Part Two of the Season Five Atlanta Housewives Reunion
Round 2 is on. Let’s get ready to rumble! Andy pointed at that Nene has been on the show the longest and she has sat back & enjoyed the other women fighting this season. Nene was glad she wasn’t part of the fighting and a few times she wanted to pull Kenya back to let her see reason. She wished someone did that with her but instead people pushed her. Andy asks why she welcomed Porsha and Kenya immediately to the show but she didn’t do that with Kandi or the lawyer. Nene told Cynthia to keep it real and figure it out for herself. When Kandi came on the show, Kim did not have any friends on the show so she grabbed onto Kandi and Nene felt Kandi chose Kim’s side. Kandi thinks it is all in Nene’s head that people chooses sides. This season Kim and Sheree are not on the show so she welcomed the new girls with open arms.
Andy points out that Nene got her happy back. Last season she divorced Gregg and was not happy. What a difference a year makes. We see flashbacks of Gregg and Nene putting a cradle together for their “glam-baby,” Gregg’s poems and the proposal. Nene tells Andy that Gregg was always the provider and because of Nene’s success, the shoe was on the other foot. After the divorce, Gregg realized that the grass was not always greener so he started to pursue Nene. Nene also felt the negative comments and made up stories from “other sources” meaning the lawyer, also put a strain on their relationship. Nene accused the lawyer of seeking out Marlo to be on the show because there may be a possible issue with Nene allegedly dating Marlo’s ex Charles Grant. Nene took issue with the other ladies gossiping about Nene flirting and having a thing with Peter which bothered Cynthia. Andy said it seemed to him that Nene had a playful above board relationship with Peter and Nene said it wasn’t a fun thing to be accused of something with Peter. I think it was hard for Nene to bring her point home that the lawyer was taking her harmless fun flirtation with Peter and making it out to be something nasty without sounding like it was all in her head. Nene pointed out the lawyer being mad at Kenya and Apollo for flirting in Anguilla. Kenya says she thinks the lawyer is the queen of low down dirty and the lawyer calls Kenya an obsessed fan. Then Kenya says “mirror mirror on the wall, who is the shadiest of them all” and whips out her fan.
The lawyer is up next showing scenes of tongue kissing Apollo and Andy asks if she was overcompensating because there was news in the gossip blogs that Apollo and the lawyer were getting a divorce. The lawyer says her husband likes to kiss that way. Andy asks if one of the perils of having a donkey booty is butt-dialing people. He is referring to the conversation that Cynthia caught on her cell phone about the lawyer being mad at Cynthia not coming to Aidan’s party. The lawyer said she had a party for her son and it didn’t matter if anyone came to her party. The important thing was for her and Apollo to show up. Cynthia felt she was a little hurt because the ladies don’t always support each other at each other’s events so she didn’t mind nailing her to the cross with the taped conversation. Andy pointed out the hypocrisy that the lawyer calls herself a southern belle yet curses. The lawyer says she has a broad vocabulary but she feels that if people push her, such as the lovely Miss Kenya, she will use some curse words. She then throws shade at Kenya that people will not ask for an interview with Kenya unless she talks about the lawyer. Andy then asks the lawyer why she throws so much shade behind everyone’s back but when she is confronted by it she pussyfoots around the issue. The lawyer asks who she throws shade at and Kenya volunteers happily. The lawyer repeats that Kenya is obsessive. Andy then turns to Nene and asks if she feels the lawyer has thrown shade and she said yes she is low down and dirty. Nene accused the lawyer of sitting with her half sisters to dig up dirt on her and invited them to Aidan’s first birthday party. The lawyer said Nene’s brother dated the lawyer’s cousin. Nene felt there was no real reason for her to do that but to bring her down. Nene’s half sister came to her with that information and the lawyer denied she did anything.
Andy asks the lawyer if there was intent to harm Nene. The lawyer said she wasn’t hanging out with Nene’s half sisters but she did know them. Nene said that wasn’t true so the lawyer said call them up and Nene said ok. Now Kim with her big ass wig was also involved because she was at the birthday party. The lawyer accused Nene that it was all in her head that everyone is conniving against her. The lawyer admitted that Nene’s half sisters were at the first birthday party and they came to the lawyer. Nene accused the lawyer of trying to put a bug in their ears to come on the show and the sisters came to Nene to tell her what the lawyer said. Kenya says “she’s in my dressing room now.” I don’t know who “she” is. Then the lawyer said to Twirl that she is not in this conversation and that she owes her a back end because the only way she gets interviews was to talk about the lawyer. The thing with Nene’s sisters happened two years ago. The lawyer said she knew Nene from Athens and was hurt by her when Nene said she didn’t know her. Nene said they met at a Christmas party but never contacted each other ever since. Andy thinks the definition of the word “know” is coming into question. The lawyer said she sufficiently apologized two years ago then she apologized again. Nene asked her for an apology, she got it and now they can move on.
Andy feels they’ve beaten this donkey bootie to death so now it is time for Kim’s entrance. Kim is wearing her real hair so Andy has to rip up the cards with wig questions for her. The last time Kim spoke to anyone was at the brunch before the Anguilla trip. Andy brings up the lawsuit, how she was served with papers that morning and how awkward it must be. Now they show scenes of Kim leaving early, giving her excuses why she can’t show up and leaving early again at the brunch. Kim said she never confirmed Anguilla and Andy brings up that production did confirm the dates and Nene said she confirmed the dates. Kim said she was 28 weeks and didn’t want to deliver her son in another country but the US in an emergency. Nene said she always has her moment arguing with Kim and the rest of the girls should talk. Andy felt that Kim had no interest in shooting with these women. Kim’s excuses were her problem pregnancy, Kroy and moving back to the townhouse. Cynthia felt she was not being respected when they changed their dates to accommodate Kim. The lawyer points out that she worked every day when she was pregnant, not just on the show but as a lawyer and the cameras went with her to the hospital. Andy said Kroy was outside of the restaurant waiting to drive Kim away at the brunch. They show Kroy standing off stage at the reunion. Kandi mentions that Kim kept complaining that she had to leave early while everyone stayed to film. Kim accused Kandi of being late many times and Kandi threw it back at her. Kim then says no one is raising her babies but her and Kandi is incredulous because she knows Kim has a nanny. Kandi felt everyone was held to a different standard than Kim. Kim then points out the issue that Nene was able to fly to Vegas and everyone else had to take the bus. Kandi feels that Kim should not relate the two things because everyone knew Nene had to work that morning and the bus was taking too long stuck in traffic.
Andy said Kim looks like season one Kim and looking younger. Andy wanted to touch Kim’s hair and thanked her for wearing her real hair. What a treat for Andy! I think Kim should wear her real hair more often. She looks ridiculous with a wig.
Andy says after Kim exited during the brunch, the ladies came together and they show scenes of ripping on Kim with Nene making up a “no excuses” song. Nene felt Kim was gone from the show once she walked out on the brunch. Cynthia said she felt relief because Kim didn’t want to be there so she walked out and got her priorities in order. Now the scenes of Kim having problems with buying the house and moving out of the house are being shown. Who else can make this much drama about moving out of the house but Kim. Kim says she is currently building a house and they will move in this summer. Okay we’ll see. Kim said Sweetie was telling her that the neighborhood Kandi moved to was really bad and to lock her car doors. Kandi was wondering after watching the scene if she should be offended. Andy then turns to Nene and asks about the times Nene felt Kim was racist. Nene says it is either racist or ignorance because she says things that she knows nothing about. Kim feels that being on the show with African American women that certain things she says can be magnified a million times and she doesn’t see color. Now Andy wants to address Kim naming her baby Kash after Kandi mentioned it. Kim tells Kandi that the name was going to be Kash from the beginning. The beginning of what? Her pregnancy? Kandi felt Kim after being told that she wanted to name her baby Kash would say she was going to name her baby Kash too. Andy said Kroy was like a bailiff as he walks up to Kim to hand her paperwork so Kim can show that she put Kash’s name on April 14th into an LLC and an email on March 22nd telling the decorator how she wants to decorate Kash’s wall. Kandi felt it was one heck of a coincidence. Kim says when she left she had no friends left on the show. Kim felt her friendship with Kandi dissolved and Kim isn’t a good communicator. Kandi felt she never worked out the business between them which led to the dissolution of the friendship.
Then Andy asks Kim if she could redo anything what would she redo. Kim said she would redo her communication with everyone. She felt she was swept up in the mayhem doing the show and it was a great ride. Andy asks if Nene and Kim would ever be friends again. Nene says they were in two different places in their lives. Kim agrees and feels that she would definitely sit down and have a glass of wine with Nene. They both give each other a hug. I think they are genuinely happy for each other and where they are in their lives. Kim then leaves the stage on a good note.
Married to Medicine – Bad Bad Acting by NoMoreDama
Bravo have you done lost your bloody mind? Married to Medicine could be the end of the housewife-type franchises. It’s over the top, bad bad acting wasn’t even worth finishing the show – and I had the blog almost written. Seriously by Sunday night I’m so brain dead I could probably watch static on the TV without having the energy to change the channel. But it was so awful I leapt out of my chair and finished my weekend chores. Who in their right mind approved this garbage?
My apologizes to Dr. Jackie who seems sincere and determined to send positive messages to women. Dr. Jackie was on call most of the episode (good excuse Dr. Jackie – I’d have missed it too.)
As for the rest of them. The set up was that Mariah’s sister and mom just happened to be in a beauty salon and heard that Toya had been talking crap about Mariah and her little girl. Oh no – not the children. And can you believe it – it was the night of the big birthday party. Do you think there might be some conflict at the party?????
Meanwhile Kari is upset because she’s throwing a joint party with Mariah, but Mariah hasn’t shown up yet and isn’t answering her phone. Oh no – do you think there might be some conflict there.
Sure enough they have Mariah stroll in late and with the worst overacting I’ve seen in my life pretend to act like a Diva but then sort of act normal when she didn’t think the cameras were on her. Take an acting class Mariah and stay in character! Her mom was worse, and don’t get me started on Toya. At some pre-arranged point Mariah and Toya moved to the side and pitifully started their physical altercation. I don’t know what was worse, the bad acting or the idea that they thought the girl-on-girl action would make good TV. Mariah’s mom managed to slap Toya a few times in the head with her purse. Kari burst into tears. We don’t act like this, she whimpers. There might have been more but this is the point where I switched the channel in disgust.
I really wanted to like this show and give you an upbeat blog because I enjoy chatting on Sunday nights – but it was a total joke.
