Joanna Krupa “I was not a high priced hooker” and other Housewife News by NoMoreDrama

Joanna Krupta‘s lawyer has fired off a letter to Nik Richie at TheDirty dot com claiming the article alleging that Joanna was a high priced hooker is full of lies.  Richie claimed that someone had come forward with claims that Joanna was an escort, charging $10,000 a night.  Joanna’s lawyer says they’ll sue unless Richie pulls the article.  Coincidentally, Richie is on couples therapy – so both have reason to try and get some press. In May of this year, Richie shot down rumors that his wife Shayne Lamas was joining Real Housewives of Orange County according to RealityTea.

Things don’t look great for NeNe Leakes signing on to another season of Real Housewives of Atlanta.  The New Normal – the sitcom NeNe is on – has been picked up for a full season. She is rumored to be moving to Los Angeles full time according to WetPaint.

Real Housewives of New York Season 4 was not a ratings hit.  The finale brought in so-so numbers – under the 2 million mark – and overall the season’s ratings were lower than S2 and S3, but higher than S1.  Now the questions begin on which cast members will return.  HuffPost’s NaughtbutNice Rob tweeted:  “I hear @Jillzarin is returning to @Bravotv as a guest on its late night talk show. Get ready!”  JZ’s response: “Who did u hear that from?“  As for returning to the show – she did respond to this tweet:  “Can you imagine these new chicks with@Jillzarin? She would have all those overbites at the dentist stat!”  JZ’s response: “Wink wink!”

Meanwhile in Brooklyn …

Alex is back on TV – VH1’s Couples Therapy – and also had this announcement to her twitter peeps “Announcement!! I’m thrilled to say our 10 pc towel set & bath sheet is available RIGHT NOW on Groupon Goods!! http://bit.ly/AlexTowels

Former cast mate Bethenny was quick to congratulate her, and more importantly tweet out the link to Bethenny’s million plus followers.  “Congrats @mccordalex on your towels on groupon!http://bit.ly/AlexTowels “

Alex tweeted back: “Thanks & congrats on talk show pickup!!”

It is really nice to see them supporting each other.

What would the end of a season be without rumors on who will or will not return.  Is there anyone you’d like to see return?  Here’s a poll – but feel free to add others in the comments.  You may vote more than once.

Life After Top Chef By Keida

The episode opens with Spike’s family’s restaurant Good Stuff Eatery.  His mom is the overall boss; she has the most experience of the family.  His dad runs the numbers; he’s the numbers guy.  I don’t quite know what his sister does, but according to Spike, he’s her b*tch.  I wonder if she handles PR type stuff.  Whenever they show Spike in the kitchen, he seems like a strong, capable leader.  Has he grown since his Top Chef days?  In one of his restaurants, a flat top stove is out of work, and Spike easily takes control.  He talks with the repairman while cooking, tries to get it fixed on Sunday, but it doesn’t work, yet he stays cool.  He definitely has a self-assuredness that doesn’t seem cocky, at least in the kitchen.

In Atlanta, Blais is opening his new fine dining restaurant The Spence.  Right now, he’s in construction phase, so he, his wife, and two daughters meet one of his partners at the space.  Blais is his usual harried self who seems to always be thinking about what he can do to reach perfection.  I agree that one should try for perfection, but nothing’s perfect.

Fabio.  He wants to be the male Martha Stewart, and if anyone could be, it would be Fabio.  The scene opens with him getting ready for the cooking classes at his restaurant.  He tweets about these often, although not lately.  Fabio has a partner Jacopo who is like a brother to him.  They banter with each other during the cooking class, and of course, Fabio takes care of the ladies.  He knows how to work a room.  He has two classes with only 10 minutes in between and afterwards both he and Jacopo will fly to Aspen.  Wow.

Jenn is in DC to take over a restaurant for the night.  She was formerly lead chef with Eric Ripert, but she left his restaurant to open her own, Concrete Blonde.  He tells her that she shouldn’t leave her job without making sure that the investors and contract is locked in, but does she listen? No.  That’s Jenn Carroll, the badass.  Although, that’s also what gets her in trouble, her stubbornness.  So now, she has no investors and is looking for new ones.  Mike Isabella shows up for the night.  He’s kind of a playful jerk; I like him though.  He busts her chops a bit.  Mike has opened a restaurant in DC called Graffiato.  He’s gotten some great reviews, and you can follow him on twitter to hear all about it.  Jenn’s specialty is seafood, which I think is gross.  For the first time in my life, I ate at Red Lobster, I know, right?, and tried lobster, shrimp, and crab.  Of all, I liked crab the best, but there’s no denying, I’d rather eat at Spike’s place.  During that night, Jenn seems at ease in her element.  She’s not pushy, but strong and steady, like the undercurrent of a river.  That’s Jenn Carroll.  Oh, btw, it was very gross to see the chefs playing with the small octopi.

The first to arrive at the Aspen Food & Wine Festival is, of course, Fabio.  He’s led into a HUGE suite with a MASSIVE kitchen.  Even I want to cook in that kitchen, and I DON’T COOK.  He’s making his room his own by spraying the bed, the coverlet, the pillows, his shirts with endless pumps of his cologne.  Oh my gosh, I hope no one has respiratory problems.  Blais soon walks in, and he looks TIRED, which is the first thing that Fabio tells him.  They banter back and forth and Blais teases Fabio about his shirt.  They’re both a little snarky.  What happened to the bromance?  Richard comments on Fabio’s cologne.  Ya think?  Fabio turns in for he night with his Grey Goose vodka and Nutella.  Gross.

The next day, both chefs arrive in the kitchen.  They are preparing an entrée for 1000 people.  Top Chef Texas winner Paul Qui is there.  I love that Paul won.  Of the three chefs, only Blais has his chef’s jacket.  Typical Blais.  While prepping, Fabio describes his food as grandma’s comfort food, while Richard’s is complicated, very high class, and high brow.  Both seem very b*tchy in the kitchen.  Of course, Fabio is making gnocchi.  Someone should tell him this isn’t Top Chef Gnocchi since every dish on All-Stars had a gnocchi element.  Jenn arrives 2 hours before and none of her shipped food has arrived save one box.  Unbeknownst to her, she’s in a Top Chef challenge and must figure something out.  What’s weird is her boxes have arrived, they’ve been accepted and signed for, but where are they?  No one knows.  So she’s having to use the kitchen’s frozen shrimp.  I feel for her.  Spike shows up 30 min or so before.  Blais feels that he’s a cocky arrogant guy.  I thought so too, but in his kitchen he doesn’t come off that way.  Calmly he walks around the kitchen, finds some sous chefs to help him, and gets it done.  Blais made an English dish with blood sausage, that I didn’t get to see the finished product, and Spike made fish and chips, which looked delicious, and I’ve never eaten fish and chips, not even when I was in England.

There are so many famous chefs at this event.  I see Marcus Samulsson, Jose Andres, and Dana Cowin, the editor of Food & Wine magazine.  She’s the most powerful woman in food.  She talks with each of the chefs, and Jenn tells her about her predicament with her restaurant.  I don’t know that I would tell this to the most powerful woman in food.  During the pictures, Spike is the only one without an apron.  This tells you everything.

Later, they go out to eat together.  They all give up their phones and put them in a pile, which freaks Fabio out!  It’s quite funny.  I’m sure Bethenny is the same way.  Blais is ragging on Spike a little hard.  He teases Spike about not being able to break away from the hamburger and fries cuisine.  In his talking head, Spike says that his food belongs on Earth; Richard’s food belongs on Mars.  Haha.  Spike is a bit of a jerk when he advocates Jenn posing for Playboy.  Whatever.  She’s a chef, not a bimbo.  Sorry, was that judgmental?  Yeah, just a bit.  At the table, while each are discussing their restaurants and businesses, Jenn is the only one who doesn’t have one.  She’s definitely feeling the pressure to get her restaurant started.  She can do it if she puts her head into it.  But she doesn’t seem to be doing that; she seems lost.

The last scene is back at the hotel suite, Richard is on the phone with his wife and kids.  She’s definitely not happy.  She chides him about the hours he keeps working at the restaurant, and whether or not he’s going to spend time with the kids.  They have a 24 hour nanny?!  Was that real or a joke?  Seems a bit much.  I don’t really want to comment on their situation because I’m also going through something similar.  Just know, that right now Richard has no happy life and no happy wife.  He’s going to have to figure out how to balance home and work.  Good luck Blais.

I’m really enjoying this show.

  • Peter “Pete” Yurkowski, 24, Holmdel, New Jersey, engineering graduate
  • Michael Skupin – Returning player who passed out and burned the skin off of his palms after falling into a fire.

Last week, Ms Roxy Morris talked herself right off of the island when her entire tribe voted to send her home. This leaves the Matzing (blue) tribe down two at four with a dictator wannabe as the head honcho. Exactly what each saw as her sin, I’m not completely sure but I think they just saw her as weak. Penner from the Kalabaw (red) tribe had found a hidden immunity idol so he’s probably feeling the power right about now. Lets not forget however, that his tribe, is the only one that seems to wan the ‘veteran’ gone first. Lisa from Tandang confided that she’s a recluse or as she put it, an introvert unless she has an acting role, and, I still don’t like RC from the same tribe. She’s comes across as shady. Those two things almost guarantee her to be around, at the very least, til the final 2 or 3 (however they are doing it), and quite possibly the winner. You read it here first folks (and it could be completely wrong 😛 ).

So grab your island garments and let’s get started. We are at day 6 and Blue is returning from council. Russell recognizes that Malcom and Angie have a very tight alliance and if Denise sides with the younger ones, he’s a goner. We open day 7 with RC and Abi laying on the beach discussing things. Abi notes that she doesn’t trust RC with that idol clue and she’s basically looking out for herself. She also notes, in TH, that she’s injured her knee twice since she’s been there. RC of course is trying to convince her that she can be trusted. What it comes down to is Abi is boohooing that she may be a liability and RC is trying to reassure her, she isn’t. We then see RC with Mike as she discusses it with him for a second and then they swim off. Next, Abi is talking with Peter as she feels he’s a little more genuine, about where the idol may be and she’s spilled the beans that the clue has been found. Who is the one who cannot be trusted? Even though RC, Abi, Peter, and Mike are allied, Peter knows that an alliance is only as good as the day it’s made. In other words, he’s in it as long as it helps him. We then see him talking with Lisa. He doesn’t want her to go, yet, because he figures she’ll be easy to get rid of closer to the end. He tells her that she is likely the first one gone. Good for her to know where she stands with these people (she already knew). The plan or suggestion, is to blindside Mike. She wants to get rid of RC but she figures whatever keeps her in the game, she’ll do. Peter now has a proxy if this all plays out the way he wants. Remember they haven’t even had the day’s challenges yet and they’re already politicking on who to get rid of. Lisa says she’s not a poker player but she feels like she’s been dealt a new hand.

Over at Kalabaw (red), they are relaxing a bit and complaining that their rear ends are sore, probably from sitting on the hard uneven seats. Dana is bringing in the container of rice and a couple of the tribe members notice something is missing from the top of the container. Of course they only noticed it being there when it wasn’t there anymore. Privately, the deduce that Johnathan (Penner) has it and they’re kicking themselves for not seeing it first. Perhaps, there goes their plan to get rid of him first.

Meanwhile, over at Matzing (Blue), they notice their raft is gone. The tide apparently just came in and got it (that’s why they should tie it to a tree or something like that but what do I know? ). Denise and Malcolm are discussing the previous night’s tribal council and the fact that he and Angie got torn to shreds about being a couple. It would really be in their best interest to do everything they can to win from here on out. What apparently no one knows, or what they are saying anyway, the true alliance is Malcolm and Denise. Next to go are either Angie or Russell. Unless there is a tie (noting only, this hasn’t been said) two is enough to send one of them packing.

It’s challenge time… It’s a puzzle game. The object is to dive in the water, one member at a time and collect a puzzle piece. The one on top should be pretty simple but they are all bound to an anchor (I assume) by a rope and each consecutive piece is deeper down. Looks to be about 20 feet below the surface (they are on a huge raft by the way). Once they have the puzzle pieces they put them on a rod and combo lock style, spell out a word. First two teams to do that, win. (I hope they keep them in order as they bring them up). Since Blue is down two people, Red and Yellow must also sit two out. Sitting out for Yellow, Lisa and Abi with her hurt knee. For Red, Katie and Dawson. They are also playing for reward. Aren’t there any separate reward challenges this time? The winner gets a nice fishing kit with all the fixings including a canoe that will be waiting for them back at camp. The second place, gets a smaller fishing kit, no canoe. The loser, gets a trip to tribal council. Let’s see how this all plays out.

Highlights.

Katie goes first for blue and cannot get the first piece loose from the rope. The way it’s done is it has to be pushed down and the rope pushed through the hole like a keyhole (but it isn’t actually keyed). By the time she gets it loose, the other two teams have two pieces already. Russell goes next and gets the piece okay but cannot pull himself out of the water right away. They are all wearing swim goggles (shared) as they do this, and after Mike goes, somehow, he’s managed to cut himself below the eyes with the goggles. The glass shattered.

A few more highlights of the swim and dive meet. Denise from Blue, looks to be the woman star on that team. Russell can barely pull his own ass out of the water up a ladder and he comes back from his second trip empty handed. I think this is all going to be up to Denise and Malcolm. RC on Yellow, goes 3 times in a row. Followed by Mike again (the goggles are trashed and gone). Over on Red, everyone is pulling their own weight and moving right along and they are the first to collect all 8 pieces. RC goes for a 4th time for the 8th piece. These two teams can begin working on their puzzles (the word they are trying to spell is Treasure). Denise and Malcom do the diving work to collect the remaining 4 pieces and they can begin.

Here is how it shook out. Red- Kalabaw wins first, Yellow- Tandang takes second, and guess what kiddies? Blue, Matzing, is once again, dead last by what looked like seconds. Personally, I place this lose completely on Russell’s shoulders because A: He couldn’t pull himself out of the water (not so sure I could have either), and B: He missed getting a piece on one of his two trips. His big muscular mass worked against him in this challenge. I guess the order didn’t matter if all the wheels were identical (I think they should throw that little twist in there sometime). Any bets on who is going home? I’ll bet it ain’t Russell. Could be wrong, Let’s see. Angie’s talking head, she calls him the weak link.

Back at Kalabaw camp, Jeff and Penner are discussing things and Penner confesses to Jeff that he has the idol. They basically agree to work together for awhile. They shake on it but according to Jeff, he gave the 4 finger non manly handshake so it doesn’t really count. We’ll see how that works out for him. Remember one of his tribemates knows he’s a pro baseball player so he’s got a bit of a target on his back as well. He just may not know it yet.

Over at yellow, We finally hear from Artis.. He’s disappointed in the outcome though the positive is, they don’t have to go to council. I think this is the first time I’ve heard this man speak. In case you’re wondering, he’s the other black guy on this game. He’s complaining that they didn’t win because of Mike breaking the goggles by doing a face plant in the water (He did) after Mike had told Artis, Not to jump in that way. Whatever. Mike is now in his sights. Is editing preparing us for Mike’s exit? We’ll see but it isn’t going to happen on this episode. Everyone but Abi and Peter go into the water to dig for clams. Guess what Abi and Peter are doing? No, Not that… They’re looking for the idol. The clue says Near your beach, under your nose. Guess what she found? Yep, the idol.. Will she tell RC? Will Peter tell RC? The plot thickens. Physically, it’s apparent that RC is a definite asset to this team. I actually gained some respect for her in this episode (so far), she’s not a weak player. They find a place back in the woods to ‘bury’ it next to the trail. Since Abi found it, it belongs to her. Peter says we don’t need it right now because they have numbers. He’s relatively certain that he has Lisa and can get Artis to bounce Mike and neutralize RC.

Over at Matzing (blue).. I’m sure at this point, Russell knows he better get his ass in gear and find that idol. He’s the one who found the clue but to my knowledge, not the idol. I hope they didn’t use the rice lid for kindling. I Really like Denise in this game. She’s about 5’3″ inches of solid muscle. Privately, she’s bitching about Russell and Angie. So is Malcom.. ‘Built like an ox but can’t climb a 3 foot ladder’. He has a few choice words for Angie as well (cough cough, worthless in the game). He’s stuck with the goober of a tribe (I don’t know what he really said). He and Denise are off privately talking and up walks Angie and she notes that she can do, never said she couldn’t… Ummm, Challenge #3 sweetie, don’t you think it’s time you started? Denise is unsure that Malcom will vote Angie out. Cut to Russell who intermingled with his talking head, is praying. Good time for it. He asks what is it about the game that fights him so much. Over at another location, Angie is working on Malcom again. I’ll give her this, she’s persistent. Persistently bad at this game, physically. She claims she would have went in the water again (to fail) but Denise just beat her to it. I think Denise is twice plus one Angie’s age and kicks the big headlighted beauty queen’s ass at everything. I really do have a lot of respect for Denise. Angie also notes that Russell is 20 years older than her which makes him the same age as Denise, who is 41. In his talking head before they go to council (He still hasn’t found the idol, I don’t think), he invokes his ancestors who came through the middle passage and Jim Crow. He’s going to draw on their strength at council because they endured so much more than he has in  his life or ever will and certainly ‘in this damn game’. They head off to council.

Pathetic looking, Ain’t they? Probst gets to the questions. “Denise, what did you sacrifice to come out here?” – her reply – Six weeks away from her daughter, her husband, her private practice so she’s losing income and hopes her clients are okay (she’s a therapist) but there’s no way she’s giving up. To Malcom – “What does being here mean to you?” – he replies that the first season of survivor aired when he was 12 and he remembers laying in his bed thinking how cool that it would be to be on the show. A decade or so later, there he is, on the worse tribe and he begins to unload a little bit about it. Is he worried about his pride for being on the worse team or is he just worried about going home? He says it’s heartbreaking. Probst asks, Heartbreaking, not Frustrated? He answers, day 3, frustrated. Day 8, heartbroken. Then he does something that baffles me a little bit. He says that people who could have should have stepped up during the challenge. He definitely threw a rock at Angie and Russell but he also did it to himself and Denise by saying they could have gone more. The 5th grade dodge ball everyone gets a turn, is BS is basically what he said. Go with the assets, which today, would have been him, and Denise. Probst asks Angie about her performance and she says something… We’ve already heard it. She doesn’t think she should go home but quitter Russell has Got To Go (my words). Then we get to Russell. He says he didn’t quit but made a ‘strategic decision’ when he saw he wasn’t doing well.

Okay, let’s go with that. I say bull but, let’s go with that anyway. If it was a strategic decision, he should have stayed on the raft and let Denise or Malcolm go. His plea is that going forward, for 30 days, Angie just doesn’t have the strength, intellect, or stamina to handle the game. She disagrees of course. Russell lets her have it. He says it is She who gave up and she can try all the revisionist would have history she wants but the fact is, once she got the first puzzle piece, she was done. I agree. Angie feels an inch tall at this point and here come the water works. (Kill me now). It becomes a question of Strength and Loyalty. Loyalty is paramount says Malcolm but only if you make it to the end or even the merge. Enough of this… I think Angie sobbed her way past the vote and swayed Malcolm. Let’s see… Time to vote.

Naturally, Angie and Russ vote for each other. Jeff goes to tally the votes after they return. He asks for the idol, No one has it. Time to read the votes… Any guesses?

3 to one. She’s gone. Malcolm gave up his cuddle buddy for the chance at the money. Wise move. I don’t think there was any question in Denise’s mind of what to do.

See you next time kids.

MTH.

Couple’s Therapy Episode 1 by Lulu

Day 1

First couple to arrive Doug and Courtney.  Huge age gap Doug is 51 and his wife is 17???  Their problem is she’s extremely immature.  She dresses like a porn star and attracts negative attention wherever they are.  Doug feels like he is raising his wife.  Also brings up that his family and agent all disowned him since they felt that this “marriage” is toxic.

Nick and Shayne.

Shayne is the first season’s pick of bachelor and Nick is the owner of “the dirty.”  Their issue is that they married in Vegas after only knowing each other for 8 hours.  Now their at each others throats about everything. Shayne is there out of concern for their 8 month old daughter.  She wants to see if they can salvage anything.

Silex

Both blame the RHONY for their relationship’s demise.  The years of negative tabloids, fellow castmate alienation and being fired led to their current state.  Their arguments have become more intense and nasty.  They fear that they are on the wrong path.  Recent incident Alex threatened Simon with divorce.

Jojo and Taushaunda

Their problem is that Jojo is an alcoholic.  When he’s sober he’s a sweetheart but really nasty when drunk.  She is there to give him a wake up call.  If he continues to drink he will die since his liver and pancreas are in bad shape.

Couple’s meet and greet

As all the couple settle down and introduce each other.  Off the bat Nik recognizes Doug and Courtney since she is frequently bashed on his site.  Shayne makes a comment about the way Courtney is dressed and that starts and argument.  Shayne feels Courtney is there for all the wrong reasons just for the publicity. This starts an argument with Nik calling Courtney trash.  Both Nik and Doug have to be pulled apart.

Group room

Dr Jenn addresses the lack of a bond in this particular group.  Tries to determine what exactly is the problem. She asks Nik to voice his opinion that is quickly slammed down by Doug.  He says what are you gonna say that I’m molesting my wife?  Nik responds to this by saying that he feels there is a couple (Doug and Courtney) are being inauthentic.  Dr Jenn responds to this by stating if that’s the case she will get to the bottom of it.

After group outside

Nik again brings up Doug and Courtney’s “relationship” to Simon.  At that moment Doug joins them and demands an apology.  Before things escalate the counselor Tom steps in and diffuses the situation.

(Next week Lulu and her husband will be blogging this from a husband-wife perspective – NMD)

Real Housewives of New Jersey Cast Blogs by RamonaCoaster

(only Caroline and Teresa had their blogs up at the time these were blogged)

Caroline Manzo

Hey guys, so what did you think of RHONJ Reunion Part 1? Pretty intense, right?

First and foremost I want you all to understand how taxing the reunion taping process is. We are literally sitting rehashing what feels like every single moment of the season for nearly 12 hours. I think we experience every single emotion during that time, and when we are finished we are completely drained. I have to be honest, sitting here writing this blog isn’t exactly a blast either, but I suppose we each owe you the chance to read our take on things one last time.

A much longer blog than usual. You must be in a good mood. Spending all that time harassing Teresa would have been such a waste but you finally got her mad and screaming proving what an animal she is and you can look like the victim. Persistence is key.

I have so many thoughts running through my mind right now, and I don’t want to ramble, so I may keep this short and do a summary at the end of Part 3, let’s see where this goes.

Thoughts like “What can I say to get her to flip a table and throw Andy across the room.”  Reunion 3 must be where you think you come out the victor in your own head.

The “old hag” and the “triple blubber” comment… I’m a big girl, and I’m very aware of my shortcomings. Yes, I am getting older, and yes, I do struggle with my weight and have a wrinkle here and there. I got a tummy tuck when I was 39, which was 12 years ago. I’ve never hidden it, but I don’t understand the relevance; in the spirit of full disclosure I had the chicken pox in 1970 and a hang nail about a month ago. Oh wait, I also get kidney stones, migraines, and have recently developed hypertension (I wonder why…).

So maybe a reality show is too much for you. You might get kidney failure.

On the other hand, there are people in this world that struggle every single day with their self-image and sometimes they aren’t capable of brushing negative comments off, my daughter being one of them. I love her to death for sticking up for me, but I don’t like seeing my children dragging themselves into the mess.

So why let her go on the reunion show? She made an *ss out of herself. Ignoring Teresa would have been classier.

What Teresa said hit home for her, and she needed to let Teresa know how she felt about it. Sticks and stones.

I think every time Teresa comments about weight, Lauren will think she’s trashing her.

As far as the chaos that ensued between Kathy, Teresa, and Rosie shortly after, I tried to have a conversation with Teresa. I think we have to let that go for now to — it got VERY deep and VERY emotional. SAD.

The lesson learned is everyone can say what they want about Teresa but Teresa can’t fight back because you feel intellectually superior to her.

Teresa Giudice

Like every Housewife in every city, I think filming the reunion is one of the worst parts of our job. It’s a long, long day, it always gets ugly, it’s hard to sit through and even harder to watch. At least this year I knew what I was walking into: I knew the other cast members, even my family, were going to band together to bash me. Last year was a total shock. This year was just sickening and sad.

I didn’t like it either. I couldn’t watch the whole thing and kept leaving the room. Too disturbing.

I think one big difference between New Jersey and the other cities though is that most of the women on our show prepare for weeks for the ambush. They write little notes and look over every little thing I ever wrote. They’re so desperate to make me look bad. Here’s the thing: I don’t care. I know who I am and I don’t need to prove it to any of them. And I’m certainly not going to waste my off-camera, family time looking up words in the dictionary and making obsessive lists about them.

Regarding “napalm”, I would have asked Lauren the definition, the language of origin and to say it in a sentence.  I know. I’ve been to a few spelling bees in my day.

I’m not proud of everything I said at the reunion, but I am proud of the things I DIDN’T say. As they were yelling at me, I kept reminding myself not to say this or that about their private lives, I kept thinking about Dina and her and Caroline’s mom, Nettie, and family stuff I did not want them to hear me say. It was a struggle because they attack me so viciously and yet they have their own skeletons, their own public scandals and newspaper articles and financial problems that don’t get discussed on the show, because I won’t discuss them. They do it to me, but I won’t do it back. So when Caroline fired at my appearance, yes I fired back. It wasn’t a great moment, but I can only be pushed so far.

Leave the fun of exposing everyone to the viewers.

Once we started going there with each other on our appearance, I guess it opened a can of worms for me that has really bothered me for a long time: Caroline’s hypocritical and crazy unhealthy view of herself and how her view upsets her daughter. First of all, I have no problem with Caroline’s body. Everybody is different and every size can be beautiful. But you have to own it, not lie about it. What I can’t stand is that Caroline has for years talked about how she loses weight naturally, she even did interviews on her “portion control,” meanwhile she’s hiding behind a secret surgery. I’m sorry, I don’t like that. It’s one thing to keep your private business private, but then don’t go being the poster child for natural weight loss and lying to everyone. And especially when you’re lying to the public, you’re helping create this body image lie that young girls are suffering from.

So why talk about her rolls calling them blubber, blubber and blubber?  Its even more hypocritical to make a comment like that when you talk about young girls suffering from body image disturbance.

And let’s get this straight: Lauren was 185 pounds. Not 285. She’s 24. Do you think major surgery chopping up your stomach is the answer for that extra 30 pounds? I don’t. The ones who are sending out the bad message to kids in America are Lauren and Caroline for acting like Lauren was a prehistoric beast before and the lap band saved her life. The lap band surgery is a miracle for some people, for people who are extremely unhealthy, who have tried everything, who’ve had babies and are older with slow metabolisms.

Lauren is going to have some problems with her digestion later on in life.  Lap band should be used as a last resort when people hear the word “comorbidities” from their doctor.

I have a habit of remembering certain words when I hear them and using them later in a totally different way. Like when I heard about John Mayer saying Jessica Simpson was “sexual napalm” I thought that was a really good description of how something clings to you, and I used “napalm” in my blog.

Too late. Lauren blew the lid off the ghostwriter blogging conspiracy. If you’re reading this Teresa, watch Apocalypse Now.   Robert Duvall makes excellent use of the word “napalm.”

Before the reunion my friend and I were talking about how I feel bad now about how everyone treated Danielle. I didn’t see it, how bad everyone was to her, until last year.  And my friend was like: “It’s like your living in a Judy Blume novel! You’re in Blubber! You were friends with the mean girls and you didn’t realize how mean they were until they turned on you!” I guess I just had that in my head and “blubber” came out! I didn’t plan to say something so crazy, the word was just in my head. I was thinking about a book about mean girls, not trying to be a mean girl! Sorry!

Maybe you should use notes next time.

There’s really not much more to say. Rosie shocked me, but then again, she really didn’t. I think you got to see a bit more of the Kathy that I know… And Melissa and Jacqueline… stay tuned because their crazy is just getting started!

Yous all have tempers. And yous all wants your fifteen minutes of fame. Does it smell like victory?

Good morning all. I can’t wait to read Simon’s therapy. Have a good day.

  2. Good Morning! have a great day Powell…and everyone!
Heading up to read now. And, I was almost 1st…but Powell, I defer the extra special prize to you, but I think you will have to fight Lainey for it. LOL!

New post, quotes and word today. Enjoy!

  3. BB says:

Thanks, everyone for the blogs! I watched Couples Therapy and was pleasantly surprised. Seems silly for Doug to be complaining about raising his 17 yr old wife because SHE WAS A CHILD WHEN HE MARRIED HER and she’s still a child. Don’t complain now buddy. They do strike me as being there for the 15 minutes of fame, not to get help. The others seem more sincere in wanting to save their marriages.

    • BB… When Doug’s wife had her official 18th bee day he asked Playboy to do a shoot for her..they turned her down..!!! LOL

      Div

      • BB says:

        That’s funny! I’m glad.

      • Powell says:

I know. I don’t know what made her think PB would want her. I heard comments in the media that maybe Hustler would be a better choice. I don’t think Larry Flynn would want her either.

      • EllaMinnowPea says:

They also got kicked out of a pumpkin patch last year for taking “provocative” photos while parents were there trying to pick out pumpkins with their kiddies. They’re both idiots.

    • kendo says:

They are sickening! He should be in jail!

    • lori says:

I just think the two of them are running out of ways to repulse the world and needed a new forum. They don’t honestly have marital issues like Jojo and his wife.

    • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:

Is it just me or does anyone else who watched the show (and/or who has ever seen Courtney Stodden’s interviews in the past) think that Courtney Stodden may have actual MENTAL problems?

I get the feeling that there is SERIOUSLY something wrong there.

I also get the feeling that her husband is taking advantage of that fact.

And I get the feeling that her parents, particularly her MOTHER is also taking advantage of that fact. From what I’ve read about Courtney’s mother, she’s allegedly a “stage Mom” who wants to garner fame and publicity for her daughter, which could lead to possible money that can go, not only into Doug and Courtney’s hands, but also into her own. I THINK the Mother may be some type of manager for Courtney, like Kris Kardashian and Dina Lohan. In short, the Mother probably wants her 10% and does not care about whoring out her daughter to get it. JMHO.

I just don’t think that poor girl is stable.

      • LaineyLainey says:

YOu could be right, Caroline. ahem, I mean, Detox. I kid. That makes sense; both things, the girl aint right, the mom be pimpin’

        • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:

ROFL. Lainey, you BITCH!!! You managed to INSULT me AND make me LAUGH MY ASS OFF at the same time!!

I love you. THAT was a GOOD one!

          • Called A Princess... says:

Detox, the first time I saw the Dugknees I thought that she was on drugs or drink. She seemed completely out of it. The whole story seemed to bad to be true. There are parents that would sell their own children to the devil. This story would be a good example of evil intent on many levels. It is one that I have steered away from because it just seems too dirty. JMHO.

          • LaineyLainey says:

LOL!!! Well that’s payback for all the times you bust me up when I’m sneaking the blog at work.

Lainey Lainey, I took the remarks personally because I am having trouble dealing with something over 4 years old. I am immature for not getting over it I guess, but Im afraid I always will be when it comes to her passing. I do apologize for extending the conversation to my problems.

Dame, although you called me a trailer trash turd, nah, still stands.

Enjoy the weekend everyone. Hope to catch up on all here sometime this weekend.

Hi KLMH don’t know if you saw my comment to you earlier on the other blog, but it was Joe’s brother Pete who tweeted that comment to Anderson Cooper. He’s just as charming as his brother 😉

I seen this online and thought it was very funny!
“If you think you’re having a bad day, just remember, somebody is going to have Snooki as a mom.”

      • Powell says:

You no I think Snooki is going to surprise us.

        • kendo says:

I actually like Snooki, just thought it was funny!
She’s just making easy money while she can! Hope she saves some for later.

          • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:

I like Snooki too, Kendo (and I LOVE J-Woww, Pauly & Vinny).

I actually think she’s a lot SMARTER than she portrays herself on “Jersey Shore.” I’ve seen and read SERIOUS interviews with her where you can tell that she really “gets” it and is even “in” on the jokes about herself.

She talked about how she is saving as much money as she can because she knows the fame won’t last.

She also talked about how she was almost a Vet Tech, and she will probably go back to school to finish up her degree in that field.

And she talked about how people always called her an Oompa-Loompa, ugly, disgusting, stupid, etc., and it did not bother her ONE bit because she knew none of that was true (at least according to her own self-image), and she was laughing her “Oompa Loompa” ass all the way to the bank and securing her financial future.

Even on the show, when she is not falling down drunk, Snooki has shown herself to be a very loyal friend and a giver of good advice and as someone who has common sense (when SOBER). She turns into a very entertaining, sometimes promiscuous and sometimes disgusting IDIOT when she gets drunk, though.

        • LaineyLainey says:

I agree, Powell. She seems to have a good heart.

      • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:

        LOL

Snooki would serve a double example of why birth control is a great thing.

    Diva

    • Sending up prayers for Mr. Ford Diva! Stay cool….oh wait…you ARE cool! LOL!
May cool breezes blow your way all day.

    • AZGirl says:

Hang in there Diva. Finally cooling down here in Az. High only in the 90’s. I watch Liam in an interview recently promoting his new film. He is so sexy. I did see sadness but he was really cool about joking about himself and his films.

      • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:

It was so sad the way his wife just died so suddenly in such a freak accident. She was beautiful and a very good actress. Those Redgraves in the U.K. are kinda like the Barrymores in the U.S.: acting “royalty”. His wife was the daughter of Vanessa Redgrave (I’m sure you know that already, though).

By all accounts, not only was she a great actress, but a huge promoter of charities, particularly those devoted to AIDS because this is from what her father died (He was bisexual). She was also said to be extremely warm and generous, a wonderful mother, a wonderful wife AND a GOURMET cook. She and Liam also allegedly had a very good marriage.

I read an interview after her death once where he talked about how she had this little lapdog that she adored but that he just kinda tolerated because he was more of a BIG DOG type of person as opposed to lap dogs. He said the dog, while Natasha was alive, basically only tolerated him too. The dog wanted to be around Natasha and no one else and had a particular dislike for Liam.

He said that, once Natasha died, it’s like he and the dog were BOTH in so much grief. He said that it caused him and the dog to become BFF’s and that they were ALWAYS together and HATED to be apart from each other. It’s like he was saying they finally bonded over their deep grief over Natasha’s death.

I cried when I read it. Poor Liam.

I think he finally got a girlfriend after grieving, though. I’m sure Natasha’s death is something he will never totally get over, though.

    • Powell says:

Diva the 100 degrees is my kinda, weather although I don’t like it muggy. You be careful out there those signs w/the heat & cars. I envy you and your, sundresses. I’m praying Mr Ford has great numbers on his test. You take care of one another.

      • Powell.. I LOVE 100 degree heat also..but the humidty was at 88% yesterday,,!! and the wind was from the SW and it was a HOT WIND.. today is pouring rain with the sun out… in between I stand out there and wave my sign and shake my legs…LOL
The boys next dr who also wave signs..we were doing the old..you put your right leg in..you pull your right leg out… at least we are having fun and people are looking and honking !!!! I worked with both boys before at the burger barn.. they know my level of craziness !!!! winks

Goooood morning lynnfam. Gorgeous morning here in Indy. Great blogs. Thanks to all the writers. Loved Keida’s on the Chef’s. Will make a point of watching that show, and after reading the blog on couple’s therapy I’ll try and watch that one as well. Have a great day everyone.

  7. Thank you for the great posts NMD, Keida, MTH, LuLu & Ramonacoaster! You are all rock stars. LuLu, I look forward to reading your next post from both perspectives. MTH, I don’t watch but I love your recaps, its like I am there! Keida, love the show and looking forward to Top Chef Seattle Nov. 4th. Ramonacoaster, you knock it out of the park as usual. You are one witty gal.

NMD, Lady C and BB…..thanks for your diligent hard work at keeping the blog going every day. You are wonderful and we are blessed to have you!

    Love & Hugs To All!

Good Morning everyone~ LOL Keida, I LOVE seafood so I’d love to try Jenn’s food sometime, if she ever opens a restaurant.

    • mkvalle says:

I enjoyed your blog Keida, but you need to know Red Lobster is not a place to go for good seafood. Since you don’t cook, you can’t make it home but it’s so easy and best of all very quick! I look forward to crab season every year….coming soon in a month or two!

      • Powell says:

MKV we are kindred spirits. I love lobster & crabs. I just throw them in a pot w/Old Bay & beer. Mmm mmm good. 🙂

      • keida says:

I know it’s not. That’s why i had that little aside in there. 🙂 I’m from OKlahoma, so we don’t have fresh seafood unless it’s catfish or stuff like that. I’m just more a meat and potatoes type of girl.

  9. Stars99 says:

Great blogs, you guys! Such a nice gentle bentle day of blogs – perhaps because no one had an actual HW show to recap… Even Caro & Tre’s cast blogs weren’t as horrible as they could have been. NoMoreDrama – Do you think they’re going to make any additional changes to HWONY OR HWONJ? The ratings went down after NY went through theirs… do you think they’re going to risk it with NJ?; Keida – I wondered what had happened to the bromance between Fabio and Blais, too – I kinda don’t like how arrogant they all seem to be at this point; Mel – Okay, so does this mean whenever I shake hands with a man I have to count how many fingers are involved in order to ensure it’s a “manly” handshake – and because if a guy doesn’t include all of his fingers in said handshake, that it just doesn’t count? Is this a new rule? I never knew about it and now I’m questioning all my handshakes; and RamonaCoaster – loved your comment about Lauren needing to know “napalm’s” definition, language of origin, and to use it in a sentence cuz you’ve done a few spelling bee’s… lol… how Tre was being hypocritical… and I noticed that “Tre” used words like “prehistoric beast” in her blog… lol… yeah, right… she writes her own blog. SureeeeEEEEeee she does.

    • RealHousewifeVA says:

I was thinking the same thing about changing NJ…with the ratings they had, would they risk changing it after they saw how that worked out with NY? It was interesting on Wendy Williams how Teresa kind of laughed when Wendy said the others wouldn’t film with Teresa, and she was sort of like “Ha, I don’t think they won’t film with me…Do you think Bravo is really going to let me go?” Pretty much implying that for the money/fame, those women damn sure will film with her. Jac also tweeted that she was asked back.
They are all loving the attention (negative as it may be).

    • I think they will switch up NY a little. I suspect LuAnn will be gone – and 2 more (new ones?) added. I have no idea about NJ – the ratings have spoken.

    • melthehound says:

Stars, on the chance you come back and look, I just saw this. I’ve ever actually heard of such a thing as a 4 fingered handshake unless someone is missing a finger. I was just repeating what the guy on the show said. He could have just as easily crossed his fingers behind his back if he wanted to un-promise the promise.

  10. Stars99 says:

Lulu – Do you think that Simon and Alex are on the Couple’s Therapy show because they’re genuinely having marital problems… or does it seem it’s for publicity sake? I didn’t watch the show… cuz i’m afraid I’ll get sucked in… lol…

    • kendo says:

I really liked Alex, I think she got a raw deal. I wish she was still on RHONY.

    • lori says:

I’m not Lulu but in my opinion I think there might be some issues. Time will tell if they are making something out of nothing.

    • BB says:

I’m not LuLu but I watched and they seemed genuine. I don’t think Alex is that good of an actress. But they could be fooling everyone. Who knows? I don’t think they will be the couple bringing most of the drama to the show though.

      • lovemamaearth says:

I like Alex too. All marriages can use some help in something at some point imo. They obviously need the money too. And I agree Kendo that Alex got a raw deal. The brunettes /bravo put a target on her on that horrid Lu trip and they doubled down on it at the reunion.

      • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:

I thought they seemed genuine too, BB. Alex & Simon always struck me as “needing” the RHONY paycheck and other financial opportunities it provided for them. Alex went through a layoff when she was on the show and basically worked freelance after that. Simon claims to have left his job with some hotel, but the rumor is that Jill actually actively worked to get him fired from his job (I don’t know how true that is though).

I get the feeling they may be having some financial problems. I COULD be wrong, but that’s what my instincts tell me. I think financial problems are the #1 reason for divorce (and if not #1, very close to the TOP of the list of reasons).

I also wonder a bit about Simon’s drinking. Does he have a problem? Could this also be contributing to their problems?

And I wonder if both Alex and Simon have read the numerous comments about Simon probably being the reason she was let go from RHONY. If so, is Alex resentful over it? And, if so, does Simon feel any guilt over it? Is this ALSO causing them to have problems?

I don’t know. They seemed sincere.

But maybe they just have me straight FOOLED, and they are simply famewhores who just want back on t.v. *Shrug*

        • Called A Princess... says:

The rumor is that Jill kept bring up the fact that the nude pictures of Alex were taken ” spread eagle, in the lobby of the hotel, that Simon worked at.” She said this at the season 3 reunion. Jill likes to air other peoples dirt but can not handle it when she gets it right back. So very glad she is no longer on Bravo. JMHO.

          • Sus says:

Silex are the ones that took those pictures. UGHHHH – I’m going to defend JillZ now. Jill brought it up at the reunion but the pictures were published by someone else. JillZ was not the reason Silex lost their jobs.

          • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:

I hope to GOD Jill is not asked back on RHONY. I have a fear that BRAVO may indeed ask her back, though.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

IMO – they need money and Simon needs to be on tv…..

      • Sus says:

This is what I think too. If they were sincere about getting therapy, it would not be on TV. I used to think they would do anything to be on TV, but now I think they have no choice. What was shown on RHONY was not flattering to them. Whether it was editing or not doesn’t matter. I doubt their towel line can support them. It will be difficult to get a non-entertainment job in this economy. Also, who would hire them in a non-entertainment job. No one is going to forget the creepy factor ie: Simon you-know-whating during birth. And I’m not going to let you all forget it either! I never would have known about that if it weren’t for the blog because I didn’t read their book.

    • Lulu says:

My personal opinion is I think they are sincere. Even the most perfect marriage can’t weather some storms sometimes. Seems to me they think their problem lies in doing RHONY and the media. But from what I see it just happens over time. Communication does breakdown and they need help getting back on track.

      • Orson says:

Re Alex and Simon, I stated in the post where I finally delurked, about a week before Lynn’s promotion, that if you’re going to be a Bravo HW, you and your husband better be self-employed, because it’s very likely your employer will find a reason to let you go. And this happened to Silex. And it’s difficult to be a “Socialite” when you’re scraping to pay your bills.

        • Orson,

Alex & I actually discussed something very similar to your quote “that if you’re going to be a Bravo HW, you and your husband better be self-employed” while filming Couples Therapy and imagine it will be used in an upcoming episode. I wasn’t ‘let go’ from my job but, and with hindsight, I will agree that being on a reality show is not a good idea when you work for other people. In the first season of RHoNY both Alex & I worked for companies – she – Limited Brands/Victoria’s Secret & me as general manager of an hotel, but by the end of our RHoNY time we didn’t and were both self-employed.

One furphy I’d like to put to rest is that I was not responsible for Alex not being asked back for the 5th season of RHoNY. Remember I only participated in RHoNY filming as much or as little as the producers allowed and wanted. I remember at the time of my appearance on the 1st season Reunion many people stated that I must have forced my way on to the reunion set. I didn’t. Highly produced TV just doesn’t work that way. As many of you watch other franchises it’s pretty obvious by now that Bravo wants & encourages many husbands/significant others to be on the show. I never went to an event uninvited either by the cast and/or the producers; not even “Girls’ Night’ in Season 1.
          Best

          Simon

          • Sus says:

Do you think it was JillZ’s fault you all weren’t asked back?

            • No., well at least not directly. Season Four got the reputation in certain quarters that it was ‘very dark’ but it became that way in the editing suite. I know that’s seen as an excuse however if largely only a certain type of footage is used in the episodes (and the used footage is barely 5% of what was filmed ) it’s relatively easy for any reality show to highlight only certain scenes, to make that season appear dark, or light or humorous etc.

              • cocfarm says:

Do you think they created the ‘darkness’ as a way to move to a partial new cast? And if so, any word on whether or not the are regretting the change? It would be great to have Alex come back to ny. Also, do you think Andy was biased against Alex? Thanks!

                • lovemamaearth says:

                  Great questions COC.

Being self employed isn’t really insulation from losing income–you’d still need customers or clients. If JCPenney bought Alex’s towels and took offense at RHW they’d quit buying the towels.

Thanks for posting here Simon. Please tell Alex some of us love her video blog and wish she’d do more. ░☆☼¸¸„.•°✽ღŦHΣ✫ßΣֆƮ

    • Eastbayca says:

The problems could be genuine….every now and then Alex used to throw Simon a looks during their time on RHONY.

      • Eastbayca says:

Also she mentioned in an article…that adjusting to life after RHONY had some challenges and am not talking about money.

        • lovemamaearth says:

I agree. And that one time on WWHL Alex’s body language seemed to show signs of stress. I know that’s not a given but it was so different than how they’d been together before that.

  11. I Need A Life! says:

Good morning. In response to someone who asked if the ladies were celebrities in NJ, I was in New Rochelle, NY, last month. Not too far from New Jersey. I’m from Chicago, so each time I spoke with someone, they ALL sounded like the Jersey Housewives to me. (It was really hard to keep a straight face when all you’re thinking is, “oh my god..she sounds just like Tre.)

I asked each person if they knew any of the ladies. One woman told me that her daughter dances with Milania. I asked what Tre was like. She flipped her hand and said, “what you see on t.v. is what you get. She looks the same way. Her husband looks like what you see on t.v. The daughter is not that great. Can you believe how someone like that gets all this publicity. Who cares?” She told me that the women are not famous in their area because no one cares.

I think I get it. Folks from that part of the country seem to have a really hard shell. I mentioned to one person that my parents were from Italy and the guy turns to me and says, “Yeah. So what?”

    • lori says:

LOL the “yeah, so what” sounds very jersey to me 🙂 I’m orginally from MI so sometimes I can be put off by what I call the Jersey “edge” but, with time I found most people have a heart of gold here and Jersey gets a bad rap.

Charles Manson is well known. He’s not a celebrity. I think a real celeb is liked and or talented.

          • melthehound says:

I think with some, in his time, even by your definition, he was a celeb. Who is, and who isn’t kind of depends on who you ask.

            • lovemamaearth says:

Charles Manson isn’t well liked or talented so by my definiton, he’d never be a celeb imo. But I don’t really care either.

              • Sus says:

Almost everyone has heard of CM and/or knows who he is

              • melthehound says:

I Did say, In His Time.

                • lovemamaearth says:

I don’t know what you mean MTH. I don’t see Charles Manson as being talented or liked in his time or any other. He’s known for being manipulative and a criminal. If actors aren’t talented or well liked they aren’t celebs either. They’re just people with some degree of name recognition.

          • ladyballs says:

            charles manson is infamous.
in·fa·my ( n f -m ). n. pl. in·fa·mies. 1. Evil fame or reputation. 2. The condition of being infamous. 3. An evil or criminal act that is publicly known.

    • ladyballs says:

      i asked the celebrity question.

clearly, the women are local celebrities. i didn’t asked if the housewives were liked or if anyone cared about them.

my bet is kim d’s store has had an increase in sales due to her exposure on national tv. i would also bet that kim d gets a lot of looky-loos in her store trying to spot a housewife. those are the points i was making by asking that question.

      • lori says:

Perhaps for some people but, I’ve never met anyone who went out of their way to meet or see these ladies. Not even book signings ..although clearly people do, at least for Tre. A lot of people don’t even watch the show.

        • ladyballs says:

there’s a famous story about a woman who couldn’t believe nixon was elected because she said she didn’t know anyone who voted for him.

        • ladyballs says:

and btw, wasn’t there a housewives tour where people could go meet them?

          • Exit4 says:

Yep. Attended by women from OUTSIDE the area! A local wouldn’t pay 90 bucks to drive around! That’s what the tour did, drive by houses. They didn’t meet anyone.

      • Exit4 says:

Kim D ‘s store is geared to a very specific clientele so no matter how many looky loos show up there, chances are they can’t afford to buy what she is selling! Her store doesn’t need HWs to succeed or fail. And it doesn’t need HW fans to succeed or fail, since they are not a core customer. You don’t seem to be getting the answer you want, so you keep bringing it up! Yes, they are local woman on TV, but they carry no cache in a community of actual rich people! The only people who actually care enough to treat them like celebs are desperate fame whores. Locally, they are a joke.

    • Jill...no not THAT Jill says:

Hey I Need A Life…this is a bit of a coinky-dink…Im from New Rochelle-(I dont think I sound like Teresa though…more like Carrie from King of Queens).
Anyway-the Housewives to venture into my neck of the woods sometime (we are not THAT close to Franklin Lakes NJ) to appear in a club or do a book signing. I have been to one of Teresa’s book signings in the Bronx (not part of Westchester-the county where New Rochelle is) and believe me the women that were there considered Teresa a celebrity. I don’t but it was still fun to go.
My sister has seen Melissa, Joe, Albie and Chris on more than one occasion in a jammed packed night club right here in New Rochelle.
I dont know about the women you talked to but let me let you in on a little secret-in Westchester county the housewives are loved-even if every women here denies it!!

    • RealHousewifeVA says:

I think they are definitely local celebrities, but people don’t want to admit it. When they have local appearances, people show up in droves. The Manzo’s did a BLK appearance near NJ and over 1000 people showed up and waited in line for hours to see them.
Just like so many people show up for the Posche fashion show. Really, do tiny little local boutique fashion shows attract that big of a crowd otherwise?
People might not like them, or might not respect them, but I do believe they are celebrities to a certain degree. A celebrity is a person in the public eye who garners “a great deal of public fascination”…
When people like Anderson Cooper can’t stop talking about you, there is a certain level of fame attached to you. Even Jimmy Kimmel pointed out to Anderson Cooper how funny it is that Teresa’s appearance was one of the most controversial ones that Anderson Cooper’s had on his show. The rag mags sells more magazines with housewives on the cover than with actual actors/actresses. The housewives have more twitter followers than a lot of famous athletes, singers, actors/actresses, etc.

Lots of famewhores agree: Bad publicity is better than no publicity, and Teresa’s cookbooks/fabellini/haircare sales are a good indication of that (IMO)

    • Exit4 says:

New Rochelle is nowhere near Franklin lakes! Also Milania doesn’t dance…

    • ladyballs says:

  12. Kansas Girl says:

Could you add a “None of the above” to the returning housewives poll? I’m sick of them all.

Shayne Lamas was a contestant on The Bachelor. I’ve seen enough of her and don’t want to see her on Housewives.

    • lovemamaearth says:

Really? I saw her on something and didn’t think she was very pretty and at the time was kind of plump. Not that that’s bad but most on Bachelor have to be thin and very coiffed.

    • Stars99 says:

All we are is dust in the wind – I couldn’t vote in the poll for that very reason… lololol… I mean I do like Alex – but if it’s really costing her a happy marriage…. she should move onward and upward… And I do like Jeanna – even though she has no storyline and she’s way too even keeled to be a HW at all… but I’m really, REALLY hoping they get rid of OC.

      • Orson says:

Come to think of it, I think this season, Vicki is going to be needing a friend, and Jeanna could be that friend. Of course, Vicki would have to get down off her high horse and make up with Jeanna. But that could be problematical as V would have to admit that she was wrong, and I can’t see that happening.

        • lori says:

That was my thinking when I chose Jeanna too. Although the thought of having her obnoxious oldest son back on tv isn’t pleasant 😦

        • lovemamaearth says:

If Vicki is on, I won’t watch. Same if Tam, Gretch or Heather are on. OC needs all new people or cancel it imo. Their stories have all been played out beyond interest.

      • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:

I can see why so many people like Jeanna.

I am in the minority when it comes to her, though. It is not that I actively dislike her. She just works my LAST frickin’ NERVE with the way she ALWAYS takes up for the MAN in any situation when it comes to her own life and when it comes to the lives of her (former) cast mates. It is like her self-esteem is SO low that she believes a MAN is always RIGHT, even when he behaves like a total JACKASS.

She kinda reminds me of Caroline Manzo in that way. The difference between them, though, is that Jeanna is a DOORMAT. Caroline is NOT. They both seem to favor a MAN in any situation, however. JMHO.

And the way her sons, particularly that OLDER son, talk to her is absolutely disgusting and totally disrespectful. She just TAKES it and puts up with it like, not only did they NOT just totally disrespect her, but it’s as if they just said, “I LOVE you, Mom!!” That sh*t is just WEIRD to me. It must go back to her childhood in some way.

If it comes from her childhood, I have compassion for her and “get” why she allows/allowed her sons and ex-husband (Are they even really divorced yet? That divorce seemed to drag on FOREVER. I wonder if she is still also allowing him to live in the same house as her. Probably) to her this way (because it is “familiar” and “normal” and “comfortable” to her because this type of dysfunction is what she grew up with).

I do NOT have compassion for her refusing to take up for her friends or inserting herself by making comments that indicate that she thinks her friend’s significant other is doing NOTHING wrong, and it is all the fault of her FEMALE friend. That just “bugs” me.

If you wanna be a DOORMAT, Jeanna, FINE! Knock yourself out. If your girlfriends do NOT want to be a DOORMAT, keep your comments to yourself. JMHO.

  13. Powell says:

MTH ha! Angie bit the dust. Am I surprised? No way. Now there is only 3. I think Jeff us gonna shake the tribes up now. It’s really early to do it but he nay not have a choice.

    • I thought Russel would be going. From the previews it looks like one more challenge with these tribes at a minimum. It reminds me of the season where the entire team went home without the other team losing a member. Stephanie was the last person standing – and got asked back for another season.

      • Stars99 says:

I TOTALLY thought there was going to be a merge this week… and not next week, either? Yikes! I remember Stephanie’s season… she was a brute… and remember she stayed at the island all by herself… well, she and all the film crew… lol… it was just weird. I thought she really deserved to win… most of the winners couldn’t even compare with her abilities.

    • melthehound says:

It’s getting pretty sad. Pretty soon, at this rate, most of the other teams will be sitting out the challenges. Maybe 3 tribes wasn’t such a hot idea. I’m sure if they lose again, Russell is gone and then production will Have to do something. A mix up to two tribes (likely splitting the Malcom / Denise alliance) would be interesting to see. All of the preplanning on the other two tribes of who to get rid of First, would also be flushed down the toilet. That is, unless everyone plays it smart. Remember last season, the women never really gave up their first alliance during the mix up. Anyway, I don’t think it’ll be the full on merge.

      • Powell says:

I didn’t think about a shift putting the kibosh on the plotting and planning but you are so right. It has to happen soon though.

  14. BB says:

Rats, MTH. I forgot to watch Survivor last night, but thanks to you I know what happened.

  15. Powell says:

Ok lulu give. Did you keep a straight face when you watchrd Simon & Alex describe the “demise” of their marriage & that Alex threatened divorce? Come on. They just couldn’t go to a therapist in Brooklyn?

    • Lulu says:

Granted going on a reality tv show is a bit extreme. But to each their own. Sure their are plenty of therapist from Brooklyn to LA. I think they are trying to clear the air with the many viewers about their relationship. In season 1 Simon was perceived as being controlling. They are there for themselves and to clear the tabloid rumors. I wouldn’t be surprised if the next season we see Tre and Juicy.

      • Just Wondering In Jersey says:

I think they are there mostly for the money. Times are hard and TV pays better than real normal jobs. I suspect Alex stuffed a lot of her feelings about Simon’s drinking and other antics and this show may have helped her reveal those feelings. We shall see.

        • Powell says:

JWIJ I agree w/you that Alex probably stuffed her feelings as we saw her last season as she had finally had enough w/JZ & Kelly & started taking up for herself so I can imagine that w/Simon, but I just can’t get over how Simon said negative things regarding B showing her therapy sessions on tv. I just really think it’s about money & Simon wanting to be on tv.

      • Powell says:

Tre & Juicy? OMG would that be a sight to see. I would def feel they would be there for the money cause Joe thinks he’s the king in his house & will do what he wants & Tre can like it or not.

      • I’m going to have to disagree. I have a strong feeling Juicy will be in jail and unavailable for any further reality TV show bookings. #gutfeeling.

      • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:

I can’t see Teresa and Juicy getting therapy.

I don’t think Teresa thinks she needs any therapy, although she CLEARLY does.

In fact, I think EVERY single person on that cast needs to spend HOURS AND HOURS and WEEKS AND WEEKS on somebody’s couch because every single one of them is f*cked up and dysfunctional in some type of way.

Kathy would probably get finished with her therapy first because she’s not THAT bad. She’d just need to learn to STOP communicating in such a passive-aggressive fashion and admit to herself that she hates Teresa and is insanely jealous of her for certain reasons and has been for years. And then she either needs to leave Teresa completely alone or go to Teresa’s house and tell her EVERY BAD THING and EVERY INSULT she has wanted to tell Teresa AGGRESSIVELY and DIRECTLY through the years so she could FINALLY get it off her chest and stop all of her eye-rolling and sighing (Sometimes, Kathy’s eyes roll so much, I fear they are going to pop out of her head).

I’m not even going to get into the REST of the castmates and all the reasons they need intensive therapy. All I WILL say is that, in addition to therapy, I think Jac may need REHAB (if not for alcohol, then for her Twitter addiction at least).

As for Juicy, I think he would basically tell Teresa or anyone else to kiss his butt about therapy. I could just hear him, “TERAPY??!!! I don’t need no g*ddamn TERAPY!! Why should I pay some man or women some money to tell me a buncha b*llsh*t when I could just talk to one of my girlfriends or when I could just have a drink to calm my nerves. TERAPY is for SUCKAS!”

The ONLY way Teresa and Joe would probably do it is if it paid them BIG bucks, and they were no longer on a reality show. But, I could be WRONG, and they might just indeed show up on my t.v. screen in the future as one of the cast members of “Couples Therapy” having “TERAPY.” *Shrug*

ladyballs & kit I’m turning to it right now. I just can’t get over the Salahi’s. Remember when they were trying to leave Staci’s house when Jason/Staci were confronting them? That was priceless. Tareque went out their back door. I was like, ” they came in the front, how’d they know where the back door was?”. 🙂

      • melthehound says:

Why, Powell, would you want to put yourself through that twice?

        • Powell says:

MTH it’s that accident that you have to look at while backing up the traffic on the Beltway/Expressway. They just showed when the police came out to the winery & Michele says “the family fight over the winery is taking a toll on her health”. Well she’s partying day and night w/Neal Schon & I haven’t heard anything about her “illness” affecting her knew jetset lifestyle.

          • melthehound says:

You know what… Every time, I’m stuck in one of those back ups, I Never get to see exactly what it was that caused them. By the time I get to there, whatever it was has been cleared. The Slushi’s always seemed like scum drama queens to me, both of them. I hope she’s enjoying the life.

            • Powell says:

MTH in the DC/MD/VA area we have the worse traffic. I think The Washington Post put us at #2 or something like that a couple of yrs ago. BB can probably remember that article too. But when I’m in traffic and there is an accident it’s mostly on the shoulder & idiot drivers are the ones that really back up the traffic cause they wanna be looky looes. I just always hope no one is hurt & just get to my destination.

              • melthehound says:

What’s worse is when it’s on the opposite side and there’s no way you could see anything anyway. Around here, they are rubbernecks.

              • chismosa says:

I never knew DC/Baltimore had such bad traffic. I’ve visited a few times and had to rent a car.

I know Los Angeles must crack that top list somewhere. Don’t those freeways get terrible backups? I always hear that

                • BB says:

DC is awful for traffic. I’ve been there for work on several occasions and always left early to try to get outta there before it got too bad. Lol

                  • Powell says:

I use to live in DC & knew the streets pretty well but not now. Too many one way streets. If you get lost were there are 1 way streets it’s hard to get back to where you want to be. I use to have to drive to Rockville MD once a MTH for meetings & all I know is if I had to drive that every day I’d be on Prozac. And I love to shop out there.

                    • trudie says:

My daughter moved to DC last year for grad school. My sister and I drove there last x-mas to pick her (and her dog) up for break. We didn’t know our way around, and neither did my daughter. We had tickets to see Billy Elliot at the Kennedy Center. I asked at the hotel how long it would take to get there, and was told 15 minutes. WITH the help of GPS, we kept missing the Kennedy Center – we could see it, but kept missing turn-offs to get to it. We finally made it into the parking lot, and my sister said: “Stay to the left,” so i did. Big mistake – that lane took us back on the highway. We missed the whole first half of the play.

                    • melthehound says:

That’s a shame Trudie but it’s similar to my one and only experience in DC. I could See the places I wanted to get to, but couldn’t get to them. I was there for a few days though so it was easier to park the car and ride the trains. At least those would put you in the vicinity.

              • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:

                Houston has horrible traffic too.

New Orleans’ traffic was only bad at certain times or when certain events were taking place in the city.

The streets in N.O. were kinda weird to me too. It’s like the streets were designed by “The Helen Keller Brigade” (blind AND deaf people!).

        • Powell says:

Now they’re showing her w/The Washington Redskin Cheerleaders. She was supposedly a Redskinette in the 80s. Puleeze! How could she say that about my team. She’s a trip.

the salahis were my favorite part of the show. they are soooooo creepy. hahhhhahaha

It’s funny looking at how Cat used to wear her hair. She looks totally different now.

      • chismosa says:

Powell I was taken aback by her appearance on WWH. She looked better that time she was on WWH when she reamed Luann. One of the top 5 events on Bravo IMO.

Now it seems she looks older with the hair so short (i think it was the cut itself, not it being short) and her eyebrows looked odd, like overly dyed or something. I also hated that dress she wore. But I’m so happy for her with her baby news. I really wish Dandy Cohen would give her some sort of show

        • Powell says:

I think she would do great w/a show.

        • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:

I agree that she looked older with her hairstyle as well.

I HATE to say this (but I’m going to say it anyway), but when I heard Cat was pregnant, I was TRULY shocked because I didn’t think she could still even HAVE children due to her age (In short, I thought she was a LOT older than her chronological age). And I kinda like Cat so it’s nothing personal against her….but JMHO.

Oh yeah, I hated that dress she wore too!

        • EllaMinnowPea says:

Ugh. Cat looked soooo uncomfortable. She wasn’t even sitting straight in her chair. But I do love the way she’ll tell people straight up what she thinks. And because she’s not all loud and disjointed like Ramona, people seem to take it better from her. Or maybe it’s the English accent that makes her seem more refined. 🙂

  18. Pghemtchick says:

So, did you know Faye Resnick was a fan favorite friend of the housewives/part time housewife? ….. Yeah, me either. Wetpaint thinks so (http://www.wetpaint.com/real-housewives-of-beverly-hills/articles/part-time-real-housewife-faye-resnick-talks-being-a-hippie-calls-brandi-glanville-mean-and-cruel) and she saying basically Brandi’s a home wrecker. I can’t believe it. Here’s part of it:

The gracious Adrienne Maloof recently hosted a two-day Emmy Awards Beauty Retreat, along with Softcup and ZING® Vodka. A few familiar Real Housewives of Beverly Hills faces were in attendance at the swanky event, including fan-favorite Faye Resnick.

In the promo video for Season 3 of RHoBH, Faye is seen speaking her mind, as usual, and Wetpaint Entertainment asked what we can expect when the interior designer pops up on the show. Faye opened up about Adrienne’s separation from Paul Nassif and the role she feels Brandi Glanville played in the split.

Wetpaint Entertainment: In what capacity are you on the new season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills?

Faye Resnick: As a friend. There’s two of us. There’s Marisa [Zanuck] and myself. So we’re part‑time housewives, is what they call us.

Do you ever consider doing it full time?

My business doesn’t really allow for that. My business is really intimate. I mean, I’m a designer, and I design people’s homes. It’s not like you see on design shows. That is not the way it really is. I know every secret. I know everything about their lifestyle. It’s a different situation entirely. So, it’s really difficult because most of my clients are A-listers. So most of them don’t really want their life on the screen as far as the design work. I walk a very fine line in that.

    Fans love you, though.

Because I’m honest, because I say what I think. I’m not afraid. I don’t care about being politically correct. Unfortunately, I’m a woman’s woman, and I’m used to getting along with women. This is the first time I’ve really ever been introduced to a couple of pretty crazy people.

You say that, and you’ve pretty publicly stated that you think Brandi’s sort of played a part with Adrienne with Paul.

    Of course she did.

    Do you care to elaborate?

No. That will unveil itself. I mean, I did not like what happened in any way, shape, or form. I felt she was mean and cruel and intentionally trying to be [sort] of divisive. I don’t understand that. I think we’re all here to make each other’s lives better. That’s the premise. So if you operate on that premise, then it’s really hard for you to see somebody who is just cunning and mean.

Do you think that’s something that’s coming across on television?

    That depends on the editing.

But it happened with you on camera.

But that doesn’t mean anything. What is shown and what’s real. What’s happens off camera and what happens in editing are two different things.

They also have an article I can’t seem to link to saying Taylor has to move out of her rented home she’s been in since ’08.

    • RealHousewifeVA says:

That’s really ballsy of her to insult Brandi for not being nice when it was her BFF Kyle who was a total bitch to Brandi for no reason last season.

And LOL @ blaming Brandi for the Maloof/Nassif breakup, as if we didn’t see how awful Adrienne was before Brandi ever came on the show.

      • lovemamaearth says:

Poor Faye is a wannabe and not very pretty. Brandi is fun and if I do watch BH she’s the only reason.

        • melthehound says:

          Same here LME 😀

        • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:

I love Brandi. I notice that Brandi is another person who inspires visceral reactions in people. It’s like people either LOVE her or HATE her, and there’s no in between. I guess it’s just that ol’ “X-Factor” that can’t be explained.

I like the way she just truly seems to be HERSELF and does not really give and EFF who DOES or does NOT like it.

      • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:

I know. Faye blaming Brandi is ridiculous. From what I can gather from twitter and all of the stories that have been coming out about what occurred during the season, Adrienne has an axe to grind with Brandi in particular and has been putting very damaging stories about her (I think Adrienne has been putting out nasty stories about her other cast mates as well, but the ones about Brandi are particularly nasty).

Brandi basically called Adrienne out on doing it by directly saying that it was Adrienne who was doing it, and she needed to STOP it. Brandi then mentioned how Adrienne’s lawyer sent a letter to her basically threatening to sue her for saying that.

IMO, Adrienne strikes me as a SPOILED BRAT who simply CANNOT believe it when people do not do as she says or wants. She fights “dirty” when they don’t (Just like she’s doing with Paul now). I think she gets her staff (*Cough* Bernie the Insult Chef being one *Cough*) members to put out the nasty stories so she can keep her hands clean and “technically” be telling the truth when she denies giving any stories to Radar Online (which seems to be her outlet of choice).

        • lovemamaearth says:

((( Detox ))) Agree with all that.

Oh and the blond woman that James Woods drooled over was the one from Desperate Housewives that played the slutty neighbor i think she was in real estate.

    • melthehound says:

      After they note …

“Faye opened up about Adrienne’s separation from Paul Nassif and the role she feels Brandi Glanville played in the split. ”

I don’t know how many A listers actually read this crap but does she really think saying what she said about Brandi / Adrienne was a good idea? Further, I don’t know what fans ‘love her’ but she bores the piss out of me. Me thinks she is the extra in the background part 2,

      • Pghemtchick says:

Fortunately I can’t even remember what she looks like. I don’t know if it’s because all those over plastic’d, over botox’d, inflatotit women look alike or if it’s just because she is that forgettable.

She was at the famous Allison Dubois dinner.

              • Sus says:

Yeah, that dinner has to be one of the greatest RH’s dinners. Don’t forget the infamous Faye Resnick of OJ Fame. I loved the cigarette and loved how rude Alison was. It was classic.

                • Sus says:

Yup, Faye told her story to the tabloids instead of waiting for the trial so the DA couldn’t put her on the stand because the jury would doubt her credibility. She witnessed OJ beating on Nicole. Then she published a book that said Nicole and her had an affair. She’s really gross.

            • melthehound says:

      • Powell says:

I know MTH. Just cause she’s not decorating for Adrienne or Paul doesn’t mean she shouldn’t keep her trap shut. I wonder if clients will give her another look after making those comments.

        • melthehound says:

I say that even to hint they would disclose something about anything, is a risky move. That goes for any of them that have a ‘client list’ when they choose to do a reality show. Especially one done on Bravo. I doubt it would be about home decor that they don’t want put into the press either.

          • Powell says:

So true. I bet A-listers will read/hear about it cause they are paranoid about their biz in the media, which I totally understand.

    • Powell says:

Thks for that Pchick. I didn’t know Faye was fan fav either. Why did she bring up Brandi if she’s not going to say everything she supposedly knows? She said she doesn’t care about being politically correct but it seems like she does to me. You know the goods then give it up.

      • Pghemtchick says:

Exactly. Just spill, but she can’t if she’s truly under a contract. Best to keep mum all together then and leave that can of worms unopened. Brandi tweeted 26 minutes ago:
@BrandiGlanville: When Im an asshole I just say sorry I was an asshole… Some other people like to blame character flaws on “EDITING”

This is one reason I love her. It’s the same reason I fell for Bethenny too. Can’t edit it, if you never said it.

    • EllaMinnowPea says:

Has she ever actually watched these shows? In what way are these women all “nice” and “suportive” outside of their little cliques? And I guess she missed the episode where her friend Adrienne tried to take Lisa down a couple of notches. *Scatching my head*

High-priced hookergate update from Fox News Entertainment:

Joanna Krupa hooker story disappears from website
    Oct 04, 2012 12:50 PM EDT

She may be high-priced, but model and “Real Housewives” star Joanna Krupa is standing her ground that she never was a call girl.

Earlier this week, gossip site TheDirty.com claimed that the “Real Housewives of Miami” star once earned her keep as a high-priced prostitute, earning $10,000 per night.

Krupa vehemently denied the accusations, and immediately threatened to sue, with her attorney Marty Singer firing off a scathing letter with regards to the “Joanne Krupa is a Confirmed Hooker” article.

On Thursday a source told FOX411’s Pop Tarts column that TheDirty.com has since taken down the inflammatory hooker story. A search of the site revealed a tease to the article, but the URL itself as empty.

Singer and TheDirty.com did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

    • Powell says:

Pchick I truly don’t believe she was a high priced hooker but $10 Grand per night? Dang! If your gonna be a hooker it’s best to be a high priced one.

    • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:

Marty Singer is a FEARED “attack dog” attorney. I’m not surprised it was pulled at all after a letter from him.

      • ladyballs says:

hey detox, my husband is an attorney. he’s a litigator. i just got off the phone with him and he may not be home till late tonite. are you practising? what kind of attorney are you?

        • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:

O.K. Get ready, Ladyballs because this is going to be a LONG answer (Which is SOOO unusual for me [Insert sarcasm here] 😉 ).

I’m doing contract work right now. My present contract job is the research and writing of opinions for one of our State’s appellate courts for a Judge’s law clerk that is presently on maternity leave.

After that, who knows what kind of contract job I will pick up?

My plans are to move to Houston because the cost of living is as low as LA (in some ways, even cheapter), but the opportunities for jobs and the salaries are MUCH higher. I also have family and friends there.

AND, because I do NOT want to take another Bar Exam, Texas is going to have to be my choice because it is the only State in the U.S. that has “reciprocity” with LA when it comes to the practice of law. This is because LA is still under “the Napoleonic Code” (I guess because we basically were started and settled by the French and Spanish before the U.S. ever purchased us — hence, the laws that are, in some ways European. It’s hard to explain. Anyhoo, our law is like other states’ common law with a bit of a “twist.”).

Because LA & TX are so close to each other and have similar business interests, particularly when it comes to the OIL & GAS (Black Gold. Texas Tea.) industry, TX allows LA-licensed attorneys to enter and practice in their state WITHOUT having to take the TX Bar Exam if the following conditions are met: 1) the LA lawyer has been barred and practicing in the State of LA for 7 years (I’ve been practicing since ’97); 2) the LA Lawyer agrees to TX performing a background check of that lawyer’s standing with the LA Bar (any suspensions? any temporary disbarments?); 3) the LA Lawyer agrees to allow TX to perform a GENERAL background check (any criminal history? It used to be that one could take the LA Bar despite a criminal history, but I think the rules have been changed/made more strict when it comes to that); AND 4) the LA Lawyer agrees to pay TX a few thousand bucks.

Once all those “hoops” are jumped through….VOILA, you can now practice in TX, even though you have only taken the LA Bar Exam.

I want to do this because the only legal work I have ever done has been CORPORATE DEFENSE (mainly in the Insurance Defense arena). I’ve never done any Plaintiff’s work. I’ve also never done any Criminal work. Corporate defense involves an attorney working by “the billable hour” (You have to account for EVERY SINGLE THING you do by 6-minute increments and keep a log that must be turned in monthly). There are also several things one must do as an attorney that one CANNOT bill for.

So, it can be SUPER-STRESSFUL. In short, the billable hour SUCKS!!

TX provides me with MUCH MORE opportunity to use my law degree and practice in ways that do NOT require me to work by “the billable hour.” I’m D-O-N-E with the billable hour because it has TOTALLY BURNT me out (13 years doing that is LONG enough for me!!).

When I first started, I worked with a team of attorneys to build a huge case so that Federal RICO charges could be filed against a corrupt group of attorneys, doctors, chiropractors, police officers and members of the general public who had a “scheme” going where they would stage/fake accidents, fake medical treatment and billing, etc., etc. STATE FARM (our Client) had finally had enough and decided to go after the whole group federally under the RICO statutes.

Plenty of lawyers were eventually disbarred over it. Doctors and Chiropractors got in trouble too. Many of the lawyers involved in the scheme were Plaintiff’s attorneys whose offices were located on or near Canal Street in N.O. They were called “The Canal Street Cartel.”

After that I clerked for one of LA’s Appellate Courts in N.O. for 3 years.

Then I moved to my last firm where I did a little bit of everything but the BULK of my work consisted of Medical Malpractice Defense for STATE medical entities which I ABSOLUTELY LOVED!! Don’t ask me why. I just DID.

I’ve handled a couple of SMALL trials on my own, and I’ve sat “2nd Chair” on several big ones. I CAN do the courtroom/trial work, but I do not really LIKE to do it. It’s super-stressful. You’ve really gotta have “the fire in the belly” to do it.

If your husband is a litigator, he probably has it.

I prefer appearing in Court for Pretrial Hearings and such. Those are less stressful and sometimes actually kinda fun. I also like handling depositions and doing legal research and writing. And Mediations and Arbitrations are cool too (Most things are settled before trial nowadays anyway).

….Anyhoo, at my last firm, the Partner whose section I was under developed cancer and died within the year. That firm had a lot of State business. Due to LA’s poor economy, the firm lost/was losing lots of money (b/c the State decided to save money and start handling their cases IN-HOUSE as opposed to dishing them out to particular law firms they’d dealt with in the past). This hemorrhaging of money had been occurring at the firm for about 1 1/2 years BEFORE his death.

Due to his death (which also caused a loss of some business and some money that was going to have to go out to his wife b/c she wanted her portion of his ownership), the firm had layoffs. I was one of the lucky 4 who got laid off. I couldn’t take it personally, though, as I understood that it was financial and that the Partner who headed my “section” was no longer alive.

So, I’ve been doing contract work ever since until I can get my butt into TX OR take a Federal Job (I would not have to take another Bar Exam if I worked for the FEDERAL Government. I also wouldn’t have to deal with the billable hour.).

My parents are getting older. My Mom is disabled. My father wants to retire next year. They are STRONGLY urging me to move to their town for good and open up my own firm here. My Father says he will supply the funding for an Office, Staff, etc. until I get the business up and running and off the ground.

But I REALLY just DON’T WANT TO DO IT.

They are still, slowly but surely working on me to try to change my mind, though.

          They haven’t yet.

WHEW!!! Does that kinda answer your question? I hated to put you through all of that, but I wanted to provide you with FULL answer.

You have my sympathy for having to read through all of it. 😉

          • Powell says:

Well Miss Detox you nay not have “fire in your belly” to enjoy trial work but you sure have a gift for telling/explaining/writing that’s wh you love research & writing. You say the billable hours. suck. I remember John Grisham’s “The Firm” book/movie & Tom Cruise had to make sure he was recording those billable hours then come to find out he rats “The Firm” out for overbilling their mob clients & other clients. I think it’s great you wouldn’t have to take the bar in TX. Thk Napoleon for that. 🙂 It seems like you’ve got a hard decision since your parents want you to move near them. I don’t know how you’re gonna make it.

            • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:

Thanks for the compliments, Powell. It’s funny because at my last firm, my secretary worked for me and another attorney. She said she loved my E-mail instructions to her because the told her EVERYTHING I wanted done and HOW I wanted it done step-by-step. She said that all she needed was the one E-mail, and she was good to go.

The other attorney for whom she worked, on the other hand, was so general and vague that she’d keep having to run back and forth to her office to get clarification and to make sure she was giving her exactly what she wanted. Their communication was NOT good.

My Senior Partner was a typical “dude” who didn’t like detail or reading too much.

              I didn’t care.

When he asked me for a question or the Status Update on a case, I’d give him a very DETAILED answer and then be DONE.

At first, he’d call me or E-mail with questions that had ALREADY been ANSWERED in that ONE E-mail. I’d just say, “It’s in the E-Mail. Did you read it?”

              He’d lie and say, “YEP.”

Once we got very familiar with each other, I’d say, “You’re LYING because if you would have READ it, you’d already have your answer. Don’t call me back until you have CAREFULLY read my ENTIRE E-mail.”

He’d just laugh and pull my E-Mail up again.

Then I wouldn’t hear from him again because he realized that I told him EVERYTHING he needed to know in that ONE E-mail. LOL.

He had A.D.D. (but so do I…so I can’t explain THAT one). He also hated to sit still or to be in the office. So, he was constantly moving around and constantly finding things to do outside of the office. I kinda felt like his “Office Wife.”

As for the decision with regard to my parents, I’m putting everything in God’s hands (even though, as I OFTEN say, I sometimes fear that my prayers get NO HIGHER than my HEAD. *Shrug*).

              • ladyballs says:

you’re the kind of boss anyone would want. taking the time to describe what you want and how you want it is a gift to anyone who’d work for you.

                • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:

Why thank you, Ladyballs? The only complaint that particular secretary had about me was that I sometimes made her laugh so hard during the day that she’d pee her pants. She was a little older. Once we got to know each other really well, she’d say, “I HATE you for making me have to wear Depends to work!!”

                  • Sus says:

I may not work in your office but sometimes I hate you for the same reason

                    • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:

LOL. I love you because you hate me. It goes back to my childhood. I love the fact that you are emotionally unavailable to me. XOXO 😉

          • ladyballs says:

i appreciate that full explanation! i was curious.

my husband is lucky he’s at a firm that does not keep billable hours. there’s no originating client credit either. if you bring in a big client, you’re not given credit for that client. all clients are clients of the firm only– not an individual lawyer. it works well for this particular firm.

when he got outta law school he took a job with another firm, although he had an offer from the firm he’s a currently. the orginal firm was merged with a larger firm and he was outta there. the two things he didn’t want to do was work in a satellite office and be a lawyer in a 1000-lawyer firm. both of which happened when the merger occured.

he went to law school late. he started at 34, so he’s still not a partner at 42. but since he had a career as a newspaper reporter and a master’s in creative writing and he was editor in chief of law review, he had his choice of firms to join.

he likes his job but he works like a dog. i couldn’t work the hours he works.

his dad was a lawyer, his uncle is a lawyer, and his grandfather was a lawyer. when he graduated, my husband was determined not to be a lawyer. he would never have joined his dad’s firm. my dad is a business owner and wanted me to work for him. there is no way i would ever have done that. if you don’t wanna go home to work, i totally get that!!
            :o)

            • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:

Wow, Ladyballs! Your husband is an accomplished dude!! And I can believe he works like a DOG. That’s the billable hour for you.

I know his writing background comes in VERY handy as a lawyer. I write very casually on here, but I Majored in English in Undergrad (Minor in History).

It turns out that it was one of the best degrees to have if you wanted to be an attorney — because it involves LOTS of WRITING (reading and researching too). So, your husband’s at an advantage.

A couple of my classmates had Theater/Acting Undergrad backgrounds. That worked quite well for them too (especially in front of a Jury. It is a bit like theater, I guess).

It sounds like being a lawyer was just in your husband’s DNA and his DESTINY (no matter how hard he tried to fight it). 😉

Oh, and his firm’s policy on Originating Client Credit is AWESOME!! At my last firm, it was the total opposite. That sucked too!

I’m pretty sure your husband WILL eventually make Partner. He sounds like he’s got all of the qualities necessary to do so.

Guess Alexia’s son (allegedly) didn’t learn compassion from his brother’s accident.

“Real Housewives of Miami” star Peter Rosello — the son of housewife Alexia Echevarria — appeared to have assaulted a homeless man on camera this week, then posted the video online … and now, police are looking into the footage. The video was shot in South Beach Monday night — you can see Peter looking into the camera, and introduce the “prank” by saying, “Punching a hobo in the nuts.”Peter then walks up to a sleeping homeless man and tells him, “I was gonna give you five dollars” … before dropping his fist into the man’s crotch.Peter and his cameraman then run to a nearby car and make their escape. A rep for the Miami Beach PD tells TMZ, the department is currently trying to identify the victim in order to open an investigation.Attempts to reach Peter were unsuccessful. A rep for “Real Housewives” had no comment.

This is despicable. It’s like an old episode of Law and Order or Criminal Minds I really really like Alexia. How could her son be this way? Wow.

      • rabblerouser2010R says:

What a little A hole that kid is.

      • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:

TOTALLY despicable. Alexia seems like such a sweetheart too. Last season, she seemed totally into raising her boys very well and was very concered about their welfare. In short, she appeared to me to be a VERY good mother.

The father of her boys, however, was allegedly a BIG-TIME coke dealer and went to prison for it. Maybe her older son is like his DAD despite Alexia’s best efforts to raise him properly.

        • RealhouseWifeva says:

I didn’t think she was a great mother. Her son acted entitled and she acted like his friend. Typical spoiled rich kid

          • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:

I don’t know. I guess I could see how much she just loved both her kids. She probably did spoil him, though (probably to make up for the fact that he probably never had his real father in his life, which considering the fact that his father is probably not such a nice guy, was not necessarily a BAD thing).

      • WindyCityWondering says:

He oldest seemed pretty self absorbed and his mother seemed more interested in being his friend last year. Maybe because of his little brother’s horrific accident he is trying to get some attention – which doesn’t excuse what an asshat thing he did!

    • Sus says:

Really really gross. What is wrong with people?

Ah, Lifestyles of the over privileged and useless.

    • Powell says:

OMG that’s awful. I’ve seen these hobo beatings on 20/20 or something like that. It’s just horrific. I’m sure Alexia & her husband are horrified & disappointed in him. That kid is lucky to live such a great life his parents provide for him. It shows he has no compassion in his heart.

A picture flashed in my mind of Bethenny meeting Aviva somewhere at some point in time and hearing Aviva drone on and on about all her phobias and personal issues and B getting a huge grin on her face while nodding and feigning interest in what Aviva is saying but the thought bubble saying, “Oh, I have GOT to get Andy Cohen on the phone.”

I was trying to figure out what’s going on with him. Thought maybe he had a stroke.
Seems when he speaking fast, it’s more normal.

      • lovemamaearth says:

Oh maybe so. I thought maybe he was doing it to lower expectation of his success or responses. Thanks for the possible explanation.

    • EllaMinnowPea says:

This time it’s not “celebrity” rehab. Just rehab for regular junkies. I liked the first two seasons but then it just got old. But Dr. Drew may be addicted to being on TV but I’m pretty sure with his practice(s) he doesn’t need the income.

He used to do this show on the radio called Love Line (don’t know if it was syndicated or not) where teens and young adults would call in with questions of a sexual nature and I was always impressed the Dr. Drew could listen to them for a few seconds and be able to tell if they had an addiction problem or some sort of sexual trauma in their past.

    • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:

I do NOT know why, and I can totally GET why many people do NOT like Dr. Drew.

Despite that, I find him sexy for some reason. *Shrug* One would never know it, but he also looks GREAT with his shirt off. I think it’s the gray hair and the glasses and the calming/soothing way he has of talking to a person.

  26. dch60 says:

Great job on the blogs ladies… as usual. Lots of interesting info. I have to say again just how far you’ve all hit it out of the park. NMD, bless your heart.

I’ve been watching the RHoDC since I didn’t catch too much of it the first time and I have to say, I’m really enjoying it! It’s so interesting being in Washington DC, gives it an entire different dimension lacking from the other franchises. This series is too classy for Bravo (other than the Salahis), that’s probably why they dropped it. I love all the ladies, sans Michaela who along with her husband (at the time) is such a phony. Hopefully she’s changed being away from whacko, creepy Taraque (or however it’s spelled). I have to say I really like Cat too. She’s edgy but I find her to have a sensitive side also. And I love watching her with her daughters. Anyway, it’s too bad there’s only one season although it kinda seems out of place on Bravo.

Looking forward to Miami tonight. Hope they air last’s weeks episode before the new one as I still haven’t caught a rerun. Sorry for the lack of the recap of the ladies blogs from last week. They didn’t make much sense to me without seeing the episode itself.

    • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:

Outside of the Salahis, I enjoyed RHODC too, dch. I thought the rest of the women were very classy, mature, sophisticated, educated, and most of them had good careers. Outside of Michaela, they also seemed to have a true sisterhood, and any disagreements/disputes they had were resolved in a MATURE way (You know? Like NORMAL and SANE people.).

CLASSY. SOPHISTICATED. EDUCATED. TRUE FEMALE BONDING (as opposed to catty, jealous, trashy backstabbing behavior). MATURE RESOLUTION OF DISPUTES.

      When I saw all of that….I knew….

those things were going to be the “kiss of death” according to BRAVO’s standards.

  27. dch60 says:

Cannot believe Michaela says “you work hard, give a lot of love and end up at the Whitehouse.” More like “you cheat hard, tell a lot of lies and make a fool out of yourself by ending up at the Whitehouse.” Still can’t believe no charges were ever filed. Something… anything!

dch you liked that line huh? I was thinking “You lie, don’t pay your bills, brag and get invited to The White House”.

  28. Orson says:

It seems I tend to save up my major comments for one meta-post every week or so. Here goes. I’ve decided to start out with a lighter topic and then it’s going to get a bit darker, I’m afraid.

I had a revelation yesterday that this season on RHNY we’ve seen 3 HWs as Mothers.

Carole is the Earth Mother. She’s the always serene, semi-post-hippie, pot-smoking calm in the eye of the hurricane. I’m not going to criticize her for smoking grass. I think everyone my age, somewhere along the line, did it. I gave it up many years ago but some haven’t. So I’d be hypocritical to judge that.

Ramona is the Concerned to the point of Meddling Mother. Her overreaction to Aviva getting her prothetic leg wet is a good example of this. As was her rushing into the kitchen to make certain the proper dishes were going to be served and her telling people where to sit at a meal. I think all mothers do this to some degree. Think about your mother, mother in law, or grand mothers/great aunts. Of course, Ramona has no filters, so she goes overboard.

And there’s Aviva, the Judgemental Mother. She is the judge who proclaims what is right and what is wrong. And she’ll harp on it until, I don’t know, what would satisfy her? Is she caught on some sort of Mobius Loop that she can’t get off of? Oh, and rules don’t seem to apply to her because she’s “special”. Anyway, I feel sorry for her future daughters and sons in law.

Next: While I was reading the blog yesterday, I had a feeling of Deja Vu. I was reading a dialog that I KNOW I had read before. Maybe by the same posters, too. I don’t want to single anyone out and I don’t mean to offend anyone because though I might disagree with some of the posters’ points, I like them both, so I’ll try it this way.

We’ve got Team A. And we’ve got Team B. They’re not really Team B though; they’re really Team NOT A. Think Boolean Algebra. But it’s easier for me to type Team B than it is to type Team NOT A. And Team A posts on the blog pro-A sort of posts. and Team B posts Anti-A type posts. Because, when you’re on a team, you tend to support your team. That’s the natural way of things and is beyond criticism. So, when you read the blog and see posts that support your point of view, you think, “Okay!” and read on. And when you read posts that disagree with your point of view, you think “How can they be so stupid?” and maybe it bothers you a bit. And maybe as you keep on reading posts from both sides, you involuntarily keep a mental tally of how many people on the other team post. And after a day or two of blog reading, if you’re on Team A you get the feeling that the blog has a Team B bias and is unfriendly to Team A. On the other hand, The Team B members get the feeling that the blog has a Team A bias and is unfriendly to Team B. From the recent polls I’ve seen, there’s a slight tilt toward one side, but it’s not an avalanche or overwhelming majority. And I don’t believe there’s any movement to drive people on the other side away. Though there are some trolls with an A or B agenda who ONLY post to disrupt the blog. They can’t hurt Lynn anymore, but maybe they can hurt what she’s left behind. I don’t care if people see things differently than I do. I don’t mind if they express their opinions. If I’m THAT bothered by them, I can just scroll down to the next post.

I’d like to see a poll for Team Teresa people only. I’m curious how many people support her because they like her and/or admire her way of making the best out of a bad family/financial situation and how many people support her basically because she’s on the wrong side of a 4 to 1 gang up.

    • kendo says:

I’ve liked Teresa from the start when they showed her cooking or canning in the garage. Loved the crazy table flip. But I’m on her side now because of all the BS she’s been putting up with and the way that she’s making the most out of it. You can’t say she hasn’t taken advantage of every opportunity. Just find her to be very likable. She may get her words confused, but I think she’s smart and knows how to work it! She’s gone from stay at home spender to working her ass off!

      • lovemamaearth says:

I’ll be a team b person and say I’m against Bravo. I wish everyone would stop watching and see the whole station replaced including the name, those running it, the shows, and thusly the viewers. I’ve seen enough comments to think the gangups are planned and perpetuated by Bravo but shame on those who go along with it—like Adrienne and Taylor and Kyle ganging up on Lisa at the reunion. I don’t like Teresa much because she was willing to be a criminal. And how they have escaped jail, I’m not sure.

    • Eastbayca says:

Team C – those who see both sides of the argument (don’t take the comments personal).

    • cdnfillie58 says:

Hi Orson..miss you. That would be a very interesting poll. You’ve made some very valid and interesting points.

    • ladyballs says:

team d– those who may take a side and don’t take comments personally

      Well said, Orson!

      • Birdwoman says:

Well said Orson!!!! My feelings toward Teresa have always been neutral until this last season. I gave the other cast members a chance to make their case about why Teresa is the anti-christ and they were unable to make their case with me. I find the other ladies on this show to be the evil ones. I do like Teresa more than I did but I would not call myself a ‘fan’ of hers. I think in real life she is the type of woman that would be fun to chat with at your kids events, school ect. but not someone I would form a close friendship with.
But I don’t expect everyone to agree with me and I get why people really don’t like her. I guess that makes me Team C? 🙂

        • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:

I’m with you IN A WAY. I’m different because, in the past seasons, I have NOT been neutral about Teresa.

I liked Teresa in Season 1.

I did NOT like her in Season 2.

I did NOT like her in the beginning of Season 3 and believed everything the others were saying about her until I REALLY, REALLY started paying attention and noticing some things.

After the Season 3 Reunion, Teresa’s OFFSCREEN behavior compared to her cast mates (Twitter, Interviews, etc.) really impressed me. I was disgusted with the antics of the rest of the cast. Also, on “Celebrity Apprentice,” I saw another side to Teresa. So many people on that cast said how SWEET she was. The men just LOVED her. And I noticed that when people would have disagreements or fights, she, for the most part, just stayed OUT OF IT and focused on minding her OWN business.

I also begrudgingly had to admit that she’d gained my respect by the way she continued to hold her head up and work so hard without having a nervous breakdown despite enormous obstacles. The financial mess alone would be enough to break anybody.

Then she’s got her husband who pulls some dumb stuff that could put him in the slammer.

ON TOP OF THAT, she’s got members of her OWN family and people she THOUGHT were her friends just “gunning” for her, Man! It’s unbelievable. It’s even MORE unbelievable because the people gunning for her and pointing out all of her flaws and airing all of her dirty laundry, each have a cemetery full of skeletons THEMSELVES.

So, like you, I like Teresa more than I did in the past, but I would not necessarily call myself a “fan” (because I still want to strangle her from time to time).

I’m just anti-hypocrisy/double-standards; anti-revealing all of a former friend’s business once the friendship is over; anti-talking obsessively about a former friend; anti-airing of family dirty laundry; and anti-ganging up on one person without even taking a break to have a damned snack!!

It’s just TOO MUCH, and it’s disgusting.

I don’t even know WHAT Team that makes me, though. *Shrug*

          • chismosa says:

i see what you’re saying Detox, for me personally re: Celebrity Apprentice, i took Teresa’s demeanor on that show to be a ‘i can’t really roll with these big dogs here so i’m going to lay low and hope to slide by’ attitude. But we all took her behavior on-camera / and in RHNJ, differently as we’ve seen!

I disagree that Teresa would be someone at a store where i could run into her and she would be chatting all nicey nice with me and i with her. I feel she feels she is a superior star and we, her viewers and fans, are all peasants now. She is sweet to us when we’re on line to buy her books and show up to support her- and even then i don’t find her overly warm,– but in every day situations- (well, i don’t see her going to Stop and Shop anymore these days to be honest), i feel i’ve heard that she really doesn’t take to strangers sidling up to her and chit chatting. She’s wayyyy too big for that now. JMHO JMO JMO JMO JMO

If you mean back in the OLD days, season 1– yes, if you ran into her somewhere she’d be willing to talk and be nice. Just now, not happening. But i hate to say if i ran into Caroline or Lauren somewhere i feel they’d be willing to chat with a lowly viewer such as myself 😉

        • I agree with you Birdwoman

    • WindyCityWondering says:

Fact – there were few things Lynn got pissed about but one of them was the whole “team mentality” last year. Everyone can express their opinion in a manner that is not offensive to other posters – to ignore that is to ignore what Lynn asked of us – be respectful to each other. Fact, at our last lunch together, we discussed how polarizing that was and she was glad it wasn’t happening this season. So maybe everyone should back off a little and remember your opinion is important to you and everyone’s feelings should be equally important to all.

      • melthehound says:

Fact… what drives me up the proverbial wall is the mentality that the ‘Tre huggers’ are somehow trying to run everyone else off. It isn’t that they would rather set fire to the Tre than hug it.

        • JenninFL says:

Amen MTH, i don’t post that much but enough to see that you are being attacked. Don’t let the debbie downers win 🙂

    • JustDee says:

      Team E.
I hate Everyone (on the show)

    • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:

This is an EXCELLENT comment, Orson. Me likey.

Very GOOD and ACCURATE analysis too, IMO.

I love that whole “Mother” stuff with RHONY. It’s great (I think Aviva is just a plain old motherF*CKER, but…that’s just ME. *Shrug*).

I answered the Teresa poll up above under Birdwoman’s comment.

      • The tweets last night were some of the funniest things I’ve ever read. Regardless of whose side you’re on you had to have laughed at the comments about big bird, jim lehrer etc., For a moment it made everything just a little more lighthearted!

        My favorites were:

        “Pbs…too big bird to fail”
“Romney- soft on wall street, tough on sesame street”
“Mitt- Sesame street brought to you by the letters F & U”
“Somewhere Paul Ryan is kicking over trash cans trying to smoke out oscar the grouch”

View Video >> EXCLUSIVE: ‘Real Housewives of Miami’ Star — Homeless Man Pressing Charges Over Nut Punch

HOBO JUSTICE!!! TMZ has learned, the homeless man who was assaulted on tape by “Real Housewives of Miami” dumbass Peter Rosello has informed police he wants to press charges … and now, cops are on the hunt for the reality star.Law enforcement sources tell TMZ, the homeless man in the video was contacted by police shortly after the footage surfaced this week — and he asked to press assault charges against Rosello, son of housewife Alexia Echevarria.TMZ posted video of the cruel “prank” early today — showing Rosello punching the guy in the balls while he was sleeping, then running off. Now, law enforcement sources tell TMZ, a detective has been assigned to the case and cops are actively looking to speak to Rosello … and possibly even arrest him on a felony assault charge.Rosello faces a felony charge because of new laws in Florida stemming from similar “pranks.” The new laws classify attacks on homeless people as hate crimes, meaning they carry stricter penalties. If convicted, Rosello could face at least a year behind bars.Attempts to reach Rosello were unsuccessful. Calls to “Real Housewives” were not returned.

    • Winston says:

Wow! That’s really sad. What was he thinking???? I’m sure his mother has enough to deal with without this too. He’s not a minor either and should know better.

    • lovemamaearth says:

I wonder how often that happens and no one hears about it.

      • LaineyLainey says:

prob all the time. it is so sad.

        • lovemamaearth says:

Yes it sure it. As if someone living on the street doesn’t have enough to deal with on an hourly basis. Shame on those privileged pond scum brats.

I just saw Couples Therapy. I think it’s going to be very interesting. And poor Alex walks off in a huff and falls on the patio rock hard surface in a future episode. And that Dirty gossip site guy, seems to be so judgmental. And his business promotes hate. And that 17 yr old prancing around on the plexiglass stilts looks so ridiculous. How did she get a boob job at that age?

          • Sus says:

I read her mother signed the consent form for the foobs 😦

            • lovemamaearth says:

Well some of the tiara tot moms will be doing that soon. It’s so stupid. The therapist asks her if she’s been sexually molested in her childhood. I wonder if she’ll face the truth.

    • melthehound says:

Does anyone believe this kid will get more than a slap on the wrist? I can see all the anti-punish the brat people coming out of the woodwork now.

      • 2Stupid says:

Roy Black will be his attorney!

        • melthehound says:

Is that good or bad? I’ve seen his name here and elsewhere in connection to the Miami women but don’t remember what it was. Then again, I’m not watching them either (had the first 3 on the DVR, got 10 minutes into the first one, erased all 3).

          • Winston says:

Roy Black is Lea Black’s husband. Lea is a Miami Housewife. Roy Black is currently defending John Goodman who killed a man while allegedly drunk driving, he fled the scene. JG then married his girlfriend for financial purposes (there is speculation as to what financial purpose it was.) JG was convicted but is appealing and out of jail while he appeals.
JG is considered a very unsavory character and people question why Roy Black would defend him. Although he has been paid $12 million in legal fees.
Might have been more than you asked for but there is my 2 cents 🙂

            • Sus says:

Roy Black also defended William Kennedy Smith when a girl accused him of date rape. Lea was on that jury and ran into Roy at a dinner party after the trial was over. Ted Kennedy had to get on the stand and admit he didn’t know what happened because he had been drinking and went to bed before the alleged date rape happened. Smith was acquitted.

            • lori says:

I thought he adopted his g/f to avoid paying the family of the young man he hit with his car? I could be wrong…

              • Winston says:

My brain always wants to type the logical thought that he “married” his gf when indeed he ADOPTED her. I did this once before on here.

                • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:

I LOVE my Dad. But I’m tired of working, and I’ve got student loans to pay.

                  If I could find a MULTI-MILLIONAIRE to adopt me….

I’d DUMP my Dad and act like I never met him before in MY life in a NY minute!!

Hey, my parent’s didn’t raise no fool!! I think my Dad would be like, “Hell…I totally understand why she did that. Good for her!!”

                  JUST….

                  KIDDING.

                • lori says:

It’s so sick and twisted on every level no wonder you thought marriage. I think I read his biological kids are really mad..who can blame them?

            • chismosa says:

I thought this was the story of the man who ADOPTED his girlfriend for financial purposes.. i thought i read about this in a NY paper recently. Or i may be confusing this with another case similar to this about hiding assets

          • Nancy says:

Roy Black is an attorney that represented Kennedy-Smith who was charged with raping a women on the Kennedy compound years ago. He was acquitted and went on the become a doctor.

          • melthehound says:

Isn’t she the one who calls herself the ‘Mayor of Miami’? She’s the reason I erased the 3 episodes I had on the DVR. I take it that neither Roy Black or John Goodman are liked around these parts. Kennedy should have gone to prison. Yep, I’m guessing this kid is going to walk with a wrist slap and they’ll probably give him a long sleeved shirt so it doesn’t sting. Lifestyles of the over privileged and useless.

        • ladyballs says:

          brilliant.

  33. ladyballs says:

unpopular cast member on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, but RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned Bravo plans to bring on two new women for next season’s show who are ‘Team Teresa’ to balance things out.

    • Nancy says:

      Hi lb,
      Did it say who’s out?

      • ladyballs says:

if you haven’t read it yet, it says they’ve all been asked back.
of course, that can be interpreted all kinds of ways.

        • Powell says:

Well we know that’s not true. That won’t have that many HWs. IMO at least 2 were not asked back.

          • melthehound says:

I read (here) that Jac and Kathy weren’t asked back and Momz has decided not to continue. How are they going to market Miracle Murk if that’s truly the case?

            • WindyCityWondering says:

Sometimes I think the “asked back” articles are Bravo gauging viewers’ opinions for the sole purpose of what will happen to sponsors and ad rates if rating change.

              • ladyballs says:

bravo could ask someone back at half salary or ask them back as a “friend of.”

              • melthehound says:

I’m sure it really doesn’t make any difference who is asked back, Windy. It’ll likely be the same shitfest with new kids but perhaps with a reversal of roles.

  34. ladyballs says:

It’s no secret that Teresa Giudice is the most unpopular cast member on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, but RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned Bravo plans to bring on two new women for next season’s show who are ‘Team Teresa’ to balance things out.

  35. Exit4 says:

No jail for Joe-yet-he’s back in court the 29th I set the trial of the century date!

    • Birdwoman says:

so do you think he will enter a plea?

      • Nancy says:

The million dollar question. He would be out in 21/2 yrs if he does. It could be 10 years
if he doesn’t. I would take it.

        • Powell says:

He’d better take it. If Joe went to trial and got the max I suspect that while in jail he would get into all kind of fights & end up getting more time.

      • Exit4 says:

The paper said they were going to set a trial date…so I guess he’s taking his chances with a jury. Or him and his lawyers will file some motion before the 29th and keep dragging it out, all the while trying to negotiate a better plea that he will take.

  36. MamaZ says:

Let me see if I’ve got this right. Simon and Alex’s relationship was damaged by being on a reality show. So to try and repair it they go on another reality show.

    • Birdwoman says:

Maybe they want a divorce? 🙂 I see that reality tv is bad for marriages…

    • Sus says:

Right. Because VH1 is highbrow compared to Bravo – NOT

    • melthehound says:

Damaged by being on a show or damaged by getting fired from said show. It seems to me, correct me if I’m wrong, they hitched a lot of wagons to RHONY. I still say, it is Simon who was fired and Alex got caught in the crossfire. They’ve been trying to remain TV relevant ever since.

      • contessa says:

Hi Jeff, I am with you on this, and from what I have read, it seems Alex was really upset with Simon on the show – like red in the face/tears stuff. I have a feeling she resents his meddling in her opportunities. I agree with you about Alex getting caught in the crossfire. I think they should drop Adiva and bring Alex back. She would be a good bridge between the old and new?

        • Powell says:

I agree MTH & Contessa. Simon became addicted to the HWs. Why would he give up a high paying job that afforded them travel all over the world, the best designer clothes & access to events like the Opera. Do you think Simon quit his job or they asked him to leave?

          • Nancy says:

Or did Jill get him fired?

            • Powell says:

You know what Nancy? Previously I would’ve said no way but now that she’s going to be on WWHL it could be possible. As I said earlier JZ must have some compromising pics of somebody at NBC/Bravo.

        • melthehound says:

It seemed to me that she spent most of her time , defending Simon’s hovering over these women at the ‘events’. I don’t know how they were in S1 and S2 though. S3 was my first.

    • EllaMinnowPea says:

Seriously, I wonder if they see the irony there.
It also makes me think my suspicions are correct – normal marital troubles mixed with a severe need to be on TV.

    • Powell says:

Right MamaZ. For someone that criticized B for highlighting her therapy on the show he purposely goes on to do a “therapy” reality show. When I tweeted Simon months ago telling him he’s a hypocrite he told me I needed to watch.

    • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:

Oh my God! I never realized the irony until you just pointed it out. Excellent point.

  37. BB says:

  38. Powell says:

    • MamaZ says:

I don’t know. I didn’t watch last season. I do like NeNe but I think I prefer seeing her on The New Normal. I don’t want to see her fighting with people.

      • Powell says:

        I hear that!

      • LaineyLainey says:

But her natural wit is what makes her scenes remarkable. She is unique that way. Brandi has that special something too. Maybe nene could write for a show, too. She really is good with the comebacks.

    • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:

If it’s true that this might be Nene’s last season, I’m wondering how RHOA will be with NO “Nene”. I can’t even picture it.

  39. LaineyLainey says:

  40. contessa says:

Getting back to Alexia’s son on RHMiami…I thought he was a brat last year and had a sense of entitlement. Alexia admitted spoiling him. I thought everything came to easy for that kid, out at all hours, buying expensive gifts, credit cards and trying to make him a model – duh? I am hoping our beloved Jeff is wrong and that he will be the celebrity kid that will be the poster child for if you do the crime you will do the time. That was an interesting read. She seems to have a similar take to many of us.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

Thanks I enjoyed Cat’s take on the NY crew. Bravo would be wise to tap her writing talent as she knows the franchise model so well.

    • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:

I haven’t read this blog yet, but I WILL.

You just reminded me about RHONY. I finally saw the finale today. Aviva is STONE COLD CRAZY. I like the way Heather took no sh*t and made it a point to tell Sonja and Ramona EXACTLY how she felt. I was angry with Carole for following Aviva’s lead and telling Ramona she was wrong for having George escorted out.

Was LuAnn even IN the episode? She’s become almost like a painting on the wall in a scene. Just there. *Shrug*

      • chismosa says:

Luann wasn’t even on this SEASON. I think Cat is onto something that Lu made the whole Johnny Depp thing up

Luv I don’t care if the producres, badly, Kim G & the “friend” Jac was texting w/went to Jac, Mel & Caroline & say T had nothing to do w/it, She didn’t know they would all say T may have had nothing to do w/it but it’s because of her that it even occured. They will never apologize because when it comes down to it they are all jealous of Ts accomplisments. They’ve got their panties in a twist cause she’s worked her ass off & it’s paying off. I don’t like what she’s done w/the mags but she’s been hustling.

      • Cartwheels says:

Bravo and the other castmates know 100% now that Teresa is the one who got set up and not Melissa, they just keep saying it because Bravo intentionally left the viewers with that impression and it is in their in their best interest to perpetuate the lie. They figure the regular viewer takes what Bravo shows at face value, they do not real blogs or tweets or any of the backhanded crap that the other ladies have done to Teresa.
They are hypocritical because they say that fame has changed Teresa but won’t admit that it has changed them too. They all can go and scratch if you ask me , the one who I can’t believe is still going on with this charade is Joey Gorga, he must know by know that all this was purely production manipulation and his wife was into it knee deep. Makes wonder if he was also part of it because if he wasn’t , why he hasn’t reach out to his sister yet.
I think that what Teresa said is the truth, she really at this point and watching how these 4 witches have tried to destroy her for two seasons, she doesn’t give a f&^k ab out any of them, except for Joey. I hope Teresa know understands that her brother was part of the gang and as painful as it is, Teresa needs to realize that even if they were so close once upon a time, they will never have the same relationship, there is nothing to rescue there, the love was one sided, Teresa loved her brother but her brother did not reciprocate, Teresa needs to let Joey go from her heart so he won’t be able to hurt her anymore.

        • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:

          Yep.

Joey is FREDO from “The Godfather.”

          • disgrazia4 says:

Folletto is as dumb as a box of rocks. He is fed by the three Marco stregi and their food is poison. He is filled with poison. About this he never lied. Seriously, he is easily manipulated but also gladly. For he is the one that wants his sister’s place on TV, perhaps even more than his wife.

    • chismosa says:

my whole issue is they can’t the other castmates own up to hating Teresa for reasons other than this fake and bake finale set up? And why must we use the ‘jealousy/envy’ card for everyone? I hate many people and am not jealous of them (and i do therapy so i know my subconscious girlfriend 😉 )
I hate Teresa and it has almost nothing to do with the finale mishmash

    • kit9 says:

It’s absurd to say Teresa wasn’t involved. Everytime I see the episode I catch more damning evidence.

about a month ago, i posted a compliment to the gals who write this blog. i was asked if i was new and i replied that i’d been reading the blog for a couple years but didn’t post in the comment section. i was encouraged to respond in the comment section, which i appreciated, and i began to do so.

within a day or two of posting comments, i received aggressive questions about everything i’d written. i felt attacked. i’m a big girl, so it didn’t upset me, but i had a negative feeling toward this blog and posters here. because i enjoyed the blog, i decided to rack it up as not knowing who is who and decided to continue trying to make an in-road here.

today, exit4 called me stupid. scroll up to see the exchange.

i’ve enjoyed “talking” with lots of you. i appreciate those who’ve kindly asked me to stay, but unfortunately exit4 is the rule and not the exception here.

i’ll continue to read, but i’m outta here.
    ;o)

    • djprincessc says:

Aww don’t go! I’ve been a reader of lynn’s blog since it was called “I hate Jill Zarin” and I never posted till about a couple months ago before Lynn passed away, and people have been very nice but then there are a few that just take this sooooo seriously and say things that aren’t right for no reason, I’ve experienced a few REALLY rude comments myself but I refuse to leave because of someone else! If someone is going to flip and be nasty over a blog I can’t imagine how they behave in person. If someone can’t be civil about a blog, I can’t imagine how they would act if their mail is late or their order at a restaurant was wrong (idk tantrums come to my mind) being called stupid obviously isn’t right or fun, but that person or anyone (I’m assuming) doesn’t’ know you from a can a paint in real life so who cares what they think or say of you! I think you should stay, but I do understand why you wouldn’t. xo!

    • Zoey says:

Ladyballs, I hope you stay as well. I think there is much more good here than negative, and a lot of heart, or I wouldn’t stay either. I wish I knew the right thing to say but I don’t, as I read the exchange above and thought it was completely out of line as well.
This is when Lynn used to step in and quash that type of behavior. You wouldn’t think that would be necessary among adults, but I guess it is.

    • I Need A Housewives' Detox Program says:

      Ladyballs,

Several of us (including myself ) have taken AND given “hits” here. It’s not just personal to you. Stuff like this just happens. Not everybody is going to like everybody else or agree with each other’s opinions. But that’s o.k. There will still be people that like and value your opinion — even if they disagree.

      I like Exit 4, and I like you. I hope you’ll stay.

    • JenninFL says:

I may have gotten the wrong impression but to me it seems that you have been intentionally trying to instigate fights with a lot of people on this board since you started posting. Your comments always seem to be “looking for a fight”. I hate Tre but it seems if anyone likes her you try to start trouble with them… If anyone has a different opinion from you, you attack them and then pretend you’re “just kidding”. I hate to see anyone leave but don’t be a hypocrite. It you attack, be aware if people comment back.

      • JenninFL says:

        Also you attacked Exit4 repeatedly.

      • MamaZ says:

Jen – I agree. If someone wants to be confrontational they shouldn’t complain when people respond. I also don’t want anyone to feel like they’ve been run off but what’s good for the goose and all that.

        • PJ says:

MamaZ and Jen I’m so glad you said this because it was exactly what I think. Also Constantly threatening to leave and then having people beg you to stay. If you’re going to dish it out be prepared to take it don’t pretend you’re kidding and it’s all someone else.

          • lovemamaearth says:

I think people mention leaving when they feel unwelcome. Who here hasn’t said something that didn’t get a reaction. The difference for some is that they have friends who comment to them. JMHO

            • PJ says:

You have to give it time for that to happen.

              • lovemamaearth says:

Kind of true on the friends part. Plus I thought after my comment that some people would rather bristle and take offense rather than accept that sometimes just not agreeing politely is the only option. Not saying this is what happened here.

      • ms molly says:

I also noticed a kind of “goading” in your comments too, for the past week.

    • NJBev says:

      Ladyballs.
It is inevitable that we will perceive some comments and responses as unkind,
or even rude. It’s hard to determine how to accept a comment when you can’t
hear the tone or inflections in the posters voice~so easy to misconstrue! I’d
be lying if I said i wasn’t guilty of this, it’s so easy to get your feelings hurt.

In regard to the exchange above I would say this individual was completely
out of line, and you have every right to feel offended. But why should you
leave because someone else has no manners? Where’s the justice in
that? Sooo, imo, you should just stay and avoid the rude one. What,
you gonna let her win? fuhgeddabowdit. 🙂

    • Lady Chatterley says:

I hope you’ll stick around, LB – I enjoy your comments immensely. Hang in w/us! 🙂

    • ladyballs says:

don’t even know if anyone will read this at this point, but here goes anyway…..

if i eat something that wakes me up in the middle of the night with gas, i don’t get mad at the food..i just consider it something i don’t like to eat. if i try to eat the food again using a different recipe and still get gas, well it’s clear that food doesn’t agree with me. why keep on trying to eat it?

that’s a silly way of illustrating my experience, but i think you get what i mean. it’s not about winning– although i totally get what you mean, njbev ;o)– it’s just not pleasant to be here for me.

exit4 was so clearly outta line it was shocking, frankly. i was interested to see how this behavior was tolerated. i found out it’s acceptable. and not only acceptable, but applauded by some.

i wanted to tell exit4 to fuck off, but that would make me as crazy as exit4. i don’t wanna be like exit4…yelling at people i don’t know about a silly tv show on an internet blog. good grief. it’s embarrassing at the very least.

so before i loose my integrity, i’m leaving.

the only reason i posted i was leaving is i hoped the feedback would be useful for those who care about that kind of thing.

      • lovemamaearth says:

I’m sorry you feel that way. A few others have too. It’s hard to decide when it’s childish and taking your ball and going home OR just deciding it’s not the right chat place for you/me.

If it’s one person who over reacted, why not assume she or he had a bad day or something said triggered the response. You had plenty of positive responses just like that young gal who took offense to something I said. But the one comment was the tipping point for some reason.

We’ve all had people react/overreact to our comments. Leaving a whole blog for one person would be like going anorexic using your example. What is with the thin skin?

        • ladyballs says:

it’s not one person who seems to “stalk” my comments then vigoriously challenge every point i make. it’s a group of 3 or 4 posters who do this. at first, i thought i wasn’t making my points well and was misunderstood. but the more i explained what i was saying the more aggressive the responses became. ironically (or not!), this is exactly what exit4 lost his/her mind over.

my name isn’t ladyballs by accident. i’m a tough cookie who is irreverent and likes base humor. i really don’t have a thin skin. i chat everyday in a room that is 90% male during the opie and anthony radio show. i’ve been chatting in there for years where nothing is sacred. it’s brutal and hilarious.

this group is convinced– even after reading the exchange between exit4 and me– that i’m the one who is attacking exit4. this is not a matter of thin skin. it’s insane.

i’m not mad or hurt or anything like that. i just don’t want to deal with crazytown.
          ;o)

          • lovemamaearth says:

Fair enough. I haven’t noticed the pattern but I’m not you. I saw more people agreeing and laughing with you than not.

If you change your mind, you know where we’ll be. 🙂 Thanks for explaining. (and I hope I wasn’t one you felt was dogging you)
