Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 5 Premieres Tonight – Let’s Catch up and then Chat

Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 5 Premier by NoMoreDrama

The real housewives of Atlanta is in its 5th season.  It was the third franchise (after Orange County and New York) to be developed for Bravo, and pulls in the highest ratings.

It averaged 2.9 million viewers for Season 3 and 2.8 for Season 4 when NeNe and Kim virtually refused to film together at all.

Compare that to Beverly Hills which averaged 2.1 million viewers for their Second season, and New Jersey which pulled in 2.7 million viewers Season 2, and 2.6 million average for Seasons 3 and 4.  All of this information was mined from

Two originals remain on the show – breakout stars NeNe Leakes and Kim Zolciak. The other three rounding out the original cast were DeShawn Snow, Lisa Wu Hartwell who was on Seasons 1 and 2, and Sheree Whitfield who was let go last year.

DeShawn Snow was reportedly dropped after she refused to engage in drama with her castmates on the reunion show.  It was probably a mistake by production, as her real life ended up being full of drama as it turned out her husband Eric Snow was cheating on her and fathered a love child with his mistress prior to his divorce from DeShawn.

Lisa Wu Hartwell filmed a few scenes for Season 3 before being eased off the show.  Lisa went public claiming that producers asked her to throw her out of work husband Ed under the Bravo bus for ratings.  Shortly after that Lisa and Ed divorced.

In Season 2 Kandi Burress joined the show, the first bonafide celebrity to join any franchise of the Real Housewives.  Kandi’s on-screen fiance was killed towards the end of the season in a fight outside an Atlanta bar.  This led to a very emotional reunion for the season, where the ladies were remarkably subdued.  Rumors also abounded that they were not paid extra for the reunion and refused to bring any drama.

This was also the season when Kim Zolciak sung her way to a successful single (with the help of autotune) “Don’t be Tardy for the Party.”  She gave an unfortunate performance at the reunion with her castmates struggling to hold their facial expressions still (and not bust out laughing).

(PS -I don’t remember where I read any of this so if I’m wrong feel free to correct me).

Seasons 4 and 5 added attorney Phaedra Parks and model Cynthia Bailey.  This season will have the largest cast yet, with Kenya Moore and Porsha Steward joining the cast.

If rumors are true, Kim Zolciak will still retain housewife billing, but will have very little interaction with the other ladies.

Kim will also have a second year of her spin-off, and Kandi has been given the green light for a full season of her spinoff the Kandi Factory.  With NeNe Leakes landing a role on the sitcom The New Normal, that makes this cast the most successful in spinning their housewives roles into gold.

Cynthia Bailey:  Cynthia gave an interview with on the upcoming season.  I don’t find Cynthia that interesting, so I only cut and paste one Q & A from the interview.  I found she gave pretty vague, vanilla answers to the questions.

How often do you hang out with some of the other ladies when the cameras aren’t rolling?
“I hang out with NeNe the most; we really connected on screen and off screen. She really is typically my best friend on the show, and we spend quite a bit of time together. I also have spent a little bit of time with Candy. We kind of are in the same circles, we are getting to know each other, and our friendship evolves this season. I talk to pretty much all the girls from time to time on the phone with the exception of Kim. Kim doesn’t really call, but for the most part I have a cordial relationship with all the girls, I would say. If I see Kim, I would say hello but we don’t really talk on the phone.”

You can read the full interview here.

NeNe Leakes

Rumors have been swirling for a few years now that NeNe Leakes is done with housewives now that her Hollywood career is on the rise.

A fan tweeted  NeNe and said:  “I hear this season of RHOA is ur last season. I refuse 2 watch w/o u on it”

NeNe’s response:  “Hunni I ain’t goin no where.”  Fans of NeNe can let out a sigh of relief!

NeNe also talked (tweeted) about getting her own show:

Fan to NeNe:  “dey jus need 2 go ahead & giv @NeNeLeakes her own show.”

NeNe’s reponse:  “I hav been offered a show a few times! It’s gotta b the right time.”

  1. Powell says:

Good afternoon everyone. I’m glad we heard from Plainviewsue & Jill. I’m so sorry they are w/o power but it’s good they’re w/family & friends. Hope they along w/everyone else gets their power back very soon. I hope you all had a good weekend.

  2. TexasTart says:

Hello everyone, this was posted on an older thread. I’ve taken the liberty to copy and move over here so more you will get to see it!

JUST WONDERING IN JERSEY wrote on November 4, 2012:
“You will be happy to hear and I am happy to report that the tree is still standing and didn’t drop a limb; a few branches but no limbs. The problem was the shearing off of the top of the utility pole across the street which left the transformer dangling and pulled the wires down. It looks like a war zone in this small town. Everywhere you go are downed trees and wires but they are steadily working to open the streets.

Lost power Monday eve and they replaced the utility pole Friday afternoon so power was restored Sat. morning. Got hold of the cable company last night and low and behold the guy was here to reattach me about a half hour ago. Yea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was starting to run out of new books to read LOL.

MTH I owe you big time for telling me how to light the stove. The warmth from the coffee and a hot meal kept me going when I was so cold I wanted to cry. Seriously I am truly grateful and I was able to pass the info on to my friend who also did not know.

My house/property have no problems and it appears the other houses on this street are also OK. Several trees went thru houses on the other side of town but that’s all I have seen. I have had no news; just what I could see while trying to find my way in and out of town to see where I can get gas/supplies. We are on even/odd rationing just like it was back in the 70s with all the long gas lines. I went to our local deli on Thursday and the two women who run it were sitting in the dark but they had the batteries and fire starter and bananas I wanted LOL. Unreal.

I have so much to catch up on and it may take some time but I wanted to report in as soon as possible and also to thank MTH/Jeff again. Also, thanks BB for the email. It’s good to be back and in time for Real Housewives tonight. I must stay Cablevision is Johnny on the spot when you need them!”

    • Just Wondering In Jersey says:

Thanks Texas Tart for transferring it for me. I think I’m somewhere in Oz still since I can’t seem to put things in the right place LOL.

      • I’m so glad that tree didn’t fall! I was pretty worried about you. (PS – you put your post in the right place, I just started the new blog at almost the exact time you posted.)

      • BB says:

I’m so glad to hear from you Just Wondering. One more off the list. Thank goodness you’re OK.

      • Kansas Girl says:

Yay! She’s ok! And the tree didn’t fall!!! I’m so, so glad to hear from you. We have just a few people we’ve not heard from, so you’ve been very much on our minds.

      • LaineyLainey says:

Hi Just Wondering: I posted on the other blog how wonderful it is to hear from you and your tree that “must not fall” and it DIDN’T FALL. And that is just wonderful!!! We were all praying for you and your tree.

      • Yeah! So good to hear you are ok. So worried about you! Glad that everything is slowly getting back to normal. You will get your bearings soon. You showed a lot of courage! Good for you!

      • trudie says:

So glad you are safe. I think we should all take a road trip and cut down that darn tree for you!

      • Boobah says:

Glad to hear that you are safe, finally warm, and powered up!

      • Eastbayca says:

Welcome back Just Wondering In Jersey, glad you come out intact.

        • chismosa says:

Hi Just Wondering, so jelly you got your power back but so glad your tree is still up, that was giving me giggles hearing that tag line about the tree that cannot FALL. Glad for u We waited about 3 hours yesterday for our gas but my friends and f of friends have been waiting around 5- 9 hours to get gas and some got to the front of the line and then NOT get it

    • Powell says:

TexasTart bless JWIJs heart. I’m so glad she and her neighbors have no damage and her power is back on. That’s something that they had to replace the utility pole. I tell you MTH thk goodness for you & you tip about the gas stove. I sure didn’t know that and JWIJ used your knowledge & pasted it on. 🙂

  3. LavaLady says:

Update from northern NJ: Still no power; power company say it could be another week. No cable or internet either. No school tomorrow, so no work again for me. That’s six days with no school and no work for me. Gasoline lines here seem to be easing up a little; several more stations had gas today, and the lines were not too bad. LavaMan’s office has power again, so he’ll be back to a normal schedule, somewhat, tomorrow. Generator is keeping us sane, as is going to my sister’s every day to use her internet and appliances. Also, a good friend has invited us for dinner the last three nights. She lives in our town and has power, and has had a houseful every night. Everyone brings something, and we play board games and laugh a lot and drink wine.

News from the Jersey Shore is dismal, bleak and any other adjective that applies. Absolutely no access to our town, which is on what they call a barrier island. Officials are saying there may be limited access in a week or so. Just one day to go in, take your valuables and papers, and leave. No one will be able to live there full time for at least two months. It is all very confusing, and information is limited. There are many rumors out there.

I wish I could thank all of you in person for your kinds words and support. Please know how much I appreciate all of you and this blog as well. Much love, LavaLady.

    • Thank goodness for your friends and sister. Crossing all my fingers and toes that your electricity comes on sooner than expected, and when you finally get to the other house things are better than you expected. ((((LavaLady)))))

    • TexasTart says:

LavaLady, thanks so much for the update, it’s interesting to know what goes on, I just wish it could progress much faster for you! Take Care. 🙂

    • Powell says:

Oh LavaLady I’m so sorry. Another week w/o power. I’m glad you have tour family & friends. This is all just incredible. I hope your kids are alright. I’ll just keep NY & NJ in my prayers.

    • BB says:

I wish there was something I could do, LavaLady, for you and the others still without power. I hope you all get it back sooner than later. One you get that, the other things will fall into place, slowly but surely.

    • Kansas Girl says:

If our good wishes could only heal all the problems, the whole area would be back to normal now! Hang in there. We’re right there with ya, in a virtual sense.

    • trudie says:

It is heart warming to hear of the generosity of others and how people come together to help each other out. The lack of concrete news must be maddening, but I suppose nobody really knows how long it will take to make inroads into the devastation that has occurred. I wish I could do more than send positive thoughts and prayers your way.

    • Boobah says:

((LavaLady)) I am really hoping you get your power back asap. I know it’s not easy but hang in there.

    • chismosa says:

Hi Lava, in the same boat as u here in Long Island. I even know someone who never lost power and then JUST lost power yesterday. Ha!

I never understood what a barrier island is, I keep hearing Christie mention it all the time I need to wiki this. Is Fire Island barrier ?

      • Kansas Girl says:

Yes, it is. But my question is how did barrier islands come to exist? Are they natural or man-made? I understand that they protect the shoreline, and in this storm they clearly did take the brunt of the damage.until the tidal surge came in.

        • chismosa says:

i still don’t get it . i will have to wiki this Kansas G. It’s so interesting. I didn’t even know that most of the lower lower island of Manhattan was manmade and not natural. I really need to get on the History channel and eduMAcate myself. ha

  4. Just Wondering In Jersey says:

I’m having so much trouble focusing so I’m gonna take my coffee and plant myself in front of the TV–lots to catch up on there too, sigh.

I hope everyone who has no power gets it real quick. It was making me nuts and cold. I was even getting tired of hearing the neighbor’s generators while I was shaking in me boots. At least we are all OK so far.

  5. LavaLady….I am wishing really hard you (& others) get your power back really soon.
JWIJ…I posted upthread, but so glad you are safe and back in the fold.

Did anyone else see the picture this morning on the front page of New Yorker magazine? It is a view from a helicopter the night of the storm when parts of Manhatten and NY lost power. It is an absolutely incredible shot. So, so sorry what everyone has had to go through!

Sending lots of warm thoughts, love and hugs!

  6. LaineyLainey says:

NMD – I finally got around to reading this new blog. Thanks for doing it, a trip down Memory Lane. I did not know about DeShawn’s ex husband doing all of that to her. Conceiving a child with his mistress, etc. He had me fooled.

    • LaineyLainey says:

I just googled her name (DeShawn Snow) and I found this article about her weight loss transformation after the divorce.

      • Powell says:

Deshawn looks great. She says she wants to lose 10 more lbs but I think she can stop where she is. Good for her. Wasn’t the mistress Deshawn’s GF? She’s better off w/o him. When they were on the show it seemed like she was doing all the lifestyle things for him anyway. She seems to be a nice person & HWs wasn’t for her cause she wouldn’t bring the controversy or fights.

      • chismosa says:

The shots of her with the purple and then slimmer in red dress do NOT look like the same woman, in the face I mean. The other pictures do look like her just slimmer but that dress shot? Something odd.

        • LaineyLainey says:

          • chismosa says:

it just looks like a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT WOMAN. The face shots of her do look just like her, just slimmer. those full body ones are very suspect.

she has always been so pretty IMO

    • I also read somewhere (a long time ago) that he was fairly verbally abusive to her in front of the camera crew. I think back then they were more careful about what they exposed to the viewers.

        • LaineyLainey says:

Holy Schnitzel!!! (quoting Marysol Patton) how horrible. I like what this commenter had to say:

“And I’ve said it before & I’ll say it again: DeShawn was weak as hell w Eric. She needed to tighten her wig & get all She by Sheree on his ass the very first time he talked smack to her. You know your shit’s real bad when BRAVO steps in to help out. For real.”

DeShawn is so much prettier than the other woman. Not that it matters, I guess.

          • Powell says:

Holy Schnitzel Batman!! You are so right Lainey.

          • ATLnNYC09 says:

The truth of that comment speaks volumes. I remember DeShawn from Season 1. She always acted like things were so perfect with her and Eric. That always sends up a red flag for me. Sort of like Adrienne trying to put on airs with Paul during Season 1 of Beverly Hills. She really wasnt that good of an actress though as we could always see her true disdain for him.

            • LaineyLainey says:

So True Atl, Adrienne always seemed a bit “off”…she just hated/hates Paul doesn’t she?? I remember thinking, “How hard would it be to act nice?” But if you hate someone you can’t act nice. The hate is so thick you can cut it with a knife. I wonder how he felt about being on camera with this disdainful harpy? Maybe it was a reprieve to have the cameras around.

            • RealHousewifeVA says:

I ALWAYS say the ones who have to act like everything is so perfect and amazing, are lying. I have been married for 12 years and we are in love, but we don’t act like we just met. That would be so phony. We’ve been through ups and downs and are very comfortable with ourselves without having to ‘prove’ anything to anyone.
Tamra did that in her first 2 seasons with Simon, now she’s doing it with Eddie. Lisa did it with Ed, look where they are. I thought all the DC ladies were happy in their relationships (aside from Cat) and look how they ended up. Nene used to talk about Greg like he was so amazing, then she leaves him. Teresa did it about Juicy, and we all see how that worked out. Now we see it with others like Melissa/Joe, Kathy/Rich… I’ll never understand why people feel they need to prove something to others.

              • ATLnNYC09 says:

Very true. Housewives protesting too much. I wonder how people would react if the wives just up and said, during the first three episodes, my marriage isnt perfect but we make it work.

              • LaineyLainey says:

Lisa Vanderpump seems real. Kyle…not sure about that one.

                • Kansas Girl says:

My BFF met Lisa Vanderpump and Ken Todd when they ate at Villa Blanca. She said Lisa seems to be 100% what we see. She said Lisa is even prettier and thinner, but Ken is, well she said he’s just not a pretty man, LOL. Ken walked up and handed Giggy to my friend’s hubby and the two men had a good chat about their little dogs. (BFF had just lost their little dog.) She brought me pictures of them, which I display in my office. (No one cares, no one knows who they are!)

              • chismosa says:

I don’t remember Kathy singing serenades to Rich on screen? Did she? She just seemed to talk about her strong family and her trying to keep her kids on the right path and IMHO her kids seem like the only ones in this entire franchise who are going to have very minimal problems when they grow up. Fantastic kids.

Joey is the one who proclaims his love for Melissa more so and that is sweet in his little “dumb-ish” ways IMO. Melissa IMO IMO IMO had PLENTY of attacking of her relationship with her husband by her husband’s sister that led her to HAVE to finally address how stable their relationship is. JMO JMO JMO.

                • trudie says:

Don’t forget about Kathy saying Richie’s erect kickstand (thank you MTH for that expression!) was her daily wake up call.

                  • chismosa says:

Yeah no I def remember that. I don’t know, perhaps it was sarcasm, trying to show her annoyance at Rich, or a stab at a Lea -Black- type of humor (yuck). I know I’m complete minority in my like for the opposite team on nj. It’s ok. I’m cool with it 😉

                    • RealhouseWifeva says:

Well my post wasn’t about “teams”. I was pointing out the fake behaviors, IMO. I’m a fan of Nene, T and most of the DC ladies but I can still recognize when their being fake 😉

                • LaineyLainey says:

                  LOL LOL LOL

                • RealhouseWifeva says:

I Totally see it differently, but it’s all good 🙂

          • chismosa says:

Where did Marisol get the expression “holy schnitzel” from? Just wondering
            Is that a real expression?

            • LaineyLainey says:

Well, if it wasn’t real before, it’s real now!!! 🙂

              • chismosa says:

It’s funny I like it. I like Marisol. I like all the Cubanas and Brazilian on that show (Well plus Lisa, who I don’t know if she’s Hispanic or not)

                • LaineyLainey says:

I like it, too!! It’s a good exclamatory phrase – cause it’s not really a bad word, but the German xxxcchhhhh sound of it sounds extra funny and rolls off the tongue. Of course you don’t have to do the German xxcchhh sound, I do it for fun. But only in my head. I assumed Lisa was hispanic, but she may not be. I like that whole mix of cultures and accents. These Miami ladies (and I use the term loosely) are certainly the most beautiful group and their colorful and blingy – I lovvvvee that. With Beverly Hills close behind. OC…no. yuck. New York – yeah, they’re not bad but they’re not dazzly; they really are more elegant. Which I lubwadmire, but it’s not as eye-catchy as the Miami look. NJ – no, no, no…They are all…into clubwear…from Posche and Posh. Blingy but tacky. Those styles kinda suit Mel and Tre, but not Jac and Kathy. Holy Scccxxxhhhnitzel, I really went off on a tangent, didn’t I?? LOL

                  • chismosa says:

i totally agree with you LL. NY ladies are very elegant but this season gotta say— quite TOOTH-y in their looks.
Miami has the most beautiful IMO too. They dress quite colorfully there but it’s Miami. Remember back many seasons ago in RHNY when Bethenny was escaping Jason #1 to go to Miami (where her friend told her her eggs are going to get ‘aged’ if she doesn’t have kids soon)— and Bethenny was packing and was like ‘ehh it’s Miami so i can wear more tacky stuff’.

I wish i watched Bev Hills but just from all the things i see and hear i can tell it’s pure elegance. High class all the way. And if they have work done on themselves, it looks GOOD. (except that dreadful Taylor’s mouth)

        • Sus says:

Whew! I had no idea about Eric Snow. They have the cutest kids.

DeShawn was a trip with her Head Housekeeper and all that. She was trying to create the hierarchy with servants like her house was Downton Abbey.

          • LaineyLainey says:

What a horrible man. egads!!! I’m glad I married my goofy guy!! He’s so sweet to me. I should be nicer to him!! 🙂

  7. Kat from Ohio says:

loved deshawn. i missed lisa too. i think i will also miss sheree. really atlanta is the most fun for me–not as dark. yes the women want fame, but they’re not destroying/exploiting their families to get it. i even wish well for kim who i think has changed since meeting that wonderful man, kroy. nene needs to get back together with gregg. he balanced her.

    • RealHousewifeVA says:

I thought DeShawn was silly with her quest to find an assistant to help her…do what? I have no idea. And her goal of raising a million dollars at her charity function. But overall, she did seem sweet.

  8. Powell says:

NeNe has changed so much from S1. A total transformation. I wonder what Sheree is doing. Last I read she was working w/a jewelry website where she picks jewelry for people to purchase. She’d better do something cause her settlement will not go far when she insists she’s building a house & she has 2 kids to take care of.

    • BB says:

Last I heard, Sheree said she was “fielding offers.”

      • RealHousewifeVA says:

LOL. Nene was so right in the last reunion when she told Sheree that she chose the wrong team and should have stuck with Nene. I knew right then that Sheree would not be returning. I think even Sheree got a little panicked at that moment.

        • ATLnNYC09 says:

Yes she did. Sheree was so delusional to think she would automatically be chosen for season 5, even though she didnt have anything really going on (no storyline) except her issues with Bob.

    • chismosa says:

Wendy Williams was so funny a couple weeks ago when she wanted to know exactly what was going on with “Chateau Sheree” so she had a plea to any viewers in Atlanta to go check on the development of the house and send any pictures into the show. It was cute. And the house IS coming along.

Maybe the cross-eyed ex is going to town making those payments/ back payments.

  9. Kansas Girl says:

The trivial problems of life: took out the trash and there’s a possum in the trash can. I tipped it over so he could escape, but he decided he was “dead”. I could see him breathing. After a minute, he got tired of standing up “dead”, so he sat down to be “dead” some more. I’ll check later. “Dead” will get boring. Sheesh.

    • Nancy says:

You have just made my week. That is sooooo funny! Let us know how it ends up. lol

      • Kansas Girl says:

He crawled in further. I went out in the alley and kicked the trash can (still on its side), and he went from “alive” to “dead” again. They bite and can be vicious, so I don’t want to evict him with a stick, even a long one. In my wisdom, I kicked the can to the point I’d have to walk right by the open end to get back in the yard, so I had to walk through a neighbor’s back yard, around his house, back between our houses just to get back to my back door.

Later someone went by walking their dog. The dog stuck his head all the way in the can, sniffing, but didn’t get bitten. Likely the possum was “dead” again.

So, it proved impossumble to evict the critter for the night. Hopefully he’ll leave on his own tonight. I’d like to get the can upright, as it’s no fun to pick up the trash from the alley after the animals spread it around. Trash day isn’t till Tuesday.

        • BB says:

Maybe it would help to put a bowl of cat food outside of the trash can to lure him out.

        • They are awful creatures. When I lived in DC my cat had just had kittens, and she brought a baby possum into the house. It was sooooo ugly. I don’t know if she was feeling maternal or was planning on feeding it to the kittens. She wasn’t a bright cat. Hubs took it back outside, and sure enough the cat brought it back in. Next time we took it to a local park and never saw it again. I remember thinking, baby animals shouldn’t be this ugly.

          • BB says:

They are very ugly with faces only a mother (or mother cat) could love.

          • Kansas Girl says:

Like a giant rat. The mouth takes up more than half the head. I got a good look at the teeth too. They’re supposed to have very sharp teeth, but I didn’t look THAT close. And they hiss.

It may have been in that can for a while, so perhaps it’s not in good health, shall we say. I’ll check it tomorrow. I’d hope it would run away and live, but that might not be in the cards if it’s been in there too long. Definitely not smart enough to get into possum college, for sure!

    • RealHousewifeVA says:

LMAO! I love it! Take pics!

NMD, I didnt comment yesterday but Bravo (no pun intended) on giving Caroline the Gold Star Award. She has really been getting the message out about Sandy and working very hard. She was tweeting until midnight. My only question is, where was Wacky Jacky when her optimal tweeting skills were needed? She loves twitter so much, I wonder if she even bothered tweeting to help other people? I ask all of these questions because her tweets are protected.

    • RealHousewifeVA says:

Jac was tweeting info as well. I wonder if Lauren is still sick of hearing about this hurricane.

      • chismosa says:

Can someone tweet Caro and ask if “Lauren is still sick of hearing about Sandy?”
        She’s so dumb.

    • Jacqueline has blocked me on twitter – but I can see her tweets if I search for her. I wonder if that’s a loophole with the browser I use because it used to show them as protected and I had to log out of twitter to see them. I don’t think I’d ever give Jaq a gold star for tweeting – that would make me an enabler wouldn’t it?

      • LaineyLainey says:

Never say never? LOL!!! Well, actually you said “ever” – – close enough!

      • Rebecca says:

        Jacqueline Laurita ‏@JacLaurita
My son had not been saying much of anything 4awhile&then 2day out of nowhere,Letters&Lollipop!Amazing!Always on his terms!lol!Still thrilled

Waiting for the blech water cure diagnosis anyday now.

    • Rebecca says:

While I think what Caroline was doing was the right thing to do, IMHO she was told be her publishing company to soften her image. I’m not ready to canonize the woman because she was too overbearing and judgemental for three years for that not to be her real personality.

Jacqueline jumped on the bandwagon and started retweeting Caroline, so people started tweeting her info as well. She does however include the anti-Teresa team in retweeting info, which is tacky. Caroline hasn’t joined in on any of the nonsense.

      • LaineyLainey says:

Maybe her publishing company read the comments on Amazon. hahaha!!! Good that she hasn’t joined in on the nonsense. She might have a few customers now. (not I)

Has anyone been watching the show Doomsday Preppers? I watched it last night. People prepare for nuclear war, economic breakdown, etc. They have food and supplies stored away for weeks, months & years to come. The show is a little nerve wracking.

Although I did laugh at one point when I thought to myself, I don’t even own a rain coat.

    • melthehound says:

Although I did laugh at one point when I thought to myself, I don’t even own a rain coat.
And you are probably much better off than any of them. The world has been going to end just about every one of my 48 years on this rock. Everything from the Apocalypse complete with 4 horsemen, to ice age and now global warming. Then OMG, the Mayan calender ends this December and we’re all going to just disappear…. Why oh why did they stop making that calendar? Maybe the dude making it died.

    • BB says:

I haven’t watched it, but figured that’s what it was all about. Does anyone remember way back in the olden days in school where they had drills about what to do in case those commie Russians bombed us with a nuclear bomb? Like that was going to help. One of my childhood friend’s dad built them a bomb shelter. It was really neat. It had cots and supplies and stuff. I guess it’s probably still there.

  12. BB says:

Is anyone watching RHOA reunion from last season?

  14. chismosa says:

@Nancy: there was an interesting article in the NYTimes today, Sunday about Canada and Americans moving there for various political reasons an other reasons too I think. I can’t seem to call up the link on my phone but it was today, Sunday, in the Styles section.
Just thought you might be interested as you always mention Canada and such….

    • Nancy says:

Thank-you for that. I am a Canadian but I’ve lived in the states since 4th grade.
This Tues will dictate where we will live. I have a feeling we will stay where we are. 🙂

  15. lillybee says:

I am one of the crazy people who plays World of Warcraft. Imagine my surprise when I found this item to buy.

  16. LaineyLainey says:

Watching the Amazing Race and wowwwwww…..I am so disappointed by two of those couples. I feel terrible. My daughter is here and she said,…MOM, DON’T CRY! So I held it in. Her boyfriend is from Turkey and lives and works there. She was there in July with him and she wants to cry because she misses him so much. So we’re both a mess!!!

    • Nancy says:

I’m watching Dr Drew and it’s a sad one as well. Give your daughter a big hug for me.

    • cocfarm says:

The women of those two teams were horrible.

      • LaineyLainey says:

On the plus side, I can’t wait to read MTH’s recap. I hope he tears them a new one!!!!

      • chismosa says:

Which two teams – the main guy/girl that the Sri Lankan girls hate? And the girl on the Texan team?

I just never like the teams anymore. It hasn’t been since like 5 seasons ago that I’ve enjoyed any of the teams THAT much

        • LaineyLainey says:

I don’t want to say – because many folks do not want us to spoil it for them. AFter MTH posts his recap, we’ll talk. 🙂

        • LaineyLainey says:

Oh and I don’t hate them, but I am super disappointed.

          • chismosa says:

i think i got ya Lainey….. women from TWO teams where something went down ….. got it. I THINK. ha!!!
will check back with you on monday. 😉

  17. My one wish for this season is that Kandi has a story line that doesn’t involve sex toys and freak numbers. That’s all. Thank you for listening.

  18. Nancy says:

    Kroy cracks me up.

  19. cusi77 says:

Put your seat belts, Ladies and Gentlemen!

  20. Nancy says:

I think somebody already took the name Kash or Cash, didn’t they?

  22. Eastbayca says:

    $100,000 to move!!!!
Isn’t that a ridiculously high number?

  23. I am really feeling sorry for the dogs. I sure hope they don’t know what Phaedra is talking about. That said, their expressions are priceless.

  24. Eastbayca says:

    Phadera is amusing.

  25. Classy Papa Smurf and Cynthia – fight in front of the ex.

  26. Orson says:

I loved the daughter’s answer, “I never wanted homeschool in the first place!”

  27. Nancy says:

    Kim is such a snob.

    • BB says:

IKR. And where did she get that attitude from? It’s not like she was born with a silver spoon in her mouth.

    • LaineyLainey says:

She gets evicted and has the nerve to talk crap about Kandi’s house and neighborhood.

      • chismosa says:

Kim is so trashy (like nene’s joke about the trailer she came from) — I don’t get how her show got so successful and picked up again. She’s so annoying. I cannot WAIT for her daughters to start acting up when they get older.

  28. $59 an hour. That’s why Kandi is rich and can afford such a great house.

    • Nancy says:

Don’t you think it’s too big for her though?

      • BB says:

they all have houses too big for them. But Kandi can afford it. It’s a status thing. I want to downsize!

      • Amber...Real Wife says:

No. She always runs a studio from her house, has an extended family that can visit and is planning on marrying and extending her immediate family. Between The immediate four that can live in the house, there will be guest rooms, offices, media rooms and even a gift-wrapping room a la CandySpelling! LOL

  29. BB says:

I love Kandi She’s so practical. She’ll never be broke.

  30. Amber...Real Wife says:

Kim is jealous that Kandi has such a huge house and the money to renovate. How dirty of Sweetie to call that area “HOOD”. Really? Million dollar mansions in the hood?

  31. BB says:

OMG Aiden is so cute. He wanted to try all those toys out.

  32. Nancy says:

Didn’t she walk out during CA?

    • Well yes she did -but I suppose she’s free to reinvent history

    • cusi77 says:

Yes! She was a quitter. I like her so much, but not a good move Nene!

      • Nancy says:

She’s a little too much for me.

      • LaineyLainey says:

She knew she was out of her league on that show (CA). I think that’s what had her all riled up against LaToya; she was taking it out on poor LaToya. She COULDN’T handle Star Jones; she is definitely rewriting history. Nene, we are watching you and following everything you do…we know you!!!

        • chismosa says:

I love Nene and to be honest I don’t think she was able to handle Star Jones more than anyone else there. I cannot STAND star jones and her little underhanded ways. I remember watching and sort of understanding her frustrations with star jones
I think nene is now friends with Latoya.

Tbh I think for someone like Teresa to last on that show is because she didn’t really engage that much. Totally below the radar and no effort. Jmo jmo

          • LaineyLainey says:

True about Star Jones…she’s a handful. She’s a Lawyuh and a seasoned TV personality…it is not easy to out talk her. Star is smooth on the TV. Nene keeps it real. Nene got close to handling Star, but she was not on the same level as Star in the gift of glib or the gift of gab…apples and oranges. While can give a great soundbite til the cows come home…Star will say the dictionary by memory to you complete with synonyms, antonyms and cinnamyns. 🙂

  33. Amber...Real Wife says:

Too funny! Calling TylerP and the phone is disconnected! LOL I wonder who he’s hiding from or was his phone/privacy violated?

  34. Nancy says:

    What a nasty “lady”?

  35. Amber...Real Wife says:

Kenya is VERY MESSY! Rude, obnoxious and insulting… PERFECT for a HWVillian and RHOC! Wish she could battle against Trauma and Eyebrows. There’d be brittle extensions and turtlenecks flying everywhere! LOL

  36. I enjoyed that premier. I’ve missed these ladies.

  37. BB says:

Uh Oh. I’m not sure poor Cynthia is going to be much of a match for Kenya.

  38. chismosa says:

i just got power back about 1/2 hour ago… so HAPPY!
i can watch Homeland! that is all that matters! I was able to watch Amazing Race while on the generator but now i have that, and Walking Dead, plus repeat of Atlanta. Yay!

Hope my fellow LI’ers, NY/ NJ folks are all getting it back soon.
I’m so happy we are all dancing here!!!

  39. mrs. peabody says:

Not missing Sheree at all. I like Kandi’s hair dark, looks much better on her. I think I”m going to like this season.

  40. chismosa says:

i still have to watch Atlanta but what is with names of countries and women using them as first names? Malaysia, here on Atl there is Kenya… i hear India a lot. I know i’m missing some more. What???

ok, ending my rant … just wondering!

    • LaineyLainey says:

I kinda like those names! My daughter works with a girl named “Brooklyn” and she worked a runway show in New Orleans last year with a woman named “Ireland” – no, no her name is “Irish” (not as cute) I have a pre-K student named “Holland.” They call her Landy. A friend of mine married a guy named “Dallas” and their first son is “Dallas, Jr.” India is a pretty name, I think. Maybe I like it cause of India Arie – the singer.

      • chismosa says:

i forgot yes, of course– Brooklyn, then there’s Bronx, then of course Ireland- isn’t that Alec Baldwin’s daughter’s name?
I keep forgetting all the other ones. It’s just so odd. I’m very old fashioned when it comes to names. I dont like names that crack the top 500 list either of popularity. I’m weird like that. 😉

I hope Atlanta was fun, i can’t wait to watch Nene

        • LaineyLainey says:

You will love it, Chismosa. right now, I’m watching my recording of The Walking Dead. dang, they just can’t give me an easy episode…I’m like…”Really? You have to hurt me like this?”

          • chismosa says:

ha! why you gotta hurt me like this!??? so funny.

Last week’s was very weird….. i knew to expect that ‘new character’ — if you know what i mean but i’m not sure how it’s all going to pan out. Great show regardless. 10 million viewers i can’t believe it

  41. djprincessc says:

I think I’m the only one on the planet that DOESNT like Kandy. I don’t hate her, but I really don’t care for her. Theres something about her personality…the way she talks annoys me and she looks dirty to me.

    • princesspindy says:

You are not alone, Princess Pindy feels the same way.

      • LaineyLainey says:

Could it be all her sex talk? and the sex toys?

        • djprincessc says:

I’m glad Princess Pindy, I feel like I’m watching a different woman than everyone else and Lainey Idk? Kinda? Not really?? I can’t put my finger on it. But the way she speaks definitely irritates me. lol. And the dirty look. haha! And yes I LOVED Marlo!! 🙂

          • princesspindy says:

Marlo cracked Princess Pindy up. I don’t like Kandi’s singing voice either, BOO YAH!

            • djprincessc says:

Marlo was the best and her with Nene was beyond funny. And OMG YESSSS!!!!! Kandys singing voice in just awful. I mean she’s very talented musically in producing and writing and everything else, but the singing has got to go!!! lol.

      • chismosa says:

Princess & DJ– you’re not alone. I actually found Marlo with Nene last year to be funny. I know Marlo is cra-CRA and totally not cool in so many ways, underhanded, all that jazz, but Atlanta is such a laugh for me that i found her and Nene together to be funny.

Kandi is ok, i like her subdued personality but her singing, mehhhhh. Loving the new hair. HATED the short hair when she had it
The sex toys/ talk/ strippers of last year were too too gross for words

        • djprincessc says:

I’ve also noticed that since Kandy came on the show she’s had 3 or 4 boyfriends I think and obviously was engaged to her last one that passed away, now she has a new one and they’re already moving in together and talking about babies??? Idk I’m all for love, but what about her daughter? She’s had to have seen many men come and go besides her own father and who knows what other boyfriends Kandy has had before being on the show. That kinda bugs me about her too. I don’t like when men or women constantly bring and change different partners into their kids lives, I just don’t think its fair to the kids. IMO.

          • LaineyLainey says:

Well,DJP – her freak number is kinda high and I think her toys don’t always do the trick. Her daughter seems ok to me (but what do I know?) and why should Kandi spend her life being lonely? I think her mom helps a lot with the little girl. If Kim’s girls can get through her Big Poppa stage (Kim being with a married man so publicly) then I think Kandi’s child can deal with her mom having (unmarried) legitimate boyfriends. She seems like an attentive mom to me but then again, what do I really know. This is where Detox would “shrug”.

  42. Guess who just tweeted this:
I can’t believe we have been on @DeltaAssist @Delta flight in Atlanta since 730pm. Such incompetence it’s incredible. They keep saying 30 min!

  43. LaineyLainey says:

The Walking Dead is incredible tonight. They just broke my heart in two places, but that’s ok…nevermind me!!!

  44. It will be an early blog this morning and an Exclusive Interview! Okay – back to blog assembly. Be back soon….
