Murders and Lawsuits – the Story of Lisa Hochstein’s Star Island House by NoMoreDrama
Did you ever pull at a thread, and then another, until the entire sweater unraveled? That’s how I feel about the Lisa Hochstein’s Star Island home story. Let’s start the story in the middle. Last season on the Real Housewives of Miami, one of the cast members Lisa Hochstein shared plans for a new home on Star Island, one of the most exclusives neighborhoods in Miami. There are only forty five homes on the man-made island, and the one the Hochstein’s bought is next door to Rosie O’Donnell’s (listed for almost 20 million in 2012 so I’m not sure if she’s still there) and two away from castmate Lea Black’s (purchased for 7.5 million). Lisa’s home has been mis-identified as the Scarface Home – but she cleared that up on twitter a few days ago:
Lea didn’t seem to like her Star Island home much and dissed it on the show. From the satellite photo looks smaller then the surrounding homes and doesn’t have much in the way of landscaping. On the other hand, the mansion the Hochstein’s acquired was iconic. So much so that it caught the eye of a young Kelly Van Laar in 2001. Kelley was driving to Miami Beach across the MacArthur Causeway, when she looked left, saw the iconic mansion, and fell in love. She called her mom and told her that someday she was going to live in a house like that.
Two years later, when Kelley was a waitress in a bar, she met Jake Branam after challenging him to a game of pool. Within three months Jake asked Kelley to move in with him to his beach house. His address: 42 Star Island. The house of Kelley’s dreams. As it turned out, the house Jake lived in was an apartment above the garage. And it wasn’t exactly how Kelly pictured it.
“It was mildewy and moldy, and the toilet rarely worked. Even what the family called “the big house” — the huge white mansion that looked so elegant from afar — had electrical problems, plumbing issues, and rats scurrying around the foundation. Property records showed the family had bought the place for only $250,000 in 1976, and Kelley would often joke that she lived at the “Star Island Trailer Park” or the “Star Island Ghetto,” family members later recalled.”
The big house was owned by Jake’s grandmother. His brother Jeff, who ran the family business, lived there, as well as a half brother Scott, and their friend Sammy nearby. Long story short, Jake had aspirations of running a boat charter business. He and Kelley eventually married, had two children, and Jake opened the business with Scott and Sammy as his first mates. His boat was named “Joe Cool”. One day two men chartered the boat for a trip to the Bahamas. Kelley went on the trip to get some sun and fishing. One of the men was on the run with a whole lot of charges (stealing, child molestation) piling up against him. His real plan was to get the charter to take him to Cuba. When Jake resisted, they shot Jake, Kelley, and the two first mates. The men then jumped on a raft and drifted towards Cuba. Eventually they were picked up, brought back to the US, and convicted of the “Joe Cool” murders. This happened in 2007. This is a link to the whole story. But back out of this rabbit hole and get back to the house.
By 2009 Jake’s grandmother, Jeannette Branam was responsible for a $10 million mortgage on the Star Island home. With the family business in trouble, she couldn’t keep up with the mortgage payments. The bank foreclosed on the house after three years of non-payment, and sold the note for $7.2 million in November, 2011 to Star Island Financial LLC, which was then controlled by Louis Paolino. Branam tried to fight the foreclosure, saying that the bank should have allowed a short sale. To delay things, she filed for bankruptcy. Eventually Lenny Hochstein (Lisa’s husband) gained controlling interest in Star Island Financial.
The Hochsteins discovered the house was in terrible shape, but when they submitted plans to tear it down and build another mansion in its place, they ran into opposition from the Miami Design Preservation League. The MDPL tried to get the mansion listed as a historic property, fearing that all of Miami Beaches iconic architecture was disappearing. The fight was nasty, but eventually the City of Miami Beach gave the Hochstein’s permission to move forward. Lenny Hochstein turned right around and sued the City of Miami Beach (their design review board) for giving the MDPL too much power and causing a delay in obtaining the building permits that violated Hochstein’s rights. The city immediately issued a statement saying the suit was without merit. And right on the heels of the Hochstein’s filing suit, the MDPL filed an appeal against the permits, saying they violated some city code. What a fiasco.
But wait – there’s more. In digging around to find out all this, I uncovered yet another appeal. Seems like the Hochstein’s aren’t finished with Jeannette Branam yet.
She filed bankruptcy in 2011 and tried to get the mortgage written off as debt. Lenny Hochstein won a motion to dismiss the case in August of 2012, essentially removing the foreclosure from the bankruptcy. You can read that here. I’m no legal expert, but it seems as though Jeannette filed an appeal, which is still open. I’ll bet Lenny is wishing he had bought another property. This place seems to be jinxed.
Miami Event Photos by NoMoreDrama
The Real Housewives of Miami are at the beginning point in filming Season Three where their lives are full of parties and public events. I love this time, because there are plenty of tweets and photos to let us know what they are up to. Later in the season things seem to close down a little. I suspect they are required to show up to lunches and dinners to work on their drama – but for now it’s all fun and games and promotion.
Friday night was a big event for Mynt, the nightclub owned by Joanna Krupa’s fiance Ramain Zago.
It looks like Joanna didn’t disappoint. One of Ana Quincoce’s daughters (Bela) tweeted a photo of the pair of them dancing in very skimpy dresses.
And here is Romain hamming it up for the camera:
Lea Black has also tweeted about an upcoming event – Miami Heels. It looks like Lea, Lisa, and Elaine Lancaster will be featured, along with Miss Florida. We’ll have to keep our eye on Miss Florida to see if she’s joining the show.
Andy Cohen will also be in town for a book signing.
“MEET ME IN MIAMI! 4/8 University of Miami Field House 7:30 PM
Lisa Hochstein tweeted that she’ll be there.
Revenge “Victory” by SugarMagnolia
“In the art of war, if you know the enemy and you know yourself, you need not fear the approaching battles. But if you know only yourself, and not your enemy, for every victory there will also be defeat.”
Emily is ensconced at Aiden’s hideaway, fully empowered to take the next step in her revengenda. She is doing research on her former foster mother. She knows that Eli, the prodigal brother, has been in contact with her. Em’s is not one to “let it go” and has not forgotten the torture she endured at that woman’s hands. Emily has searched and found her foster care sibs, and they have rap sheets as rich as the Hamptons….addicts, prostitutes, felons….Aiden is there to listen, but they must not forget their revengenda. Emily is listening, but also plotting. She is more concerned about the Aiden/Daniel/Initiative plan. She makes plans to meet Daniel for lunch. Daniel is doing his own kibosh on the situation, and refers to her as “Mr. Taylor” on the phone. He is trying to protect her and she goes along with it, agreeing to meet him the following day. Back at the Manor, the Queen and her loyal subject, Conrad, are discussing Daniel. Everything is tricky, and dangerous. HBB shows up to illustrate that the King is not doing well in the polls. Conrad is dismissive of the “poor folk” and HBB attempts to sell humility to him, but he is not buying. Jack ASS. Eli shows up for breakfast, and then the doorbell rings, and it’s Emily! Victoria tries to get her out, but is forced to deal with Emily’s thoughts/plans on the new foundation. Queen no likey, but she smiles through the pain. Eli produces a picture of the foster kids. He wants to donate in respect to his roots. While the Queen is writhing in happiness like a pig in shit, Emily is giving Eli some serious stink eye. They agree to seek out their former foster mother all in the guise of the Amanda Clarke Foundation (ACF, as the Queen calls it.) Over at Nolcorp, Nolan is putting the finishing touches on the program only he can code–Carrion. Padma enters with proof, in flash drive, that her father is still alive. (I still don’t trust her). Nolan ensures that she will be safe, but he needs reinforcements–Emily and Aiden. Back at the cottage, Emily is reading Eli the riot act. This is a woman you DONT want to piss off, and Eli has done just that. Emily is taken aback that Eli has his own revenge in mind. He accuses her of forgetting, flashback to being forced into an oven and being locked in, and Emily says, “I remember just fine.” Eli produces a letter from her father, and tells her that the foster mother kept all letters away from her. They were hidden in the safe. He wants to make her pay for her sins.
Aiden’s hideaway–Emily is filling Nolan in on the “letters”. She never knew her foster Ma was keeping them from her, and wants to know if Nolan was privvy to them. He assures that he has handed over everything about her father. These letters are a mystery to him. Emily is having second and third thoughts…Had she known her father was reaching out, maybe she wouldn’t have lit that fire. Maybe she wouldn’t have gone to juvie. Maybe everything would be different….First, she needs to check on Jack, then go with Eli to see the poor woman’s Victoria. Nolan wants her help with Padma, Emily assures him she will be there to help, but in the meantime, Aiden will fill him in. Aiden asks for the program, and Nolan hands him a turtle (Kim Richards–I luuuuuuuuvvv turtles!!!!). Nolan has hidden a GPS in the turtle flash drive. Aiden approves. He breaks the news that Padma and her father are going to have to disappear. Emily has already found new identities and location, and Nolan will have to let her go if he wants to keep her safe.
Back at the Stowaway, Jack is napping next to little Carl when Declan arrives home and wakes him. Jack is trying to find Kenny, with no luck. Jack has all of his info, courtesy Nolan, but still has no leads. Declan wants him to let his thoughts and fear go, but he won’t stop until he gets some answers. Enter Emily. He is still mad at her, but is focusing on his son. He knows that Faux had dirt on Conrad on that laptop, but it was stolen while he was burying his wife. Emily convinces him that Faux wouldn’t have wanted him to fight her battle. Instead she would want them to be happy. Back at Prep School, Declan finds Kenny’s connection, and Declan pick-pockets him to get his phone.
Nolcorp–Nolan is breaking the news to Padma that she will have to disappear with her father. He can’t know where she is going, but when this is all over, he will find her. She loves him, and he loves her. When the Bad Guys are exposed, he will be running down the beach to find her.
Emily and Eli have made a visit to their former foster care mother. Emily fears being recognized, and Eli agrees to abort if she is made as Amanda. They pet her, sing her praises, and earn her trust. Em’s has to take a phone call, and Eli and Bad-Foster-Mom take a walk, and we learn of their plan to get money. Emily is in the basement and revisiting her former torture chamber. She fakes a phone call when Eli and Bad-Mom find her, then jumps in with all dollar signs to approve and support her foster home.
Grayson Manor–Bad Foster Mom is being led through the Manor by the Queen while the E’s (Emily and Eli) follow. BFM knows she is getting a payout from the Graysons. Emily is giving her best eye-roll. After the tour, the Queen is in her chair and explaining the ACF’s funds to BFM. The Graysons will pay her mortgage, and then give her $250k…..annually. BFM is singing Grayson choir.
Stowaway–Declan is breaking the news to Jack that he has offered up the bar for a Grayson press conference. (Kenny is still MIA). HBB shows up with Conrad. Jack surmises the visit by calling out Conrad’s motives. “So you want the poor guy to vote for the rich guy.” He’ll think about it.
Emily and Daniel at the “secret restaurant”. She gets a call from Aiden that ish is about to go down with Padma, but she is too far away to get there in time. (where is the helicopter?) Aiden has it handled, and Nolan is peeing his pants scared. Aiden has his big guns, but cannot get a shot without injuring Padma. Nolan is in his ear every second, he loses his shot and Padma is taken away by Mr. Trask. Foiled….
Padma is shown into an empty room by Trask. Her father is behind one of the doors. While Padma is getting a light shined on her, Jack has found Kenny. Back at the Stowaway, the Grayson’s and BFM are preparing for a press conference. Jack convinces Kenny to come clean about his brother. Kenny admits that his bro taped his meetings with Conrad. Uh-Oh! Press conference–the Queen is on her throne, pontificating on the perils of the foster care system. Eli takes the mic, and puts FCM in the hot seat. He is telling everyone about her torture. She takes control, and lets loose yet another secret; Amanda did not set that fire, he did and let her take the fall for it. Emily is NOT pleased….Nor is the Queen. Victoria vehemently dismisses Eli from the ACF. And that was the easy part; now he has to deal with Emily. Emily confronts him about the fire. She asks him if he knew how different her life could’ve been. Eli tries to explain that he just didn’t want her to leave him.
Back at Revengenda University, Nolan is earning his degree. Aiden and Nolan have tracked the turtle, only to find that it was disposed. Not looking good for Padma….
Jack and Declan are listening to the taped convo’s between the felon Ryan and Conrad. It’s basically a crap shoot. ** Jack is angry and we will probably find out how far he will go at the season finale!**
Back at BFM’s home, all the kids have been taken away. BFM is getting her drink on. Eli arrives and she says, “too bad little Amanda Clarke died before she knows what you did to her.” Eli counters with “as a matter of fact, that’s why I’m here.”
At the cottage, Em’s is home and waiting for Nolan. He is uncharacastically solemn. Padma is gone, he lost her. Em’s promises that she will be there no matter what happened/has happened. Her word. Eli is back, at least on the phone. He wants to make sure they are square–BFM is in the hole in which she used to punish them.
the Cottage–Eli shows up with a confession letter from BFM. David’s letters were sold years ago, to a thirsty author (enter Treadwell). He apologizes. She forgives.
Jack wants to meet with the King. Conrad shooes HBB out to speak privately with Jack. Jack accepts his offer of “Joe the Plumber”, They shake hands, and it is a done deal.
Nolcorp–Nolan is doing his hacking magic. Not going so well as the “falcon” is the only person on earth that is better at hacking than he is. Trouble!
Grayson Global–Daniel is “faking” a convo with Emily (he is still naive and thinks he can outsmart the Initiative) He receives an envelope containing 2 bullets and a picture of he and Emily at the secret spot. His fears are real now–he loves her and stands to lose her. He shouldn’t worry too much, because our revengenista has an ace in her pocket. And she goes to visit him….
Emily goes to see Treadwell. (Remember, he is in prison by Emily’s design and has agreed to stay there until her revengenda works to his benefit.) He drops a bomb, one that even Emily doesn’t want to believe. The Queen has another son. Duh Duh Duuuhhhhh
“Mob Wives” By Detox
Welcome back to “Mob Wives”!
This week, Love sees her doctor about effects she is still suffering from a head injury she sustained in a car accident a couple of years ago. Karen and Ramona finally leave Arizona and make their way back home to Staten Island. Drita visits with Carla at Carla’s home and tries to sound the alarm regarding the fact that Love is on the verge of beating her up for allegedly constantly talking trash about her all over Staten Island. Carla denies it and is totally nonchalant about the whole thing, which worries Drita. Renee meets more than once with her good friend, Jiton, to discuss a shoe line business they have partnered up to start called “Mob Candy.” Drita and Big Ang commiserate over having husbands that are basically good-for-nothing when it comes to doing anything practical or handy. Ramona meets with a wedding planner to “The Mob” to plan her “shotgun wedding without a pregnancy.” Karen gets support about her father’s case from her cousin, Rena. Carla gets a facial from her father-in-law while bantering with Joe, who has dropped by to chat with Carla while she gets pampered. Drita and Love get manicures and pedicures together, and Love tells Drita that, in addition to talking smack about her all the time, Carla also stole Love’s business logo and gave it to Joe and his father to use as the logo for their skin care business. Renee and A.J. go rock-climbing indoors. Some of the women get together and go drinking and clubbing in honor of Love’s birthday. Carla throws a “Wine by Wives” party. At the party, Drita lets Carla know that one of Love’s other issues with Carla has to do with the stealing of her business logo. Carla is appalled and alleges that she has no idea what Love is talking about. She also alleges that Love is “f*ckin’ NUTS!!”
Are you guys ready? O.K. Here we go!
Love And Her Head Injury
Love goes to see her neurologist. She interviews that she was in a very bad car accident 2 years ago, and she is checking in with this doctor because of injuries she sustained in that accident.
Love reminds the doctor that she was rear-ended by someone, which caused her car to then spin out into the path of an 18-wheeler, which then also hit her vehicle (Yikes!!). She tells him that she is still experiencing “sharp and piercing” pain in her neck.
The doctor asks Love if she has noticed any irritability or shortness of temper. Love says, “Yes.” She tells the doctor that she simply no longer has the patience for B.S. (I was at that point in my late 20’s, and I did not suffer a head injury). She then tells the doctor that there are times that she has episodes of rage that are so intense that she blacks out and then has no recollection of what she does when she is in this type of blackout (Scary!).
The doctor tells her that she has “Post-Concussion Syndrome.” He explains that this causes Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder-like symptoms, including anger and irritability. Love interviews that she has a bad temper, and she does not really want to hurt anyone. Despite this, she notes that “it is kind of out of my control.” The doctor tells Love to do her best to try and avoid any type of altercations (The PERFECT thing to do in order to ensure this is to join a reality show filled with other women [Insert sarcasm here]).
Karen and Ramona have their bags packed to finally leave Arizona. Karen interviews that, despite the emotional roller coaster, the trip turned out to be a very good thing in the end.
Karina is there, and Karen is telling her how much she is going to miss her. She interviews that she always feels bad about leaving Karina.
Karen mentions that she is sending her dog, Ozzy, back to her mother’s house with Karina to live there (Thank God! That poor dog needs people around him who are going to bathe him and pay attention to him and just provide him with some companionship. Yay for you, Ozzy!!).
Dave arrives at Karen’s house. He tells Karen that he is very glad she came and that they were able to work everything out. He vows to refrain from hiding anything from her in the future. And he says that he is glad that the lines of communication between them are once again open. Ramona interviews that Karen is really fortunate to still have the father of her child in both her and her child’s life, unlike her ex-husband and the father of her children, who is nowhere to be found.
Karen interviews that she is going to seriously look into re-opening her father’s case to see if they can find a way to get him released from prison earlier than anticipated. She says that she knows it will probably be a long road, but she is willing to walk that long road until the end.
Drita Tries To Warn Carla
Drita drops by Carla’s house to pay her a visit. She interviews that she really needs to talk to Carla about “the Love situation.” And she does just that when she gets right to the point shortly after arriving at Carla’s house. She tells Carla that Love has an issue with her because she keeps hearing that Carla is talking smack about her all over Staten Island.
Carla responds that she does not even know Love and has never even met her (Is this a denial? I mean, you can still talk smack about someone you do not know or have never even met. People do it all the time. If I had NOT talked smack about someone, my first response would be, “NO, I did NOT talk smack about that person…EVER.”). Carla interviews that all of this drama with the women is “annoying.” She also says that “Love needs to check her sources.”
Drita says that Love thinks that Carla may have a problem with her because she dated Carla’s present boyfriend before Carla did. Carla denies this. She interviews that her ex-boyfriend “banged Love before I even met him” (Umm….And…?? How many women and/or men are jealous of ex-girlfriends and ex-boyfriends of their present spouse/partner, and they have never even met him/her? Jealousy is often irrational. I am not saying that Carla IS jealous of Love because Love once dated Carla’s boyfriend. I am simply pointing out that Carla’s constantly saying that she has never even met Love in response to the allegations against her does not really mean anything.). Drita interviews that she is really concerned for Carla because she just does not seem to be taking the situation with Love seriously at all. This concerns Drita because she knows that Love has a propensity for beating the crap out of people like it’s nothing (I’m o.k. with Love, and I cannot stand Carla. However, I DO think that Love is way too old to still be resorting to violence. Don’t get me wrong. I have to shamefully admit that I would LOVE seeing someone smack the hell out of Carla just once. However, that type of behavior is not only inappropriate, it is also ILLEGAL!).
Carla tells Drita that, whenever any one of the other women talk sh*t about her, she wants Drita to be loyal to her and to take up for her by telling the other women, “Carla is my friend, and I really don’t want to hear you talking crap about her.” Carla interviews and says, “Maybe Love’s just jealous of me like the rest of these girls are because they’re always talking about ME.” (I just CAN’T with this woman. Carla, maybe they ARE jealous of you. You could have a point. However, have you ever stopped to consider that many of the other women have issues with you and express these issues about you behind your back – and often to your FACE when you happen to be around them – because you seriously DESERVE it because of your own messed up actions and behavior? I’m sure a thought like that never even enters Carla’s mind. They’re just “jealous” of her. O.K., Carla…whatever…you…say. *Sigh*).
Carla then tells Drita that when it comes to Love or any of the other women who have problems with her, “I DON’T CARE!!” Drita interviews that Carla’s, “ ‘I Don’t Give A F*ck Attitute’ is NOT good for her health!!”
Renee interviews that she is going to Brooklyn to see her good friend, Jiton, who just opened a clothing and shoe store. She says that she and Jiton have been friends for about 10 years. She notes that Jiton is ½ Black and ½ Sicilian, and they have similar background insofar as being connected to “the lifestyle.” She says that, like her, Jiton grew up “all Mobbed up.”
While in the store, Renee admires the shoes. She tells Jiton that she really wants to develop a shoe line called “Mob Candy.” Renee interviews and says that she is now ready to get this business going because she has gotten her “life more together.” She says she envisions her shoe line as very glamorous and over-the-top, just like her personality. She also says that she wants to be reminded of the beautiful goumadas (mistresses of the married Mob men) she saw growing up every time she sees a pair of shoes from her line.
Jiton tells Renee that she is definitely interested in partnering with Renee on this shoe line, and she will work with her own designer and come up with some shoe ideas for the line. Renee interviews that she is grateful that Jiton waited for her to get her life together so they could start the shoe line together.
Renee tells Jiton that their shoe line slogan should be, “Buy ‘em, or we’ll come and chop you the f*ck up!!” and laughs heartily.
Our Husbands Are Basically Good For Nothing
Drita is at her new store overseeing things with the reconstruction and remodeling. Big Ang, who works nearby at “The Drunken Monkey,” takes a break and goes over to Drita’s new store to chat. Drita interviews that she is super-excited to be working across the street from Big Ang.
After Big Ang drops by, she and Drita stand around and chat. Drita tells Big Ang that her store is going to be “‘old school’ with a pay phone and a jukebox.” She also notes that she is going to be using a lot of black and white in the store (It sounds like it’s going to be cute and fun).
Drita changes the subject and informs Big Ang that she had a talk with Carla about the Love situation, “but Carla is STUBBORN.” Big Ang just nods her head in a way that lets Drita know that she understands what she is saying.
While chatting with Ang, Drita takes a call from Lee. She tells him to call one of his friends to get a security camera in her store that she can also monitor from her home. When she hangs up, she notes the fact that Lee is basically “useless” when it comes to any practical things having to do with the remodeling or anything else having to do with the business (or in general).
Big Ang commiserates and says that Neil is the same way. She says that, other than “when it comes to drinking beer or picking up garbage, Neil sucks!!” (LOL. Well, alrighty then, Ang. I still like Neil, though. *Shrug*). Drita says it is the SAME way with Lee. She interviews and says that Lee can’t do anything handy at all. Big Ang interviews that Drita’s opening her store is a good thing “because she won’t have to depend on a GUY!!” (I have to admit that I am very tickled that hardened tough guy, Lee, who has robbed banks and done 2 prison stints, has no idea how to do anything handy or practical. I am also amused that big ol’ Neil is allegedly the same way.).
Ramona Plans Her “Shotgun Wedding”
Ramona brings her 2 daughters to some wedding-themed shop owned by someone called, “Butch, The Wedding Impresario.” She tells Butch that she will be having a home wedding because she will only be notified 48 hours beforehand of the decision regarding whether her incarcerated fiance’ will get bail or not. She interviews that this particular wedding planner “is used to planning weddings for guys in ‘the lifestyle.’ ” Ramona further explains to Butch that her incarcerated fiancé, if he does get bail, must be accompanied by 2 Armed Guards, as per the Federal Government’s orders.
Butch responds that he knows how to handle this, and it is no problem. Ramona interviews that, as conditions for his bail, Joe will have to be under House Arrest and have 2 Armed Guards nearby at all times.
Ramona interviews and notes that every girl has a wedding planned in her head (Not THIS girl). She admits that there are still some people who are not supportive of her upcoming wedding, but she does not care. She says, “Come happy. Come sad. This wedding is GOING to happen regardless.” She knows that her wedding is not a fairytale, but she says it is enough for her. Her love for her fiancé has not changed. And she is still getting married despite her “negative Nellie’s.”
Karen’s Unbreakable Bond With Her Cousin, Rena
Karen goes to a place called “Tommy’s Pizza” to visit her cousin, Rena (who either owns the place or simply works there. I am not quite sure). She interviews that her cousin, Rena, is the one person in her life that she “trusts implicitly, hands down.” (Unlike Ramona, I think Rena is actually Karen’s cousin by blood).
Rena wants to know all about Karen’s trip to Arizona. Karen tells Rena that she met Dave’s new girlfriend, and she now feels comfortable with the situation.
Rena then asks Karen about her father. Karen says that he is in “the hole,” and she has not talked to him in a while. She then tells Rena that she wants to challenge her father’s sentence and re-open his case. Karen interviews that, after her father cooperated with the Government, Rena’s father and Peter Gotti supposedly sent someone to kill Karen’s father. Despite that fact, she and Rene NEVER let what happens between their fathers come between them or negatively affect their relationship. She explains that neither of them blame the other or hold any ill will because they both understand that, for each of their fathers, their particular decisions were all part of the “business” of being in “The Mob.” And it was nothing really personal.
Karen tells Rena that she wants to re-open her father’s case, but she is afraid that her doing this might anger the Government and cause her father to suffer further repercussions and have to spend more time in the hole as a result. She also says she is afraid her doing this might cause her father to “get lost in the system.” Despite her fears, however, she feels like she should possibly try if it can result in her father being let out of prison early. She interviews that a person can NEVER get TIME back.
Rena is totally supportive, and she tells Karen to keep on fighting for her father.
Carla Gets Pampered
Carla interviews that she is treating herself to a Spa Day, which includes a facial. She is shown getting a facial from an older gentleman. It turns out that this older gentleman is Joe’s father and her father-in-law (soon to be her EX-father-in-law), Dr. Ferragamo. Carla interviews and says that Dr. Ferragamo was a gynecologist for many years, and he even delivered both of Drita’s daughters. She says he is now retired and is presently working for a skincare business he opened called “Angel Skin.” She says that the business belongs to both Joe and his Dad. She also notes that, despite the fact that she and Joe are getting a divorce, she is still very close to Dr. Ferragamo.
While Carla is getting her facial, Joe arrives, and the 2 of them start joking back and forth. At one point, Carla says that she is “so glad” that she had her kids with Joe (That’s a very nice thing to say). She interviews and says that she and Joe will always have each other’s backs despite their divorce and despite their disagreements. Somehow, during her interview, Carla changes the subject to Love and interviews that she does not have time to sit there and trash-talk “like Love does because I have a LIFE, unlike Love!! That’s why she is always in everybody else’s business – because she has no life!”
Drita And Love Get Mani’s and Pedi’s
Drita and Love meet up at a nail salon to get manicures and pedicures. While they are getting their nails done, Love tells Drita that her birthday is coming up, and she is having a “Girls’ Night” to celebrate. She invites Drita to attend, and Drita agrees to do so. Drita interviews that she enjoys Love’s company.
Changing the subject, Drita tells Love that she told Carla about the fact that Love has issues with Carla because of all of the things she keeps hearing Carla is allegedly saying about her behind her back. Love wants to know what Carla said. Drita tells Love that Carla denied everything.
Love tells Drita that she thinks Carla is lying, and one of the things she recently heard that Carla has been going around saying about her is that she supposedly cheated on one of her former fiancés. She asks, “Who is CARLA to judge ME?” And she points out that Carla has a bad reputations for sleeping with every Tom, Dick and Harry herself, and because of that, has absolutely no room to talk about her or, for that matter, to judge ANYBODY in that regard. Love interviews and says that it is just “one thing on top of another on top of another” when it comes to Carla.
Love tells Drita that another problem she has with Carla is the fact that she “stole” Love’s business logo of angel wings and gave them to Joe to use as the logo for the skincare business he now has with his father. She shows Drita the angel wings tattoo she has on one of her wrists, and she says she has had it forever. She also reminds Drita that these angel wings are the logo for the makeup line she has had for a few years now (The makeup line is called “Veritas Cosmetics.”). Drita looks shocked and simply listens without saying anything.
Love then asks Drita to try and get Carla to be HONEST about her trash-talking of Love. She explains that she could possibly have respect for Carla if she tells the truth. If she is NOT going to tell the truth about all of the trash-talking she is doing, then Love says that Carla “should SHUT her f*ckin’ mouth!!” Drita interviews that Love seems convinced about the stories she is hearing. So, she does not know what (or who) to believe.
Love tells Drita that she would just talk to Carla herself, but she does not want to get frustrated with Carla if Carla continues to lie and act like she has no idea what Love is talking about. She says that this will make her go ballistic.
Rock Climbing With Renee And A.J.
Renee interviews that, in an effort to get more Mother-Son quality time, she has decided to take A.J. rock-climbing at one of those rock-climbing places. She says that she and A.J. need to spend more time together doing different and positive things.
Renee and A.J. end up having a good time rock-climbing, although Renee is a little fearful at first.
After they are finished rock-climbing, Renee and A.J. sit down to chat. Renee tells A.J. that this is a good way for them to bond. He just looks at her without really saying anything (Typical A.J. response, or non-response).
She then changes the subject and tells A.J. that she wants a different and better life for them. She also says that she does not want to visit him in prison. A.J. assures Renee that he will not be going to jail (I have my fingers crossed that this turns out to be true.).
Renee then tells A.J. that she is very focused on her businesses because she wants to be able to support the both of them. A.J. tells Renee that he is glad that she is focusing on her businesses, but he wants to make his OWN money and support himself without her help (How admirable!). Renee interviews that she has a “GREAT son!” (And she does).
A.J. ends the conversation by telling Renee that he is proud of her, and he thinks she is doing great (Aww, that’s very sweet, A.J.!!).
The Women Celebrate Love’s Birthday “In Da Club”
It is Love’s “40 something” birthday, and she has invited Karen, Ramona and Drita to celebrate with her by joining her for drinking and clubbing. Karen interviews that it’s been a while since all the girls have gone clubbing together.
While they are sitting down in the club, Drita asks Karen about Dave. Karen tells Drita that she and Dave got everything straight, and she is now comfortable with his new girlfriend and with Karina spending time with her.
Karen then changes the subject and tells Drita she is dating a new guy named Storm, and she has invited him to meet up with them at the club tonight. Ramona interrupts and says that maybe Karen and “Music Man” (her nickname for Storm) “can make music together in the corner.” Karen interviews that Ramona’s snippy comments have been irritating her. Likewise, Ramona interviews that Karen has been “irking” the heck out of HER! (These 2 have really been getting into it this season. I don’t have any sisters, but I do have a huge family. Based on the interactions I have seen in my own HUGE extended family, these 2 fight like sisters).
Eventually, Storm arrives, and Karen introduces him to all of the other women. He warmly greets everyone. Karen interviews and says that “if anyone can survive these bitches, they’re good to go!” Love interviews and say that Storm is good looking and nicely-dressed. She says, “I approve to say the least.” She notes that Drita is back together with Lee, Ramona is getting married, and Karen now has this new guy, Storm. She says that she wants some action too.
All of the women and Storm end up having a good time in the club dancing.
Mob Candy Meeting
Renee interviews that she is now going to have a meeting about her shoe line with her friend Jiton, Jiton’s husband and one of Jiton’s shoe designers.
At the meeting, Renee looks at pictures of possible shoes to use in her line. She and the others discuss each of the pairs of shoes, and Renee does a good job offering her input. She interviews that she is feeling really good about herself because her brain is focused and engaged, “and I’m not STONED!!” She says she is really happy that there were sketches and actual prototypes of the shoes to possibly use in her line. She notes that this made her “so excited.”
The different pairs of shoes brought out are definitely over-the-top and a bit outrageous. They are adorned with things like jewels and feathers and clear pieces of plastic designed to look like chandeliers hanging off of the shoes. Renee interviews that this is the first time she is venturing outside of her family and not asking her father for financial support. She says that this is her showing her independence and showing that “Renee Is In Charge!”
At the end of the meeting, Renee profusely thanks her friend, Jiton, for waiting for her to get her life together instead of starting her own shoe line without partnering with Renee. The two of them hug.
Carla Throws A “Wines By Wives” Party
Carla has become a member of something called “Wines by Wives,” and she is throwing a party in connection with this organization (For those of you that watch “The Real Housewives of Orange County,” you may remember that this is some kind of wine club that Vicky and Tamra have also partnered to promote). She interviews that she is having a wine tasting, and she has invited various friends, including Drita and Big Ang, and some of her family members.
Big Ang arrives with Neil. She interviews and says that the party is very classy, and “Carla looked beautiful.” Drita arrives alone. She interviews that she needs to put out this fire between Carla and Love.
Carla interviews that this party is so “her” because it is “classy with no trash around.” Drita interviews that she hates to be a party pooper, but she has to bring up Love’s name and the subject of the issues Love is presently having with Carla. To that end, Drita tells Carla that she spoke to Love again. She notes that Love continues to say that keeps hearing from several different people that Carla talks trash about her.
Carla responds by saying, “These girls are PATHETIC!! PATHETIC!!” She then says, “I don’t KNOW Love. I never met her in my f*ckin’ life! Tell her to get her f*ckin’ stories straight!” Big Ang tells Carla that Love has told her the same thing more than once.
Drita then tells Carla that Love says that Carla stole the angel logo she uses for her business and gave it to Joe and his father to use for their skin care business. Carla looks floored, and she swears that she never even knew Love HAD a business (Carla has tweeted crap about Love before she ever even became a cast member. So, I think Carla is lying about trash-talking Love. I also think Carla is lying about not knowing ANYTHING about Love, including the fact that Love has had her own makeup business for a few years now. Staten Island is apparently very small. I don’t necessarily believe that Carla stole Love’s logo, but I definitely do not believe she is as innocent and as “in the dark” about Love as she is claiming to be)!!
Carla screams, “Is she f*ckin’ NUTS, this girl??!!” She says she does not know anything about Love or her business. She also notes that “Joe don’t’ know this girl from a hole in the wall!!” She interviews and says that Love is “sick!” Big Ang interviews that, at first, she thought what Love said about the logo might be true, but now she’s not so sure. She now totally believes Carla. Similarly, Drita interviews that Carla’s response has cured her of any doubts about Carla. Carla interviews that Love “is NUTS!!”
Carla asks Drita if she ever believed anything Love said. Drita is honest and says that she did not WANT to believe anything Love was saying, but Love seemed so sincere that she did not know WHAT to believe.
Carla is upset with this, and Drita asks, “What do you want me to do??!!” Carla tells Drita that she can be cool with Love, but “if she comes at me, I’m going to go right back at her!!” She also tells Drita not to worry about her when it comes to Love.
A.J. tells Renee to back off. Renee interviews that because A.J.’s father is not around, he thinks Renee has no say-so or control over certain situations anymore.
Carla discusses Love with one of her friends and says, “Bring it on, Love!!” She interviews that Love “is going to get caught up in her web of lies!”
Karen and Ramona bicker at a party.
At what looks like the same party, Love loses it on someone and screams, “Mind your business!!” at the top of her lungs.
Big Ang interviews and says, “I think Love is OUT of her MIND!!”

Cast Blogs by Stars99
Sorry guys, Adrienne is just too busy riding off into the sunset with a Maloof hoof up her a*** to bother to write a blog for us this week.
***RANT WARNING*** Okay, I’m going to talk about this here, since it’s not mentioned anywhere else in anyone’s blogs. Brandi, I’m soooooooooooooooooooo mad at you right now! You’ve made me come to the conclusion that…(No, I can’t even say it…okay, okay… deep breaths…) Adrienne was right! Dagnabit! YOU Brandi, never did receive a letter directly from Adrienne’s attorneys, your friend Geneva received a letter. Adrienne didn’t directly threaten you with a lawsuit – she threatened to sue Geneva (who used to work for Adrienne) whom she allegedly felt had divulged the information to you. Your name was mentioned as part of her threat to Geneva. The fact that Geneva’s attorney must have called your attorney which resulted in you having to fork out some money is somewhat immaterial to me. There was no way on earth that Adrienne’s attorneys knew who you used as your attorney… especially on this matter. They certainly wouldn’t have called you for their name/number… The first piece of correspondence about a potential lawsuit is sent directly to the person who is being sued – then that person obtains whatever legal representation they want. Their chosen attorney then responds to the original letter on behalf of their client requiring that all future communication go through their office. Litigation is not a passive-aggressive action – Lawyers generally don’t send a letter that threatens a lawsuit to one person when they are actually intending to sue someone else. That’s just crazy speak. Brandi you lied about this subject. Perhaps you thought you might get sued down the road – but you never did explain that it was Geneva who was the recipient of the letter. You had everyone believing a lawsuit against you was imminent and you never corrected their assumption, unless it’s laying somewhere on an editor’s floor. SHAME ON YOU!
And now… now I’m forced…(deep sigh, gulp) to officially apologize to Adrienne for SOME of what I have written in the past about this subject. Omg… I think my head just exploded! ***End of Rant***
Brandi starts her blog by commenting on how anxious she was over this reunion – and that she actually had to do some “breathing exercises” to calm her down before the beginning of the taping. Yeah, well, I’m doing some breathing exercises myself, right now… grrrrrrrr…
“It seemed that Yolanda was the first to be in the hot seat. I would first like to say that Yolanda IS a straight shooter and doesn’t try to stir the pot, but really tries to help people resolve things. I love Yolanda and have never sat around gossiping about the other women with her. That just isn’t our speed. I called Yolanda after Adrienne’s party to see how it went and she as any good friend would do told me what went down with Marisa. I thanked her and said I would take it up with Marisa. Funny enough it went down EXACTLY as Yolanda said and nothing like what Marisa tried to make it seem.”
I love me some Yo – but her actions sometimes do tend to “stir the pot” but I think it’s because she wants people to tell the truth about other people to their face instead of only sneakily saying things behind their back. This does sometimes result in stuff getting stirred up… but that’s not necessarily a bad thing – After all, you gotta stir the pot so you don’t get burned.
“When Kyle started in with Yolanda I really thought, “Wow this is a bit much knowing she had just flown in from her treatment in Florida.” So of course I defended her. Yolanda was an amazing friend to Kim in Paris so it really pissed me off when Kim started to have a go at Yo also. Did I get a little bitchy with some of my comments? I did, but it was like Richards sister tag-team hour against Yo.”
Yeah, what exactly did Yo do to Kim to make Kim so cranky with her? We know Yo carried Kim’s crap around the airport on their way back… so I’m just so confused. Maybe the Richard sisters knew they had to ramp up the drama at the Reunion or else one or both could be out of job next year?
“I wasn’t there when Kyle and Kim say Yolanda trashed Lisa but if had actually happened that way I PROMISE it would have made the cut to our TV screens. I 100 percent believe Yolanda, the other two women have such a history of back-stabbing and twisting peoples words that I don’t even have to see it to know the truth.”
Well, unless it was done out of “earshot” of the cameras. I think it’s important to know context of words, too – since we really have seen people take a portion of a sentence and take it completely out of context. Not that I would ever do that…nope, nope, nope…
“As you will soon see the “sisters” tag team moments come and go as the flip on each other. I understand that Kyle wants to be Lisa’s best friend, but I don’t think trying to take her other friends out one by one by throwing us under the bus is the way to win Lisa back.”
I’m not sure why Kyle wants to be Lisa’s best friend so badly. I mean, she’s coming off to me as incredibly needy and Lisa obviously doesn’t really have the time of day for her. I mean, really, who begs someone to be their friend past 2nd grade when you’re running for class president? Brandi goes on to say she thought Taylor’s apology to Yo was sincere and that she’s not taking more issue with Taylor for dating a married man because she doesn’t have all the facts. It seems like Taylor has been serving some Kool-aid… I’m abstaining because a leopard doesn’t easily change its’ spots. Spots… now that reminds me of someone… who is that again? Oh yeah, The Human Stain… Oops, out of sight, out of mind.
Sorry guys, Camille is just too busy serving Allison Dubois a gargantuan drink and wondering why if Allison was so psychic that she didn’t warn her about her impending divorce and her demise on this show to bother to write a blog for us this week.
Kim starts out her blog by saying it was a surprise to her that Lisa and Ken were renewing their vows that particular evening. Perhaps some of the cast really regarded this party as an end of the year party wrapped up in house warming giftwrap. It kind of makes Adrienne’s appearance less egregious… and while I’m not apt to give Adrienne the benefit of the doubt on anything, I just can’t imagine anyone intentionally attending a vow renewal ceremony only hours after being served with divorce papers. Holy cow… I think my head just exploded again.
“Listening to Kyle discussing Brandi and Adrienne’s situation over and over I guess something happened. Something deep-rooted inside me came out and I admit I over-reacted! Once again I feel sorry because this should not have happened on Lisa’s big night! It’s important to know this has nothing to do with the way I feel about Brandi because we are in a good place today. However this was about me and something I needed to work on, and the relationship with my sister! I wanted her to acknowledge the pain I had been in! It was certainly not the place, but I became oversensitive. Sometimes in early sobriety certain feelings come out and trigger guilt, sadness, pain, or anger. That is what happened! And it even caught me off-guard!”
I’m glad that you acknowledge that you overreacted. I just think that it’s so weird that you feel you have to beg Kyle to understand your pain. Kim – she’s not ever going to understand your pain. She’s just not and she doesn’t want to – so you’re going to have to build a bridge and get over it. Most people have family members who aren’t interested in the nuances of their life. Teach Kyle how to hear you – but don’t use your sobriety as a one size fits all scape goat for all of your reactions.
“It seemed at Lisa’s home that night Ken and Lisa were upset with Adrienne for not saying hello, and on the other hand Adrienne was upset with them for not seeing how she was doing! I understand why Lisa was upset after Adrienne left. To go down and celebrate 30 years of a perfect marriage when our friends marriage is over?!? That’s tough. But it was their day! They’ve earned it! They are a TEAM! They’ve worked hard and loved hard! And 30 years is a long time. . So CELEBRATE and they did!!”
Married for 30 years? There should be a freakin’ award for that! At the risk of being shunned for life, I, too – have been known to inconspicuously enter or leave a party. While I always talk to the hosts at some point – if they’re busy doing something, I just don’t think it has to be the moment I enter the door. I just wait for them to have a quiet moment and then I interrupt them… lol. But I do I often sneak out of a party. Don’t judge me!
“Ken looked handsome. Lisa looked stunning. We should all feel so lucky and blessed! I felt honored to be a part of such a special day! But I have to say my favorite part was something you didn’t see. When I was getting ready to leave, Lisa asked me to stay and she and Pandora sat at the piano together. Wow can Lisa sing or what!?! The two of them so happy singing with Ken walking around holding a stack of towels admiring his beautiful girls! I could see how PROUD he felt. That was a beautiful sight and my favorite part of the evening!”
Awww, kumbaya… perhaps this will be part of the gratuitous “lost footage” episode.
Blog 1 – Season Finale:
“What had started out as a nice evening was quickly turning sour.”
What, too many lemons?
“Since my dinner party when Faye told Brandi off regarding the Adrienne situation, things have been tense between Lisa, Faye and Brandi. Understandably so. “
You mean the dinner party where you set-up Faye to attack Brandi?
“After the vodka party at Adrienne’s, Yolanda called Brandi and Lisa to tell them about what Faye and Marisa had said. As you saw at the vodka party, I did not partake in that conversation. I said that I did NOT think Brandi would sleep with a married man. I also said in my interview that I did NOT see with my own eyes Brandi having sex in my daughter’s bathroom.”
Yes, Yo called Brandi and Lisa to tell them what Marisa specifically said about them behind their back. While you, on the other hand, after Brandi divulged the big “S” secret about Adrienne, instead of directly calling Adrienne to tell her about it – you chose to meet Faye for lunch to talk about it. Faye was not part of the situation at all – yet you seem to think nothing of getting her involved. I’ve got to give it to you that you said you didn’t think Brandi would sleep with a married man – and I’m sure you were way too busy during your party to keep track of Brandi’s antics. I’m actually hard pressed to specifically identify a place where I think Brandi would not have sex, if I’m honest…
“I have been blamed for things that Faye has said because she’s a friend of mine. I have my own opinions and Faye has hers. I had ZERO issues with Brandi, except for what she said about Adrienne. Brandi knew I felt it was wrong and that was that. I never asked Faye to say ANYTHING to Brandi or about her! It is beyond frustrating to have people think things about you that are just not true.”
You’re right – you shouldn’t be blamed for things that Faye says – as if you could actually control what she says. However, you don’t do yourself any favors by sitting back and watching Faye froth at the mouth like the rabid dog she is as she bites everyone using strategic pieces of misinformation that you have given her.
“I know Faye has made some harsh comments, but I can tell you, that is not the Faye that my family knows. I am not defending her actions. Only she can explain why she said certain things. I can say that the Faye I know is a kind and compassionate person — nothing like the Faye we have seen on the show. When I saw the girls huddled in a corner getting into it, not once, but twice, I stayed FAR away. I did NOT want to get into any disagreements with anyone. My anxiety had been at an all-time high and there was no way I was getting near that!”
Of course you stayed in a galaxy far, far away. Only real friends would want to intervene to make sure their friends are okay during a verbal altercation.
“Later, when someone finally called me over and told me what was going on, I really did not know what to say. I was taken aback. Lisa said in her interview, “Here’s your chance Kyle. Back me up.” Again!?! I wasn’t even standing there when Faye and Lisa got into it. It seems Lisa’s anger was misdirected.”
Actually, Lisa’s anger is very directed – right at you.
“I don’t want to be dragged into every fight. I don’t feel that I should have to be — especially between two friends of mine. When Camille and I had our fight at the table in New York City (Season 1) Lisa didn’t speak up at the table. I never held that against her. I understood that it’s difficult to get between friends. We are all strong women who run our businesses, our homes, our lives, and take care of our children…I think we can handle a disagreement with a friend. Besides, Lisa already had Brandi and Yolanda at her side.”
You’re right – you shouldn’t have to fight every fight – only the ones in which you’re directly or indirectly responsible. The thing is – you’re the one who is bringing Faye into the mix and you’re forever on my poo poo list for that. You’ve known her for over 20 years, you HAD to know what kind of person she was, no? You’re the one who arms Faye with misinformation, winds her up and watches smugly as she wreaks havoc everywhere.
“The night got worse as Kim was angry with me for thinking that I forgot that Brandi had hurt her first. I didn’t want Kim to feel that I didn’t think that was important. That was a very difficult time for Kim and the comment that Brandi made hurt her deeply. However, Kim and Brandi had made up and I didn’t feel we needed to go down that road again. Then Adrienne walks in looking like I have NEVER seen her — incredibly distraught. I was so emotional at this point I was about to snap. I have cried more times this season then I care to count.”
You weren’t listening to your sister. Period.
Blog 2 – Reunion Show:
“I had been dreading this day for months. Fighting and rehashing every disagreement we’ve all had gives me anxiety. All of our faces looked so tense. Especially mine!”
Yeah, hope you guys are getting paid well for showing up.
“It was strange that Camille and Adrienne were not there. I was disappointed that Adrienne didn’t show up to explain her side of things. When Brandi first made the comment, everyone felt bad for Adrienne. Then she stopped coming around and lawyers got involved and that started swaying people’s opinions. I wish she would have shown up and let her voice be heard. We all felt let down. I don’t think she has handled the situation well from the beginning. If she had, there would have been a very different outcome. It is sad that she won’t be back for Season 4. We all went through a lot together and the good times we shared will be missed. Now, on to what happened at the Reunion…”
Camille and Adrienne who?
“Yolanda and I didn’t really spend any time together this season. Although she was always invited to the girls’ and my events, she didn’t always show up. I had no problem with Yolanda and thought she seemed nice, although cool and standoffish. Then I heard she was saying things about me behind my back.”
Actually, you spent time in her lemon orchard hearing about the master cleanse. Actually, you attended a dinner party at her house. Actually, you went on at least two trips together.
“At the Reunion she was saying that I never made an effort with her. In spite of her being cold toward the group, I was making an effort. I invited her to my parties (on and off camera) asked her to dinner (off camera) and sent her flowers when I heard she was feeling down. I also called her to talk to her about her symptoms before she knew she had Lyme disease. I thought perhaps she was suffering from fibromyalgia, like I do, and was troubleshooting with her as to what it could be. I didn’t know her well, but shared with her what I have gone through with fibromyalgia in an attempt to get to know each other better.”
I don’t know if she was cold towards the group – I think she was quite taken aback by the group. She was the new kid on the block and you guys didn’t bake her a lemon pie to welcome her to the neighborhood. It does sound like you did make an effort to reach out to her, though. It’s too bad she didn’t remember that part…
“It seems all that was forgotten the day of the Reunion.”
It seems like most of you have selective memory on Reunion days.
“When she said she was at my home and I didn’t offer her a glass of water, I was shocked. We were doing a photo shoot for a magazine and they used my home for the shoot. We had an entire set up of food and drinks for the cast and crew. Most of us didn’t even know Yolanda was there until way later. She never came in the house and stayed away from everyone. We were all getting ready together inside and didn’t know why Yolanda didn’t want to come in. At the Reunion, Brandi said that Yolanda had come from the hospital to take these pictures and was angry we didn’t come out. I had never heard that until the Reunion. It makes more sense that she was angry about not feeling well and less about me offering a glass of water.”
It almost seems like she drove up and wasn’t well enough to come into your house. Perhaps someone was supposed to tell you she was there – but the message never got to you? Why wasn’t a phone call made to clear this up well before the Reunion? I mean, heck, you guys don’t even have to physically talk to each other anymore you can just text each other… we have the technology!
“Yolanda went on at the Reunion to say that I was catty about Brandi by saying she had plastic surgery. She was referring to our dinner in Vegas when we were having a conversation about how Adrienne “lied” about her family secret and I was saying “well, you don’t tell people you’ve had your nose done.” Meaning, just because we don’t tell everyone every detail of our personal life, it does not mean we are lying. Some things are nobody’s business. If it’s not hurting anyone else, why do we care?”
Wait… so let me get this straight… it’s okay for you to divulge a secret about someone, but it’s not okay for someone else to do the same? Let’s be clear – it’s rarely okay to divulge a secret about someone. Adrienne did not just withhold information – she was pretending to have done something, when she had not – if, indeed, you believe the big “S” was surrogacy.
“When Lisa said Yolanda told her I was talking about her, I finally had had it with Yolanda being sneaky and two-faced. Yolanda had asked me what happened between Lisa and me and I told her. That was the extent of what I said to Yolanda. She was posing as someone trying to help me fix things with Lisa and I shared the details with her. Yolanda knew how hard I had been trying to patch things up with Lisa; how sad and mean that she would then go back and try to make things worse? Meanwhile, Yolanda was speaking badly about Lisa. What I said at the Reunion is EXACTLY what she said! Yolanda said those things about Lisa to Kim and me. I was really surprised Yolanda didn’t own up to that. She tries to come off as being a “straight shooter” and that was simply a bold faced LIE. Everyone knew she was lying. I think Lisa knows too, but didn’t want to admit it. Lisa is smarter than that. Although, self-admittedly, not the best judge of character, she is very smart.”
What the heck are you talking about? There are many words that you can use to describe Yo but “sneaky” or “two-faced” are not among them. Yes, Yo told Lisa what you had said – but if you told her the truth, where is the problem? How is it that you think Yo intentionally tried to make matters worse? Honestly, who in this world is Kyle Richards? Honey, Yo is too busy picking lemons and making lemonade to take the time to screw up your friendships – You are more than capable of doing an amazing job of that on your own. And who is this “everyone” who according to you, that knew she was lying? Kim was so distraught and out of it that she couldn’t even handle carrying her own stuff in the airport – we already know that. So the fact that Kim is your corroborating witness is just laughable! If I had to judge who would tell the truth between you and Yo… Sorry, Kyle… you lose!
“Hearing Lisa say she didn’t believe it really stung. Especially, since I believe she KNOWS it is the truth. Perhaps her reason is an attempt to discredit me. I am still, one year later, being “punished” for the last Reunion.”
You say that you know that Lisa KNOWS that what you said is really the truth. You say that you know that everybody knew Yo was lying… Are you freakin’ kidding me? Have we entered the Twilight Zone again?
“What people didn’t KNOW was that we had a disagreement off-camera, right before shooting Season 2 that put a damper on our relationship. That disagreement made me feel conflicted at our Season 2 Reunion. I opted to stay quiet when she and Adrienne were fighting. Since then, I have apologized many times hoping to move forward because I do care about Lisa. At times it was frustrating to me because the viewers didn’t know WHY I hadn’t jumped in to defend Lisa. I chose not to discuss it. I knew if I did it would be impossible to move forward. Meanwhile, Lisa continues to bring up my “not defending” her, every chance she gets. I still don’t understand why it was OK for nobody to defend me (or Camille for that matter) when we had our argument at the table in New York City. Everyone stayed quiet. Then there was Vegas, when Camille said Lisa didn’t really own SUR. Why was Lisa only mad at me for not defending her and it’s OK that Brandi didn’t? I had no clue what percentage Lisa does or does not own.”
Again, let me get this straight, just because you had an off-camera disagreement – you decided in order to get back at her that you would sit silently and watch someone lie about a good friend? Who does that? A third grader? The problem with your disagreement with Camille is that you used words similar to what Camille was alleging, but arguably, she misinterpreted their intent. Neither your character nor your integrity were actually being maligned – it was about Camille’s worthfulness or lack thereof and her insecurities. Your sister Kim, who had been present for that original conversation, didn’t bother to say anything, either.
“The accusations made by Lisa at the Reunion were so hurtful. I would never let business come before my friends. She knows that. Having Camille, Lisa, and Adrienne as my husband’s clients never stopped me from telling them how I felt. EVER. I stuck up for Adrienne because I felt that Brandi was wrong in exposing something Adrienne felt was sacred, and she wasn’t around to defend herself.”
I am really confused. Weren’t you the one who got a message from Camille when you were at the charity fashion show that indicated she and Kelsey would no longer be using your husband as their realtor? Wasn’t that you who completely flipped out because Mauricio would get mad at that? And he did… We all saw it when you told him. You learned that lesson way back in Season 1, no? I honestly feel like I’m in the Twilight Zone… holy crap on a cracker!
“On top of that, there was no disputing that what Brandi did was wrong. Even Brandi admits that. So why wouldn’t I speak up about what I felt was wrong? If Adrienne had done that to Brandi, I would have done the same thing! What’s right is right.”
Yes, for the 4 billionth time, what Brandi did was wrong, whatever it was. It was wrong. It was wrong. It was wrong. The thing is Kyle, is that two paragraphs ago we read in this very blog that you admitted that you actually DIDN’T “speak up for what you felt was wrong” because of a disagreement you had with Lisa. It seems like “what’s right is right” only applies when it serves your own selfish or financial purposes.
“I’ve started to see that these false accusations that some of the women make are much like politicians who go on smear campaigns. It really hurts when you care about the person making the false accusations.”
It’s not fun when the Maloof-hoof is on the other foot, no?
“So it’s time to say goodbye. As we wrap up this third season, I can hardly believe the tumultuous ride we have all taken! Oh dear I thought, when I viewed this episode, with Faye accusing me of controlling what Brandi says then furthering the analogy that Kyle used saying having a friendship with me was like playing chess. I hardly know Faye. She only is ever present as Kyle’s sidekick and this year as a “friend of the Housewives.” Also insinuating that Brandi was responsible for the breakup of Paul and Adrienne’s marriage — I wondered what on earth is wrong with this woman? Always inserting herself into the midst of any possibly awkward situation just to capture screen time.”
We call them “fame whores.”
“I do agree with Yolanda that for Adrienne to arrive at my house seemed slightly inappropriate. The fact that we were renewing our vows was the worst kept secret, and I imagine she knew that. The relationship has never recovered to what it used to be. She should’ve stayed home.”
Honestly, after further thought about it – I think it’s possible that Adrienne is so far out of the loop that she probably didn’t actually know you were renewing your vows. While I do not doubt for a second that she would try to ruin a nice day for you in a heartbeat – I would imagine that attending a vowel renewal ceremony just hours after being served divorce papers could make Adrienne feel like a big, fat loser.
“This season has been tough for her, but I hope she will learn some sort of lesson from it. One should be that if you have so much to hide, don’t do a reality show. Our business becomes your business when we sign up for it. You cannot have the pros without the cons. That being said we were all sorry to see the dissolution of their marriage.”
While I believe your words to be true, “You cannot have the pros without the cons” I seriously hope yours don’t come and bite you in the dupa!
“Brandi was so sweet to come and find me and put it all in perspective. Our vow renewal was something you all were well aware I was unsure of, and I could still clearly see the uncertainty as it came to fruition, but in the end I don’t regret a moment of it.”
Friends need to kick us in the dupa sometimes to prod us to do what we need to do, don’t they? While this whole house warming, season wrap up, 30th Anniversary thingie was mostly a Bravo stunt – it was indeed the day you were celebrating 30 years of marriage and celebration was the agenda!
“My final blog entry comes straight from the heart. In truth, I have moved past all of the drama, and I don’t want to acknowledge it anymore. This is my final blog and I want to dedicate it to all of you that have supported me immensely throughout this experience. I really appreciate the time you took to write me and share your perspectives; you have given me some really great advice. I also appreciate the constructive criticism because it helped me think about the choices I have made and the things I have said. I feel like we have gotten to know each other throughout this experience and while some may call you viewers or fans, I would like to call you friends.”
I’ve got to admit, I think you were misunderstood a lot. However, also I totally believe that you disrespect your husband – even though you say he’s okay with your words and he understands their meaning and your intent. The thing is that the rest of us (and possibly his family) don’t like what you’re saying and as a result, we’ve started to not like you. You can be honest without slicing and dicing your husband. Really, you can…
“Joining The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has been an incredible journey. There are many people behind-the-scenes that work extraordinarily hard to make this show a success and they rarely get acknowledged so I am giving credit where credit is due!”
Marisa then goes on to name several people – which I think is very kewl. When was the last time someone actually did that?
“I have learned so much from this experience and it has changed my life in ways I couldn’t have dreamed. My husband Dean and I have grown closer as we discussed the things I’ve said on the show. I regret many things that I have said without thinking, but my husband and I are deeply in love and after 16 years we know how we truly feel about each other. Dean is an incredible man and he knew that I didn’t intend on hurting him. I am blessed to have him and my beautiful family and I am grateful for their love and support; it means everything to me.”
You are absolutely blessed – we wish you all the best.
“Brandi and I never ever had an issue, about the text or about anything else. I made a mistake, apologized and we quickly moved past it. I really connect with Brandi because she says exactly what is on her mind. I do the same thing and as you know our unfiltered opinions have gotten us in to trouble. Despite that, we both have big hearts and are forgiving people. I can take care of myself and I do not talk shit, I speak the truth. I read your comments about Yolanda and I agree that she was being a good friend to Brandi. My blog reflected my thoughts in that moment but as you can see Yolanda and I ended on a very positive note.”
Yeah, I think that when you shared Brandi’s text with the others it was just you trying hard to create a storyline for yourself. I’m glad things worked out between you and Brandi. Since it looks like you’re not coming back next year, you’ll have way more discretionary time to work on taking the knives out of your husband’s back.
“A Housewife must be many things: she must be media-savvy and tech-savvy. She must think about what she says and its potential impact, she must have a thick skin to handle the constructive criticism and a sense of humor about her to enjoy the creativity of the many writers that blog the show. A Housewife must also recognize that she is not perfect and be willing to learn from her mistakes. If 10,000 people are telling you that you are being a bitch, they can’t all be wrong. At the end of the day we are all very lucky to have this experience and our jobs are much easier than all of yours and all of the people behind-the-scenes that work so hard. That is why this blog is dedicated to you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for joining me on this journey. We never know what life will bring or what the future will hold so I leave you with my sincerest thanks, love and one of my favorite quotes: “Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.” Winston Churchill”
Other than how you treat your husband, I like you, Marisa.
Oh goodie… Taylor wrote not one, but 2 blogs… She starts her blog by defining “loyalty” for us using a dictionary’s definition. Yep – Someone else is helping our lil Taylor write her blogs. Umm… Thanks so much for the vocabulary word of the week, but I think we’re the ones who know what loyalty is, Taylor.
Blog 1 – Season Finale:
“OK, I am going to try and get all of this straight. I was fighting Linda’s battle (or so I thought.) Faye was accused of fighting Kyle’s battles. Faye and Kyle were fighting Adrienne’s battle. Faye feels Brandi fights Lisa’s battles. Marisa is battling herself over who she wants to sleep with. Kim wants Kyle to remember she and Brandi once had a battle. And Adrienne and Paul are just plain battling. I have a feeling this one is going to get ugly! Just another typical evening in the 90210.”
Oh, I get it… you’re trying to be funny! I hasten to add, if there actually still happens to be one Taylor fan out there, if anyone BUT Taylor had written this paragraph I would have probably laughed… but since it’s Taylor – it’s not so amusing.
“Whew! Am I glad I got my issue out of the way early. I was ready to make an effort to become friends with Yolanda and David and felt I needed to check-in with my friend Linda about what effect that might have on our friendship. Linda was there for me during difficult times in my marriage and I am fiercely loyal to those who are loyal to me. As I expected, Linda was gracious and quick to encourage me to make an overture of friendship with Yolanda and David. I had grown to like them during the past months and realized how silly it was to miss an opportunity to make friends because of something that had nothing to do with me. I felt a sense of relief knowing Linda was encouraging the new relationships and that it wouldn’t be hurtful to her. The torch has been dropped. Moving on. . .”
Yes, and of COURSE the only way you could ensure she was okay with it was to ask Linda right in front of a bevy of cameras, right? Surely it’s not because you’re trying to get Linda to be a housewife next year or anything, right? Cuz Bravo CERTAINLY would never go for having both the current and an ex-wife of David Foster on their show to generate drama, cuz that would just be beneath them. Oh wait, it’s not… tune in, folks – I have a bad feeling about this…
“Who doesn’t know what a “hall pass” is when you are referring to husbands and wives, especially when you’re someone who constantly talks about wanting to have sex with someone other than your husband? Marisa is fixated on this topic. One thing I think we can all agree on is no one cares what Marisa does between the sheets (or on the floor or in the shower or whatever rendezvous spot she choses). I find the whole thing boring.”
Well, if there’s anyone who knows about a “hall pass” it’s you, Taylor – Except you took it to a new low when you started having an affair with a man who was still actively living with his family.
“As the friendship between Lisa and Brandi was forming, it didn’t seem like a natural fit to me. They are so very different. Lisa is the voice of reason and Brandi. . .we’ll let’s just say she has a voice of her own. Lisa doesn’t need Brandi to speak for her. Lisa has always been very straightforward and is not afraid to speak her mind. Lisa can fight her own battles and does so. The same is true for Kyle. She doesn’t need Faye to fight her battles. At times, we stick up for one another but that’s what loyal friends do.”
It’s a good thing that Lisa and Brandi didn’t check in with you for friendship advice. No one in this group actually needs someone to fight their battles for them… it would just be nice that if one of you is stabbing a friend in the back that someone else doesn’t come along and twist the knife. Baby steps…
“When Kyle explains that Faye’s anger at Brandi is in defense of her friend, Adrienne, Kim wants in on the action. Game night? That is so last year. The fact that she was “in addition” to Adrienne really seemed to upset her. What Brandi said to her that night wasn’t cool but, if I look back at the trip she just took to Paris, it appeared that she and Brandi were forming a friendship. Why are we talking about game night. . .again? Relevant. . .? Confused. . .!”
Is it just me, but Taylor is really trying her hardest to be funny, “that is so last year.” I’m sorry Tay Tay, I’m sure you’re more than ready to forget everything in the past and move forward and usually I’m all for it – but frankly, you keep doing things in the present that just piss me off.
“As Ken and Lisa prepared to celebrate their love, Adrienne came over to share her pending dissolution. I find it quite coincidental that papers were served on the day of their celebration and the final day of filming. It was bad form to disrupt the event and lay something so heavy on the group. This was not a day for tears other than happy ones. She didn’t even say hello to Ken and Lisa so, I am unclear as to what her intentions were in coming to the party. One thing was clear, it was all about her.”
Dies laughing, it’s clear Taylor doesn’t see a future in maintaining a relationship with Adrienne, The Martyr. Oh that’s right, Taylor must know she’s not going to be getting any freebies from the Maloofs anymore, now that their empire is crumbling.
Blog 2 – Reunion Show:
“As the reunion began, Andy dropped the news. Adrienne would not be present. Her “final act as a housewife” was not showing up. Cowardly, to say the least.”
Whoa… did Taylor just call Adrienne a “coward”… why yes, I think she did. I’m getting that unsettling feeling again because I find myself agreeing with Taylor once more. Seriously, did hell freeze over?
“After my Season 2, there was nothing I would have liked more than to stay home during the reunion but, I went and I faced the toughest year of my life on national television. I used to view Adrienne as a strong, independent business woman, but her behavior this year proved me wrong. This is our reality but it is also a job and not fulfilling your commitment to Bravo is not the act of a business woman.”
There’s GOT to be more of a back story than we know – Taylor has such vitriol for Adrienne and I can’t figure out why… Anyone have any ideas? I know Taylor is besties with Kyle – did Adrienne do or say anything to Kyle? I’m honestly trying to forget “The Human Stain” as quickly as possible, so it’s probable that I blocked something from my memory… lol.
“Over the weeks leading up to the reunion, Adrienne or “her people” were leaking stories that she didn’t want to be a part of the show any longer mixed in with stories that she was dating Rod Stewart’s 31-year-old son, of course. She has been beating Paul up in the press as well. In fact, she has been quite busy leaking stories to the press all season. There were a couple stories early in the season that were quite detailed and clearly came from inside our circle. It was no surprise that the stories were negative about ‘Wives that Adrienne was having conflict with and yet her name was omitted from both “incidents.” Guilt by omission, perhaps. I agree with Brandi that Adrienne “buys” her way out of things well, I guess this time she bought herself off a hit show.”
What? Adrienne is leaking stories to the press? Say it isn’t so! Is it funny to anyone else that she refers to their show as a “hit show.” She uses “hit show” twice in her blog this week which makes me completely die laughing…
“‘Shut the f— up gate’ started the season off in true Housewives style. Brandi knows how to mix it up and she and Adrienne were destined for disaster from the beginning of Season 3. Once she let the cat out of the bag regarding Adrienne’s family “secret,” I knew we were in for a wild ride.”
You’re just happy no one really picked on you very much this season. I think you’re still getting a pass from your co-housewives because of all that happened last year… but you’re not getting a pass from viewers. While I’m so glad that Kennedy is in a good place now and is surrounded by people who love her – you continue to prove to be the train wreck that we all came to know and loathe.
“I didn’t think it was a good decision for Kim to tell Adrienne and Paul what Brandi said especially at Mauricio’s business event. She could have spoken to them privately about the whole thing and let them calm down before seeing Brandi. When Brandi said “I will cut a bitch” during the reunion, it made me laugh. Going gangster in Beverly Hills. Paul called Brandi to apologize for the legal mess. That was the right thing to do. I don’t agree with Brandi outing the “secret” but their reaction was way over-the-top. I know what its like to be sued as a single mother and it is scary as hell and equally as expensive. “Friends don’t sue friends”. . .well, they threaten to apparently.”
Sighs… a new Bravo show coming to you, “Gangstahs of Beverly Hills.” Just what we need. Cuz well you know all of Bravo’s new shows are just “awesome!” [gag]
“In the beginning of the season, I found it frustrating that Yolanda didn’t seem to know much about each of us. She clearly didn’t understand how our dynamics work and that we are dramatic. When she would say “these girls” or these “Beverly Hills girls” it sounded condescending. She didn’t get that in sharing our reality, we have to think out loud and not hold back.”
Taylor, you were just mad that Yolanda’s husband, the ex of your best friend Linda, didn’t even seem to recognize you when you saw him at their dinner party. Then he got your name wrong. I don’t know if he meant to or not but it was hysterical. I feel like I’m being such a meanie to you – but then again, you did break up a marriage and cried over giving back an over-priced purse. Puhleeze – and how many millions of dollars did you and your husband bilk other people out of? You escaped that whole legal situation almost unscathed and it really pisses me off. Okay, thanks for allowing me this lil rant – I don’t feel like such a meanie weenie anymore.
“When I found out she had never watched our show prior to signing up to be on it, I was puzzled. I understood at that point why she didn’t get our group dynamic but, I would never take a position without researching a company and the people I was working directly with on a daily basis. it felt disrespectful to me that she knew so little about the hit show we created that she now had the privilege of being a part of. She did admit she made a mistake not watching the show and I appreciated that. As for her attitude being a “Dutch thing,” if she is going to say something, she needs to be prepared to accept the consequences and not expect for it to be overlooked because she is from another country. Lisa is as well and she doesn’t use that as a pass card.”
It couldn’t be that Yo didn’t want what happened in the past to bias her towards the future? No, that can’t be it. While it’s not the tact that I would have taken, it’s a valid approach. In reading this paragraph, your delusional self-importance just oozes out from each word, “…about the hit show we created that she now had the privilege of being a part of”… dies laughing… really? Wow. Someone is lobbying hard to be recast next season!
“All this being said, I have many regrets about my not opening up to her in the beginning. I wasn’t in a good place and certainly wasn’t ready to make new friends. She says she was on guard meeting all of us well, I was on guard as well. My trust in people was shattered and seeing her beautiful life while mine was crashing down around me was making it really difficult. I apologized and I owed that to her. I am in a good place now and my heart is open. Yolanda and I have begun to get to know one another and I look forward o the opportunity to forge a friendship.”
Your apology seemed genuine – Not sure what your motives are but the words sounded sincere. I gotta give you that – and that makes me really cranky. Taylor goes on to talk about how hard it was for her to cope this year and then she talks about the nannygate snafu with Kyle… I refuse to go into that again.
“Kim and I do not socialize outside of the show. She knows very little about me. I have friends that care for me and expressed concern about my coping. I appreciated that and took their advice to heart. As for Kim saying she was scared for me and that is was hard for her to be around me, well that’s how she made all of us feel for a very long time. Rather than saying we didn’t want to be around her, we protected her time and time again. She has never reached out to me off-camera, period.”
Yeah, Kim doesn’t remember that you guys all had to dance around her alcoholism so many times. It probably is hard for her to be around you because as a recovering alcoholic, when you see people going down a similar path as you did it makes it hard. That being said, your drinking shouldn’t have been a storyline for her and the face-to-face she had with you should have been done privately if it was sincere.
“I do have a new love in my life and no, his divorce is not final yet. . .these things take time. As Yolanda said, assets can take years to divide. We are extremely happy and Kennedy is thrilled to have a father figure in her life. They have a beautiful relationship and she is witnessing for the first time what a healthy relationship looks like. I feel for Brandi that she was pregnant and Eddie was cheating on her repeatedly. Our situation is much different and I think Brandi is starting to understand that.”
Brandi is just choosing not to attack you at the moment. She’s had bigger fish to fry this year than to address your cheating issues. Your situations are very different it’s true – but the outcome is the same which is the breakup of a family wherein children are involved.
“I wasn’t in Paris so, I wasn’t privy to what Yolanda said in regard to Lisa in the airport. I know there was more to the story than what has been covered thus far. Maybe next week we will get to the bottom of it. Kyle doesn’t lie, I can tell you that.”
Ehh… you just need a built-in babysitter.
Yolanda H. Foster
Blog 1 – Season Finale:
“Maybe in hindsight I should have not brought up the Marisa and Brandi situation because it was Lisa’s special night, and it looks like it started a whole mess that was not needed. However, since we were at Adrienne’s the night before, it was still fresh in my mind and I wanted to clear up the situation. Obviously I was not invited to this group to look cute but rather to speak my mind, Dutch-style.”
You really are a surprisingly wonderful addition to the show. I mean, you really are what I had hoped a franchise called “Beverly Hills” would be about – someone who was really crazily wealthy enough to live in a home that I can only dream and salivate about owning. I’ve been interested in just how out of touch the truly wealthy are… and some of the things that have cracked me up about you is how you were sad that you couldn’t afford to buy your daughter a second horse nor could you afford to buy your hubster a private jet. Me? I get cranky when I don’t have enough money to buy Jet-Puffed Marshmallows!
“In the moment, I thought Marisa handled the situation correctly. She admitted she should have not read the text to a group of women that obviously hate Brandi. I liked Marisa, but I just wanted to hold her accountable for not protecting my girlfriend in this situation. As you can tell, in the moment she totally agreed with me so it is disappointing to see her have this change of heart in her blog.”
The whole blogging process must be pretty interesting to you guys. First you film everything – including hours and hours that the viewer never sees. Then several months later, you preview the edited TV version and write your blog. After the blog’s published, you read all the comments about the show and your blog. I don’t think Marisa liked how she portrayed herself on the show week after week. I don’t think she had any idea that she came off the way she did nor did she anticipate the level of negative feedback. Other than her seeming disrespect for her husband, the only storyline she had all season was about reading Brandi’s text message. I think that her last couple of blogs she was in pure survival mode.
“When I watch myself interact with Kim, I really felt we had a nice connection and established a genuine friendship — but I guess I was I mistaken.”
Yeah, I don’t get what happened between you and Kim. Yo then talks a lil about Lisa’s wedding anniversary party and about when Adrienne made her last RHOBH appearance at the party.
“The energy obviously changed and unfortunately it really affected the way Lisa felt. It was endearing to see Brandi give Lisa a shoulder to lean on and give encouragement. We always see the strong Lisa so I loved seeing her vulnerable side.”
It was interesting to see Lisa was so affected by the divorce announcement, although arguably they all knew it was coming at one point or another. It seemed like she was genuinely sad for her former across the street neighbors.
“My heart melted when I saw sweet Ken joke, “I will obey you…I have always loved you, and probably never deserved you.” Lisa truly loves her husband and this love shines through. In the end it was magical to see that love triumphs all after all.”
Don’t we all love a happy ending? I know Ken especially loves a happy ending.
“Rolling right into one other note about the reunion. . .I still did not get my point across regarding the lesbian remark, I sound ignorant because I know that homosexuality is nature over nurture, but I did experience a beautiful gay relationship with one of our daughters who was given the freedom of choice. I was raised in Holland were race and homosexuality are not a subject matter but rather a part of life.”
Yeah, you’re confusing to me on this topic.
Blog 2 – Reunion Show: (Well, actually, Yo wrote this blog regarding the Reunion first then realized that she didn’t actually blog the show’s finale… so then she blogged what I’m calling “Blog 1.”
“I pulled up my bootstraps and flew across the country and left my treatment center in Florida to be at the reunion because I felt it to be my duty as a Housewife. I am glad Andy set the rule straight, you don’t show up, you’ll get fired. Maybe they can add a blog rule as well. Some of us struggle and make time in our busy lives to turn in a blog every Monday morning but some just write whenever they feel like it.”
Unfortunately, Yo – Andy didn’t set the rule straight – We have other instances of people not showing up to the Reunion shows and they do not get fired. However, it is true that Bravo doesn’t like it when other people tell them what they can air or cannot air – so I suspect that when Adrienne involved her lawyers in the dictating of what could show regarding the big “S” secret that it really pissed off Bravo. Then Adrienne’s bowing out of most of the season didn’t help matters, either. In my opinion, Yolanda, you do get the blogging award. You blogged each and every week – and your blogs were the longest and way more informational than any of the others. I can’t even imagine how you did it with your brain functioning being affected by the Lyme Disease.
“I always thought my blog was meant for our fans to get to know us more intimately, while our relationship within the group would develop naturally. I thought it was an interesting way to share our views and to see a different perspective through our eyes but I’ve now learned that Kyle sees it as a new way of communicating and she obviously formed an opinion of me through my blog.”
Housewives use their blogs for various reasons – and it’s true that some seem to love to use it as a passive-aggressive way to fight with the other housewives. I do have to take issue with your blog, though, Yo. It was pretty rare that I could find anything to snark about – and that made me cranky. Hopefully, you’ve learned from your mistakes and next season, you will be really combative and exploitive in your blogs so I have better material from which to snark. Thank you.
“It was uncomfortable to sit on the couch and be confronted by two sisters that all of a sudden pretended to be united after they fought the entire season. It would be stupid for me to say I was surprised because I saw them change scenarios in front of my eyes along the way.”
Modifying slightly one of your best lines of the season, “Who are the Richard sisters in this world?”
“Of course we did discuss Lisa and everyone else in the group while in Paris. That’s what girls do, so I am not going to sit here and deny that. But unfortunately they chose to take my words out-of-context and embellished the meaning of them. I have no reason to attack Lisa, as she has been nothing but a consistent and good friend to me and my family.”
Yeah, that was just weird. It’s almost like Kyle was trying to prove to Lisa that suddenly she is a good friend and is outing you for your words – but she quoted you in a way that did not ring true to me from what I’ve seen from you all season and read in your blogs. She’s almost pulling a Camille – quoting words but taking the context way out of it and inserting a different emphasis than what was originally intended.
“It was hurtful because, even though I am far from perfect and my black and whiteness isn’t always cute, I am a straight shooter and I do take great pride in the integrity with which I choose to live my life.”
It was somewhat confusing… and then when Kim piled on it just got dang right incredulous. Who in the world would ever believe something that Kim said while she was on her wacky medically enhanced trip that happened while you guys were in Paris?
“I liked Kyle when we met and most definitely had a connection with Kim. It’s hard for me to be involved in superficial friendships with other women. I like to have a purpose and have meaningful conversations which doesn’t seem to be of any interest to them.”
That doesn’t make for good TV, Yo.
“I am not going to waste more of my time on the Richards sisters. At this point their behavior speaks for itself. The fact that they have never shown any interest in cultivating a friendship or in my well-being is just another confirmation of their lack of interest in others. Kim and Kyle are about Kim and Kyle and that is where it ends! You actually know them much better than me because you have seen their actions for the past three seasons.”
Mauricio is probably cranky that it doesn’t look like there’s a real estate commission check anytime in the near future from you or your hubster.
“The core of people don’t change. . .what you see is what you get.”
I really don’t agree – I do believe that the core of people can change – it’s tough, but it can be done. I don’t think that what you see is what you get at all – especially on this show where we only see a fraction of what was originally filmed and where Bravo’s editors seem to have fun rewriting history. Your statement presumes that people are being genuine and authentic and they’re really not. The cameras are on… The trippy thing is that the Richard sisters have been actresses all their lives and have played various roles. It’s hard to know which parts are genuine and which parts aren’t. Add in some alcoholism, then stir and it really gets wonky.
“I am a confident woman, but I did come into this group guarded to protect my heart. That guard can sometimes get mistaken for being cold or arrogant. I do have my insecurities, but I feel good in my skin and my heart is full of love. I traveled this road with great caution, but I tried my best to connect with everyone. I feel blessed to be given this opportunity to be a positive voice of reason and share part of my life with you the viewers.”
Run away from Bravo while you still can! Yo, I have no idea if you’re coming back next year or not. Quite frankly, I don’t know why you would. You clearly don’t need this show to hawk any business ventures, to attain fame, or to be the center of attention. Thanks for allowing us the opportunity to get a glimpse into your life. For future reference, I make awesome lemonade. Just sayin’…
