Was Mauricio Umansky Mean to Brandi and Other News by NoMoreDrama

Last Monday on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Mauricio Umansky, husband of Kyle Richards, got into it with both Ken Todd (husband of Lisa Vanderpump) and Brandi Glanville.  You can read BB’s recap of the episode here.  Maurico was pretty diplomatic in past seasons, even when his wife Kyle got into a massive fight with his very rich client Camille Grammer, costing him potential commissions.  He’s never been a fan of Brandi’s.  He said on WWHL that she was his least favorite housewife, and he’s said on camera that he doesn’t think much of her – so it wasn’t that surprising that he showed his clear irritation with her at the Moroccan dinner party.  When discussing Brandi spilling Adrienne’s secret, he kept saying in a loud voice, “Why did she say it?”  “Was she saying it to be nice?” – knowing full well that Brandi had already said she was sorry for spilling Adrienne’s secret, and knowing full well that she wasn’t trying to be nice.  She said what she said to get back at Adrienne about something and she was already paying for it in lawyer bills.

Since the episode aired he’s been in damage control.  For Mauricio, his reputation is his business.  He took to twitter to clear the air, and ended up apologizing to Brandi.  Brandi is letting him off the hook, telling fans that all is good now, but that she did feel that Maurico was mean to her.  What do you think?

Rumors have been swirling since Gia Giudice‘s birthday party that something happened to make Melissa Gorga unhappy.  Melissa brought her children and Gia’s cousins to the party without her usual backup.  Joey Gorga was at home recovering from the flu, and there was no sign of the Wakiles, Lauritas or Manzos.  Teresa did have a few friends with her at the party, Jennifer Dalton and Kim DePaula, as well as party planner Elvira.  Well, according to InTouch, Kim D got drunk and went after Melissa over petty stuff.  Kim D and Melissa have been in a feud for years, and Melissa actively promotes a boutique with a similar name as Kim D’s.  I guess Kim D knows Bravo loves the drama and knows she’ll get more air time if she brings it.  Perhaps it is karma, but Kim came down with the flu right after the party.  PS Bravo – viewers don’t want to see drunk Kim D bringing up old news with Melissa Gorga.  Don’t give us tired old drama.

Peter Thomas from Real Housewives of Atlanta cracks me up.  He seems real, and by that I mean he still seems to have genuine reactions, good or bad.  For instance after the scene in Anguilla where he renewed his vows with Cynthia, Andy Cohen tweeted something to him, and he tweeted back  – in what seemed like giddy excitement – that he wasn’t even sure boss Andy knew his name.  That stuff just cracks me up and makes me glad I haven’t let the over acting, story line maker uppers like Kenya Moore and Adriane de Moura ruin the housewives shows for me.  Anyway, Peter is on the west coast, and he stopped by SUR Restaurant last night.  Shit was goin’ down, and Peter let out this string of tweets:

@LisaVanderpump I’m at #sur right now and it’s ghetto. Two sheriffs just walked in to arrest a white woman.”

@LisaVanderpump what’s really going on in your spot tonight? This is Peter from #rhoa”  (See what I mean, he has to tell her who he is – Totally cracks me up)

“This is definitely happening rt now & I’m loving every min of it. Just shows u can be in any neighborhood & this stuff happens. Not bashing.”

Viewers of the Real Housewives of Atlanta may remember that Peter’s Bar One was said to be in “ghetto” part of Atlanta on the show – I can’t remember who said that – I think it was Sheree and Lawrence.

“Class has nothing to do with money by the way. You can’t buy it.”

Yes we know Peter, Luann has a song that has let us all know that Money can’t buy you class.

“The point that I’m tryin to make IDIOTS is that shit happens no matter where you are. Could b in Beverly Hills or Flatbush. Shit will happen”

I sense that people were coming down on Peter on twitter.

“Came here 2 support cause its a beautiful establishment, classy & all that. That last thing I wanna c is a fight in Beverly Hills. Final.”

And what did Lisa Vanderpump have to say about the negative publicity Peter was giving her restaurant (and quite frankly her new show is more than enough negative press – what was she thinking??)

“I am on it @PeterThomasRHOA …chill.”

Hopefully things turned around for Peter.  Last night he went to see his daughter, Porsche Thomas at the Comedy club.  Both NeNe Leakes and Cynthia Bailey were with him.  I don’t think they are still filming for the show so it’s nice to see them hanging out together.  However I think he was still getting grief on twitter.  He tweeted this: “I need you guys to know that I am never asking for anyone to like me,you don’t like what I say, don’t follow me.”

Project Runway All Stars Finale “Go Big or Go Home” by BB

It’s down to three designers: Anthony Ryan, Emilio, and Uli. If the person who has won the most challenges has the advantage, then Anthony Ryan should win hands down. But you never know when someone will totally flop and someone else will hit a home run and change the whole game.

The designers are freaked out when they find out they have to design a mini-collection in just four days. I don’t know why they’re so surprised because they’ve been designing under extreme time constraints this whole season. They can create whatever kind of show they want; the theme; the music; even the number of pieces they want to feature. The budget is $3,000. They go back to the hotel to think about their collections before they have to start. Uli is going have the theme of Winter Wonderland and she’s going to stick with, wait for it, white and ivory. Emilio’s theme will be urban plantation about women in the work force. Anthony Ryan’s theme is the thin line. At mood, Emilio wants to use American classic fabrics and he wants to be controversial.

In the workroom, Carolyn shows up and tells them she’s brought some helping hands. In walk all of the eliminated designers and Anthony Ryan, Uli and Emilio can choose one person to assist them. The last challenge winner, Anthony Ryan, gets to pick first. He asks Joshua if he wants to help him. Joshua tells Anthony Ryan how much he would love to, but he has no energy left and declines. Emilio thinks Josh is probably still a little too hurt, having just been eliminated. Anthony Ryan then picks Kayne, who is well rested and ready for battle. Uli picks Casanova. Emilio chooses Althea because she made it to the finale of her own season and knows what it’s like to be there.

Casanova does things by the book and Uli isn’t that structured when she works. Emilio and Althea talk about his vision and how his mom worked in factories. Their goal is to keep going until they can’t go on anymore. He’s worried about how fast Uli and Anthony Ryan are moving. They seem way ahead of him already.

On day two, the designers all get to work, except maybe Casanova who needs to take periodic naps. Casanova says he was on vacation and not expecting to be back in the design room again. Joanna comes in and Uli explains her Winter Wonderland collection. Joanna loves the collection because it’s very coherent, but she needs a wow factor. Joanna asks Anthony Ryan about his yellow and black skirt and Anthony Ryan was afraid at first it would look like a bumble bee but he likes it. Emilio thinaProll of Anthony Ryan’s dresses look the same. Emilio explains to Joanna that his line goes from Aunt Jemima to Rosie the Riveter. Joanna says that’s a first for Project Runway. He doesn’t even have anything to fit on a manikin yet.

That night Uli tells Casanova she will really need him the next day and he says he’s all hers. Emilio thinks he and Althea have a very collaborative relationship. Anthony Ryan is happy Kayne is well rested and works quickly. At a point later that day, the assistants have to leave and the designers are on their own.

Emilio would like to win to honor everything his mother and father have done for him. Uli is just happy to be able to express herself after growing up behind the Berlin wall, but still says she has room in her suitcase for the money if she wins the whole thing. When she packs her designs in the box, it looks like lots of fur and feathers in there. If Anthony Ryan doesn’t win it all, he doesn’t know what he’ll do because he doesn’t have the financial resources to continue designing. Time is up and the next day they will have three hours to get everything together for their runway show which will take place in Gotham Hall.

It’s Runway day and there is still a lot for the three designers to do before they are ready. I see all of Emilio’s models have what he calls a “do-rag tie” in their hair. It’s a big red bow. OMG, Carolyn’s gown is beautiful while she’s standing there introducing the judges. The guest judges are Liv Tyler and Margherita Missoni. It’s showtime.

Emilio is first with his Urban Plantation collection. He has lots of different looks in his collection, dresses, pants, shorts, jackets in a variety of bright colors. I like his looks, but don’t know if it’s that cohesive or sophisticated enough. It definitely makes a statement.

Anthony Ryan is up with his The Thin Line collection. His designs are severe and very streamlined. Very Anthony Ryan looking. I kind of agree with Emilio that his dresses all look similar and they are all short, fitted dresses except the last one, which is long, but still in the same vein as the others. If you like his aesthetic, you’ll love his collection.

Here comes Uli with her whites and creams. She has lots of stoles, scarves, feathers, and fur going on. It’s a very cold looking collection, but in a good way. It’s not my cup of tea, but I like that she went all out with her collection. It looked like something you would see in a “real” runway show to me.

Afterward, people in the audience commented on their favorite lines. Mondo thought Emilio’s made the most sense. At the beginning, I was thinking Anthony Ryan had this in the bag. Now, I’m not so sure.

It’s critique time and first up is Emilio, while Anthony Ryan and Uli leave the stage. Georgina thought he did a fantastic job and he really showed her something with this line. Carolyn loves that he has both commercial and editorial looks. Liv loved his use of color. Margherita doesn’t think he had that much experimentation and Isaac thinks some of the line went a little bit junior.

Anthony Ryan is up. Georgina thinks his first dress was spectacular and Isaac think it’s the best dress he’s seen on Project Runway. He’s jealous of Anthony Ryan. Georgina didn’t like his finale look.

Isaac can’t believe how great Uli’s collection is. Georgina is stunned by what she’s achieved in four days. Carolyn loved the neckline of her first look. Margherita loved the fairy tale quality and the hair and makeup was the most interesting. Liv is blown away by the detail and one of the dresses is an Oscar dress. Georgina says she relied a little too much on faux fur and it made it look a little cheap.

Georgina thought Emilio was so in control but Margherita didn’t think it was exciting enough and it had too many junior elements. Carolyn likes the passion of his look and his political statement. He showed the judges who he was.

Isaac thought Anthony Ryan was the most “fashion” of the three. It was one conscious thought. They were disappointed in his finale dress. Isaac was not happy with the various lengths of his dresses. They like his artistic interpretation.

They think Uli’s was the most emotional and psychological. It had a dreamy quality to it. Isaac says he has seen her look before, but Georgina thinks Uli can take anything and make something out of it.

The judges have decided. I will be happy no matter who wins. I thought they all did a great job on their final collections and it’s just a matter of the judges’ personal tastes at this point.

And the winner is . . . Anthony Ryan! Emilio is the first runner-up and Uli is the second runner-up. I’m thrilled for Anthony Ryan. I think he needs the money the most and I thought he was consistently good from week to week, as Georgina said.

I enjoyed season two of Project Runway All Stars. There was no silly drama and it was all about the designs.

Dance Moms By: adelaidesmommy

But I’m a National Champion!

On our way home - again! Tweet by Abby Lee Miller with Maddie and Gianni (from Abby :Lee Miller Twitter)

On our way home – again! Tweet by Abby Lee Miller with Maddie and Gianni (from Abby :Lee Miller Twitter)

Welcome back to Abby Lee Dance Company (ALDC)! We start with the new ALDC team headed into the studio for practice. Meanwhile, our dance moms congregate in the parking lot – including Kelly who comments that even though Abby Lee Miller (ALM) will never change, Brook and Paige (B&P) miss dancing and ALM. Christi says they will have to beg for their spots back since ALM replaced them.

Inside ALM calls Shelley because Ally has not shown up. We find out that they flew all the way back to New Orleans. Shelley says it was because of the “harsh conversation” that took place when the team won 2nd place (some of the mom’s blamed Ally) – and Ally cried the whole way home. ALM is outraged as Ally was magnificent. I’m giving big props to Shelley for being a good mom and taking her daughter out of a negative environment. I knew there was something I liked about her.

ALM walks into the dressing room and asks the girls to leave while she talks to the moms. She informs them of our conversation with Shelley and proceeds to kick Glo and Marcia out of ALDC (Sophia & Jackie get to stay). Of course, Glo and Marcia’s little girls are in tears and begging their moms to apologize. I’m really sad for them, but so happy we are getting back to the original team and the list of names to remember is smaller.

Back in the parking lot, the moms decide to confront ALM (minus Kelly who is holding back for a bit). ALM sees them in the parking lot and pretends to be shocked. Cut to a TH where she says that she might have some openings. This confirms it was all scripted. The real ALM would have never let them back so easily. She pops her head out and asks the moms to either come in or leave, but don’t loiter. They decide to go inside.

But wait – there is a catch. Before they can come back to ALDC, they have to sign a new contract. ALM says they won’t get past the front desk without signing. There is some mild concern over the fact that Kelly doesn’t have a contract, but in the end – they all sign it. My favorite part of this scene is when Holly and Christi express disappointment that Melissa and Jill caved so quickly – and then they did the same thing approximately 2 seconds later.

Christi asks ALM if she will talk with Kelly about returning and ALM agrees saying she is open to listening. Christi reports the news to Kelly who enters the studio. ALM doesn’t know why she wants to come back – Kelly says she doesn’t, but B&P do. They exchange their list of grievances, but finally settle on Kelly signing the contract. And the world is right again.

In the studio, Jill hits us again with the quote of the week, “We show up to class… in walks Jaclyn, straight off of the streets of L.A. Skinny, skinny, skinny, gorgeous. But it’s obvious she does not fit in with our team of dance moms.” Does Jill not understand what “straight off of the streets” implies? I know she was giving a compliment to Jackie, but seriously – if someone told me I looked like I was straight off the streets from any city, I wouldn’t have a kind retort. Someone needs to introduce Jill to Urban Dictionary. But I love Jill as she always gives me the best quotes…

ALM doesn’t do a pyramid as all the girls except Sophia are on probation. So, Sophia’s picture is on top and the other girls are in a row below her. In her TH, Kelly comments that Mads has been replaced by Sophia. ALM proceeds to compliment Sophia for being a team player and Jackie for being a kind dance mom. In TH, Kelly said there are rumors that contradict Jackie’s perfect mom routine.

They girls are headed to Ohio with a group routine called, “Red Carpet Special.” Sophia will do a solo called, “Superstar.” In her TH, Christi says it’s not fair that Sophia gets a solo this week because the girls work really hard every week for one. I’m thinking this is out of context as they just rejoined the team and Sophia did work really hard last week. Plus, Chloe does get a solo (see below). It doesn’t make sense.

ALM asks Sophia how many turns she can do. She responds with 54. What? I think I can do 2 or 3. ALM doesn’t want to offer anyone else a solo, but she committed to the competition and has to pick another soloist. I’m guessing the competition requires you to enter 2 solos. She decides to pick Chloe – her national champion – to see how much she’s regressed. Ugh. First of all, I’d like to see Mads against Sophia as I think that would be more fun to watch and secondly, I feel that ALM is doing this just to be mean. She knows Chloe isn’t on that level. Why does she dislike Chloe so much?

Chloe’s contemporary solo is called, “Another Girl.” Super subtle, ALM. Christi feels the solo is more of a punishment than a reward. ALM tells the moms that they have assignments too and need to work hard to make it up to her. Christi chimes in that they are paying her to teach their kids dance and they have other kids and responsibilities. She says ALM is not the boss of them. ALM doesn’t really respond. Good to see my girl Christi back with a sound judgment call.

During group rehearsal, ALM reminds the girls that they need to be grateful that Sophia is a part of the group. In her TH, Chloe talks about how Sophia motivates her to work harder. How does ALM not love this kid? In the peanut gallery, the moms discuss Sophia’s ability to turn. Kelly says it’s a reflection of the teacher that Sophia had. In her TH, she says Melissa and Christi aren’t so welcoming of Jackie because Sophia is major competition to their daughters. She says that need to get used to their kids not being the best. Okay – I agree with Kelly, but didn’t these women just go on a pretend strike for her? Where is the loyalty?

In TH, Christi thinks Jackie is acting perfect when they know better. Back in the peanut gallery, Christi attacks Jackie about some comments she wrote about another dance girl, Mia. I think this is the same girl who was on Dance Moms Miami. Jill says she heard it too. Jackie denies it.

Next is Chloe’s rehearsal, but ALM leaves early to have an acro-private with Sophia. Christi is mad and vents to Kelly in the peanut gallery. They both comment that Melissa is probably happy Mads doesn’t have a solo. In TH, Kelly comments that Melissa will do whatever it takes to have her kids be ALM’s favorites. Cut to a pretty funny scene of Melissa taking out the garbage. In TH, Melissa says that M&M were always ALM’s favorites and she’ll do what it takes to make sure ALM isn’t mad anymore. I’ll give her credit for admitting it.

Back in peanut gallery, Christi comes up with some crazy ideas to initiate Jackie like putting E-6000 in her eyelashes or slipping a roofie into her drink. Kelly laughs it off and calls Christi mean and evil. Christi is joking.

The next day, the moms are chatting about ALM in the peanut gallery – mostly about her need to biblically lay with someone or how she is pretty, but her attitude stinks. ALM asks Gianna to run up and ask Jackie to pay attention. ALM doesn’t want the moms scaring Jackie off.

Next, there is some discussion on how often Sophia stretches (2 hours per day) and goes to school – 2 hours a week. Holly is outraged. I am too. Enough said about that. During Chloe’s rehearsal, ALM is changing the choreography (apparently the same day as the competition). Christi is upset and feels that Chloe looks defeated. In TH, Chloe confirms it. Christi gives her a pep talk about how she doesn’t deserve to be treated that way.

At group rehearsal, ALM decides that she needs to cut someone out of the group dance. She asks the moms to join them in the studio and judge who needs to be cut. Of course, none of the moms participate and say they will only vote for their kids. ALM decides to cute B – and I’m sure no one on this blog is shocked. In TH, Kelly says that Mac is smaller and not at the same level and should have been cut.

Hello Ohio! The girls are greeted by lots of fans. Why aren’t the Apples at this competition? ALM rehearses Sophia’s solo, but Chloe has to rehearse on her own. In TH, Melissa says it’s strange because ALM isn’t paying attention to any of their children. Come on! Who paid her to say this? It’s too ironic to have come from Melissa’s mouth without prompting.

Sophia’s jazz solo is first. She does a million turns and is incredibly flexible. Chloe dances right after Sophia and Christi is upset about the placement because it pits the girls against each other and doesn’t build the team. Chloe’s contemporary solo is very pretty and shows a more emotional side. Side note – why do all of ALM’s solos end on the floor? #changeitup.

Back in the dressing room, Chloe thinks she let her mom down. Christi says no way and gives her a big hug. ALM joins them and falls all over Sophia. She doesn’t say anything to Chloe. My heart breaks. Christi has had it and plans to address with ALM later.

Finally – the group dance. ALM is not confident they will do well. Kelly is really upset B isn’t there and says she will do whatever she needs to do to get B back on the team. They hit the stage. Poor little Mac has trouble with rolling the red carpet. It was actually super cute – she just kept trying. I would have given extra points for that. But what do I know? After Mac finally gets the carpet in place, the dance goes well. My eyes go to Sophia the whole time with a few peeps at Paigers – just telling the truth, not sure what it means. In TH, Jill doesn’t like the number and doesn’t think they will place.

Awards are here. Chloe gets 3rd and Sophia takes 1st in Elite Junior Soloist. ALM had no doubt Sophia would win. But wait – the judges give a special award to a humble, heart-warming dancer – and it’s Chloe! And here comes my favorite quote from any Dance Mom episode….. In TH, Christi says, “My job, as a mom, is to raise someone that I not only love, but I like…” Awwww! I wrote this down to remind myself as my little one gets older.

The group takes 1st place for Elite Junior Group. Kelly is happy as it proves this team wins first place again and again – and the team last week didn’t. The girls join the moms in the dressing room. Chloe comments that she is glad she got 3rd so ALM doesn’t say 2nd is the first to lose. My heart is breaking again. Chloe is killing me tonight. In TH, Christi thinks it’s sad that they only strive for 1st place.

ALM joins them in the dressing room and says the group dance wasn’t good. She gives Sophia props for her high score, but calls Chloe a hot mess. In TH, Christi rightly points out that Chloe is a reflection of ALM since she’s been her student since she was 2. Sophia is a reflection of another studio.

Back in the dressing room, ALM says that Christi isn’t stretching Chloe enough. Christi says that’s what I pay you for. ALM says she needs to work on it outside of class. Christi is amazed that ALM has never told her this. She says that Chloe is her student and she plagiarizes with Sophia by slapping ALDC on her back. ALM responds that Chloe is lazy and was awful today. In TH, Christi is defeated because the comments were so hurtful. Christi is crying in the dressing room now and says, “What are we doing to our kids?” OMG – they finally said what we are all thinking.

Next week, Sophia goes MIA, Kendall and Mads get a duet, and wait for it…… Jill goes crazy. But before I go……. NIA, NIA, NIA, NIA, and NIA. Honestly, I haven’t gotten to write her name this season, and I miss the cutie pie. See y’all next week!

  1. Powell says:

Good morning everyone. Finally got a good night sleep. Ahhh!! And feeling better. It’s TGIF. I hope you have a great day.

  2. Sus says:

I haven’t liked Maurice since his birthday vacation and he was a jerk to Kim. Yeah Kim missed the flight and all that but how could that have been a surprise. Kim has been screwed up for years. Long before this show. Confronting her on TV was mean. Maurice acted like Kim missed the flight to Queen Elizabeth’s birthday party.

I get a very pompous air from Maurice. Then knowing he married VileKyle, I can’t stand him.

    • PJ says:

I did understand their frustration with Kim on that trip, but still if you know someone has a problem confronting them like Mo & Kyle did in front of everyone is not going to help and I didn’t think it was very nice.

Mo is married to Kyle and I haven’t liked her since season one so why am I surprised now that I see Mo in a different light, they are birds of a feather?

    • L.A. Chica says:

PJ, I’m beginning to think our brains were separated at birth — I feel exactly the same way. 😉

Sus, you’re spot on about Mauricio’s pomposity. He hid it well in prior seasons, or maybe I was just blind to it then.

      • Jill...no not THAT Jill says:

PJ and L.A. Chica-I find it so funny that I love reading what both of you post even though I couldn’t disagree with you more. You both express your opinions without being insulting or having an attitude. I can say this honestly b/c I have been discussing this BH stuff with both of you all week and have never gotten the sense that if I don’t agree I’m out of my mind!! Thanks for “sparring” with me and not getting annoyed with my opinion!! You guys make me see things a little differently and I’m always opened to that-I love reading the way other people see a situation-its very interesting!!

        • L.A. Chica says:

Thank you, Jill! I enjoy reading your posts, too. It’s great that we can all express our POV here while being respectful and friendly. And I think you’re right: when we hear differing opinions it makes us consider other perspectives, and that does make life more interesting. 🙂

          • PJ says:

L.A. and Jill I love reading what both of you have to say.

            • rabblerouser2010R says:

I also agree. Obviously, Jill and I are kind of in the minority in regards to some of the current RH discussions but I still don’t feel like an outsider or an outcast. On the contrary, when I discuss some of the real life issues I am facing, I feel very supported and encouraged by everyone.

              • Sus says:

This would be a boring place if we all agreed!

                • PJ says:

The thing is learning how to express ourselves without stepping on each others toes, that can at time be a challenging thing to learn but so worth it in the end.

                  • Powell says:

PJ can you please tell Brandi that. Her not thinking before she speaks has started this. Kyle should’ve kept her trap shut asking Brandi over & over again what the issue was w/Adrienne but I feel Kyle already knew.

                    • PJ says:

If I knew her I would tell her but then I’d have to tell them all because they are all guilty of saying things they shouldn’t say. It’s just become a bigger deal with Brandi.

        • StephieBar says:

          Hi Jill,
I have been told I am very blunt in emails, so I apologise if I come across as rude, it is not my intention & I have strong opinions, but at the end of the day, it’s a TV show and I really do not care enough about any show to spew hate with/ on anyone! Let alone one of Lynn’s community ppl. So again, I really do apologise if I am coming across as too strong, black on white doesn’t show any emotion and I am rarely a smiley face type writer, so I think that gets me into trouble, but just know everything I write, I write enjoying the spar, if we all had the same opinion, it would make for a boring world.

          • Beckygrey says:

            Stephie,
I am some what like you. I am very strong in my opinions so when I say things, it may sound forceful. My previous profession that was an attribute, but not so much everywhere else. lol

      • LA_Debra says:

Hi LA Chica – just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your offer of a referral (yep LA = Los Angeles, actually Chatsworth), and your encouragement. I’m going to get this done and have set myself a goal before the end of May (that sounds like a long way off but it’s not!). Really appreciate the thought.

      • VV says:

That’s probably one if my favorites Kim’s part, on that episode she starts mocking Mo with an accent and starts saying…The truth…The truth…The truth will set you free. 😆 Kim was funny on that Talking Head.

        • Called A Princess... says:

Kim will take his money, his help and his energy but she will not take his criticism. She really needs to grow up. But that’s not going to happen, soon. JMHO.

    • adelaidesmommy says:

What shocks me about M is how much he gets involved….. I have two sisters as well and lots of good friends. My husband would never EVER stick his noise into our business. As a matter of fact, he thinks less of men who do become involved in the drama. As for the situation with Kim, I agree. I have substance abuse in my family and would have been furious with my husband for making it an issue on national television. First of all – that’s my sister and secondly…. how dare you air our dirty laundry to millions of viewers? However….I’m not Kyle. Thank goodness.

    • LaineyLainey says:

It was so obviously a “set up” – that whole Kim missed the plane thing, …”poor Kyle, look at what she puts up with. Poor Mo. Bad Kim.” Those “set-up” scenes aren’t always perceived by the viewers as the producers intended. Like the scene where Teresa G. got set up to make Melissa the “vicitim”….they missed there, too. Or like the Ana scene where she was warned (baited by production) that Lea Black was coming after her at the reunion, so she brings a folder to the reunion and verbally attacks her for being old? Producer fail… again.

Hi Lainey, Totally agree about this the set up with Kim and the plane thing. I don’t care what kind of problems my sister would have if she was an addict, I would not let my H or sign. other treat her that way on TV. That whole monologue he did about honesty was disgusting. You cannot make an addict go to rehab no matter what you say and do, when you can no longer handle it, you have to walk away until they can recognize they need help. I am on the fence about ANA – as I adore her, except for the age comments, but we also don’t know entirely what precipated that. I got so tired of Lea’s comments through the guise of her jokes at everyone’s expense. She tried to clean up her act with talking to Lisa about her pregnancy issues, too late.

Powell – glad you are feeling better, I was down with the flu/cold that ended last week and I cannot remember feeling that bad in a very long time. It seems like so many people have been affected in this small town where I live outside of Scottsdale. And I got the flu shot, but there are several strains of flu going around.

        XXOO

        • LaineyLainey says:

I understand Contessa if you have a favorite housewife and if there’s one you don’t like…or rather, you don’t like their comments (Lea); I was not really thinking about who I do or don’t like…but just pointing out that the producers set out to paint something a certain way and it seems that many times it’s an epic FAIL. It seems that they keep trying to re-create the viewer interest they got when Tre flipped that table. Or the viewer passion that was created from the Bethenny v. Jill drama. They just will never get back to that…we can never go back especially if., for example their wimpy ideas are something like this: they tell the castmember “pinch a piece of the bow off of the cake and then let’s just let nature run it’s course with the drama.” a) nobody cares about the cake, producers!!! Even Heather (as accomplished actress as she may be) couldn’t convince us that SHE believed in the cake drama. b) when they set someone up to be the bad guy, their attempts are so lazy and calculated that many of the viewers instead start siding with the person they thought we would believe is the next “bad guy.

          • Powell says:

Lainey they won’t get back to that because they keep trying to create it. Tre’s table flip wasn’t planned & even though JZ says she created the fight w/B, B had nothing to do w/it & it was real & emotional for B so it was honest to the viewers. Ever since then Bravo keeps trying to recapture that & IMO think that’s why the ratings are down & more & more of us are not watching OC or NJ or ATL. Most of the HWs fans watched all of the cities now they’re only watching 1or 2 & that’s Bravo’s fault.

            • Beckygrey says:

I thought that ATL is doing well. I think that now that Kim is gone, it is doing better. For me there isn’t anyone I want to rally around. On the OC, I don’t like anyone except Brianna and she isn’t a HW. NJ is don’t watch and NYC, I like Heather, but that was only midway. I watched Miami but I realized that I watch too much “junk” tv. lol

        • Powell says:

Thks Contessa & thks everybody. It’s a bad cold. Thk goodness it isn’t the flu. I got my flu shot in Sept so hopefully I’m safe. Just saw on the news that now California has been added to the high flu rates.

I will be back to read later but am so sad this am. Have any of you heard of the lotto winner who was killed with cyanide? His body is being exhumed in Chicago today and the cemetery is near my house. Helicopters have been flying over head all morning….4 of them. FOUR for crying out loud. What is the media going to learn from the air? That his casket came out of the ground? Big deal,,,we know it is happening today. It is just so LURID.

    Sad day in Chitown.

    • L.A. Chica says:

Oh, that’s awful! No, I haven’t seen any news yet today. Was it suicide?

      • WindyCityWondering says:

Alledgedly he was poisoned and the question is who did it. ITA about the “air coverage” it is ghoulish.

    • AZGirl says:

I feel really bad for his family. I guess his wife has been trying to get the police to reopen the case. Whenever there is a car accident or robbery the media helicopters are out over my house and I am always afraid they will collide and crash in my backyard.

      • rabblerouser2010R says:

I thought it was the other way around that that the family suspects the wife since now she has the money.

It reminds me of the lottery winner in FLA who had most of his millions sucked from him by friends and family and what little he had felt was stolen from someone who said they were going to invest it. They murdered him and buried his body and told people he left the country to escape all the people who had their hands out.

The mans ex is now trying to recover all the stolen and ‘lent’ money back because they have a child together who would be the rightful heir.

So sad how what seems like a blessing ends up being a curse.

        • AZGirl says:

I must have misread the article. It is so sad. Winning the lottery is not always a good thing. I would love to win enough to pay off my bills and put some money aside for retirement but anything over that AZGirl would get herself in trouble 🙂

      • Orson says:

I don’t feel sorry for the family member who slipped him the cyanide.

    • Powell says:

Yeah I think it’s between his wife & father. His father had financial problems. It’s sad what some family are willing to do to one another.

In the state of Washington you have to disclose publicly that you have won. I feel that this starts the process of treachery. I do not think it is any ones business if I win a lot of money. People have enemies and former co workers that have access to Social Security numbers. It feels like a bit of a set up for state sponsored failure to me. JMHO.

  5. Good Morning ….and doing the Happy Friday Jig! (picture Snoopy from Charlie Brown!) 🙂

NMD – thanks as always for bringing us together….and serving up the dish. I didn’t think Peter’s tweet was so bad. IMO, Lisa is opening herself to some undesirable drama with some choices she has been making, but I guess even upscale places are no longer immune to it. C’est publicite’! (sp) (that came from the French character in my head. Don’t ask! :P)

BB – great finale recap…and yeah for Anthony. He was my favorite to win and I think he deserved it. But they all did good and I, too, enjoyed this season. It was full on fashion and less drama, and that made it more fun to watch. Thanks for your hard work recapping!

Adelaidesmommy – always enjoy reading your recaps and seeing the conversation here between you and some of the other ladies who have experience with the dance world. Always interesting.

A “Friday Smile” blog is up today. Have a great day & Enjoy!

    • Powell says:

MarDrag I don’t think Peter meant anything mean about it either. In LA, Hollywood where the paparazzi are always star stalking anything can pop off at Burger King or Mr Chow’s out there. So some lady being arrested in SUR is not a surprise to me. Not saying that Lisa caters to unsavory clientel it’s just the nature of the beast in LA.

      • L.A. Chica says:

It may even have been a paparazzi being arrested! They are a nuisance, and sometimes they’re a real life threatening hazard in the way they chase after the money shot.

  6. Carmen says:

Brandi needs to keep her mouth SHUT! Mauricio was NOT mean to her….he was being honest…HUGE difference. If you can’t take the heat, stay out of grown folks business…period, point blank Brandi! smh

    • PJ says:

Whenever someone says I’m just being honest you can pretty much count on what they say next being mean. Mo needed to mind his own business or at the very least find out what the world he was talking about first or how about taking a look at things his own wife has said.

    • Obsessed w RH says:

I have to disagree with you. Mauricio may have been saying truthful statements but he said so in an incredibly rude and mean manner. He continued to repeat “WHY DID SHE SAY IT WHY WHY WHY” practically screaming and continued to say “CALL HER CALL HER” and yet couldn’t shut his trap for a hot second to listen to Brandi explain that she HAD called Adrienne. Quite frankly Mauricio had absolutely no business whatsoever getting involved in this conversation just like his nosy mcnoserson wife Kyle. They should be friends with Karent since the two of them like to start sh*t, watch it escalate and then sit back and play victim/pretend they can’t BELIEVE this happened.

          • Called A Princess... says:

The fact that Mo is married to Kyle proves that he is not perfect. As a person of color I find it interesting that people have a problem with him having a point of view and an critical opinion about the people around him. He is not humble and not looking for, social left over, type of behavior. People have been discussing how he treated Brandi for over a week now. One would think he had threatened to murder her. I am starting to think that people are looking for a reason to let Brandi off the hook, for her part in this nasty little story line. JMHO.

      • Beckygrey says:

What I thought was some real “shade” is they were talking about Brandi as if she wasn’t even there. Funny stuff.

  7. LaineyLainey says:

Hi Adelaide’s Mom: I thought Paige wasn’t at the competition. To whom were you referring when you said that Kelly wants “B” back on the team? Who is B? just wondering.

    • LaineyLainey says:

oh jeepers – bad manners over here….thanks for writing up the Dance Moms recap. I love your writing style!!! You’re Kelly has some nerve after the ladies went on strike for her…no loyalty.

    • adelaidesmommy says:

Brooke. Pagie did compete this week in the red carpet dance, but Brooke was cut the day they were scheduled to leave.

      • LaineyLainey says:

oh, right. I had Kelly’s girls’ names reversed. Brooke is the older one,….got it! 🙂 I think she got cut because of her age. That group is competing as juniors. She kept Mac because it brings the average age down and cut Brooke, because she brings the age up. That’s what I suspect. That always factors in when a director is deciding which kids to put in which dances for a competition.

  11. djprincessc says:

I don’t think Mauricio was being mean to Brandi, I do think he was beyond rude and disrespectful though. Mean is for 5 year olds. I also think at this point Mauricio might be attracted to Brandi/like her cus he sure seems concerned with her a lot, he can’t act upon it so instead he’s a dick…makes sense to me!!

    • LaineyLainey says:

He’s making some good points at home. I hope he’s gettin’ some.

      • Called A Princess... says:

The nicest person in the world can still be mean, sometimes. Mauricio has the right to not really like Brandi if that is his choice. Bravo has to find some way to ruin this show, like so many of the other reality show fare. LOL. He could be attracted to Brandi but he could never ever trust her big big heart/mouth. IMO.

  12. L.A. Chica says:

Ok, so I just watched Project Runway All-Stars, and I have mixed feelings about who won.

All three contestants did a wonderful job, especially considering they pulled it all together in just four days. If the winner was decided based on overall performance throughout the season, then I agree that Anthony Ryan Auld deserved to win. But if it was to be judged solely on the collection presented in this finale, then I think Uli should have won, hands down.

Regardless, I’m sure they all have bright futures ahead of them.

    • AZGirl says:

I have always like Uli’s designs. They are beautiful.

      • Called A Princess... says:

I wonder if anyone had a thought that Anthony Ryan wouldn’t win? I thought that Issac was going to throw him, his cell phone number, at times, the love was so thick. I do not like how predictable the show has become. Some seasons that top designer seems to have very little competition. I have not seen the show yet but I have a feeling that Anthony Ryan is really being looked at as the next Christian Siriano from a marketing stand point. Uli has an older demographic. JMHO.

        • L.A. Chica says:

If Uli has an older demographic then that explains why I like her designs so much! 🙂

This is the second season of the Allstars version of the show, and I agree it does feel very predetermined. It was obviously so last season when I don’t think anyone had a doubt that Mondo would win. It was the make-good for his having been robbed in the original series. Remember how the audience went ballistic and even Tim Gunn publicly said he thought the judges must have been smoking crack?

  13. AZGirl says:

Watching the clips from last night WWHL with Drita and George Takai. Drita’s advice to Teresa if Joe goes to jail was really good. George is one of my favorite actors. He is so honest and funny.

I could have sworn I posted this but I don’t see it…..or maybe I did actually swear too much in the original post and it’s in post jail? IDK

But OMG, I am going nucking futs with this insurance company business., So the advocate that my husbands HR direct assigned called the insurance company and how they are trying to say they don’t owe us $2,800 (which was the amount that THEY came up with) but it’s more like $500- which is WAY off.

In the individual maximum is $1,700 or $3,400 for the family. For oldest DD we paid $3,261+ (+ there were a few extra payments over and above my current invoice) for pediatric therapy alone and for the youngest, we paid $1016+. That does not include regular doctors visits and trips to the ER (because we all know my kids put things in their mouth they aren’t suppose to- on top of my DH and myself. So even if they added both the therapies together that would be $4277 and subtracted $3,400 that would be approx $877 therapy (never mind everything else that we paid,I am not even sure if the co-payments on our prescriptions count because that is at about another $500).

But I can safely say that this year, I am watching every penny and making sure we get our letter when we are suppose to to avoid over paying again because I am going to rip my hair out. Arrggg.

    • Sus says:

After it’s all straightened out, I recommend overpaying your bill by 19 cents for 6 months and then underpay by 19 cents for 6 months. That’s payback 🙂

      • rabblerouser2010R says:

lol, I think by the end of this I will have spent all the money reimbursed on drink since all this nonsense is driving me to it.

  15. Jill...no not THAT Jill says:

Why is everyone saying that Mauricio was butting in? When you are in a group and a conversation starts is it impolite to speak? If your business becomes the topic then isn’t it everyone’s business at the table? I don’t get why people are saying Mauricio should MYOB-they all were talking about it-Ken Lisa everyone. If Mauricio agreed with Brandi would he still be butting in? Also if Mauricio is friends with the Maloof’s why wouldn’t he stick up for them? Even if he is only “chasing the commission” why would he stick up for Brandi if he thinks she is wrong?
It bugs me too that Brandi thinks that b/c she doesn’t have a man with her that all the other men should be “nice” to her. She was screaming FU and STFU at Mauricio but then calls him mean on Twitter? She sometimes acts likes she has the biggest balls in the business and 2 seconds later she acts like a little girl…its very annoying!!!

    • Obsessed w RH says:

My issue with Mauricio is him inserting himself into the conversation because if my recollection serves me properly (and I could be wrong), he wasn’t a part of the discussion of her suit when it began but then loudly chimed in with his unsolicited advice to “not listen to your lawyers and to pick up the phone etc” Ken shouldn’t have said anything either but I don’t blame him as much because Mauricio was steamrolling everyone and everything and not listening to what Brandi was saying in response to questions he was asking (see above where I point out that he continues to say “WHY WHY WHY DIDN’t SHE CALL” and wasn’t listening to her response. When you have a conversation with someone you listen to what they’re saying and M just continued to talk talk talk and wasn’t listening to a word anyone else was saying.

      • VV says:

        Well, two videos..

      • Jill...no not THAT Jill says:

VV-I can see that people think he acted jerky-I get that. I just dont get that he is supposed to myob when a group discussion is going on. If he went to Brandi and tried to talk to her in private-then I think that is butting in and even I would have a problem with that.

    • rabblerouser2010R says:

I don’t think Mauricio was butting in either.
Lisa and Brandi have a lot of fan support and Brandi seems to think she is impervious to criticism because of it. I suspect Lisa is to, but she is much, much more clever and discreet in the manner she goes about it. She has ‘frozen’ Adrienne out the entire season and she seemed to very much enjoy watching Adrienne squirm her way though her apology during their lunch date.
I actually do like Brandi and Lisa (I know it might not seem that based on the current discussion, but it’s really more that they just fell a few rungs in my opinion of them, the same as how Paul or Mauricio did in some others POV).

My worry is that they are going to let this get to their heads and be tyrants behind the 4th wall.

      • VV says:

We just disagree on this one if any man talks to my daughter the way he did to her, I would certainly let him have it.
        We just disagree RR

        • rabblerouser2010R says:

And that’s okay …a new issue will come up on either this show or another and many of us will be on the same page again. And as mentioned, when real life comes into our group discussions, we have each others backs and that is what matters.

    • L.A. Chica says:

In my opinion, when you’re in a group and a discussion starts it’s impolite to speak if that speech is antagonistic. It’s sometimes hard to keep an opinion to oneself, but whether you want to call it mean or rude, that’s what Mauricio’s contribution to the conversation was. If it bothered him that people were talking about Adrienne and Paul then he should have, as co-host with his wife, redirected the conversation to something less volital.

Brandi brought it up when it was only her, Kyle, and Marissa, and it should have stayed there. But this is Bravo and this is Housewives, so of course the topic was raised again after the other parties arrived. IIRC, Yoyo and Lisa were discussing between themselves how pointless they thought it was for A to threaten to sue B since B has no money, and then someone (I’ve forgotten who) said how hypocritical it was of A since she was the one who coined the phrase among the group, “friends don’t sue friends.” Kyle was actually the first to say that A was doing it to intimidate B, and Lisa agreed. I’d have to watch it all over again (I don’t want to! lol) but it seemed to be a chaotic mix of some people discussing the subject amongst themselves and a few others addressing Brandi. And Taylor was very drunk.

But to return to your first question, Jill, I think Dean Zanuck by far handled himself within the group conversation the best: “Who’s ready for dessert?”

      😆

      • L.A. Chica says:

        Volatile

      • Jill...no not THAT Jill says:

Oh and Dean Zanuck and Marissa(?) will have lots more to say if they are asked back next season…this I will bet my life on!!!!

        • L.A. Chica says:

I have no doubt Marissa will, but I wonder if Dean will try to be involved as little as possible.

          • Jill...no not THAT Jill says:

Remember Heather from OC-her husband loved being on the show-and I thought he would be so quiet. he loved the stupid bow/cake drama more than all the HW’s put together!!! I think all the men start out kind of camera shy and then BAM-they want to be on screen every minute!!!

            • L.A. Chica says:

I served on jury duty last year for a medical malpractice case and he was a witness. He was so pompous and arrogant, I couldn’t stand him! Since I don’t watch the OC franchise I didn’t recognize him, but found out after the trial was over that he was Heather’s husband.

      • PJ says:

I loved Dean Zanuck, that was funny and an attempt to lighten the mood of the group.

    • L.A. Chica says:

Also, it was Ken who came to Brandi’s defense and made the comment about Brandi being single and not having a man to defend her, Brandi herself never claimed to be a damsel in distress. Ken is older than Morris and was being chivalrous, and in her Bravo blog Brandi thanked Ken for doing that but also said she was actually fine to defend herself.

And for the record, I think I’d have yelled at Mo to STFU, too, because he was only talking and not listening.

      • Obsessed w RH says:

Agreed!!! and I’d have probably told him a lot worse than STFU too!!!

        • Jill...no not THAT Jill says:

Obsessed-its not that I have a problem with the STFU to Mauricio-I have a problem with Brandi acting like a baby about the whole thing. If you have the balls to tell someone to STFU then you cant get all girly and cry baby like after…..she loves to say “man up”…she needs to man up!!! I said it before and I’ll say it again- Brandi has her mouth write checks that her ass cant cash!!!!

          • Obsessed w RH says:

Jill- I can definitely see what you mean by that. I was annoyed she cried because I would have no problem saying STFU but when she cried I’m like come on B hold it together!!!

      • rabblerouser2010R says:

In Brandi’s blog she mentions how Mauricio ‘had a go at her’ and that she was a ‘single mother’ but I mentioned in another thread how I suspect Lisa might have helped her since it sounds more like verbiage she would use.

        • L.A. Chica says:

Your post made me wonder if I’d misremembered so I just went back to Brandi’s last Bravo blog. Here’s what she said about that:

“All was good in the hood, until Mauricio decided to come after me for something that has absolutely nothing to do with him. He didn’t nearly have all the information and in what world does a married man and a father of four daughters have a go at a single mother at a dinner party? Thank you to Ken and Lisa for stepping in and trying to put a stop to it all. I so very appreciate it, but as we have learned many of times before I can and do defend myself!”

So here’s my take on it: Brandy is chastising Maurice for going after her so aggressively at the dinner. I interpret “in what world does a married man and a father of four daughters have a go at a single mother at a dinner party?” to mean that as a husband and father of five females, people who we might assume he’d feel morally obligated to protect, he should know better than to attack a woman, and yes – a single woman at that. It’s a critique of *his* behavior, not a statement of helplessness. On the contrary, Brandi feels quite capable of handling bullies like Mo, as she states in her next sentence.

As for “having a go” I didn’t think anything of it. And even if she did pick it up from hanging around Lisa, that’s normal. We tend to pick up slang and other phrases from people we spend a lot of time with, don’t we? What would be funny is if we started hearing Lisa telling people to STFU. Actually, I’d welcome hearing her say that to Stassi. 😉

          • Sus says:

LOL @ Lisa picking up STFU

          • Rebecca says:

It was still pretty raw that Paul was yelling at her too. I suppose she was expecting the conversation to escalate to that level.

She needs to learn the words “DROP IT” or “CHANGE THE SUBJECT” instead of STFU and she would have a lot more support.

            • L.A. Chica says:

ITA. Hopefully as her mentor, Lisa can help her with that.

              • Called A Princess... says:

Brandi needs to stop saying nasty thinks about or to people, to begin with. She attacks for attention and then retreats into victim hood. She is smart on the back end of the game, but makes a horrible starter. If she lights the match, since when is she not responsible for the explosion. When she is more popular then her intended victim’s. I have always thought that Brandi was a very angry person that wants people to think that she is happy. JMHO.

                • L.A. Chica says:

I think Brandi would not attack if she weren’t attacked first. I don’t think she attacks for attention, she attacks in self-defense. When has she been the initiator in any of her fights with anyone?

      • Jill...no not THAT Jill says:

Brandi has said on twitter and maybe in her blog that she was alone and how mean Mauricio was to say anything to a woman who was alone…to me it makes her seem weak when she always says she is so strong.
Back to my question-how is it butting in when everyone is talking? Im not asking about his tone or his “stance”…If it is butting in to voice an opinion then we are all buttinskis I guess???

        • L.A. Chica says:

It’s butting in if you give an opinion on a subject that doesnt involve you, and if you give an opinion on that subject that doesn’t involve you without having been asked for it, and it’s butting in if you *insist* on giving your opinion without having all the facts and without asking for those facts, and especially if you keep insisting on giving your opinion in the face of people trying to make you better informed.

Imo, sometimes in a group dynamic the role of some people is to listen quietly until the conversation turns to subject on which they can make a genuine contribution. I’ve done this many times myself, especially when friends are talking about their children (I have none). I don’t think they’d appreciate me offering advice on how to be a better parent or pointing out what I think they’re doing wrong.

          • WindyCityWondering says:

Brandi made a comment while she was trying to shut down the convo that she has heard all their opinions on the subject. Mauricio said you haven’t heard mine. I did not hear Brandi say to him that she wanted to hear his opinion. From the gossip girl remarks at his home, to the lack of intervention at his infommercial party to his unsolicitated opinion at the dinner – something is up with Mauricio – and it isn’t very nice.

            • L.A. Chica says:

              ITA.

Jill, I forgot to say that I believe we buttinskies on this blog are perfectly entitled to give our opinions here because that’s what Bravo wants and expects! I only meant that imho the above post applies to normal, real life social gatherings. Opine away! 😀

In a mixed group of adults, I am not sure what a “genuine contribution” would be. I think it is pretty simple. If Brandi does not want people to correct her behavior then she should stop the behavior. Not just apologize, but stop saying thinks that might cause a casino. But then she would not be the center of attention. Oh! JMHO.

Oh ick! I just saw an ad for Project Runway Teams, and they’re pushing it as a cut-throat competition that’s filled with back stabbing and much negative drama. Don’t know about anyone else but I will not be watching, no matter that Tim Gunn has a role in it. The appeal of Project Runway is the CREATIVITY. Didn’t the producers learn that when viewers rebelled the season bitchy Gretchen what’s-her-name won? I hope this version bombs. 😡

  17. shamrockblonde says:

Any time there was ever any kind of family disturbance in our family, our spouses stayed well out of it – while they may have questioned us about it, or let their feelings be known, it was always done in private – just spouse to spouse – never ever did they engage – for that matter any family gathering was never the setting for any kind of argument – that was done privately with only those arguing present –

when I was about 10, some neighborhood boy made fun of my sister and shoved her to the ground – I beat the crap out of him – bloodied his nose, left marks on him – well he went crying home to his Mom and I walked home to my house – my Mom happened to be home that day – she worked full time my whole life – despite the fact that I was not crying – something I would never do in front of people – I was all scuffed up and she knew something had happened so I told her how the boy had picked on my sister and shoved her down, but then the boy I beat up and his Mom showed up at the front door – my Mom answered the door, listened to the other woman complain about me hitting and beating her son, and when she was done my Mom told her that perhaps if she had taught her son some manners and taught him not to insult people perhaps my actions would not have been necessary, and to that, hadn’t she ever taught her son never to hit a girl? she laid into that lady pretty good defending me and all the while I thought, oh great – she’s on my side – I’m not in trouble at all – well – she shut that door, grabbed me by the ear and dragged me into the kitchen, all the while talking through her teeth to me about how I had embarrassed myself and our family by publicly fighting – and what was I thinking doing that!!! we went over how wrong it is to use violence to solve something, but we also spoke about how to handle confrontation – my point is that at that moment, even though she was furious with me, she defended me to an outsider – I never forgot that lesson – probably not what she intented me to learn, but still –

Maury was rude and disrespectful to Brandi – he could have taken her aside and said his piece privately, but that would not have sat well with Bravo production as they love the drama – and I suspect Maury loves the face time on camera and the resulting attention that he has been getting for it – never liked him, but lately he has been behaving like a little kid that only knows how to get attention by being a brat –

sorry so long – I just know that if my husband ever ever ever spoke to my sister in that way, I would have defended her and he would have caught high holy hell – privately – and if my sister was in the wrong, I still would have defended her publicly – and then privately she would have gotten high holy hell – Kyle should have defended Kim – and should have dragged Maury out by his ear at that party and given him what for – that casino was unnecessary –

    • melthehound says:

Let me ask you this, SRB… Did the kid who went crying home to his mommy after he got beat up by a ‘girl’ ever pick on your sister again?

      • rabblerouser2010R says:

I’m smiling at shamrock for making me nostalgic with tales of the fighting Irish throwing down for family. Ahhhh the memories. 😀

I am 2nd generation Irish and you picked on a brother or sister or cousin it was death. What you could not finish the others did…..:) Of course we all had to go to confession on Friday afternoon.

The difference between Englishman and Irishman.
An Irishman and Englishman were having a drink outside a pub. They looked up at the castle on the hill and the Englishman said “someday I am going to own that castle” the Irishman said “Someday I am doing kill the guy who lives in that castle.”

      • shamrockblonde says:

LOL – nope – and neither did anyone else……….

        • Jill...no not THAT Jill says:

          shamrock KICKS ASS!!!

        • melthehound says:

I’m sure that somehow I’m wrong in saying this but I say mission accomplished then. There’s a world of difference, in my mind, between randomly beating up people (bully) and defending one’s sibling from the neighborhood bully. Temper or not, kudos to you for standing up for your little sister.

          • Sus says:

I know what you are saying mel. There was a little girl that was constantly hitting, biting and kicking other girls from kindergarten through 4th grade. In the 4th grade, this other girl lost her temper and beat the hell out of the bully. I’m talking two black eyes. The bully turned into a sweet girl and to my knowledge hasn’t touched any one since.

I heard a rumor that the teachers ran slowly to break it up. I don’t know if that’s true though.

My stance is you never hit no matter what but….

            • L.A. Chica says:

I don’t have children but have observed many through the years, and I’ve noticed that at least with young children who act out as a bully it’s a pretty safe bet that things are not so wonderful at home. Not all children act out that way of course, but for some I think it’s the only way they know how to respond because they don’t otherwise know how to cope. IMO.

              • PJ says:

I used to work at a private school and the kids with behavior issues would sometimes say things they had to be repeating from having heard an adult say it at home. Once a boy said how his life had been ruined and he was so sick of this crap and he was going to take back control of his life; it was all out of proportion to anything that had happened at school and plus he was young and it was grown up sounding stuff. I could just see him hearing this over and over at home. It does start with the parents.

            • melthehound says:

There’s always that ‘but’ isn’t there? Stories like this show that people can be pushed only so far.

          • L.A. Chica says:

            Hi Mel! 😀

I agree with you about the distinction between bullying and defense.

  18. shamrockblonde says:

heh – yeah, my bad ass self in the long run probably did more harm than good – I can still remember seeing the neighbor Mom at church and my Mom nodding and smiling at her so sweetly, and then turning to me with the look of death because of it – my little bad ass self also had the other neighbors’ tongues wagging about what a wild child I was – not exactly what my parents wanted me to be known for – my temper is something I struggled mightily with until finally God decided that the only way I would learn patience was to send me a little girl – just like me – I speak to my Mom every day, and every day I thank her for not killing me – me and my bad ass self!!

    *hugs entire board really hard*

    • L.A. Chica says:

Sending you hugs right back (but refraining from giving advice 😉 )!

    • AZGirl says:

Funny part about all this is that being Irish you came to the defense of all family members but once you walked into the house brothers and sisters would fight even worse. Being the youngest I was just locked in the hallway closet to keep me from getting in the fight.

  19. Sus says:

My husband started bitching about something when he came in after work today. I told him on behalf of Brandi – “STFU”
    🙂

  20. AZGirl says:

Re-watching last weeks Moroccan nightmare. Taylor is out of control drunk and why this is cool with Maury and Kyle is insane. The look on Brandi’s face is priceless. Taylor is a hot mess and thank you for Marissa Zanuck for keeping that thought alive.
Brandi is no angel. I am sure she has burned a few bridges in BH. Maury’s comments were about control and arrogance. Commission money he is counting on in the future on the sale of Paul and Adrienne house. Ken was right in what he said in defense of Brandi. My husband would never inject himself in a battle between friend. This is between Brandi, Paul and Adrienne.

I also notice when they all arrived at the restaurant Maury gave Ken the cold shoulder and you can see Ken’s reaction. Total distain. Maury got is commission on the sale of their home and now Vanderpump/Todd are no longer on the “A” list. Maury is a bore.

    • BB says:

Next week Maury tries to make nice with Lisa and Ken and seems puzzled they when they aren’t all warm and fuzzy towards him. See, at that point he’s not trying to make nice with Brandi because she has nothing to offer him business-wise. She’s just not in the same league as the “friends” with whom he wants to be associated.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

IIRC, Lisa and Ken gave their listing to their friend Martin and never could figure out why Mauricio got a taste of that commission. And I find it sad that as soon as their house sold both Kyle and Mauricio stopped being besties with them.

      • Sus says:

Maybe it was Maurice’s clients that bought the house. If that’s the case, Lisa and Ken’s broker would have to split the commission with him.

I love calling him Maurice. For some reason the name Maurice makes me think of an ugly turtle.

      • Rebecca says:

MU sold their house. Martin helped them buy their new house.

  21. WindyCityWondering says:

I am happy that the regular girls are back at Abby’s studio. And I love Sophia because she has mad skills and is a little sweetie even though she told Abby she was mean. I realize the show is called Dance Moms but I am wanting to see less of the moms and more of the girls! IF the moms don’t like how Abby teaches or talks to their children then why don’t they move their girls to another school?

    • PJ says:

These moms make me wonder. If their girls win a competition they did it without their teacher if they aren’t doing something right it’s their teacher’s fault. Abbey can’t win with them. How about some personal responsibility to go around.

  22. melthehound says:

adelaidesmommy, now that I’ve watched the show and read your recap, I’ll say that I love your writing style. That you point out how likely scripted all this stuff between ALM and the moms, especially that bullshit lobby scene. That said however, I think these moms are all phucked in the head stage mom wannabes. Shelly (Ally’s mom) is the only one I can think of with an ounce of respect for her daughter and herself at this point. The rest are whoring themselves out for a TV show as I’m certain their daughters would be welcome at any dance studio. I guess it’s working though, they are ‘known’.

Christi was dead on right though about who these kids are products of and the fact that the hungry hippo is taking credit for work that isn’t hers. I happen to like Cloe, I think she’s one of the most talented ones there. Every time the hungry hippo starts bellowing at Cloe, who by the way consistently wins the jobs and extra prizes (and it burns the hippo’s ass I’m certain), I just want to stuff a giant sweaty sock in her mouth.

I do fear a little bit for these girls though. I wonder what kind of women they will become. What’s going to happen to them, especially the ‘sophias’ if they don’t get that golden star to fame or perhaps more importantly, what will happen if they Do.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

Abby’s relationship with Chole’s mom is the problem – IMO, Abby takes out her frustration on the kid instead of dealing with her mom.

    • PJ says:

I really hope these crazy people are amping it up for the cameras.

  23. Hello Darlings!
I posted a note on my blog, but wanted to post here too, that I have been having computer difficulties today (arrrgh!) and I have to take it to my tech wizards tomorrow, so I will not be posting for a couple of days. They are great guys, and I am sure it will be a quick fix, but I didn’t want anyone to wonder or worry if I wasn’t around for a couple of days.

Know I will be going through serious blog withdrawal and missing you…but I will be back very shortly. I have a great post planned for the next blog, so see you in a couple of days!

    Have a great weekend!

Just caught up with the blogs…Bethenny’s moving out of her apartment was discussed on yesterday’s blog. B was asked about it and her answer is no.

    Bethenny Frankel ‏@Bethenny
Nope. @MarleneSalus: @Bethenny Are you really moving to a new condo???

  25. PJ says:

I can’t bring myself to watch Oprah and Lance tonight. I really found Lance to be inspiring, this is very disappointing. I honestly wish he hadn’t done this interview. The only thing I’ll say in his defense is that he didn’t invent this drug culture and he wasn’t the only one doing it. How about others involved taking responsibility instead of just putting it all on Lance. That being said this is a really big deal.

ll be watching the finale of Fringe, can’t wait to see how it all ends.

    • Nancy says:

      Hi PJ,
They are going after Lance because he was the one that won.
The amount of people that went down because of him is unforgivable. IMHO.

      • L.A. Chica says:

My husband was watching ESPN last night and they were talking about how Lance Armstrong has sued so many people ober the years and won, and these suits were about whether he was doping up. That’s a real abuse of the courts and a real abuse of people.

        • WindyCityWondering says:

Do you think some of those folks will come after him now with new law suits? He destroyed a lot of careers with his lies.

          • BB says:

I’m pretty certain there will be lawsuits and I hope he pays for what he has done to others.

            • Nancy says:

I feel so sorry for his children. He can still make something out of his life though as
this country loves a come back story. Of course it will never be the same but
something good may happen in the future.

        • PJ says:

I know it’s horrible but still so disappointing.

          • Nancy says:

He got so wrapped up in it with the help of others. He of course is paying the biggest
price as he was the one that won. He should start working with children in the bad areas of LA.

            • PJ says:

There are very few people in the world that I really find inspiring, he was one of the few. This make me so sad. I’m not sure what he can do to repair his image, I’m not sure it’s even possible.

    • Cartwheels says:

I watched, it was sad and dissapointing, I wonder how would he recover if ever.

BTW it is all set and done, he will not only lose the money from sponsors but also there are a lot of lawsuits coming his way, he will barely have anything left.

I do agree with you that is not possible for him to have done this all by himself and the other ones who are responsible should also be punished.

“Fellow riders say they wish they’d never hooked on with him. Support staff claim they wish they’d never taken a job. Sponsors are lining up to sue. Journalists who carried his water for years are writing they wish they’d never bought the lie.
The more Armstrong talked Thursday, the more it became obvious: This seems like the last and least likable individual you’d want to hang around.
He was, and likely remains, nothing but a machine of personal glorification, no concept of his real place in the world. Now that the truth is out, it’s not about the cheating so much as it’s about the way he fought dirty to protect the cheating.
“I was a bully,” he acknowledged. “In the sense that I tried to control the narrative, and if I didn’t like what somebody said, I tried to control that and say that’s a lie.”
Except he didn’t stop at saying “that’s a lie.” He’d start there, then go on the attack, often trying to ruin his accusers professionally and, perhaps, personally, maybe legally and certainly financially.”

      • Armstrong’s admission now is totally calculated. Do you think he didn’t check with his attorneys before going on Oprah? The people he ruined, suing them, cannot go after him now. Statute of limitations, folks. He not only went after them with lawyers & ruined them financially, he made it impossible for them to get work, he ruined their reputations, their careers, their word – they were speaking the truth! He was RELENTLESS and he was LYING. This jerk should never be allowed to compete in anything ever again. Who knows if he will compete fairly?? He only wants to get back into the limelight. He doesn’t care or even remember how many people he trampled on while ruthlessly going after them, for telling the truth. A ruthless jerk in every sense of the word, thy name is Lance Armstrong. Unless he goes back and not only apologizes to his former friends & colleagues that he ruined by compensating them for their losses, and raises money for charity NOT for his ego, I am not interested in giving this jerk one more second of attention. Oh and I will never watch Oprah’s channel again. She whored herself out for him, IMO!

He’s still got plenty of cash believe me. The man is a heartless jerk. He conned everyone, don’t let yourself be fooled.

        • PJ says:

I have read that there will be lawsuits. The statute of limitations may be up for any or most criminal cases but not personal cases. As for me I’m not being fooled but I still think it’s sad that this is the reality. My dearest friend in the world is contending with cancer and Lance Armstrong was someone I found inspiring because of his battle with cancer and his comeback. He made cycling interesting even exciting for me.

But in the end probably many people who are looked up to in the world are not great people in reality. I’m not defending him but he couldn’t have done this alone and it seems to me that now all the people who went along with this are coming out of the woodwork to put all the blame on him. One thing he said that made sense was that some of the same people who did this while on his team went to other teams and did the same thing, he had no control of what was done on other teams, my guess is that they all (or the majority) do it.

      • please read this, see how Lance Armstrong who ruined a real hero, Greg LeMond is now accomplishing his goals….disgusting

        http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/more/news/20130118/lance-armstrong-admission-kathy-lemond-reaction/

        • CNN is talking about why Armstrong made his admission now. It’s totally a legal move to protect himself. Now he’s admitted it, so if he ever gives testimony in future trials, he can say “yes it’s true, I admitted it” and will not have to stick to his old lies, which made PERJURY a real possibility (lyning under oath). Also, he will not have to go to jail for perjury or anything most likely he will just get a slap on the wrist.

The legal expert CNN had said this is why Armstrong fessed up, it’s totally to protect himself! The statute of limitations has run out for his past lies….but he is being investigated by the Justice department now for fraud. So he will have to pay up for that, but he will still have plenty of money left. I don’t believe Armstrong cares about anyone but HIMSELF. For me, it’s not the doping. It’s what he did to destroy everyone that ever told the truth about. He is a sociopath.

  26. VV says:

Turns out YES YOU CAN FILTER TWEETS. There are free apps to do that. TweetDeck is one of them. This is basically what Mauricio did. This is why we can’t see all the negative tweets that I’m sure he is getting.

This is also how certain pseudo celebrities only get postive tweets too.

  27. chismosa says:

VV if you’re out there they are repeating bad episodes of Bethenny’s last shows for bravo. On right now. Also they repeated the WWH of her. I’m surprised she’s not pissed at Andy over this.

    • NJBev says:

That is so funny Chismosa!! I was thinking last night “if Bravo has a brain in
their head, they would be airing all of the old Beth episodes to cash in on her media
frenzy” and now you tell us that’s exactly what they are doing! I wonder, did they change the regular schedule, or if they had this lined up (i mean does this match up
with what is in TV guide)?
      Thanks for the heads up!

      • Powell says:

Hey chismosa & NJBev. Don’t you ladies ever sleep. 😀

      • LavaLady says:

Hi NJ Bev, I’ve been “looking for you”! A while back you asked how we were doing in Lavallette. I wanted to respond, but waited until I actually “saw” you! Thanks so much for asking about our summer house. We are slowly rebuilding/renovating. We hired a mold remediation company, and they did an excellent job. We hired a contractor, and so far are very happy with his work. All electrical, ac and heat have been repaired and replaced. We have chosen new kitchen cabinets, and new tile. Also, the roof replacement starts Monday. So we are moving along.

Insurance claims are ongoing. Flood insurance was very responsive in the beginning, but now will not respond to our e mails or calls. Homeowners insurance says we have to wait 30 days or more to see what they will cover. FEMA did not help, as they do not cover second homes. This is the frustrating part of the whole experience, and we our using our savings and borrowing to get started while we await our coverage. Not an ideal situation, but we did not wait to hold up progress.

Our little town was very hard hit, but it looks much better. All trash piles are gone, and almost every home has a contractor truck in front. Not everyone will come back. Many people did not have flood insurance, and do not have the resources to rebuild unless they receive financial assistance. That is the reality. The shore will be very different in the
years to come. We are hopeful all of our friends and neighbors will return, but it is very difficult for some, especially the retirees on limited incomes.

I hope all is well with you, NJBev. I am glad you are able to use your beach home, and I am looking forward to doing the same soon.

        • Powell says:

LavaLady I’m glad that you have been able to rebuild. It’s a shame that the insurance part is frustrating. I was telling my mother that I like our insurance agent & insurance company but if a disaster happens to us I don’t trust them. You pay your insurance w/o fail for 15, 20, 30 yrs then have a disaster & are treated like they don’t know you. It’s all about money, their profits. And FEMA should be ashamed. They don’t cover 2nd homes? You paid your taxes which have gone into FEMA. What difference does it make. It’s your home. I’m glad your neighborhood is looking better & you see progress. It’s sad some of your neighbors may not return because they just don’t have the resources. Again people that have worked for yrs to have their homes. It’s not fair.

        • NJBev says:

          Hello Lava!!!
I too, have been “looking” for you”
I am soo glad to hear that you’ve been
able to start the re-construction of your
home! I feel for the people who have to
wait for the insurance or the “aid” to be
distributed before they can start the clean-up.
By then, it will be too late. No amount of
cleaning will be able to rid these
structures of the mold. I’ve noticed
          that contactors are becoming very
available again because so many people
cannot move forward until the “checks”
come in. The government should be ashamed
          of themselves. The prejudice agains’t
this state has become truly apparent. NJ is
2nd out of all the states to send money in the
form of taxes to the federal govt, and we are second to
last to recieve federal aid in any form! That congress
did not “ok” the disaster relief aid immediately to us is
          reprehensible.

Its great you picked out cabinets and tile-
how was that process for you? I’m finding it
overwhelming. Any suggestions would be greatly
appreciated. I did pick out tile for 2 baths, but no cabinets
OR appliances. I cannot believe how much appliances
have changed in 15 years!! The technology!!
I went to Sears about 2 weeks ago for
washer and dryer and fridge. I walked out
3 HOURS later with nothing but a headache!

You are so right about our shoreline not
being the same again for a long time-
we have to meet w/ town officials to see
whats going to be done to our beach. We
didnt lose a lot of it. (We saved it in our house
for them, lol) but the the debris is bad.
So much broken glass. It wont be safe to
walk barefoot for years. I was walking on
beach weeks ago and found the electrical
cord from my central vacuum. Last time I saw
it was in my laundry room. Can you imagine the
force of that surge? I think we are lucky most
people obeyed the evacuation or so many
          more would have perished.

Lava, I could go on forever! Thank you so
much for catching up with me- I swear I think
of you so much! Everytime Im on the road
and see a “lava” sticker on an SUV I always
wonder if that could be our “Lava”- once
I saw a young blond girl driving an Acura
SUV and I said to myself “that could be
          little Lava!”
So congratulations on your “new” home!
If you have any advice on how/where to
proceed with any of the deco aspects
          of this process, please share!

Is that reason for a divorce? See, wee have two issues now. P & A were a united front against whatever Brandi outed. Shortly after, Paul files for divorce? Is it related to the “secret”? We can only speculate. That scene at SUR was heavely edited. Who knows how many hours of film they got. Is it just ONE secret or many secrets but ONE that was too private that the other ladies were horrified.
I don’t think we’ll know the truth completely. Time will tell though…
