Boston’s Thoughts on Melissa’s Book Deal
Faye’s Blog –
For some reason Bravo has taken down Faye Resnick’s blog. I guess they had an oopsie. No worries, I’ll post it here so people can tell Faye what they really think. Isn’t that why you do on a reality show? To hear what people think?
Brandi’s Unprovoked Attack Faye plans to defend Adrienne and Kim, and she doesn’t understand why Brandi won’t apologize if she’s so sorry.
After 2 years of working on the design of Kyle and Mauricio’s home, I was very happy they were thrilled with the result and had the home they always dreamed of. I knew Kyle was looking forward to having everyone over for the dinner party since the dining room now complete.
However, a few days before the dinner party, Kyle told me what had transpired with regard to Brandi’s unprovoked attack of Adrienne and Paul at Mauricio’s event. I was shocked and saddened by what I heard.
I’ve known Adrienne and the Maloof family for 25 years. I have always known Adrienne to be a woman of great integrity and with one of the kindest hearts in Beverly Hills. I felt deeply for Adrienne because I knew she would never say anything like that to anyone else or wish it upon anyone else. I called to check on Adrienne and heard the hurt in her voice as she cried on the phone. It broke my heart. Worse though, I knew this did not just affect her and Paul, but would also affect their children.
I knew Brandi was going to be at Kyle’s party, unfortunately, because of what Brandi had said, Adrienne would not be present. I thought it was important for Brandi to understand the severity of what she had said and offer her a solution on how to try to make amends.I don’t know Brandi, but I expected that like any other normal human being, she would recognize that she had stepped over the line and would want to apologize at the very least. . .
Boy was I wrong. By raising the issue at the dinner party I was hoping Brandi would shed some light as to what would drive her to reveal something so intensely personal and private. Brandi’s response was confusing. She first said she was sorry for what she said but didn’t want to apologize — yet.
I didn’t understand? If you are sorry for something you have done and carrying it on your mind, and it’s upsetting you, why not just apologize and move on? If your truly sorry, you apologize and cleanse your aura. But minutes after saying she was sorry she said she wasn’t going to apologize because Adrienne hadn’t apologized to her. Apologize for what?
She then went on to further to attack Adrienne, and when she said that Adrienne had bought a book deal, that thew me over the edge. “Who buys a book deal?” Instead of apologizing to Adrienne she continued to attack her. And as far as her telling everyone at the table that “it’s none of your business”, she should have followed her own advice. What business was it of Brandi to involve herself in the most private and personal business of Adrienne and Paul’s?
It’s very difficult for me to sit back and watch anyone be mean to people that I love. The damage Brandi caused Kim and her family last season was reprehensible. The attacks on Adrienne and Paul was beyond belief. These statements are made with no purpose other than to be hurtful and cruel. And while afterwards she claims to be “sorry” for what she said, the harm has already been done, so saying, “Things just come out my mouth” or “I’m sorry” time and time again this behavior becomes disingenuous.
Ps: I know an orchid is a flower. . .LOL
Here’s an old article on Faye – from New York Magazine in 1995. Faye is one standup lady.
Real Housewives of Miami Finale Season Two by NoMoreDrama
We’re still in the Bahamas with everyone but Karent who has managed to get a flight home. It’s stormy, so they are stuck on the island. Marysol has an idea to cleanse and heal the group by doing a ritual with everyone going down to the ocean, saying something healing, taking a flower and throwing it into the ocean. Ana thinks it’s a silly idea, and Lea is cracking jokes, but once they get down to the ocean they start to get into it. For someone who thought it was a dumb idea, Ana really breaks down as she releases the tension over her impending divorce. Joanna even managed to squeeze a tear out over her pretend relationship troubles with Romain. They are all pretty reflective, well except for Lea who hasn’t really shared a personal storyline with viewers this year, so had nothing but general well-wishes for peace and happiness ever after. At least she stopped cracking jokes. I have to say that this group really gets along well when Karent isn’t there.
Back to Miami and we open with a little girl playing piano at a recital. In rushes Adriana and her son, obviously late and whispering apologies. They sit down and play a duet while Adriana voices over how important family is. The music carries over to a scene with Joanna and Romain smooching, and Romain gets down on his knees and apologizes to Joanna in what is set up as a proposal, but since they’ve been engaged for ages, he calls it a re-proposal and gives her a necklace. She forgives him, and he says thank you for forgiving me. She says – get this “well this (the necklace) is gorgeous so of course I’ll forgive you.” Seriously – how superficial. Romain says they should get married next spring.
More piano music and Fredrik and Adriana tell her son that they are going to get married and he says they need his permission. I thought they were engaged so I’m confused. Adriana says they’ll have the marriage next spring (double wedding?) and then move into that boat that we saw at the beginning of the season.
Now on to the divorce scenes. Robert comes over to Ana’s house and they look over the paperwork. They joke a little, but she’s still upset. They are clearly really comfortable with each other, and bicker a little. Ana finally picks up a pen and signs the paper after two years of being separated. It’s pretty clear they are moving on to the next phase of their relationship. After signing they tell their girls, and Robert is joking still. One daughter tells him not to belittle the moment, and the other daughter keeps telling Ana to stop crying.
Juxtapose that with Marysol and Phillippe, who are very awkward with each other. He needs to stop and take a shot to get through the scene. It’s actually pretty painful to watch because you can tell he’s not at all into her. Plus he looks really bad – like bloated, puffy and red-eyed bad and I don’t think he’s been crying. They agree to divorce. He says maybe they’ll get married again when he grows up. He doesn’t mention the green card. He takes another shot and then they smoke a cigarette.
Another day and Marysol and Mama Elsa are dressed like twins in leopard print jackets. We learn that Marysol isn’t wearing a bra. Why wouldn’t she be wearing a bra? Marysol explains that she’s filed for divorce, but that she wants to ask Philippe to her office party. “How are we going to trap him?” Mama Elsa asks. Marysol explains she doesn’t want to trap him, just invite him to a party. She traps him into coming to the party by asking him on camera. Why would she want him at the party? I really don’t get Marysol.
Lisa’s closure is Daysy’s surgery day. Lisa is going to watch – I guess so that the cameras are there. Lisa explains that Daysy begged and pleaded with Lenny to let Lisa be there – which is funny because hasn’t she had all kinds of surgery before? Of course the camera crew is in there as well – so what’s the big deal about Lisa being in there. Yuck we watch him suck some fat out and it’s not pretty. Then they do the surgery, and Lisa doesn’t really want to watch. I don’t want to watch either so we’re good. Then is the shot of Daysy drugged up and acting silly. At least she’s not passing gas.
Lea. Since she didn’t have a story line her scene is with Lisa and Joanna. Joanna tells about the fake proposal. Then it’s Lisa’s turn. Lea talks to Lisa about her comment that she lost a little bit of her identity when she married Lenny. Lea decides Lisa needs to identify her “special gift”. Are those key words for job? Lisa says she knows a lot about fitness. Lea also tells how amazing she is (and by she I mean Lea) – she didn’t just marry well. Now they gossip about Karent and her fake boyfriend. Both Lisa and Joanna know that it’s a fake relationship now, and Lisa says that Rodolfo just isn’t into Karent.
Great – now we get Karent’s scene. She’s with her dad and he’s still recovering. It’s clear her parents really depend on her. Karent’s mom explains that Rodolfo called her (the mom) three times saying “please tell her it’s just for publicity.” Wait – so he’s saying he’s willing to have a fake girlfriend for publicity? Karent says she’s ignoring his calls and focusing on her dad. They get emotional and her mom says “you’re the best daughter I have.” Ouch. I hope her sisters weren’t watching.
Later Karent has Rodolfo on skype but I really couldn’t care less what he’s saying since they are already broken up and I’m pretty sure the whole scene is fake.
Lisa and Lenny talk about their new house because their current house isn’t good enough for them. They talk about trying again for a baby. Lisa has said (on twitter) that she has a big announcement in her blog for us. Fingers crossed.
Finally Marysol’s party. Lisa, Marta and Joanna are talking to Karent trying to get her to admit that the relationship is fake. Thankfully they get distracted when Philippe arrives. Ana is there with her daughters and they are talking about moving away for the summer to go to New York. Lea shows up and does a grand entrance thing. Marysol and Lea both interview that they aren’t really friends any more, but they’ll get along socially. Joanna announces she’ll be getting married in the spring and Marta tries to pretend she likes the idea. Okay – I just remembered that Joanna has been saying on twitter that they are getting married in 2015. Adriana and Joanna talk about how awful a double wedding would be. I think it would make a great spin off with them trying to out-do each other.
And finally the huge feet in high heels. Stop the train – Elaine is performing at Marysol’s party so I guess they made up. How strange – did she get paid? So what’s next for them?
- Lea is writing a tell-all book
- Marysol isn’t ready to get married again, but Elsa thinks she will remarry
- Adriana has plans for a spring wedding
- Ana is learning to cope with being a divorcee
- Karent broke up with Rodolfo
- Joanna and Romain have taken a break?? I think they are back together so that’s a little off.
- Nothing for Alexia. She sure had a lot of camera time for someone who said they didn’t film much. Next week the reunion. I’ll be in Canada without Bravo, so maybe everyone can recap it together in the chat blog. It’ll be a live recap, just like the live reunion last year.
Project Runway All Stars “Flapper Fashion Face-Off” by BB
Recap of Challenge Winners and Losers:
- Challenge 1: Anthony Ryan wins, Peach goes home Challenge 2: Uli wins, Wendy goes home
- Challenge 3: Emilio wins, Suede goes home
- Challenge 4: Anthony Ryan wins, Andrae goes home Challenge 5: Emilio Wins, Kayne goes home
- Challenge 6: Laura Kathleen wins, Althea goes home
- Challenge 7: Uli wins, Casanova goes home
Guest judges are actress Gretchen Mol and designer Jenny Packham. The remaining 6 designers are Emilio, Anthony Ryan, Uli, Laura Kathleen, Josh, and Ivy.
Emilio thinks this elimination challenge will be the game-changer for the remaining six. Carolyn tells the designers they will be creating a modern look inspired by the 1920’s. The designers pick an “event” from the pouch. Uli and Laura Kathleen pick an Evening Social Soiree; Ivy and Anthony Ryan pick an After Hours Speak Easy; and Emilio and Josh pick an Afternoon Garden Party. This will be a fashion face-off. There will be a winner and loser from each pair and the overall winner will be chosen from the top three and overall loser chosen from the bottom three. They each get $250 to shop at mood.
Emilio is leaning towards the latter 20’s and doesn’t want to make the boxy style dress of the early 20’s. Laura Kathleen takes a dig at Uli by saying she won’t be using feathers for her look. Ivy is getting an incredibly expensive fabric for her design so if it doesn’t work out, she’s in trouble. Ivy seems paranoid that Anthony Ryan is working too close to her, but Anthony Ryan says he would never make anything close to what Ivy would make. Laura Kathleen doesn’t think you can go to an evening soiree without a fur.
Anthony Ryan thinks Laura Kathleen and Uli make for a good competition against each other.
Joshua says he’s never been to a garden party, only roof-top and fire escape parties. Uli thinks Ivy is cutting her expensive fabric into too many pieces and may have trouble putting it all back together. Even though it’s a face-off, each designer seems competitive, but at the same time has respect for the designer they are competing against.
Joanna is concerned Josh’s design may be too marsupial. She mentions to Josh that neither he nor Ivy have won a challenge and were both in the bottom last week. Joanna thinks Emilio’s print could be on his grandma’s sofa.
Joanna loves Laura Kathleen’s pants and thinks her model will look fashion forward for the 20’s. Uli’s design looks similar to something she’s done before and Joanna is a little worried. However, Uli is afraid the judges will not like it if she doesn’t make an all-out 20’s look even if it’s similar to some of her other designs.
Joanna thinks Anthony Ryan’s looks extraordinary and thinks Ivy’s fabric looks Roxy Hart from Chicago. She asks Anthony Ryan what he would give Ivy’s look. He says a strong 7/8. Ivy only gives Anthony Ryan’s look a 5. This shows her insecurity I think.
The models show up and Uli realizes she needs to line her see through dress. Uli likes Laura Kathleen’s design. Josh wants to use a broach on his dress, but Anthony Ryan tells him it looks Scottish where he places it. Ivy’s design is all in pieces. Emilio still has a lot of work left after the models leave. So does everyone else it seems.
On runway day, the designers only have two hours to finish. Laura Kathleen thinks Uli designs more like a stylist than a designer. Ivy loves her finished look. Anthony Ryan thinks Ivy’s model looks like she’s going to Bingo night and just got dressed up. Ivy thinks Anthony Ryan’s looks like curtains for the 1920s and not a dress for the 1920s. Emilio doesn’t think he has to worry this time and Josh thinks Emilio has made a costume again.
OK, here we go down the runway. Josh has a draped pinkish/purplish and grey short dress. I kind of like it. Emilio’s dress is very feminine but not really a 20’s look to me. Uli’s dress is silver and has a fringed skirt. It has a lot going on. Laura’s maroon colored beaded pant suit is really pretty, but I’m not liking that fur vest. And later when her model is standing beside her, the pants don’t fit well. I’m not sure what I think about Ivy’s dress. Anthony Ryan’s dress is full fringe with a feather shoulder caplet feature.
Joshua and Emilio are first. The judges love Josh’s dress, but think it may be safe. Isaac likes the back of it and thinks it looks expensive and commercial. Carolyn loves the detailing in the back of Emilio’s dress. Gretchen thinks it looks ladylike. Jenny thinks Emilio’s dress may be a little more dated than she likes. The judges think they both have two of the better looks of all the designs.
Isaac loves Uli’s dress but criticizes the white fringe. Gretchen likes the thickness of the shoulder of the dress. Georgina doesn’t like the shawl, but Jenny does like it. Isaac thinks the top of Laura Kathleen’s design looks brilliant without the fur vest. Carolyn things the top is beautiful but not the pants. Georgina thinks the model looks too big in the hips and the crotch is doing a shadowy thing.
Carolyn thinks Ivy’s dress may be too literal and a little Prada. Isaac thinks it looks too heavy. Gretchen says the dress has grown on her and it looks like you would wear it to an art opening. Jenny loves Anthony Ryan’s dress and Gretchen thinks it looks young and fun. Isaac doesn’t like the feather caplet, but then changes his mind when the model takes it off and puts it back on. Georgina tells him good job.
Emilio wins the afternoon garden party, Uli wins the evening soiree, and Anthony Ryan wins the after-hours speak easy. All of the designers leave the runway so the judges can discuss and make their decision.
Of the winners, Emilio is eliminated right away. Uli’s dress is more complex to the judges. They think Anthony’s is more modern, exciting and fresher. So it will be either Uli or Anthony Ryan for the win. All three have won two design challenges each.
Of the low scorers, they don’t think Josh did that bad of a job. It will be between Ivy and Laura Kathleen. Laura Kathleen’s pants were a real miss. Georgia likes the essence of Laura’s outfit. Isaac loves the top without the fur vest. Carolyn thinks they keep seeing the same thing from Laura Kathleen. The judges think Ivy treated that expensive fabric badly and it was poorly made. Carolyn sees Ivy’s intention and it makes her dress more interesting than Laura Kathleen’s.
All of the designers come back out on stage and nobody is waiting backstage. Emilio is safe and is out of the running for the winner of the challenge. Anthony Ryan wins the challenge. Uli is safe. When the three of them get to the back room, they mention that Ivy’s in the bottom for the third time in a row. Joshua is safe and can join the others. That leaves Ivy and Laura Kathleen. Carolyn thinks Ivy needs to get back on track if she stays. She tells Laura Kathleen if she stays, she’ll have to show some versatility. Laura Kathleen is out. Ivy is safe. I’m a little surprised Ivy didn’t go this time. I think the others are a little surprised also, but nobody really says anything.
