Leg 10 – Edinburgh, Scotland

Welcome back race fans. Last week we were in Berlin, Germany and no one got eliminated. My team, the Derby moms, were last to arrive so this time around they will have to do a speed bump. Newlyweds won the last leg of the race and for their prize they each received a Ford Fusion. We get to see them check out the cars before they head off to get their plane tickets for the next leg. They are of course, first to leave. They open their clue and see they have to get to Edinburgh, Scotland. So they go to a business office (because the airport ticket counters are closed at that hour) and book a 10:40am flight. The other teams go to the airport and YouTube and Derby moms are booked on a 1:00pm flight that connects in Frankfurt (which is a Huge airport). Hockey and Country get stuck on a 4:00 pm flight because YT and Derby got the last seats on the earlier one. Both of them decide to try another airline and are able to get on the same 10:40am flight as Newlyweds. YT and Derby are convinced that they have beaten other teams out of there. Newlyweds aren’t all too happy to see the Hockey boys and the Country girls on the same flight as them. There goes their big advantage. It’s worth noting that this is a double U turn episode. Also, times noted above are arrival times.

tar1Once the teams get to Scotland, they are to jump in a car and drive to Edinburgh Castle for their next clue. The first three teams arrive at 10:40 and find their cars and they are off. Chatter is that they will U turn YT and Derby. Caroline (country) can’t seem to get up any speed on the highway. That’s what happens when you drive with the parking brake on. Newlyweds aren’t too happy that they are traveling in a bit of a pack. I’m beginning to hate Katie. She just has that bitch look about her, to me. Later, Derby and YT land and discover that they are not in first place but in last place. They are certain they will be turned and Derby also has a speed bump to deal with at some point. Not looking too good for my favorite teams at this point. Yeah, okay, I like Meghan and as long as he isn’t screaming like a little girl, Joey doesn’t seem like a bad guy so, YT has become a bit of a favorite of mine. Still pulling for Derby moms though.

tar2The teams begin to arrive at the castle and their clue is a roadblock. In order to get their next clue, they have to play with ‘The Royal Scots’, Scotland’s national bagpipe troupe. One member from each team has to dress in the garb and learn to play a single note on the bagpipes. They must hold that note while marching around that balcony with the group. If they waiver from that note, they have to start over. I learned something new here. I didn’t know it but to hold a steady note, there has to be a steady flow of air (which makes sense if I think about it). You have to keep the bag full enough while squeezing it just enough to give the proper note. Blowing too hard into the mouthpiece can also mess it up. This march will take a bout 2 minutes. Max, Bates, Caroline do the task for the first three teams. The guys get through it pretty quick but Caroline has a little trouble with it. She can’t get her dry mouth to seal around the mouthpiece. Odd that the guys could… Hmmmm. (sorry). Later, Derby and YT take on the task. Meghan for YT and Mona for Derby. Mona got through it pretty quick but Meghan had trouble getting the hang of the bagpipes. She played trumpet for 4 years she says but that’s a different kind of mouthpiece. She said that by the time she got it right, she and the 70 year old coach had made out via that mouthpiece. Okay, Meghan…

The clue they get after the bagpipes is to go to Craigmiller Castle and search the fireplaces for the next clue. This is also where the speedbump is for the Derby moms. In order, Hockey, Newlyweds, and Country get to the castle (followed by YT and Derby later on). The place is dark and there is only one clue hidden in a given fireplace and there are no hints. The clue is a detour. Tasty Pudding or Whiskey Rolling. For the Pudding task, the teams must learn to and also prepare Haggis (Scotland’s national dish). For those who don’t know, This is Ox (or other) intestine filled with various organ meats, grain, and spices. I think the filling is prepared for them but I’m not certain of that. They have to make 4 lumps of this stuff and then taste it to get their next clue. Whiskey rolling, they have to deliver 8 barrels of whiskey, up hill, to a festival. Hockey takes on the whiskey task and Newlyweds and Country take on the Haggis making (it’s about this time that Derby and YT get to the first task at Edinburgh Castle). They all get through their respective tasks without too much trouble.

tar6

tar7

The next clue tells the teams to go to Duddingston Kirk to find the next clue. The next clue will take them to the pit stop. It is also the location where the U Turn is. Hockey gets there first and they UT YouTube. Newlyweds UT Derby moms. There is no one for Country to UT since both are taken (this isn’t a blind one either) so they can just go to the pit stop. They had to park and go on foot to the pit stop so somehow, Newlyweds got their first. They won $10k each. Hockey comes in second, Country is third. Yay… I guess. None of them are my favorites but good for them.

tar8

Okay… The Derby moms get to the castle with the fireplaces but hit their speed bump. The speedbump is to complete one round of ‘Skittles’ which is, just like Bowling but the balls don’t have any holes. Essentially all they have to do is roll a strike. All 10 pins in one shot. They also have to set their own pins and retrieve their own balls. They have to do it a few times before they get it done. Meanwhile, YT can’t seem to find the Craigmiller Castle to find the next clue. As a result, the Derby moms finish their speedbump and arrive back at the castle the same time as YT. It is now dark and there are no lights in this place. Remember too there is only one clue in each of these fireplaces and there are more than five fire places. YT finds a clue and they choose the pudding task. Meghan tells Joey he doesn’t want to know what Haggis is. Derby finds the clue as well and also choose the Haggis task. Both teams take off (Derby has already been to these locations when they went for their speedbump), Derby is in front. They would like to shake YT but can’t so they say they’ll just have to do the detour better than YT. Not so fast ladies. Both of you will be doing both detours but you both have to get to the u-turn board before you find that out.

Derby gets out of the Haggis first, and discover they’ve been turned. YT has a little trouble getting those intestines properly stuffed so there is no air but they eventually get it done. By the time they discover they’ve been turned, Derby is working on the 3rd and 4th barrels of whiskey. After the first two, YT decides to work together on one at a time. Obviously, Derby finishes first. They are far stronger than Meghan and Joey. YouTube does finish with their teamwork and it’s an apparent race to the pit stop. It’s a nerve racking drive for both as they both seem to get lost. We don’t get to see if they find the proper parking lot (which is what cost Hockey first place in this leg). We just see Derby moms taking 4th place and YouTube coming in last. Yes, it is an elimination round, so they are gone.

Next week kiddies, this race is Ovah ๐Ÿ˜€ It’s a two hour tour, probably the first hour eliminates one team and then final three fight it out in the second hour. Newlyweds seem to be catching their stride, Hockey has never lost theirs. Country is always somewhere in the middle and I’m not counting the now, last place, Derby moms out just yet. I’m a little bit disappointed that YT and/or Derby couldn’t have shoved that u-turn down someone elses throat(s) but that’s the way the ball bounces.

That’s all folks. Watch it commercial free here if you like, contact me if you have trouble with the link. Or watch it at CBS.COM or On Demand if you have it.

See you next week. Peace, MTH aka WTFIJeff

Dancing with the Stars by Lisette

It’s Latin night in the ballroom and Juanes will be performing! For the first time a couple will be granted immunity. There will be a dance-off for the remaining couples. The winners of the dance-off will each receive 3 extra points. Now onto the dancing…

Jacoby & Karina – Salsa – Score 27

  • CAI – 9
  • LG – 9
  • BT – 9

The pressure is on for Jacoby as he went down in the scoring last week. Practice is killing Jacoby as he needs to take a day off for a massage and day in ice. You can see Jacoby is tired. He almost drops Karina during one of the lifts! EEK! OMG! He did a running jump over Karina and I thought he was going to take her head off but she grabs his legs so I guess it is part of the routine. I actually let out a yelp because I thought it was a mistake…lol! Len liked it. Said there was an earthquake because he rocked the place. And Mama Jacoby starts heckling Len. Really cute. Len would have preferred less lifts and a little more dancing. Bruno says the fiesta has begun. Then Bruno starts gyrating his hips mimicking Jacoby’s dancing and called Karina Iron Man for all the flying she was doing. Carrie Ann says Jacoby has such a natural ability that he could fart the salsa. She said he has the right flavor fart. I think that made sense in her head. JR Martinez is in the audience and Karina gave him a big kiss and hug.

Ingo & Kym – Rumba – Score 22

  • CAI – 7
  • LG – 8
  • BT – 7

Ingo is having trouble with the hip action as all non-dancers do. For playing a leading man on a soap Ingo has a little bit of a problem being sexy man. He’s a little stiff and you can tell he is concentrating really hard during the dance. It was a good effort. Bruno says hips don’t lie but in Ingo’s case he wishes they could. He called the dance staccato and the intention was good but the hips needed help. Carrie Ann agrees with Bruno that the dance lacked fluidity and that he was really concentrating throughout the dance. She felt it was lacking connection since he was thinking too much. Len said it was like the Lakers, you give it your best shot but you didn’t quite deliver in the end. He thought the lines were good but it was a difficult dance and it was good.

Kellie & Derek – Samba – Score 29

  • CAI – 9
  • LG – 10
  • BT – 10

Kellie has three concerts and has to learn her dances so it was a very stressful week for her. She looks great with the long hair wig from last week. The dance is really good especially the last step. She did a really funky move with her leg that was awesome! Carrie Ann said when she dances she sees perfection but she doesn’t feel her when she dances. Carrie Ann feels the dances lack emotional connection. Len says it was a mix of booty bounce and bongos. He disagrees with Carrie Ann and says it was brilliant. Bruno says it was the perfect balance of technique and performance. Everything you would want from a samba was there.

Andy & Sharna – Rumba – Score 17

  • CAI – 5
  • LG – 6
  • BT – 6

Andy has to bring the sexy and well it is very hard for Andy to be sexy. I like the set-up with the costumes. It plays to Andy’s strengths. Sharna didn’t try to make him sexy but I don’t know if I would call this a samba. It’s a lot of Sharna dancing around Andy. Len like the fun and entertainment and Andy’s enthusiasm. As a rumba it was more erratic than erotic. Bruno said Andy took an unforgettable dance and Bruno wishes he could forget what he saw. Basically Andy ruined the rumba for him. Carrie Ann said he touches us when he dances but he needs to work more on his technique. She called his arms spassy.

Alexandra & Mark – Salsa – Score 29

  • CAI – 10
  • LG – 9
  • BT – 10

So Mark injured himself during practice. He either has a sprained back or an injured disk. Aly feels bad because she thinks it is her fault. Aly has to practice with Henry but she doesn’t know who she will be dancing with on Monday. Looks like Mark made it through. This looks like the most fun Aly has ever had. The dance is lively and loads of fun and Aly has the best smile on her face throughout the whole dance. You can tell they cut some of the lifts but the dance did not suffer for it. Bruno called Aly the spice of his life. Tutti frutti delicious cocktail and he’ll have one of those please. Carrie Ann loved it. She said she nailed it. And then Carrie Ann and Bruno start gyrating to Len. Len called it like a tequila sunrise it was sharp and fruity it was tasty and refreshing. He would have liked a more recognizable salsa but said it was fun. (Until Len said salsa I thought they were dancing the samba…oops!)

Sean & Peta – Rumba – Score 24

  • CAI – 8
  • LG – 8
  • BT – 8

It is hard for Sean to pretend to have feelings for Peta to make the dance sexy. So they have Katherine come in to have Sean dance with someone he does love. This is like one big promo for the televised wedding that is soon to happen. This dance was, to me, worse than Andy’s. Sean was stiff and quite honestly it was boring. Carrie Ann is impressed and said the music was pulsating through him and thought it was wonderful. Len said it was like a match, Peta was fire and Sean was wooden…LOL! He hated how his hands were flapping. Bruno called him a vision in gray, 50 shades of Sean. Disagreed with Len about the musicality but said it was so much better.

Zendaya & Val – Paso Doble – Score 27

  • CAI – 9
  • LG – 9
  • BT – 9

Zendaya is finding it hard to match Val’s intensity. She’s going to act because she doesn’t know how to be so intense…The dance was just stunning! She was ah-ma-zing! The crowd is going nuts as they should! Len loves it. He actually sounds like Bruno the way he is effusing. His only criticism is she did not keep her chin up. Bruno says she looks like an angel and dances like a fury. He loved the flamenco beginning and agrees with Len about the chin. Carrie Ann says the lines were gorgeous but it was missing a bit of the depth of the strength like a song missing the bass line.

Kelly and Derek have the highest cumulative total so they are safe from elimination tomorrow. Everyone else will participate in the dance-off and will add to their scores from tonight. While everyone else goes to change they have a performance by Juanes with dancing from the pros. I love that Juanes is getting this exposure. I know he’s huge in the Latin community so its nice to see him on mainstream American TV.

Alexandra & Mark and Andy & Sharna will dance off together with the Cha Cha. So instead of dancing together they each danced for 40 seconds individually. Now everything is rush rush because they wait until the last darn minute for everything. Now judges comments and the winner is Alexandra & Mark. Next round is Zendaya & Val and Jacoby & Karina dancing Jive. Zendaya and Jacoby are equally good so this one is going to be hard! And the winner is Zendaya & Val. Last dance off is Sean & Peta and Ingo & Kym dancing the rumba. That means the two most boring will dance the rumba which IMO is the most boring dance. Don’t mean to offend any rumba lovers! And the winner is Ingo & Kym. So all the winners have 3 points added to their scores. So on top of the leader-board are Alexandra & Mark and at the bottom are Andy & Sharna. That’s it for tonight folks! See everyone for the results.

  1. Boobah says:

Good morning everyone! Thanks for the blog and recaps – always a good read. Hope everyone has a good day!

  2. missusmc says:

    Good morning, Ladies ๐Ÿ™‚
I just want to say that I am officially done with RHOC (I know many have said it, but I will prevail in this). There is not one good person on the show at this point, and it’s exhausting. I have given it (admittedly way too much) thought, and I wanted to share my final thoughts on the “bullygate” situation.
In the parameters of “real life,” then yes, Alexis is being bullied. However, under the premise of reality tv, she is not. She is employed by Bravo to have her life filmed and interact with the ladies. Tamra is one of those ladies. If Alexis is truly needing to be medicated for interacting with Tamra, perhaps she needs a new career choice. Not everyone is cut out for every job. To have Alexis say that she is weak and can’t defend herself is like me deciding to be a policeman and complain that the criminals are too mean, or if I decided to be a lion tamer and complained that the lions were trying to eat me. It is in the criminal’s nature to hate cops, and in the lion’s nature to eat people. It is in Tamra’s (and her coven of Heather and Gretchen) nature to be hateful. Bravo has chosen to continue to employ them, and Alexis either needs to deal with it or move on. Perhaps last year I would have been more sympathetic, but she knew what the deal is this season, and she is voluntarily going into it while playing the victim. You can’t have it both ways. These women are seeking fame and money and have no discernible talents other than wearing tacky, age inappropriate clothes, drinking, and fighting. I think all the ladies get what they deserve. They have sold their lives and families out for 15 minutes of fame.
No one is forcing the Bellinos to keep their OC lifestyle. I know if I were working a job that required Xanax, my husband and I would make the decision to have me quit and pursue something that would not jeopardize my health, even if it meant a lifestyle change. None of these women have any reason to complain. They went in, eyes wide open, and I have zero sympathy for any of them.

    • BB says:

Welcome to the no longer watching RHOOC club. I no longer watch it and now I’m trying not to even talk about them. It’s getting easier and easier.

      • missusmc says:

Ha! It makes me a little sad, because I can’t watch RHONJ, either (I will not support Jacqueline Laurita using her autistic child to stay on the show.) They need to double up on Atlanta, because really, those are the only ladies I honestly like at this point.

        • BB says:

Except for the time I took over recapping RHONJ when Lynn passed away, I’ve never watched RHONJ on a regular basis. I’ve never watched Miami and I stopped watchting Atlanta after the first two seasons. The only ones left that I watch are Beverly Hills and New York, and I’m about over them too.

    • HuskerHuny says:

I agree totally with everything you said. But I can’t quit watching because I have to see the three harpies get their due be it fired or someone finally lays into them and tells them what they are. I’m all about the revenge. But I’m also about seeing someone admit their wrong doings and genuinely repent. Will this happen? I’m guessing . . . not! But I will tell you this, if it gets much worse, I will have to turn the channel. I think OC has bottomed out!

      • Powell says:

I tweeted Andy, BravoTV & Tamra that I’m totally disgusted with Tamra. #NoMoreTamraNextSesson

    • LaineyLainey says:

I agree with a lot of what you’re saying. But I want to add that I once had to take prozac for awhile. My job was making me feel a little depressed and anxious, cause I felt like nothing I did was ever really good enough. I COULD NOT QUIT THAT JOB. I did not quit that job. Guess what that depressing job was?…..being a wife and mother. I wasn’t playing victim, but I couldn’t just say, oh,..”.I have to turn to meds…so I guess this means I should quit these jobs.” I get it that you think Alexis should just quit the show, because from what we can see she doesn’t need the show at the cost of needing to take Xanax and it looks like she COULD quit (unlike I couldn’t just up and quit my marriage and motherhood). The prozac helped me to stop reacting to stress (like a victim) and to learn new coping methods. I wasn’t prescribed the stuff to help me escape…it actually did help me learn how to cope and think things through sans the anxiety and depression. Not sure Xanax will do the same for Alexis. I only took it for a couple of years and I’m not ashamed of it. I needed help and I got it.

Alexis is stubborn, I think. She was on WWHL and she said that part of why she went back on the show was to show her kids that you don’t quit things. Actually, I wonder why no one ever suggests that if the other women hate her so much, maybe THEY should quit the show. The show is turning them into unhappy vile creatures from what I can see. But of course, they won’t and shouldn’t quit just because I think and say they should. Just as Alexis won’t and shouldn’t quit just because some viewers think and say she should. Perhaps she is trying to shake the role of “victim” by not letting the bullies push her off of the show. That would be a win for them and maybe she doesn’t want to let them win.

      • pat says:

I think Lainey nailed it re Alexis being stubborn. She doesn’t seem to have any capacity to receive negative information about herself, even when it’s delivered as kindly as possible (via Lydia). She talks really, really fast, and just keeps sticking to her story. She would get on my last nerve. She does not deserve the gang up attack that she’s getting from the 3 mean girls, however. Even though Tamra is the biggest b!tch of them all, to me Gretchen sinks the lowest in my esteem. Tamra never pretended to be Alexis’s friend. Gretchen uses everyone. She’ll even sleep with an elderly man, dying of cancer, while he’s buying her diamonds & pink harleys and promising her big $$ when he dies. She did an interview where she admitted Jeff told her she was going to receive $2 million from his estate. But he was so in debt, that didn’t happen. She would have taken that money if it had been there for her, even tho he had several children, and she was faking her relationship with him all along. That’s whatcha call a whore.

        • Catseye says:

You took the words out of my mouth, pat.

        • mygirlsmom says:

I couldn’t agree more with your assessment. It was a real eye opener seeing how Alexis reacted to Lydia’s constructive criticism. I also think Gretchen is the worst of the three mean girls by the way she betrayed Alexis’ trust.

          • Powell says:

Gretchen is just following Tweddle dee. She’s Tweddle dumb in my book. If Tamra was giving Alexis love, kindness & friendship bracelets & rings Gretchen would be right there doing the same. Gretchen is a follower.

      • iceNfire says:

(((Lainey))) Good for you! You needed help and you got it. It’s sad when people dont/wont realize that they need help So happy you made it thru that life experience with flying colors. I dont think Alexis should quit the show she would miss out on this huge life lesson and having this rare opportunity should be taken advantage of …. wait – did i just do a 180? yes i think my last comment was about my quitting a job when the crew turned against me…apples and oranges

      • Contessa says:

Applause, applause, applause. I get it, when I was going through my divorce and losing my Dad at the same exact time, the depression was hit me with a hurrican force. My doctor put me on celexa and it was the best thing ever, as it took the edge of off things and I was able to deal with issues from a much better place. It does not make the depression/or feelings go away, it just makes it more manageable somehow – at least that is the way I see it. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your last paragraphy – let theharridan hags quit and I say good for Alexis for staying on and also for making a wonderful impression on WWHL last night. She looked classy and elegant, was well spoken and most of all kind to a viewer that did not agree with her. She made Tramprat look like trailer trash garbage.

        • Powell says:

I hope Tamra is fired and,Alexis is asked back. Tamra will say she decided not to come back so she could spend more time building her biz. Ugh.

      • missusmc says:

I see your point. I just wish Alexis would have quit. If the three hags had no one to berate, what would the show consist of? Nothing. Alexis fans probably wouldn’t be watching anyway, and I really think viewers would have tuned out. The only way Tamra will be brought down is if people stop watching. Bravo only cares about ratings.

        • Catseye says:

Unfortunately, I believe that Tamra would find another meek person to victimize. People like her thrive on putting other people down, that’s the only way they are able to feel good about who they are.

        • Powell says:

They would just be on Vicki more than they are now.

      • trudie says:

        (((lainey)))

      • Powell says:

Lainey I’m glad the meds helped you & you learned new coping skills. I’m not a doc but I suppose that is what they are suppose to do. And you are now off of them & I think that’s what docs want their patients to do. Like I said last night when Miss Know it All Heather said basically Alexis has nothing wrong where she needs meds I say Heather doesn’t know why Alexis needed or needs the meds. Frankly Alexis just needs to slap the hell out if them & get it over with. ๐Ÿ™‚

        • LaineyLainey says:

Thanks, Powell…I did learn and I continue to learn!! Your last sentence cracked me up…you are fantasizing, Powellypooh!! or saying what everybody else is thinking.

    • jules says:

Excellent post miss usmc. I agree with most of what you wrote. We only differ on Alexis and the bullying. While I agree that she chose to come on the show so she should have expected what happened, it is still bullying. Unless she signed a contract that read she has to allow herself to be bullied, then I don’t blame her for being upset or using the word. As someone who is on xanax for anxiety myself, I can relate to Alexis and I can say that it is seldom one thing or situation that forces one to take medication. For me it was several things over a period of a couple of years that finally pushed me to it. I found that simple things that had never have upset me in the past were because my coping skills were exhausted from dealing with the stressful things. My best guess is that something similar happened to Alexis. Between her family’s financial issues and being the black sheep amoung the OC housewives, she was pushed to the edge. I agree that Alexis should not be on the show. She is not cold-blooded enough to handle the Witches of OC. Until this weekend, I had not watched even one episode of OC because the of terrible trio of Tamra, Gretchen and Heather. But there was a marathon this weekend so I watched. I found myself yelling at the screen and muting it whenever most of them spoke. I truly felt sick to my stomach when the dinner started and the pile-on of Alexis began. Yes, she was naive to go there thinking there would be no drama but I don’t think any of it was fair. I did not watch last night as I was nice and relaxed and wanted to stay that way…LOL! But I’m certain I only missed more of the same.

      • mrs peabody says:

I think it’s a hostile work environment and the bosses need to have a talk with the 3 causing the problems and maybe fire them. Why does someone have to work in that environment? I don’t care if it’s a reality show or not it’s still very hostile.

        • iceNfire says:

The only problem I see with firing the 3 witches is that it puts Icky back in charge and I cant have that ..just cant have that NoooO (in Gretchens voice)

          • Powell says:

I think Vicki has somewhat been humbled. She’s divorced and is dating a guy somewhat like Slade w/not paying alimony. All the names she called Slade apply to Brooks.

        • Powell says:

You are right. She should sue Bravo for allowing the hostile work environment.

          • missusmc says:

I would love to read their contracts and if it says that they are subject to being made fun of (whatever the legal terms of that would be). The three witches keep saying that they all signed up for it- wouldn’t it be awful if in their sign on agreement Bravo encourages This behavior?

    • lizzle says:

ITA MissUSMC! I truly believe that mean and bully are not interchangeable words.

      • Cityside says:

Right, one person can be just plain ole mean, three people being mean all the time and pointing out what they think are YOUR flaws – well, sorry that IS being a bully and they know it!

        City

        • mrs peabody says:

I guess it could be said by Alexis telling them they are bullies is kind of like her pointing out their flaws. Seems like they have a problem with her doing that.

          • Powell says:

They do. I want Tamra to tell Alexis the real truth of why she doesn’t like her. The “you talk about things you have all the time” isn’t cutting it w/me. That’s not a reason.

        • missusmc says:

I think Alexis needs to own her part of this, too. I am NOT blaming her for the coven being so hateful. Don’t get me wrong. But you also know that if you poke a tiger with a stick, you’re going to get hurt. When Tamra started by saying she was upset that she even showed up, Alexis, knowing how volatile the situation was going to get, could have simply said something along the lines of “I’m sorry you’re uncomfortable. Would you like me to leave?” That way, she was not the one fighting (because she really did snap at Heather and was aggressive towards her, too) and Tamra just looks like a mean girl. At some point, you need to realize that you’re not going to win. You can’t make the coven have class. Alexis needs to be the bigger person and not engage and not take the bait.

        • lizzle says:

I disagree… but I got to get off this merry-go-round and just let it go. Woohoo! Jumping off was fun!

    • Powell says:

I totally understand w/no sympathy for any of them & I have said Alexis needs to put a stop to the treatment she receives or not get into those situations but to me there’s a bigger picture and its not really Tamra & Alexis that I’m thinking of. It’s their children especially their daughters. I am so glad I’m not in school at this time. Kids are just so much more cruel today & it starts at home. From the tweets some of you said Tamra was responding to last night she doesn’t get it, doesn’t want to get it & thinks its just fine. How would she feel if Alexis’ daughters did to Tamra’s daughters what Tamra does to Alexis. That’s the bigger picture. And we don’t know but Tamra’s grown daughters are going to be out here in our world one day. It would be horrific if any if us our our families & kids encounter them.

      • missusmc says:

I agree that in the “big picture” this is a huge problem. Haven’t we all encountered that angry trashy girl who has to bully everyone she is around? I sure have. That’s why I’m done with the show. I will not be a part of Tamra being rewarded for bad behavior. I’m not trying to be anti Alexis at all. I just have learned that you can dig in and try to make trash better, or you can realize that trash will be trash and you can either rise above or be dragged down. Alexis needs to rise above. It may not seem right at the time, and it may seem like Tamra is winning, but truly, Alexis would be the winner in the grand scheme of life.

        • designernailsdiana says:

The biggest problem is the entire season is “In the can” as they say. It’s filmed and done. I’d be thrilled if Bravo and the Characters would take our viewers advice and make some changes for NEXT season. Bring back the FUN!!!!
Kudos that we all know when life gives us lemons(not the cool type that Yoyo has). We know when to chat with the Dr about stress and not letting life kick our asses. I have taken Zoloft and am on Xanax right now. Oh gee no stress in my life huh? ๐Ÿ˜ƒ I know when I need help and I’m not ashamed to ask for it. The last 3 weeks have been off the charts stressful so my body is giving me little signs like a dizzy spell or shot of chest pain. I’m listening so I can be here for Mother’s Day to sleep late and do whatever I want to do.
Oops I got off track lol
Anyway…. Lets go back to encouraging each other. OC could learn from us.

          • Powell says:

Diana I hope you are asking for whatever & wherever you need the help from. Those symptoms don’t sound good. Take care of yourself.

    • Formerly Addicted to Bravo says:

Agree 100% and I too am steadfastly not watching this show and have found inner peace ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. The judges in DWTS are getting so over the top – I guess they think they are the entertainment. Go Kellie and Aly. Whoot whoot!

  4. So was that show on last night about the old guy and the woman with the tacky dresses an edition of hoarders? I feel horrible for all their former employees, but that family is STRANGE.

    • pat says:

Are you talking about that Versaille show? I watched about the first 20 minutes of it. That was bizzaro!! Freaked me out when I realized that was a dead dog in the background, behind the husband sitting on his throne, while he was being interviewed. I would never want a home that gigantic. No thanks.

    • Sus says:

I watched the whole Versailles show like it was a trainwreck. I couldn’t look away. I found the scene in Walmart absolutely revolting. How about love your kids instead of loving them through “stuff”.
In one breath she’s talking about how they have to cut back, her husband is stressed out because they have no money and this broad is in the plastic surgeon’s office having some stupid procedure done that doesn’t even do anything but make her look more haggard than she already looks.
I think that documentary was supposed to be another Real Housewives type show but they went broke instead.

    • BB says:

That’s the second article I’ve seen about her being on RHOBH.

    • She is pretty….but I love it when the newbies say they “don’t have the same issues as the other housewives”. Snort. Ohhhh, reeeeeaalllly? So what are ya going on the show for then? ๐Ÿ™„

    • kit9 says:

      God, no more models!

      • melthehound says:

        +100

      • LaineyLainey says:

Hey!! Models are people, too!! They can’t help it that they’re beautiful skinny bitches who tower over the rest of us and make us feel/look like stumpy rollie pollies. Oh wait, maybe that’s just me? and I’m the mother of a model!!! LOLOLOL!!!!!

        • Cathy Connor says:

Funny Lainey…. dont ya wanna hand them a cheeseburger lol Hope your daughter is like that coco rocha she seems very real and is a great model loved her on The Face . What the heck happened to that show I wanna know who won wth lost track of that show did you watch it ??

          • Lisette (2) says:

Hi Cathy Connor, Devyn won the face. She was on Karolina’s team. I liked Coco on that show too but Naomi was way over the top for me to enjoy the show. I would record it and watch it on fast forward…LOL! I’m not sure if it is coming back for a second season.

            • Cathy Connor says:

Oh Thank You I dont know how I lost track of it should have set it up as a series…Agree about Naomi was not a fan of hers but did enjoy the show too. Thanks for the update Lissette Enjoy your day

        • Powell says:

          That’s right Lainey. ๐Ÿ™‚

      • Powell says:

Well she’s a mom turned model. To me not the typical model. She’s very pretty. She, Brandi & Yo can hang out.

  5. Powell says:

Good morning everyone. It’s a rainy day. The sun is hiding. I hope you all are smiling in the sunshine today.

Grassy thks for your take on bullying last night. It’s a shame you & your staff have to endure such treatment from the public. I know these reality show personalities throw around the word bullying but I’m glad there is a continuous conversation because its a real issue.

I believe Alexis feels she is being bullied. She can’t help the way she feels but she can take herself out of these situations.

    Have a great day everyone.

    • HuskerHuny says:

It was a balmy 72 degrees when I got up this morning. But I will wake up to 40 degrees tomorrow with a possibility of . . . I can’t say it . . . AAAAUUUUGGGGHHH!

I’m cheering for the hockey brothers on AR. They have played a good, strong game without being nasty to others or each other as well. I think it will be a race to the finish. That one teeny tiny mistake from any team will certainly doom them. Keep up the great recaps Mel!

A few weeks ago I told you about Jack Hoffman, a pediatric brain cancer patient, who got to score a touchdown at the Husker spring game. He got to meet President Obama yesterday. His You Tube video has received over 8 million hits. That little boy has done so much to bring attention to this disease and Husker Nation is so proud of him and his amazing family. If you want a feel good moment and haven’t done so already, check out You Tube and search Jack Hoffman. After watching so much HW junk, it will pick you up for sure!

      • Seriously HuskerHuny….72 degrees one day and 40 with snow the next? That is some strange weather patterns! I am sorry for saying the “S” word. It was 93 yesterday and 95 today here….would GLADLY trade your snow day with you tomorrow! ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

      • Cathy Connor says:

Am with ya HusterHony like the hockey players .. More s@&% for you omg dont know how you do it going to be 82 here thought we had a long winter you really get it wow Hope spring gets there soon and stays !!!!

      • ladebra says:

When I heard the national weather, I thought “poor Husker more snow!”

      • Kansas Girl says:

The forecast is the same here. It’s 79 out right now and beautifully sunny. We’re to get storms this afternoon, late. And then the descent into various versions of cold precipitation. Yuck! I am wishing we could all just stay home and indoors for a couple of days. (Good think I haven’t put any plants outside yet!)

      • Powell says:

Oh no Husker! The S word dare I say? I hope you all don’tgm get any.

    • LaineyLainey says:

Good morning, Powelly!! Gorgeous day here in Central Texas!!

  6. Cathy Connor says:

Good Morning, Thanks for the recaps MTH and Lissette AR was a great episode about 12 years ago my Mom and I went to Scotland Lynn couldnt go because she was pregnant with Bobby ( my parents are from Scotland) We went to visit relatives we rented a car and I did the same darn thing driving with parking brake on.. People were honking at me on highway I felt like such a ninny..We dont use parking brakes in Illinois were flat as a pancake here. I was thinking something was wrong with the car lol. I hope the hockey players win they seem like nice down to earth guys.. Sorry Mel Have a great day honeys !!!!

Had a crazy thought while watching Married to Medicine I noticed Quads hairline is halfway back from her eyebrows and Therea G has a hairline that starts at her eyebrows !! Too much time on my hands need a hobby……

    • LaineyLainey says:

      Love your eyebrow observation. LOL!!!

    • lizzle says:

Teresa has the lowest hairline that I have ever seen in my entire life. There is one pic of her on the interwebs somewhere that really highlights the lowness of the hairline. She has gotten better at using hairstyles to cover it up… but wow… is it low.

Quad gets on my last nerve. I stopped watching Married to Medicine after 3 episodes. But I will check out her hairline.. LOL

      • Cathy Connor says:

Lizzle , Did you see the talking head where she has the feathers on her shoulders top on my goodness her hairline is just above her eyebrows ! Looks crazy I know she cant help it she has quite a head of hair am jelly just wouldnt want it to start so low lol Glad im not the only one that caught that never heard anyone mention it validated Im not cray cray maybe a bit critical but not cray cray today woo hoo

        • lizzle says:

LOL… you are definitely not crazy! Maybe we zone out of the drama and focus on hairlines… I’ve just never noticed it before until now ๐Ÿ™‚ And of course… you got me wanting find that talking head.. just to look at the lowest hairline in the universe.

        • Catseye says:

Rita Hayworth also had a low hairline and went through a lot of painful electrolysis to have it altered. Maybe Teresa should look into that, but I still think she’s rather pretty.

          • Powell says:

Yes she did. One of my fav actresses. I have so many. Gilda & The Lady from Shanghai are my two fav films of hers.

          • LaineyLainey says:

What about Marilyn Monroe? didn’t she have to have her hairline shaped?

          • chismosa says:

So Rita Hayworth did this too wow I thought only Marilyn
I really don’t know why Teresa didnt look into it. It’s not as painful as people think. I’ve had it done.
Not on my hairline though! Wonder maybe it’s painful there

    • melthehound says:

I think a lot of people have driven down the road with the parking brake on. No need to apologize for liking a team other than the one I’m pulling for ๐Ÿ˜‰ The only one I really Don’t want to win is the newlyweds.

  7. Good Morning Lovelies! Good to see you back NMD! And hope your computer issues are resolved. Those are always a pain to deal with! We love you for how you watch out for us!

Thanks for the recaps Lisette & MTH! Love, love, love that this epi was in Scotland. Such a beautiful place I have always wanted to go to. Someday! Haven’t been watching DWTS this season Lisette, so thanks for the updates.

It is Tuesday, so it officially is not the beginning of the week anymore, LOL! My story and I am stickin’ to it! ๐Ÿ˜› Have a great day everyone!

New post, “Tuesday Affirmations ~ Transformation”, is up at my place. Enjoy!
    http://fromthedeskofmardrag.wordpress.com/

    • Cathy Connor says:

Ms Mar if you get a chance go to Scotland its really lovely and the people are extremely friendly and helpful the driving is challenging (left side and round abouts) The countrysides are like a picture postcard with big castles in the center of the fields so neat !!

      • Hey Ms. Cathy! Scotland is definitely on my “traveling to list” for when I get a chance to circle the globe. I love that area of the world, England too….love the rolling green hills, castles and village pubs. Honestly…sometimes I think the stork dropped me on the wrong continent!

Hope all is well with you and family darling lady! Hugs!

        • Cathy Connor says:

Hugs right back to ya doll…Bobby got his cast on finally there was an insurance hiccup but things fine now and were doing fine Thanks ….My Mom was pregnant with me when her and Dad came to this country So I was made in Scotland born in U.S.A. Best of both worlds So happy spring has sprung finally Have a great day sweetness

          • So glad to hear Bobby got his cast and is doing better. Shame on the insurance companies these days!

I did not know your family was from Scotland! How cool. No wonder you all are so awesome! Happy spring has sprung for you too! Blessings!

      • nyc mama says:

Cathy I agree. Beautiful country and such nice people.I took my niece and nephew and they loved it too so it is a great trip for kids. I even got brave and tried a bite of Haggis — never again –and I am a pretty adventurous eater. It was vile.

        • Cathy Connor says:

Kudos to you Ms NYC MAMA for trying it I recommend the fish and chips much better choice lol It is a great trip isnt it !! Beside the 8 hour flight I would go back in a minute a NY minute at that lol

          • nyc mama says:

LOL. It was a dare. ๐Ÿ™‚ It looked as nasty as it tasted. I have been back 2x since and would go again. My job sent me once and DH had a conference there another time so I met him spent a few more days and then went on to Ireland. I love the UK and have been lucky to spend a lot of time there although mostly England. I don’t even mind the flight. I used to travel a lot for my job so learned to fall asleep on planes and wake up just before landing. It’s a gift I am thankful for. Now like pavlov, if I see I plane seat I get tired.

Now fish and chips are a whole nuther story… love em…fried…anything fried – well not anything. I also tried the scottish fav deep fried mars bars. I wasn’t feeling them either and they are part of some of my favorite food groups — the aforementioned fried and chocolate, yet I am not a fan.

          • Powell says:

I love fish & chips. I would love to have authentic f&c. ๐Ÿ™‚

          • chismosa says:

8 hours? Wow! I have flown farther east in Europe for that amount of hours. Maybe the winds and direction have me confused ?

I thought England was like 6 hours? I’ve been it’s just been forever so I don’t remember

    • ladebra says:

I’ve been planning a trip to Scotland in my head for years. I gather tour information, I know the castles I want to visit, I know I want to go to The Isle of Skye, and to The Highlands, and I’m thinking August so I can catch the Royal Military Tattoo in Edinborough…. See lots of thought! I just have to string 2 weeks together where my sister and I are both available and have the money. But it will happen ๐Ÿ˜‰

      • That is awesome ladebra! I have been doing the same thing for a trip to England. Have websites bookmarked and a plan mapped out down to a beautiful little bed & breakfast in the hills of Cotswolds that is purely enchanting. Still working on the time and money too…but it WILL happen! Have fun with your sis on your trip too! ๐Ÿ˜€

        • nyc mama says:

The Cotswold’s are one of my top 5 favorite places in the world and go whenever I can. I have a friend in Cheltenham so try to visit her often and do daytrips and another in London who has a country house in the Cotswolds so whenever I can I go to spend time with her. It is pure heaven and feels like I am in a dream whenever I am there. I even love it in the winter.

Mardrag, you will go I am sure. What is so nice is there are lovely inexpensive places to stay there so it is easily doable if you are on a budget unlike the larger cities.

      • Cathy Connor says:

ladebra, Glasgow is the city near where my family is from Thats a nice place to visit well August you should get good weather . The fish and chips are a must the best out of a newspaper …mouth waterin good Enjoy you will fall in love with the country guarenteed

        • ladebra says:

I love this, just hearing you guys brings it into my minds eye! I’m adding all this info to my diary. This is just one of the many reasons I love the people on this blog. Thanks!

  8. lizzle says:

Good morning! That’s all I got right now ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Jill...no not THAT Jill says:

I don’t get how the 3 witches of the OC think that just b/c Alexis signed on to be on this dumb show that means they can behave like animals. Alexis is on the same show that they are so why is it wrong of her to be annoying to them but right for them to be bitches to her? All Tamra and Gretchen say on twitter is ” she signed up for this”-well I’m calling BS-she didnt sign up for them to be bitches-THEY signed up for that!!!

  10. Cityside says:

Also, I noticed Lydia saw Trampa as she walked up. Did anyone else notice that she changed her tone as soon as she say the tramp? I thought it was dramatic. She did not even mention to either Vicki or Alexis that she was there listening. Oh..oh…that really said something to me about Lydia.

    City

    • mrs peabody says:

I thought she did too. I also thought that was pretty rotten of trampa to listen in on that but oh well it’s trampa I guess you’d expect it from her.

  11. Cityside says:

Nancy….oh….Nancy…can you come out and play tonight?
    Blues V Kings

    City

    • Nancy says:

      Hi Cityside,
You make me laugh. Of course I can come out and play tonight but I’m not sure
the game will be on TV out here. We get the NHL channel so one would think it
would be on. Very frustrating. Now I’m seeing that it will be on the CNBC channel.
I don’t even know if we get that.???? ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

  12. AZGirl says:

Good morning everyone! Had my early rise and shine spin class and lift. It was so beautiful out at 4:30 a.m. Just starting to get light but dark enough for the stars and moon.
OC is just ridiculous. Poor Vicki. I hope she sees the light with Brooks and I REALLY hope her face starts to look better. Gretchen is vile and karma is a bitch and that bitch is named Slave. Lydia’s husband is really cute.

    • LaineyLainey says:

You have LOL’ing. “that b is named Slave…” amen, sister

    • iceNfire says:

I’m still an Icky hater and hearing her brother saying that Briana’s husband shouldn’t have an opinion b/c he isn’t even part of the family really pissed me off. Bri needs to take her family and run. Icky doesn’t even have her son’s address and never will …Icky needs to buy a clue

      • iceNfire says:

And another thing! Icky committed the worst crime in my eyes by trying to re-write history. She said she didn’t like what Tamara had done to Slade, Alexis, etc. Not true, Icky was right there with her

      • AZGirl says:

The fact that Michael does not tell Vicki where he lives is a testament to Vicki inability to not butt in on his life. Can you imagine? Vicki would be over at his apartment/house constantly. I mean she showed up at his college dorm.

  13. Sus says:

Here’s my opinion on “bullying” and Alexis…
What the women said to Alexis was absolutely true. Nobody made anything up. Alexis says things that are pretentious. Her first words this season were about her 6,000 square foot home. H
How is it bullying when what the women said were true?
Was it mean to do it in a group and on camera? Absolutely yes. Very mean. It was not bullying.

    • iceNfire says:

Maybe Alexis thinks the show is about the lifestyle of rich women in OC….and it was… a long time ago

    • Jill...no not THAT Jill says:

If what they say is true-that’s fine, but why so mad that someone is pretentious? (I don’t even think Alexis is pretentious-I think she is phony. I don’t hate her b/c she is phony I just find it silly. Heather is pretentious-Alexis is a wanna be.) My problem with the witches is that they act like they said those things to Alexis for her own good-I think that’s crap. They said it b/c they don’t like her and they wanted her to feel bad about herself. That may make them bullies or just really crappy people-either way they got what the wanted.

      • HuskerHuny says:

Is Alexis pretentious? Absolutely! Is Tamra, Gretchen and especially Heather pretentious? Absolutely x3! Just one example of each – Tamra’s Rolex watch where she said something about it costing $40,000? Gretchen thinking she has the chops to sing in Las Vegas? Heather won’t do a home photo shoot for a magazine because she won’t get the cover? Hate, hate, hate it when people can call others out on what they perceive that person’s shortcomings are, but refuse to see it in themselves. If you don’t like Alexis, just say it, but don’t put a label on it when you are as guilty of it yourself! That’s all!

        • Catseye says:

What’s so funny to me is that Heather NEEDS that Bravo paycheck as bad as all the others, yet pretends to be rich and high-class. Last nite, when ugly, old Tamrat threatened to throw her out of her crappy dinner, she sure got nervous and started kissing @ss, I also find it interesting, her need to warn Lydia about who SHE chooses to be friends with, especially after watching Tamrat casually throwing out a racial slur.

          • mrs peabody says:

yea maybe she should take a look at the 2 she chose to be friends with. what was it the Don said? If you hang with garbage you start to smell like garbage, or something like that. Heather’s starting to smell pretty ripe.

      • Dwight Schrute says:

I loved how they said in Costa Rica that they were doing it because they liked her which was complete bull. They were indignant because she left early but couldn’t comprehend that someone wouldn’t want to stick around to be on the receiving end of their version of “help.”

      • mrs peabody says:

Heather is pretentious, Alexis is a wanna be and the other 2 (tamara and Gretchen) just wish they had some money so they could be too.

      • Sus says:

Very good point. Alexis is a wannabe. And, those women did not have Alexis’ well being in mind.

I can’t stand Alexis. I probably should preface what I say with that. She just really rubs me the wrong way. But, that still doesn’t mean that I don’t think those women were horrible to her that day.

I did giggle though when she yelled at that woman that she had to go on Xanax after that dinner. I mean I would have needed the Xanax a long time ago being married to Jim. Maybe I’m as mean as those women!

    • Dwight Schrute says:

Yes, pretty much true but when the same people going on and on about it (I think it was two hours in Costa Rica) are guilty of the same thing and when three of them are yelling at you all at once it gets overwhelming.

Bullying? Maybe not but it got pretty close to the line that I can see how some people would conclude it might be?

  14. ladebra says:

Totally OT – anyone going to watch Diane Sawyer interview Amanda Knox tonight? I think I am. It sounds like it is going to be thought provoking.

  15. So Gretchen proposed to Slade (OMG is that his name I can’t even remember right now) on the day of my birth and I don’t like it. Hahaha.

I worked in a hostile environment once. I was transferred to another island and given a big raise (before on the other island I needed a roommate to afford living because my pay was low) and so I could afford the cost of living but most everyone HATED me, especially my boss. One time the warehouse guy was on the forklift with drywall and tried to hit me with the forklift and drywall and even though my one coworker witnessed it, my boss told me it was all in my imagination and did nothing. That’s just ONE incident. Well anyway I felt trapped because the cost of living here is high and no job starts you out at what I was making and would need to afford living here. I was so stressed that I started breaking out in psoariasis and having digestive issues and throwing up and all kinds of stuff. It was really bad. Then one day my boss laid me off (he told me that he would one day if I didn’t stop complaining to him about what went on there and also gave me a gag order that if I told anyone he would fire me). Well anyway now I’m at a job where I make much less, can barely afford anything lol, my mom moved here and I stay with her to be able to live, and I’m MUCH HAPPIER.

    • Catseye says:

Oh man. I HATE hearing how people get away with workplace bullying. I think EVERY ONE of us has experienced it in one way or another. But sooner or later, things always come back to us–good and bad. And for the record, I worked with a horrible b!tch too, for 10 long years. I won’t go into details, but she’s now earning 1/2 the money, longer work days, crappy benefits, including hardly any vacation–1wk vs 6wks, her pension is cashed out and long gone, which means she’ll be working for the rest of her life.

      • Catseye says:

Oh darn, my funny face didn’t work!

      • stellastars21 says:

Yeah it’s sometimes really puts a smile on our faces when someone who was horrible to us gets there’s. Even though it is not a good thing, hey we’re human. Well my old boss did get his because he went out of his way to show to corporate that an incompetent worker that he liked was better than all of us and soon after I was laid off, corporate got rid of my old boss to put the incompetent worker in charge. About one year after that the place closed.
I’m sorry that you had to deal with that person.

  16. Dwight Schrute says:

So I had a question for Wretchen last night. You referred to yourself as Mommy to your dogs last night. Did you give birth to them or am I being as ridiculous as you were for Vicki talking about her baby.

When Tamara was standing outside the limousine listening to everything being said did it remind anyone of her during Heather’s party last season when Alexis, Jim and Heather’s husband were working out something and she came over and plopped down right there and refused to budge? I wonder how she would have reacted if those two things had been done to her.

    • Catseye says:

      TRUE!!

    • djprincessc says:

She would have said it’s none of their business, the way she did to Jeana when she meddled in her divorce with Simon and sat on the bench crying dying for some sympathy.

    • Dwight Schrute says:

Oh, yeah, it was funny how Gretchen wouldn’t give Lydia the time of day last week but this week she’s calling her pretty cool simply for agreeing with her.

  17. princesspindy says:

Well, I didn’t watch OC last night…..someone on here mentioned Nurse Jackie, so I have been watching that. I thought I would watch the second showing of OC but there wasn’t one. I remember fondly the days when NOTHING would stand in the way of my watching the OC…..oh well,
    “another one bites the dust”….

  18. djprincessc says:

Didn’t really like the part where Lydia is at Alexis house and says in her interview, “No wonder why they don’t like her, she won’t listen.” Something to that affect, what is it with these women feeling the need to constantly school or give advice to Alexis?!?!?!? I mean enough already, its not like her life is a mess! I think Alexis just needs and wants a friend to support her and just listen for a change! To me that showed how quick of a side Lydia is choosing. She knew Alexis first and now Lydia is agreeing with the 3 whores??

Someone above in the comments said how they used the excuse in Costa Rica about liking Alexis and just wanting to help her, but we all know they just want to put her down and make her feel bad. I have an aunt like that, she has 5 kids, all my cousins have issues and have given her MANY MANY PROBLEMS everything from jail, drugs, running away and her youngest which is a year younger than me has special needs. Well for some reason my aunt every single damn time she sees me or comes to my house she has the need to tell me and my mom “Oh she needs to be so careful when she goes out, I saw a program where a girl was kidnapped and raped.” and blah blah blah, she even told me to make sure I have my keys in my hand when I come out of a store going to my car, because obviously I’m a moron. I know this sounds like she’s concerned but shes not, she’s just trying to make something out of nothing, her and my other cousin have gotten this in their head that I am always out doing who knows what. Well newsflash cus I’m boring!! I work or I’m home and when I go out its to run errands or meet up with a gf for lunch or dinner. BORING.

Well finally one day I go sooooooo sick of her constantly telling me “oh you have to be so careful.” that I told her “Why are you so concerned about me coming and going?? Why are you worried about me, when you have FIVE kids you can worry about?? I don’t do anything! I’m boring! Go worry about them!!.” She tried to play it off and said “but you’re my niece I worry about you too.” but no it’s not that, she’s nosey and is trying to deflect attention on supposedly being “CONCERNED” with me when she has 5 adult children who are a mess. I know it doesn’t sound like a huge deal at all, but after a while it gets annoying especially when you know someone isn’t coming from a place of genuine concern!

Alexis needs to speak up, put them in their place and move on. If she wants to brag she can brag, if she wants to wear a fake diamond she can wear a fake diamond, if she wants to be married to Jim and be a traditional wife SHE CAN! Just like Tamara does what she wants and Gretchen does what she wants, so can Alexis!!

Hiiiiiii Ice!! I totally agree!! Don’t get me wrong I’m no angel or perfect! But I never gave my parents the kind of problems her kids gave her, mine were normal growing pains so to speak. I started working at 17 always responsible, payed my bills went out with friends and wanted to have normal fun. Her kids not that simple really. She only has 1 outta the 5 that didn’t cause her any major issues. Anyway you’re totally right, my mom and I both know what she tries to do. ๐Ÿ™‚

Can I just say how pretty Alexis looked on WWHL last night? Not only pretty, but age appropriate, which seems to be a challenge for most of the housewives.

O.K., let’s just say Tamra is not a bull-y, as she claims not to be. Is she a cow-y, a pig-y, a mule-y, a hen-y, a sheep-y . . . I think you get where I’m going here. But I don’t want to impugn an entire animal species, so let’s call her what she is. She is a _____________ (fill in the blank). Can’t wait to see your responses!

I’ve noticed this season she’s covering up more than in seasons past, but I think she looks a lot sexier this year, too, which is a lesson many women of a certain age (really, over 21) needs to learn. She also seems the happiest, which I think is no coincidence. Beautiful on the inside = beautiful on the outside.

Well, tomorrow is the final witnesses in the JA trial. Ridiculous to me that after the way this judge has run this trial that she decides, suddenly, to put her foot down and call for a tight schedule. The defense has one last expert to testify and the judge has said that they will stay there, all day, as long as it takes to finish. How? With the other experts, it took 2 hours just to go through their resumes! And, now, the state, just today, has asked the judge for the chance to rebut this witness with their own. But, closing statements are supposed to begin Thursday so maybe they’ll pull an all-nighter? I mean, possibly 2 experts in one day?! How will they do that? Wanna start taking bets the judge changes the schedule? lol. Oh, and the trial starts early manana at 9am…

    Totally off topic.
Does anyone know about Diverticulitis of the throat/ esophagus ?
My Mom had an MRI done several weeks ago and she apparently has a growth/
or nodules along the lining of the esophagus. He wanted her to have the
throat tested with a probe and she flatly refused- (my Dad had this done
right before he died, and it was horrible. Turned out he had esophageal
    Cancer)
After much discussion/ research we are thinking it is diverticulitis in the throat-
Any thoughts? Is there something that can be done? an antibiotic? Aloe drink?
Please, let me know if you have any info on this, Thank you so much!!

Bev-my father was diagnosed with esophageal cancer 4 years ago. He found the best throat surgeon/throat dr in NYC and has been doing wonderful since his surgery. He had a tough time with the probing of his throat but this dr was a God send and really helped my dad through his anxiety. He had a tracheostomy after his surgery and goes often to have it checked. He is still a nervous wreck when he has to go but he knows the dr will talk him through it. Find your mom someone who understands her refusal and maybe that will help?

        • NJBev says:

Hi Jill. I’m glad your Dad is ok. My Father was diagnosed in 1999. Nobody had even
heard of Esophageal cancer at that time. He was gone 3 months later. About 1-2
years later I started to hear about it every where.
My Moms Dr. says the growth is not indicative of a malignancy.

          • Jill...no not THAT Jill says:

Well, I found this link…not sure if it will help. Has she had trouble swallowing. I started having moments of dysphagia (trouble swallowing). Did it start like that with your mom? http://my.clevelandclinic.org/thoracic/disorders/esophagealdiverticulum.aspx

    • Nancy says:

      Hi Bev,
They can’t make a diagnosis without seeing what the growth is.
My sister runs the GI lab in her hospital so if you would like to
talk to her (or George) just let me know. I know it’s scary but
      it’s necessary.

      • NJBev says:

        Nancy, Thank you.
I would make my Mom do the Endoscopy if I had a little more info
to go on. I can’t put her through anymore…….

She has Arterial Stenosis and last year at 85 they wanted her to have open
heart surgery. She said “no! I’m 85, have had a good life and don’t think
the money should be wasted on someone my age. Give it to a single mother
        with Breast cancer”
We (sibling and I) asked Drs. about quality of life with this surgery. “she could
have another 5-8 years” We asked about her already moderate dementia and
the impact of general anesthesia. They told us that being under for that many hours
will affect her and not in a good way….
We discussed our options with the Drs and decided that 5-8 years living
in a haze of Alzheimer’s is no life at all. We stood by our Mothers wishes.
I take her to Dr. once a Month, she loses 2-3 lbs a month, she is in chronic
pain and is suffering from anxiety and confusion. He did a chest x-ray,
then an MRI and saw the growth in her chest. (her Dr. is test happy to
begin with, she had complied with with all his requests so far, no endoscopy
        for her)

I was talking to someone today and she told me that her Mother had this
condition(diverticulitis) and because of her advanced age ,92, they could
not operate. She keeps it in check by drinking some sort of aloe juice.

I will call her Dr. tomorrow and ask him about this……………

        • LaineyLainey says:

Wow, NJBev looks like you’re in a bit of pickle…or you would be if your momma wasn’t so strong=minded. I am sorry her quality of life is not what it should be. It’s not fair, is it? You are a good, sweet daughter for being there for your mom and helping her process all of it as you try to process it, too. ((((NJBEV)))) ((((NJBEV’S MOMMY))))

    • BB says:

NJ Bev. I would try to find a doctor who can make her feel more comfortable doing the procedure or maybe ask the doctor if she can talk to someone who’s had the procedure done recently who could talk to her about it. Without it, you won’t know for sure what’s going on.

    • BB says:

Bev, if you’re talking about an endoscopy, then I need to tell you my mom just had one while she was in the hospital and it was not bad at all. She ended up having her esophagus dialiated (not a bad procedure at all) because they think she may have gotten aspirational pneumonia. She’s had numerous endoscopies and several esophageal dialations and told me they are not bad at all. Hope this helps.

      • BB says:

        Sorry for the spelling errors.

      • TexasTart says:

Bev, sorry your mother is ill. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ I can’t k.ow exactly what test, but I have had endoscopies and it was no big deal. They use a topical numbing solution and basically just need to be still and not get too excited, like it’s more a mental thing than it is a pysical discomfort. Good luck getting somewhere with the situation.

      • NJBev says:

        BB-
did your Mom undergo general anesthesia?
        How old id ur Mom?

        • BB says:

No general anesthesia for endoscopies or the dialation. They are not considered surgery, they are considered procedures. My mom will be 80 in June. She had pneumonia when they did them too and she came through with flying colors, no ill effects whatsoever. For the dialiation, they used a mild sedation, kind of like they use for colonoscopies. Not sure what they did for the endoscopy, but she came back from it just fine and didn’t mention that it was bad or anything like that. And believe me, if it was bad, she would have said so. She doesn’t hold back about things like that. Lol. I hope someone can allay your mom’s fears about it, because if there’s something they can do to relieve her pain without it being too invasive, that would be great. I’ll be praying for you and your mom, Bev.

    • lizzle says:

I’m so sorry NJBev… Jill sounds like she knows the best in the biz around where you live. I don’t know if that is where your mom is, but Jill’s referral sounds like a great one. I am thinking of you and your mother and will include her in my prayers.

    • melthehound says:

Hiya NJBev… That sounds pretty rough. I don’t have any solutions for you of course other than to say I think it dangerous to treat something without knowing exactly what it is. What little I read says that the way to treat diverticulitis in the throat, is to remove it. The procedure depends on the size of the growth. Larger ‘pouches’ (as they call them) may require going in through the neck and a couple days in the hospital. Smaller ones can be done with a scope on an outpatient basis (again, from what little I read). I would hope it isn’t the same thing your dad had but if you can talk mom into having it looked at, the sooner the better.

    • kit9 says:

I’m watching The Voice – I know I said this before, but they have excellent talent on here unlike some others that shall go unnamed – and the show is SO much better.with Shakira…good judges all around.

    • princesspindy says:

I am enjoying this season too!! All the judges are so cute, in looks and personality, IPPHO!!

    • melthehound says:

If you are referring to American Idol TexasT, they actually have some pretty phenomenal singers this time around. I think it’s fixed for a girl to win this season as that is all that is left. For the most part, I’ve hated the judges for years but they’ve added Nicki Minaj this time around and she’s actually pretty good. I do find it hard to believe however that out of the thousands that try out for the show, they couldn’t find some guys capable of going up against the women.

      • TexasTart says:

That’s good, however I get your point about both sexes not represented equally. I never really stayed with Idol or X-Factor because I could not get past the beginning -auditions for those shows (from what I saw) had some awful singers who IMO should never had been on TV! And each had someone who was a judge -simon- comes to mind for both that I did not like. So to say I never had the full experience. If everyone raved about someone from the show, I have checked them out. Anyway, I thought The Voice would be the same old idea, but it seems more cream of the crop, right out of the gate and the only thing I would change about it is the backstories should come further into the competition.

        • melthehound says:

Here is where you and I are going to part company. I hate, I mean I HATE, the Hallmark backstories. Idol started out a little different this season. Top 10 of each (men and women) made it to a live vote. Men one week, women the other. Then the top five based on votes, were chosen for the live main show. While some of the guys were good, there were others that have absolutely no business on live TV in front of a voting audience. This pack was clearly stacked for a woman to win. That’s fine with me as I think for the past couple seasons, one of the women should have won and I’m still scratching my head over the guys who did win. If you want to check a couple of them out, Kree Harrison, Candice Glover (in order, my picks to win) on YouTube. Each have had their fumbles but both are quite solid, IMO.

          • TexasTart says:

MTH, I fast-forward (if possible) through those sappy backstories!!! I figure they’re a given in the format, but a total waste of time to show a story on someone auditioning. So that’s what I mean about show them later.
Thanks for the Idol names, I’ll look them up!

    • chismosa says:

I think today it was in the news that American Idol is now #3 in talent shows. Baaaaaaaaad ratings.

I wonder if the Voice will really switch back the judges next season? That will be interesting to see

      • melthehound says:

That really doesn’t shock me, Chismosa. Idol has been slipping for the past few years.

        • chismosa says:

What a mess they’ve made with the Mariah debacle?!? Interesting to see what will happen next season

          • melthehound says:

Yeah but I’ll take Mariah (and Nicki) over J-Lo (and her phuckin goosebumps) any day of the week. I agree though, that so called feud between them (leaked by the producers) was a whole lot of nothing about nothing.

            • chismosa says:

never understood why they want J-Lo back… she is NOT a singer. But then again, they had Paula Abdul on years ago….
Nevertheless, quite interesting drama. I hear Nicki is a good judge.

              • BB says:

Hey, Chismosa. I don’t think you necessarily have to be a good singer to be able to judge good singing. I personally wouldn’t know as I am a pretty good singer.

        • lillybee says:

          I agree with that.

  37. Mene Seela says:

Hey MTH thank you for recapping TAR. This is my family’s very favorite show. We have never missed it in the years it has been on. Our daughter likes the relationships, my hubs likes the competition and I like the travel (and Phil).
BTW – I do think they were at Gosford, rather than Edininberg Castle.)

I was not a YouTube fan, that boy screaming all of time – . The Roller Moms I feel we hardly know. The Newlyweds are not as icky as I thought. The Country Girls and Hockey brothers are OK (my hubs calls one Prince William). When Country and Hockey jumped on the early flight that made me happy. I love sudden game changers.
    I can’t believe I don’t have a favorite team picked out yet!

MTH I don’t know if you ever watched the early seasons. The game has changed quite a bit over the years. No Uturns, speed bumps or fast forwards.

    • melthehound says:

My first season of the amazing race was the one with Brenchel a few seasons back. They, and double J (Jeff and Jordan) are the reasons I won’t watch Big Brother. Anthony does look like Prince William quite a bit. They and Country don’t bother me and it would be okay if one of them won but I still prefer the Derby moms. They seem like really tough ladies. I didn’t like YT at first but they kind of grew on me, except the girlish screams. I don’t like hearing that from 5yo girls either. I think the team that shows up last should be eliminated, killing the need for the speed bump. The team that gets to the mat first, should win. Everyone else in between, it is what it is, without the aid of u turns or fast forwards. I get that sometimes things happen that are out of their control (cabs running out of gas and brain dead cab drivers seem to be the most common).

    • melthehound says:

Seriously, I’m going to need to block the channels. But then there’s the Internet … Omg I’m going to have to use self-control ! I hate that lol.

        • Jill...no not THAT Jill says:

Self control is over rated!!! Sometimes you just gotta make a purchase!!!

I always forget about the time difference!! Yes it just ended-it was very interesting-I have followed all these years but this was a more intense, grown up Amanda. I hope we get a chance to talk about it tomorrow!

Congratulations Cityside. We didn’t deserve to win that game. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Oo I just ride to post this on Lydia’s blog…. Bravo never likes my comments, I bet it never sees the light of day ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

To Lydia (bless her little heart),
Yes people have the right to disagree, but it is bullying when the three stooges gang up with the sole purpose of intimidating and belittling Alexis for her opinion.

And I don’t care if it’s production that has mapped out this hateful, disturbing crapfest or if this is just another season of Tamra’s true colors shining thru – it’s done. I’m done. Adios Bravo, have a nice life, and may the bird of paradise fly up your nose.

Just ride? Just tried …. It’s definitely time to put my auto-correct self to bed ๐Ÿ™‚ night

Not liking Kandi’s red hair. But the cut is pretty

  43. LaineyLainey says:

Night owl over here, I just want to confess something. I have been watching Don’t be Tardy. Her kids alone are reason to watch. Even the girls…even though they are older,…they all are really so cute.. And KJ ….he’s precious!!! Kash is still so little, but he’s quite the charmer, too. Ok, that is all. I’m a sucker for the young’uns.

    • chismosa says:

do both boys have red hair Lainey?
i’m so INTERESTED in this red hair thing…. like does it run in families, etc… i know the older boy has it. She’s such a mess though, those poor girls, i just hope they turn out ok when older. In college (i hope?), away from Kim i mean.

Chimosa. My best friend growing up was a true redhead and so was her brother and two sisters. Their dad had brown hair and their mom had blonde hair, but they both had the “features” of redheads; i.e., fair skin, freckles, etc. Somewhere back in their gene pool had to have been some readheads.

        • LaineyLainey says:

Yeah, my logical mind tells me there has to be one in the woodpile sometime, somewhere!! Not sure if ya’ll are familiar with that saying. I see a lot of that in the hispanic culture, too! Two brunettes and then POW a redhead!!! There has to be one in the woodpile somewheres, I tell ya. I’ll have to read BB’s wiki link.

    • LaineyLainey says:

Not sure about baby Kash..I was multi-tasking at the time. His sweet little face is a clone of KJ. It is so adorable the way Kim talks to KJ in the intro. He loves his mama!!

  44. TexasTart says:

I think it’s time for a new blog post because I am posting now……get it?! LOL!

Good morning, y’all have a good one. ๐Ÿ˜€

  45. Lulu says:

Good Morning!!!! As always late with all my shows!

I don’t know why I bothered watching RHOC but I did. It amazes me just how alike Gary Busey and Tamra are. Well minus the intellect that is just Gary’s erratic behavior and twisted logic. I had a good laugh when Eddie in a matter of fact way told her about postponing the wedding. When you see a person act so evil toward a person (Alexis) that she is clearly jealous of. Hey she gets what she deserves.

Gretchen and her Omarosa tears. Anyone else notice how childlike she is? Gretchen: Your stupid??? Need I say more??? This women belongs on that stupid show “bad girl’s club.” Only in her case it would be “wannabe bad girl.”

Lydia who?? I’m sure she will fall into that category of Cindy lou who??? “I’m a genius!” I wished that Vicki would have said “sure you are sweetheart and the rest of the table as well!” Well another one that brings nothing to the table.

I found it interesting that Heather just how far up Tamra’s @ss she is. All this talk about being a “strong” women. But yet all she is is another follower. Pretty sad and pathetic. Can Bravo find a decent Jewish women on the HW’s brand??? It’s sad that the one who shall not be named is starting to look better then her.

So far Vicki is the only one on the show that is “likeable.” Love the moments with her and Brianna. Hope Bravo is taking notes. What made the show popular was the family and friends interactions. Not this BS of fighting.
