Party in Vegas for New Jersey Housewives, Kandi Burruss Music Drama Plus Andy was the Host of ATL Reunion by NoMoreDrama
Let’s catch up with our New Jersey ladies. A week ago Melissa, Jacqueline, and Teresa and their husbands were spotted in LaGuardia airport. Looks like they were on their way to Arizona at the time. Jacqueline Laurita tweeted: “Does anyone know a great steak restaurant in the city of Tuscan, AZ? How is
@Flemings ?” and Richie Wakile tweeted “Good morning! Happy St. Patrick’s day!!! @KathyWakile & I are celebrating from beautiful Arizona!”
It must have been a short trip, because Kathy Wakile was on QVC yesterday pushing her cannoli kit. Has anyone tried it?
Meanwhile Melissa Gorga was in Vegas with Joe celebrating her birthday yesterday.
Kathy and Richie and their daughter Victoria flew to Vegas to join them. I think Victoria is 18 or 19 – isn’t she a freshman in college? So I find this tweet of Kathy’s disturbing – especially the hashtag.
I don’t find it funny that Melissa would say that an underage girl would get #WhiteGirlWasted in Vegas. Sorry. I just don’t. I’m not even sure what the #WhiteGirl part means to be honest. Someone help me out with this.
Meanwhile Victoria tweeted:
That could mean just about anything …
They were getting on the plane this morning … I think Richie and Kathy should talk to each other before they tweet out nonsense. Obviously if Melissa said Victoria was going to get WhiteGirlWasted in Vegas, it’s no surprise that the Wakile’s are coming.
I’m not sure if Teresa Giudice is on the trip. She has two appearances for her Milania Hair Care line in New Jersey tomorrow. Caroline Manzo was in New York last night at a book launch party for “Let me tell you something.” It’s not clear if Caroline went to Arizona either.
Well sadly, my favorite housewife, Kandi Burruss, may have a history of not following through with the “talent” she nurtures. I put talent in quotes because it’s a stretch to call Kim Zolciak talented – in singing at least. It’s hard to say what really happened between Kandi and Kim. Kandi claims she wasn’t paid enough for producing and her role in writing Kim’s hit “Tardy for the Party.” Kim claims she overpaid Kandi, and that her daughter Brielle actually wrote the song. In a press release Kim alleges that Kandi is just suing her as a publicity stunt. Having castmate Phaedra Parks as her lawyer does make that seem likely. As far as the song, how I remember it is the original “Tardy to the Party” that was introduced Season One of the show was introduced as a country song written by Brielle’s music teacher. NeNe sang it for us, and it was a real NOTHING like the song Kandi produced for Kim in Season Two. Kandi was clearly looking to show off her chops as a song writer/producer when she joined the show Season Two, and, quite frankly, if she could get a song out of Kim (autotune is magic) she should be able to get a song out of anyone – so mission accomplished.
I’ve always suspected Kandi never in her wildest dreams thought that Tardy for the Party would be a hit, and therefore didn’t bother with a contract. Season Three Kandi produced two songs on the show – “The Ring Didn’t Mean a Thing” for Kim, and “Closet Freak” for Lawrence. This was the season with the infamous bus tour where Kandi was testing out songs and Kim was opening for her. Kim and NeNe got into a fight that lasted through several states and continued on into Thomas Kramer‘s home in Miami. This season, Kim and Kandi couldn’t come to an agreement on a contract for the song, and it was never released. As for Lawrence Washington, on the Hairdressers Tell All special that started this season, he let on that his single had never been released as well, but didn’t mention why. Now the rumor is that Kandi wanted a cut to market the single, and when Lawrence didn’t agree, she had the single pulled from Itunes. Hmmm. Lawrence isn’t really talking, but he did tweet to confirm that he was never paid for his single:
Stranger still is the situation with Matthew Solomon. Last year Kandi did a pilot for the Kandi Factory – the show that is set to begin on Bravo next month. The show took two people and put them through singer boot-camp, with Kandi as their mentor. At the end of the show, Matthew was declared the winner with his song “Put Your Middle Finger Up.” His song was also pulled from Itunes. Here are some of his tweets/retweets:
Yet a month ago he seemed optimistic that his single would be on Itunes.
Meanwhile, Kandi fired back at Kim’s claim that the lawshit over Tardy for the Party was just a publicity stunt to extend Kandi’s 15 minute of fame.
Meanwhile, castmate Porsha Stewart may not be returning to the show next year. Porsha was portrayed as a dingbat, but that’s not the issue. Apparently husband Kordell is steamed over how he was portrayed, i.e. as a controlling nut job. Kordell refused to tape the reunion, even though all the other husbands showed up. You can read all about it here on Rolling Out. Kordell Stewart is not the first househusband to dislike his edit. Alexis Bellino’s husband suffered a similar fate, and severely limited his screen time.
Mystery solved. Andy Cohen WAS the host of the Real Housewives of Atlanta Reunion, and they got enough for a three-hours of drama. In this spoof on Justin Timberlake, Andy Cohen onto the reunion set, fist pumping Cynthia along the way, voicing over: “Some one asked me. So. So are you just done with housewives? Housewives mean more to me than anyone else in the world. At the end of the season I only have one chance to ? these ladies. I obsess over it, before anyone else can even think of it. 265 days a year. Donkey booties, stallion booties, wigs, weaves, close your legs to married men, Gone with the Wind fabulous. Will a bird hit me in the face? Will I get pushed like a rag doll? Will someone produce documentation that proves absolutely nothing? Is somebody going to out my past as a stripper? We’ll have to wait.” Then he turns around and the black and white film fades to color. He says, “I’m ready.” Watch it here.
Finally, in news too strange to be true, Bethenny Frankel’s five million dollar condo isn’t hers. She put it in one of her assistant’s names. In news that makes you go huh, this latest insight into Bethenny’s strange world was reported by NaughtyButNice Rob. I am scratching my head over this one. Any thoughts on why she’d do that?
Project Runway “He Said, She Said” by BB
Last week there was no winner and Amanda was sent home. The judges have picked new teams; Richard, Layana and Samantha are a team; Stanley and Patricia are a team; and Daniel and Michelle are a team.
The designers meet Tim at Lord and Taylor and they are told they will be designing a ready-to-wear look for Spring using the signature rose of Lord and Taylor as their inspiration. The winner will have their look featured at Lord and Taylor and on Lord and Taylor’s website.
Each designer will be making their own look. Because Richard thinks Layana threw him under the bus at the last runway, he refuses to even speak to her. It’s a little immature of him in my opinion. Stanley gets on Patricia’s last nerve by micro-managing her the whole time. He has not been on a losing team yet and he doesn’t want to start now. Michelle decides she’s going to make a rain vest over a Spring looking dress. She cringes when she sees the pink fabric Daniel chooses for the jacket and shorts he’s planning to make.
When Tim comes in, he tells Samantha if her heart cut out is done well, it may be just the youthful look Lord and Taylor is looking for. Samantha likes the leather detail of Layana’s dress. Richard thinks her look is a little hard, and Tim doesn’t disagree, but if she can stand by her design, then she should do it. Layana doesn’t think Richard’s design is creative enough. It’s too easy. Tim asks if he’s concerned that the judges may have already seen his look. Richard says no.
Tim tells Patricia her design looks extremely expensive to do. He tells her a sleek Capri pant is a good counterpart to her billowy top and she decides to simplify her look at little. Stanley is making a shift dress and Tim asks him what’s new about his design. Tim suggests a different collar or cowl on his dress. Stanley disagrees and he’s sticking with his gut.
When Tim sees Michelle’s vest he sees gloomy and when he sees her dress sketch he sees joyous. He suggests she lose the vest altogether. Michelle loves the vest because it’s cool and the dress is not her passion, but she knows she has to make it. Tim asks Michelle what she thinks of Daniel’s pink jacket and shorts. She says she not a “pink” girl and that a young, hip girl wouldn’t walk in and buy his design.
Daniel decides to take his Joan Collins jacket apart (which makes him burst into tears) and make a dress instead. He’s sooooo dramatic about it. He takes his frustration out on Michelle and starts calling her a liar about something he says she said. He tells Michelle she said his design has to be for a 20-year old. She says he misinterpreted what she was trying to say. Daniel and Richard are quite the drama queens tonight.
The next morning Daniel tells Michelle it’s all good and of course, all the designers are scrambling to finish their designs. When Tim comes to get them, they are nowhere near ready and Tim tells them it’s going to be a scandalous walk to the runway because the models are not dressed.
The judges tonight are Heidi, Nina, Rachel Roy and guest judge Bonnie Brooks, president of Lord and Taylor, or as Heidi says, “Lort” and Taylor.
I like Patricia’s coral top and Capri pants. It’s what I call a dressy-casual wear. Stanley leans over and tells her it looks pretty. Stanley’s shift dress is also a pretty coral color. It’s very chic and fits perfectly. Patricia tells Stanley “Now that’s what I’m talking about” and gives him a high five.
Richard’s pink and black jersey dress is OK. I’m not excited about it. The fit is nice. OK. I totally do not get Samantha’s dress. I don’t like it. Those colors together are ugly and do not say Spring. It’s not even cute to me.
Layana’s dress is pretty, but nothing to write home about. I like the way the leather in the back looks.
Daniel’s dress is again, OK, but not that exciting. I don’t mind the pink bubble gum color, but it could have been a little shorter or something to make it stand out.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Michelle’s chartreuse dress with the taupe leather trim. I can’t even tell it’s leather, but she says it is. If she had decided to put that black rain vest over it, I would have cried. Have I mentioned that I LOVE Michelle’s dress?
Now what do the judges think? They think Patricia and Stanley’s scores are high enough to keep them in the competition so they are deemed safe. They think Michelle and Daniel are the winners of this challenge. That means Layana, Richard and Samantha are on the bottom again.
Michelle – Heidi would be first in line to buy that dress. It’s not too literal and she loves it. Rachel thinks it’s smart, easy and she can tell Michelle put a lot of thought into it. Nina thinks it’s great looking and likes the presentation of the whole look Michelle put together. Bonnie says it was the best use of the Lord and Taylor accessories and she would love to own the dress.
Daniel – Heidi has seen his dress for years. Nina likes the bold color but thinks it’s a little conservative. It should have a little more detail. Bonnie also loves the color. Rachel tells Daniel to stop thinking and start feeling and he’ll do better. Heidi tells Daniel to thank Michelle for talking him out of the jacket and shorts.
Samantha – Heidi has a hard time seeing the inspiration and thinks it’s very junior. Rachel appreciates all the design elements and calls it youthful and unique. Nina likes that Samantha took a risk, but it was not needed for this particular challenge. She doesn’t hate it. Bonnie just says cute dress.
Richard – Heidi would buy it because it’s an easy no-brainer dress. Nina’s not impressed and calls it very generic. Bonnie says it’s too dressy for day and she’s confused by it. Rachel doesn’t like the styling Richard did for the whole look.
Layana – Nina likes the leather but not the print. She likes the overall design. Bonnie likes the edginess but it may be a little too tough-looking. Rachel likes the modern lines and cut. Heidi thinks it’s a super sexy shape, but the wrong print.
Heidi asks the losers who should go home. Richard says Samantha because of the construction of her dress. Samantha thinks Richard should go because of his simple design. Layana thinks Richard should go because she’d rather see a collection from Samantha.
After the judges have their discussion, we know that Michelle is the obvious winner of this challenge. Either Richard or Samantha will be going home, probably Richard because Nina really doesn’t like his dress at all and Nina usually wins.
Of course, Michelle is declared the winner of this challenge. That was a no-brainer to me. Wow, Nina didn’t get her way this time. Richard is in and Samantha is going home. I’m a little surprised.
