Real Housewives of Atlanta Reunion Part Three by RamonaCoaster
Whew! Last installment of the Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion. As soon as Kim leaves, Andy is bewildered at how easy everyone was on Kim (because going after her would have brought more ratings). He seems disappointed. Nene says she has told Kim a zillion times how she felt about her lying and making up excuses. Nene appreciated the text that Kim sent her. Kim sent her a text saying “It’s Kim. No bullshit. A little sad but I truly wish you well. And I’m so happy for you. Someday I know we will laugh about this. I will always care about you girl. XO.” Nene responded, “Thank you so much. Someday we can make this right. I wish you and your family the best.” Andy then said he couldn’t believe Kim wore her real hair and he wanted to pull it. Nice moment for you there Andy. Nene made a sly laugh.
Next are scenes of Kandi with Todd, their engagement ring, Todd and Riley bonding and convo about mama moving into the guest house. Todd was working behind the scenes on the show and when they went to the bone doctor during the trip to Africa, the doctor predicted the person Kandi was going to be with her is there now (meaning Todd). Kandi said she forgot about that scene. Andy sh-t stirrer that he is, asks why Nene is throwing shade on Kandi’s ring. Kandi said Nene asked her how much her ring is and she thought it was shallow. Nene asked if she said that and Kandi said that’s how it came off. Andy then asks Kandi a viewer question “Sex toys and God doesn’t mix, who does that?” Kandi thinks it is stupid to be offended that she prays and asks if it would be better if she prays in private. Another viewer asks if Todd moving in with Kandi is good for Riley. Kandi said they kept their relationship a secret because of the show. Cynthia pointed out that it is a deal breaker if Riley didn’t get along with Todd. It is great for Kandi that they do get along.
Now they get to scenes of Kenya pretending to have an intimate relationship with Walter, how everyone questioned their relationship, the breakup and the insinuation that Walter is gay. Andy mentioned a radio interview that Walter did where he said Kenya hired him to portray her boyfriend to get cast on the show. The producers have no knowledge or proof of this. Kenya refuted it and said she dated Walter prior to being offered a spot on the housewives show. Kenya feels she would not waste her time on a pretend relationship with Walter when she has a world wide stage to find a man. Nene recalls being in the airport going to Anguilla, watching Kenya and Walter together and asking if he really is her boyfriend. The lawyer said Kenya’s behavior was odd because she was flirting with every man while Kenya should be trying to get with Walter. Kenya said flirting with someone does not a whore make and she whips out that fan. Watch your eyeball, Kandi.
Andy asks Kenya if it is hypocritical to accuse the lawyer of assassinating Kenya’s character and she accuses Walter of being gay. Kenya says being gay is not an assassination of character and she never accused but questioned Walter’s sexuality. Andy then asks why she had a problem with Walter being at Kandi’s housewarming party. Kenya says he was intimidating her on purpose. Andy tells her that Kenya revealed a lot of personal details about Walter on the show and on her blog. Does Walter have a toupee? Kenya said behind closed doors Walter was a different person and they had gotten into a huge fight the last night of Anguilla because she had questioned if he was gay. Cynthia then asks if they had been intimate. Kenya then brings up the lawyer calling her a whore and that she didn’t have sex with Walter. Samantha from Sex and the City put it nicely – before you buy a car, you need to take it for a test drive. Kenya feels you can test the goods without going all the way. Kenya then brings up what the lawyer said about her “you can’t turn a whore into a housewife.” Kenya said she never called the lawyer a whore and that she is not the one who had unprotected sex with a convicted felon and lied about how many months she was pregnant. The lawyer thinks it’s not her place for her to say what Kenya has done. I don’t believe that for a second. The lawyer is running out of ammo. Then the line Kenya says with relish “Don’t come for me unless I send for you.” The lawyer says, “you didn’t send for me but I still came for you.”
Andy asks the lawyer if she regretted saying that. The lawyer said no. Andy then asks if anyone thinks the relationship between Kenya and Walter is genuine. Silence. Kenya says no one knows what is going on except for her and she lied to herself thinking Walter cared for her. Andy then mentions how Walter had asked Kandi out. Kandi clarifies the timeline – Walter had asked her out while he was supposedly dating Kenya and her friend told her that Walter was ready to settle down so it is possible that he would be getting serious with Kenya. Kenya then points out how Walter was a liar when he lied about his age. Kandi says Walter wants to defend himself against Kenya’s gay allegations and so he has been going on Twitter. Andy asks Kenya what is going on with her love life now. Kenya lets out this weird laugh, says she is happy then starts crying and then doesn’t want to talk about it. Nene says she has not met him but Kenya told her she has been seeing someone. Andy asks if it is Big Poppy. Kandi says she doesn’t know what happened between Kenya and Walter but she knows that she wants to settle down and have a family.
The househusbands/ fiancees have joined the show. Gregg, Peter, Apollo and Todd sit behind their women. Andy asks why Kordell wasn’t there and Porsha says he is working on his radio show. Nene is rolling her eyes so she knows something was up during that time. Andy asks if Kordell was pleased with his portrayal on the show and Porsha said he was comfortable with it because it was real. Bravo shows shots of the men getting along on the show, sharing Viagra, always waiting for their women while they are putting on makeup and gossiping about Walter and Kenya. Andy feels Gregg is usually the voice of reason until he hears Gregg say on the show that Kenya needed meds. Gregg then says Kenya might have needed a pill at the time because she got wound up. Andy then asks how Todd feels about being on the show and not behind the scenes. We find out that Todd did not want to appear on the show and Todd says he wanted to support his lady. He is so cute and so smooth. Andy asked about the accusations that Marlo made against Kandi being a sugar mama and Todd said Kandi can handle herself. Andy asks about Mama Joyce moving in. Todd loves Mama Joyce but Kandi and he are just getting to know each other and maybe in the future she can move in.
The conversation switches to Walter and Andy wants to know their opinions about Walter’s allegations and Peter says he believes he was promoting his tow truck company. Peter didn’t believe Walter and Kenya were in a relationship. Andy wants to take a poll if anyone believes if Walter and Kenya were in a relationship. Gregg questions the definition of relationship. Kandi feels they were dating but they were not ready for marriage. Andy asks why the guys kept Walter around. Peter says they were not friends with Kenya but with Walter. Kenya brings up Walter asking the men’s opinions before he went on a radio interview to clear up the homosexual allegations. Peter says they advised him not to do it. Kenya then says she has a source that told her the lawyer represented Walter in this whole situation. The lawyer refuted it.
Kandi feels Walter needs to defend himself in some way. Kenya states she has dated many celebrities and wealthy high profile men and they have never spoken negatively about her. Andy feels questioning a man about his sexuality on national television is something a man would want to respond to. Apollo feels if Kenya wanted to marry this man she wouldn’t say negative things about him. He thinks it was a charade and Kenya doesn’t want to address it. When Peter gets into it, Kenya then does a twirl and says she is “Gone with the Wind fabulous”. Peter points out that Walter is not there to defend himself. Kenya then sings her Gone with the Wind fabulous song without auto-tune.
Andy then asks Apollo how he feels about Kenya. Apollo says he dislikes her from a business perspective. Kenya then says maybe he should stop texting her. Everyone laughs. Apollo says Kenya went after him at the Beverly Wilshire so he had to check out and go to the Lux hotel and she kept sending him texts. Kenya then produces her phone to show the texts from Apollo to Andy. Andy says it is not sexting. Then the lawyer says that is why she calls her a whore. Kenya says Apollo has always initiated texts with her. Peter thinks she should not have entertained it. Kenya tells the lawyer to get an AIDS test then the lawyer tells her to re-augment her breasts because they look like banana boats. This back and forth is getting tiresome. Is this really worth a three part reunion?
Porsha, the pampered princes, is next. We see scenes of Porsha prancing around, attempting to sing with her congloberation, thinking there are 265 days in a year, saying people are guilty until proven guilty, not wanting to go a strip club and fighting with Kordell about wanting a baby and a career. Porsha states that Kordell and her are doing great even though they are going through some struggles and people are judging them unfairly. She was hoping to get advice from the other ladies but she felt they were knocking her down especially when she refused to go to the strip club. Nene feels that Kordell is a lot like Gregg was but she stands by what she said that Kordell is controlling. Porsha says no one has asked her what is going on and that her husband loves her. I feel bad about Porsha watching this later on knowing that Kordell filed for divorce shortly after this reunion was filmed.
Porsha feels the other ladies should uplift her and Nene feels this is not the show to be on for that. Nene states the other ladies will support you if someone dies. Porsha feels everyone was genuine towards her except for Kenya. She feels that her and Kordell are not perfect and gives an impassioned speech how she is going to represent her relationship with Kordell to the world. She wants more from her relationships with these women. She wants to be strong like them, have a career and take care of her man & cook his meals. She is going on and on about breaking the tv wall, having real relationships and wanting more for herself. Cynthia says she felt the same way her first season, putting her relationship on screen and she just has to swallow everyone’s judgment of it. Nene says everyone has gone through what she has gone through and they all got hit harder than the OC girls. Kandi apologized to Porsha regarding what she said about her marriage. Peter feels pissed off that Kordell is not there and he is supposed to be sitting behind her. Porsha is not looking emotional like in the promos. Andy asks about her singing voice and if she wants to defend her voice by singing. She gets excited and stands up while Kenya is looking annoyed. She does a few lines of Amazing Grace and she sounds way better than Kim, the countess and Gretchen put together.
Andy gives out presents – tshirts that says twirl, twirl in a twirl. Kenya jokes Bravo is going to make more money that her on the tshirts. Andy then jokes that the lawyer is going to get a backend.
Andy feels that the ladies supported each other more this season than any other. Nene agrees that the show this season is a lot less negative. Kandi felt the show was funny this season. Andy feels the lawyer took a lot at the reunion and she took it well. Nene feels there should be another cast member and she will talk to him in his office soon. That’s it folks. The end of the fifth season.

- Idries and Jamil Abdur-Rahman Eliminated in leg 2

Leg 9 – Berlin, Germany – The Ultimate Fun house.
Welcome back race fans. Last week we left off in Switzerland as Alabama was shown the race door after incurring a 30 minute penalty for not doing one of the tasks properly. That gave YouTube enough time to slip into 5th place and send them packing as it was, an elimination round. This week, we are going to Dresden, Germany, by train. Once there they have to get to the Ministry of Finance and find their Ford Fusions to get their next clue. This is another equalization starting point, they are all on the same train. For the record however, Hockey, Derby, Newlyweds, Country, and Youtube, in that order get to the ticket counter for the train. They have to walk from there to the train station because the cabs are all busy. While they are on the train, sleeping, apparently thievery is among them because someone has taken off with Bate’s backpack. No worries though, he has his passport and one of their race girlfriends (I still don’t know which one) offers him some of her underwear if he thinks he can use it.
Once they get to the station. they have to take a taxi to the Ministry of Finance to find the cars and their next clue. It tells them that they have to first, answer 3 inspired race questions on the text screen in the car. Newlyweds are there first and the first question was, Which President said “Tear Down This Wall”… Max answers, JFK 🙄 Yes, the correct answer (Ronald Reagan) was among the choices. After the computer told him he got it wrong he guessed correctly. He says he is embarrassed because Ron was his favorite president. Second question, Who did he say it to? Gorbachev. Third question.. Where did he say it.. Berlin. That’s where they are going next folks. Berlin, to the Brandenburg Gate. The other 4 teams get the right answers as we are shown.. Youtube, who were born after the Berlin wall fell, were fortunate enough this was a multiple choice quiz and Meghan seemed to guess the correct answers. Otherwise, they would probably be still sitting in that parking lot. Meghan’s answer to the first one was Roosevelt (bless her heart).. Then, Clinton.. Really Meghan? That’s okay.. The country singers thought that the wall was, The Great Wall Of China… Not sure but I think that was Jennifer.. Really? You’re in Germany, and you ask if the wall, was the great wall of China? These two teams finally get it right thanks to multiple choice and as they are leaving (Newlyweds are long gone), Hockey and Derby moms arrive. Both of them seem to have a clue. So now the race is on again.
Now they all have to drive to Berlin and get to the Brandenburg Gate to find their next clue. It’s about a 100 mile trip from Dresden to Berlin. They are to go to the Park Inn Hotel and get to the roof. Guess what they are doing from there? Yep, Jumping off. This is a controlled base jump as they are via a small crane it looks like, hung out over the edge and then lowered down, quickly (I don’t know if this was a free fall or not), to a waiting platform back at street level. There, they will get their next clue. Newlyweds get to this first and complete the jump.
Meanwhile, Somehow, Hockey caught up to Country on the Autobahn and now they are traveling in a pair. They get lost or can’t find the gate so they stop and ask and are on their way. Country gets stopped at a light and for the next several minutes, it isn’t looking good for them. Somehow, YouTube beats both of them to the gate and they are now in second place (and stay there). Derby moms find it next and for some reason, as Hockey is on the way in, they tell the guys where to find the clue box. In the end here, all the teams find their clue, find the Park Hotel (it’s only the tallest building around), and jump off of the roof.
Next clue is a detour.. Font Follies or Train Trials. Both of these involve a museum of sorts. Font Follies, they have to collect two huge lit letters and deliver them to The Museum of Letters. There are several letters to choose from of course. Train Trials, they have to set up a train track, using all the pieces provided, in the space provided. Then, run the train around the track without any mishaps (derailments, bumping into anything, etc). I’m not sure but this may also be timed. Initially, YouTube is the only one to choose Train Trials. The rest, choose Font Follies. The strategy for the latter one is to choose a letter than can easily be carried through the streets of Berlin. By the way, these letters must remain completely intact. One more catch, once they choose a letter, they cannot switch (I don’t think this one came into play). YouTube gets the train task done. They had to run their course 7 or 8 times but it’s done and they are out of there. Newlyweds finish the letters task as well and both are on their way to the next location. One of the hockey player’s letters falls over while they are trying to get directions and breaks. So, either they go back for another or do the other task. They choose to do the Train Trials instead. I think it took 10 courses around the track to get it right for them. Country and Derby get their letters delivered.
Next is a roadblock. Okay.. All of that letter carrying and train layout building is to get them to the “Salon Zur Wilden Renate”. It’s a nightspot with something extra in the back. It is a labyrinth maze type fun house that is a cross between Pink Floyd’s “The Wall”, a Halloween fun house, and a fever dream. To gain entrance to the maze to search the next clue, the team member playing has to identify to the doorman, which president said, in Berlin “Ich Bin Ein Berliner” (I am a Berliner).. Most teams have to find somebody to ask, the answer is JFK. Once they do that, the team member can enter the labyrinth. Katie is askeered or so she would have us believe. Joey is enjoying it. He says it is the top roadblock in Amazing Race history. I think it is Jennifer who does it for Country (still don’t know which is which).
Just to lay out where we are team-wise. Newlyweds, YouTube, and Country are finished with the roadblock. Hockey is just finishing the train task of the detour. Derby moms are lost somewhere in Berlin looking for the salon. Derby and Hockey get there about the same time. Mona (I think) does the roadblock and as she is, Anthony is right behind her. This is a race for 4th place. Remember earlier, Derby helped Hockey at the Berlin gate. The two in the maze decide to kind of work together to find the next clue. Anthony finds it first somehow but they both get out of there at about the same time. Now it’s a race to the mat.
The pit stop (that’s where the clue takes them). Newlyweds finish first and each win a 2013 Ford Fusion. Nice. YouTube finishes second. Their best finish yet (I’d kind of like to see them win at least one leg – as long as it isn’t the last one – that is, unless they are against the newlyweds). Country is still comfortably in the middle at third place. Hockey and Derby are in a footrace to the mat, and Hockey beats them there by seconds to take fourth place. That means my favorites, Derby moms, Mona and Beth, are last. I’ll breathe a sigh of relief though, Non Elimination Round. Yay! They’re still in it (yes, I know I groaned when Newlyweds got that same break). This means, they will have to do a speed bump in the next round but at least, they still have a fighting chance.
See you next week. Peace, MTH aka WTFIJeff
PS.. Sorry folks, this recap is kind of crappy and all over the place and I have no cool pictures to show you. My computer ate the first draft when something crashed and I honestly wasn’t feeling like staying up til 6am rewriting it while listening to my dog whine about whatever he was whining about. Everything I say happened, did happen, I’m just not positive of the exact order. By the way… I went earlier in the week and looked up Meghan’s youtube channel. She does a lot of stuff there, most of it post teen oriented it seems but, she’s also doing recaps of her and Joey’s participation in the race. You can check her out here if you like at Strawburry17. I think you can also get to Joey’s channel from hers if you’re interested. See you next week.
Happy Birthday AZGirl
