Miami Blogs Blogged
Once again all of the ladies blogged! Color me surprised! Especially since most of this episode revolved around the Lea-Adriana feud, with some cute filler scenes thrown in.
“Joanna on Prenups & Second Chances”
Joanna’s blog is short & simple this week. She starts out by addressing the pre-nup issue. Since the two are now married, I’m assuming they worked this out. Guess we’ll just have to wait & see what the result is since Joanna swears “I won’t give in without a fight.” Maybe I look at pre-nups with a little less emotion since I’m an attorney, but I was more appalled that Romain suggested Marta not be in the wedding. In Joanna’s case, she has just as much to lose as Romain. I completely understand that he wants to protect his business and she should protect her brand/image. That said, I completely understand her being blindsided if, as she claims, they had agreed early on that “there is no reason to sign one.” Anyway, that’s enough on her very limited story line this episode.
She also comments on the continuing Lea-Adriana feud. Joanna isn’t shocked by the way the meeting went, and I have to admit that I wasn’t either. Adrianna refuses to take responsibility for her actions. “It seems Adriana loves to put the blame on everyone else but herself. I experienced that with her last year.” She points out that if Adriana had just owned her mistake & apologized, Lea would have been quick to forgive. I agree, Lea seems like the type to give a second chance. Joanna also wants “to move forward with Adriana and give her a chance to prove herself wrong, as everyone deserves a second chance if they truly mean it.” Since Joanna is clearly on Team-Lea this season, we’ll see how that goes.
“The ‘Let’s Blame Lea’ Strategy”
Lea sets out to “once again defend myself” against the haters in a lengthy blog. First up, Alexia. Lea accuses Alexia of citing another “unknown source” who told Alexia that Lea talks behind the girls’ backs. I haven’t always been the biggest Lea fan, I think that her jokes are sometimes tasteless & underhanded jabs, but I’m not sure that she deserves all of the talking behind her back that Alexia & Adriana have been doing. At least with Lea she’ll say it to your face. She doesn’t understand why Alexia continues to listen to other people. “It’s exhausting, exasperating, and quite eye opening to say the least.” My opinion is that Alexia didn’t have much of a storyline either this season & therefore needs to be involved in the Lea-Adriana feud.
Then, Adriana. “I had a party in the ballroom of my home in May of last year and over 50 people watched as Frederic got on one knee and proposed to a beaming Adriana…Everyone celebrated the announcement that they were finally going to become husband and wife.” Even though they had already had a civil ceremony that no one knew about! That, in & of itself, is enough to warrant Lea’s anger with Adriana.
“A simple, ‘Lea, I apologize for deceiving you and your friends.’ Was that so hard to say? That could have been the end of yet another contrived saga.” Enough said. Lea points out that she did not reveal any details until Adriana began her attacks. Once again, Lea provides some sources to show that she did not leak the story of Adriana’s marriage. I didn’t take the time to google these sources, but based on Lea’s history they’re probably accurate. She then lists a slew of questions that “faithful Bravo viewers,” myself included, may be asking. I’m not going to re-hash all of those here.
As to Joanna & Lisa, “It’s refreshing to see real people enjoying fabulous lives.” I agree! I know that this show is based on drama, but I still like the glimpse into fabulous lives that it provides. The drama gets exhausting sometimes! I did check out Lea’s website since she provided the link. I had no idea that she had a line of skin and hair care products, jewelry and home décor. The jewelry is cute & isn’t ridiculously overpriced like some other housewives’ stuff is.

“Lea’s Conditional Kindness”
“I’ve always been loyal to Lea and always thanked her for helping me in the past.” I will admit that, especially in the first season, Adriana acknowledged the help that Lea provided. However, now she’s backtracking & downplaying the help that Lea provided. “She never supported me or gave me money and received nothing back.” To me, it doesn’t matter whether Lea helped by purchasing paintings or just handing her some cash. The point is that Lea helped and to downplay that assistance makes Adriana seem really ungrateful.
Adriana explains that she met Lea in 2006, then spent two years struggling before meeting Frederic at 2008. While I don’t doubt that Adriana went through some tough times, she certainly had more help than a lot of people in her situation. At this point, Adriana seems to be doing pretty well for herself. Then she throws out all of the help that she now gives to Lea, or rather Lea’s charity. But “True acts of kindness should never be CONDITIONAL and should not be thrown in people’s faces” Who does she think that she’s kidding? I never heard Lea “gossip” about how much she helped Adriana until Adriana brought it up!
“The Perfect Dress for Adriana”
“I enjoy spending time with Alexia and Adriana because we understand one another the majority of the time and we love to laugh and have fun.” I think that it’s great that Marysol has people she can depend on during her mother’s illness, especially someone who has been through a similar situation. I love that she admits “exercise is not really my thing.” I feel the same way!
The bridesmaid selection seems odd to me, since I don’t recall Adriana being very close to Alexia or Marysol before. Anyway, Marysol is thrilled. “Oh how I love weddings, especially my own!” I appreciate a woman who can poke fun at herself! I also admire that Marysol chose to merely comment on the scenes she was involved in & stay out of the other women’s drama. It’s obvious that she has more important issues to deal with.
“Alexia’s Dream Closet”
Alexia begins by explaining that Adriana told her that Lea was making comments about Peter & that she merely repeated them in an interview without first talking to Lea. “I’ve been brave enough to share this with all of you in the hopes of helping other mothers and families who face trials and tribulations with their kids, not for her to bring it up and make it her story.” While I admire her for not hiding the troubles she is having with her son, she was the one who chose to publicize Lea’s alleged comments rather than confront her directly. Lea didn’t make this her story, Alexia did. “Those who know me know it’s not in my nature to throw digs.” Umm, what does she think she was doing with Karent all of last season?
She spends a whole page talking about her closet. While I’m glad, & jealous, that she got a closet face-lift, it just didn’t need that much attention. As for wedding dress shopping, “I’m glad that she’s finally taking that next step and celebrating it with her dream wedding.” Do I really need to point out that she’s already taken the ‘next step’ & only have a party to celebrate it five years later? Isn’t that called a vow renewal & not a wedding? Sorry, just couldn’t help myself!
“The Star Island Battle”
Lisa doesn’t see a problem with Romain’s request for a pre-nup. “Any wealthy, successful man or woman should protect themselves, because you just never know what the future may hold. I do believe that it should not be one sided and that both sides should be comfortable with the terms.” I like that Lisa was very candid about her pre-nup, saying she “expected to sign [one]”.
I love scenes with Lisa & Daysy. “I am so proud of her achievements. She has grown her cleaning company so much that she herself no longer has to clean. I’m sad to see her go, but she has better things to do than clean my house now, so good for her.” It’s great to see Lisa be so supportive of Daysy.
I remember following all of the legal wrangling in the news over the Star Island house so it was interesting to see it played out again. Lisa’s timeline of events fits what I read online, that the preservationists didn’t make any attempt to restore the home or have it designated as a historic site before the Hochstein’s purchased it. “It seems very strange to us that they never cared about this home in the past while it was allowed to deteriorate. They also didn’t take much interest in the other homes that were demolished before or after.” Based on her account, Lenny even offered to help relocate the home in order to preserve the structure, but the preservationists rejected that idea. While I completely support the restoration & preservation of historic homes, I have to agree with Lisa that “these people do not care about the home, they just want publicity for their cause that they otherwise would not ever get.”
Lisa points out that, at the time of their purchase, the house was in foreclosure because the previous owners failed to make payments and explains the state of the house when it was purchased. “Our engineer deemed the house uninhabitable.” Based on what I saw in the episode, the previous owners/tenants left it in horrific condition. I sure wouldn’t want to live there!
