        You may be right, but I hope you are wrong! None of these realty stars deserve to be singled-out for destruction by anyone, let alone the network that airs their shows I am not fond of many of the people on Bravo’s reality programs, but I would not wish that type of destruction on anyone…
        • lovemamaearth says:
          None of these realty stars deserve to be singled-out for destruction by anyone, let alone the network that airs their shows
          ^^^^^
          I agree. Interesting longer piece above. I suspect as often as not it’s co-“star” who leak stories. Bravo might about Ter because she pushed him down in his chair like he was a cheeto so she could go on ranting. I doubt he forgives her for that. I think Taylor leaked stories about her own storyline so she could get the press and the attention.
          I think it was Quincy who wrote that Carole being on NY has upped her book sales considerably which is what I suspected as her reason for coming on the show and now she also has a sitcom coming out. Since she’s rumored to be friends with Andy I’m not surprised that Carole is getting the queen edit. And maybe she deserves. Maybe not any more than the others though. I have zero respect for Bravo or for Andy Cohen. And now little respect for Anderson Cooper for stooping down into the Andy gutter.
      • klmh says:
        Now that’s an interesting take on the situation. Is there a reason Bravo wants to take these lovely pillars of the community downtown? Have the Giudice’s done something to offend Bravo, or are you saying that its all about the storyline and script to make more money for their themselves (Bravo), or is it just because they exist, or do they have a vendetta against them?
        Thanks.
        • Rebecca says:
          They don’t want to “take them down” as much as they need to dig up publicity. They get 20% of the profits from the Housewives business ventures spun off from the show. Teresa is profitable. The more she makes it into the press (no matter how much it hurts her personally), the better the name and brand recognition. It’s sad, but money makes the world go round. Teresa is so far in debt, she has no choice but to keep it going – however I don’t think she’s smart enough to see how sick this really is.
          • klmh says:
            Thats as good a guess as any if you feel the need to blame someone else for their predicament . I find it interesting though that people think Bravo is the culprit. The
            Giudice’s are doing a very good job of destroying their own lives, imo, and it started before the HWNJ series began.
            I’ve always been suspicious of the thought of anyone bringing tens of thousands of dollars to a furniture store to purchase items though. Kind of makes you think of income not reported for tax purposes, and T. let us know that’s how she pays for all of her purchases (1st season).
            • RealHousewifeVA says:
              I would bet good money that the majority of the cast of NJ had income that was not reported. They almost all run cash businesses, and lots of people with cash businesses do that. Once, my husband and I were looking to buy a Dollar Store business. When it came down to what the store made yearly, it was very clear, without being directly told to us, that what was reported, and what we could potentially actually make- were two different numbers. Basically they had a seperate cash register that was used to ring up purchases that were not being reported. It was definitely eye opening.
              Also, when my sister got divorced, her husband was able to get around the system BIG TIME because he hid loads of money from his cash business. What he reported he earned, and what he actually earned, screwed her over in a major way when it came to child support and alimony.
              • klmh says:
                Seriously, you carried 10’s of thousands of dollars around in your purse?
                Anyway, we know for a fact that during their bankruptcy declaration, both Joe and Teresa had not declared business earnings for income tax purposes, and also forgot to list the businesses themselves! Its all on record…
    • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:
      Aranda,
      I totally agree with everything you just said.
      I also agree with VV that it is BRAVO and people connected to BRAVO selling some of these stories. And I ALSO believe that some of Teresa’s own castmates were selling stories about her and trying to blame it all on her. I personally think that is one of the reasons Jac was so pissed that Teresa was not spilling her guts. Without Teresa spilling her guts, she had nothing to report back to Caroline and the others, who wanted to make their own money from those rags (and who also probably wanted to smear Teresa and make her look bad in them). Many of those articles, if you really read them, take quotes from actual things people said ON THE SHOW. It’s not like Teresa is saying that they said these things. Yet, they are all blaming her for it and insisting that she said those exact words.
      They want to take her down and get her removed or have her run off from the show. Period.
      They just never counted on her being so strong.
      • aranda says:
        Detox,
        Your statement about the magazine articles actually taking quotes directly from the shows is spot-on and something I have noticed and thought about before, but neglected to include in my comments.above. As tor Jacqueline, you may be accurate in her motiviations but who knows? She certainly would not be much of a friend if you are correct!
      • plainviewsue says:
        Detox, I just commented the same thing about the article quotes on Quincy’s facebook blog. If you read the articles, and I’ve read a few, the quotes are verbatem from either the show or the blogs.
        How dare Caroline go ballistic on Teresa tonight because of a quote about Kathy in a magazine!!!!! Kathy agreed that Richie says negative things about Teresa on the season 3 reunion, but it’s all a joke Ha Ha. Teresa has heard the crap that Kathy has said about her as well. Why doesn’t Caroline go after Kathy on that? We all know the answer. Caroline needs to have numbers on her side. She needs everyone to hate Teresa as much as she does.
        Like you said, they just never counted on her being so strong.
        • Birdwoman says:
          I completely agree Detox and Plainviewsue. I decided not to watch tonight because I am just so sick of people being ganged up on. I can’t stomach watching WWHL to see Caroline continue to spew her hatred.
      • mrs peabody says:
        I don’t see much of a difference between Teresa answering questions asked her during the photo shoots she does and the others getting on tweeter and bashing her, the comments made by both sides are out there, one in a magazine with who knows what was really said since I don’t tend to believe those mags anyway and the other out there on tweeter and those comments are the actual comments the sender said, not rewritten by a writer. In my opinion I don’t think any of them have anything to comment about what Teresa is doing when they are doing the exact same thing themselves only a different venue. Pot meets kettle!
    I happened to catch the mini NJ marathon on bravo. Started watching it while all where canoeing just about before Melissa freaks out. For all the talk about “respect” or “being nice to one another” Joe Gorga telling his wife to shut up was rude! I have to wonder if they put on an act while the camera’s are on. They behave horribly towards each other i.e swearing.
    Potamus thank you for the Nannies of BH recap. I’m all caught up and completely floored by Auri? Ari’s behavior! I’m sure there is more to that then we will ever know. But treating Amber like dirt was horrible.
  43. I Need A Life! says:
    Hi, everyone. I was looking for gossip on Chicago Mob Wives, and I came across a mob housewife blogger who was supposedly contacted by what sounds like someone affiliated with the production of the show. Here’s the scoop on the cast.
    Turns out that the production of a second season is up in the air until they re-cast the show. Since Mob Wives NY was such a, “hit,” they rushed to do Chicago. The producer is a mob daughter, (Renee’s sister), and she knew NY girls, but was lost in Chicago. Real mob wives in Chicago never talk, so it was hard to find inside info. A few months ago, a reporter wrote, “The mob is dead in Chicago. They’ve died from embarrassment with the show Mob Wives Chicago.”
    The best mob wife is a gal named, Loren Maltese. She was literally married to the mob. Her mobster husband died, and she served as a mayor in a crazy suburb. She spent time in prison for ripping off tax payers. She turned down the offer to do this show because it was, “stupid.”
    So Nora, the German’s daughter, is rumored to be done. Over. No more. Her story line ended. Christine is not going to be signed on according to this source. She really needed the money. They were only keeping her as a filler, which is why she started the fight in the first show. She knew what producer’s were looking for. Her dad wasn’t really a mobster. He was a petty thief. Mob doesn’t need a petty thief.
    Leah is called the Lion King in her neighborhood because of the hair. Producers like the way she came across. Her dad is a “retired mobster.” I watched the Sopranos. I didn’t know they had a retirement plan. Something about his background makes no sense. I don’t think she has mob ties either. The producers were just filling in cast.
    Pia does have real ties to the mob. The insider says that she is staying. They like the storyline of stripper goes straight.
    Rene is staying and might be in line for a reality show based on her life, and eye shop. (I think it’s a waste of energy.) Rumor has it that her father is the one who botched the murder of the Spilotro brothers. He didn’t hide the bodies securely. Found by a farmer in Indiana. Her father “disappeared. ”
    Enjoy Jersey tonight!
    • Lulu says:
      It’s laughable that they chose “little Italy” as a “mob area?” Really a posh hipster area? Ummmm No! Wrong neighborhood not even close!
      • I Need A Life! says:
        Lulu, I was born on the corner that Leah lives! I’m thankful that my dad did his best to educate us and get out. Too bad. The real estate is now worth a fortune. My dad’s cousin owns many of those buildings on Taylor St. The producers couldn’t find a “mob area.” Do you think your neighbor in Chicago will say he’s in the mob!!
        • COCFarm says:
          I thought I was replying to you but I messed up! See my two comments below about mobs in Chicago.
        • Lulu says:
          LOL!! Bravo is delusional if they think that this hardcore “mobster” lifestyle exist in Chicago. Sorry Bravo but the days of “goodfellas” or “godfather” are over.
      • lovemamaearth says:
        Lulu? You know that area? Do you know any of the people?
        • Lulu says:
          Don’t know any of them. I know the name is “little Italy” but the mobsters long left that area.
  44. COCFarm says:
    I thought that was funny as well. Taylor street may have been a mob area a LONG time ago but not now. Chicago has an interesting mob history. Have you ever looked at the poster of what mobs ruled which areas from the 1930’s? Very interesting to see their coverage. And aren’t gangs the new ‘mobs’ of Chicago?
    • LaineyLainey says:
      The gangs are huge in Chicago. Most of the crime especially violent crimes are attributed to the gangs. What’s next? Reality shows about the gangs and their “wives”, children, etc.
      • COCFarm says:
        Sadly, probably. I can’t believe how many shootings we have here lately. Out of town family is always saying things like, ‘we don’t want to come visit you because we’re afraid of getting shot.’ It’s hard for people to understand it is in generally, very specific areas. But gangs are a huge problem…but they seem to have stronger footholds in the suburbs.
        • LaineyLainey says:
          Yes, it is sad the way they can ruin a nice city’s reputation. But you wouldn’t want to be caught in any of those specific areas would you? I wouldn’t. It is very scary. Reminds of the death and destruction going on in Mexico. It is right up to the borders of Texas. The innocent and the working poor suffer the most. Tourism is way down and that is something the tiny middle class and working poor relied upon for their livelihoods. There seems to be no solution in sight. Sorry for being a Debbie Downer.
  45. LaineyLainey says:
