Real Housewives of Nashville by NMD
Rumors of a new housewives franchise (or knockoff on a similar network) in Nashville have been swirling for a while. I had actually pretty much forgotten about it, but SparkelMuffy overheard a conversation in a local salon which has led her to believe it’s a go. Apparently things aren’t going that well with filming – the ladies aren’t bringing the drama. They are still filming, but haven’t told the ladies who has made the cut for the cast. I think I remember hearing that Bravo passed on the show but it was going to air on another network – but don’t quote me on that!
Teresa has Taken the Gloves Off by NMD
One of my rules is to never send an email (or even a blog comment) when I’m furious. I wouldn’t cut it as a housewife, because they are best when they are impulsively reacting. That seems to be the case with Teresa Giudice’s latest blog post. She had to let her “calm as a cucumber” veneer slip a little. (I couldn’t remember how she butchered “cool as a cucumber” so I probably got it wrong – but I’m sure most of you get the joke.) After all, the woman and her husband have just learned that there is a 39-count federal indictment against them – so OBVIOUSLY the most serious thing on Teresa’s mind is addressing the little white lies of her castmates.
You see – as I mentioned in yesterday’s blog – Teresa really DID lift that horse’s leg. She wasn’t inauthentic, and she is NOT Madonna. Got that!
Based on the blog she posted on her OWN website – it’s fair to say that Teresa is pissed at Caroline, Kathy, Richie, and Melissa. Caroline said in a talking head that it was very telling that neither Teresa or Melissa lifted that horse’s leg – and that they were the same person. Whoa – how did she know the show would be edited to make viewers think Teresa gave up. Maybe Caroline’s TH was edited to only take half of her statement. Hmmmm.
Teresa retaliated by telling us that: “For Caroline to say I’m just like Melissa, and that I’m superficial, says a lot about her character. She saw that I did open myself up to the experience, so for her to lie like that makes no sense to me. I thought we were there for healing, and I certainly didn’t belittle her for her fears. She was miserable the entire trip, fighting with Albert the whole time. And she has the nerve to say I didn’t embrace it? Disappointing.”
Apparently Teresa can put up with a lot of things, but being compared to Melissa when Melissa got the superficial, self-involved edit was the last straw. I don’t have a problem with Teresa setting the record straight or defending herself, but it was unnecessary to expose Al and Caroline’s marital troubles. Don’t get me wrong, I love hearing the gossip about Al and Caroline, but it makes Teresa look petty and vindictive for bringing it up.
As for Melissa – Teresa used a little passive-aggressive word play to get at her: “You didn’t see me making fun of the counselors or putting it down or whining in bed because I really appreciated everything about it.”
Ouch. For someone who never slams anyone on twitter, she really let loose in her blog.
As for Kathy, Tree explains that how Joe took a phone call from Milania, and then says – “I can’t believe of all people that Kathy didn’t understand that, but I guess she and Rich have a limited memory for things. For Rich to talk about my husband delaying legal issues is insane to me. My husband cannot control the legal system, and Rich of all people knows this. Rich’s had his fair share of lawsuits and I would never comment about his behavior in them. Shameful.”
Nice – way to let everyone know about Rich’s legal issues. I’ve to to say, this is why Teresa is a fan favorite. She’s grown a lot since her table flipping start, but the old Teresa is there under all that hairspray.
I really don’t have an issue with Teresa slamming her castmates and exposing their issues, except that it makes her a hypocrite for being so offended when they dared to bring up her tabloid covers on TV. What shocks me is that she cares about this stuff when there is so much more going on in her life. I think she’s about to blow.
I’ll leave you with her tagline: Haters can hate but I love, love, love. Until you piss me off. After all – they deserve it, don’t they?
RHOM S. 5 Ep. 3 – A Quickie
(Definitely more than what Joanna gets)
I’m back from Cancun and it’s been like mass chaos as I arrived to Labor Day weekend. I apologize for not getting last week’s recap fast enough so I decided to make it a quickie. Picture highlights from the episode with a few opinionated blurbs. This week’s recap is the full, real deal 🙂 Enjoy…. 1. Grunting and Balls…only in Tennis
This relationship is adorable and it’s great to see such a progress since last season. The joking, giggling and laughing just gives hope to the rest of us. The funny part, when Joanna compares the grunts and groans of the tennis players and tennis balls flying around to sex…or their lack there of. It embarrasses Romain a bit and he tells Joanna to “be quiet” saying the players could hear her. Funny stuff.
2. Peter’s Got Talent
Alexia’s son Peter, we find out, was once a model and very good at it. Despite his flaws and recent run ins with the law the kid is very talented. His new outlet –music. Alexia has even made a recording studio for him in their home. We got to see a little of his work and even got to see Frankie rap a little. It was great to see the two bond as brothers even if the rap lyrics weren’t exactly mother approved.
3. Mama Elsa’s OK
Marysol meets up with Adriana and discusses Mama Elsa’s progress, or lack there of. She had a scary moment in the hospital where her family thought they lost her but she came out of it and is doing well now. Mama Elsa also in her recovery wanted to give Adriana a wedding gift – a shawl for her wedding day. Here’s to hoping that Mama Elsa can witness the nuptials with everyone else.
4. Alexia’s History
Alexia sits down with her mom and brings up her concern about her son Peter and his life after the arrests. She mentions her sons’ father and that he was the bad boy, and part of the cartel. She’s afraid that Peter thinks he’s inherited that bad boy persona and thinks her mom’s specialty can help him down the road. You can tell that he’s a good kid at heart and hopefully his music can lead him to a better life.
5. It’s in Writing
Lisa tries to get all the ladies to be back as a big friendly group, but it fails. Both sides revolt and of course there is absolutely no progress. Lea tries to stress to Lisa that Adriana is in fact a liar and Joanna doesn’t skip a beat showing the facts. She pulls out of her clutch the paper that proves that Adriana, in fact, was married back in 2008. I still find it crazy that a piece of paper is causing such controversy. I’m sure this will continue for the majority of the season….womp womp.
RHOM S. 3, Ep. 4 –Lack of Sex, More Lies and some Magic
Joanna and Romain’s relationship, I’m predicting, will be my favorite part of this season. So far so good on their life/future plans, except for the sex part…and we’ll get into that later. Romain surprises Jo by bringing her to the house that he bought for them. From the outside, not exactly what Jo had in mind and you can definitely tell. The inside of course not to anyone’s standards, Romain reminds her that there will be all their finishing touches and that he even has the movers coming that day with all their stuff. If that didn’t do the convincing, Romain brings her out to their yard where the view is beautiful. Totally makes the house. More excited about the transition Jo wants to go break the house in and bone in their new bedroom. Romain hesitates saying there’s no bed so she suggests the floor. This poor girl is trying so hard to get laid and I’m really not understanding why with a body and imagination like that, he’s not giving it to her?!?!
In the meantime, Marysol (again, not a main housewife this time but on screen more times than none) invites Alexia over for some tarot card readings. Marysol is still really upset about her mother’s health condition and wants to see if any answers are in the cards. Alexia isn’t very comfortable with getting a reading so she decides to opt out and let Marysol get her answers. The tarot card reader brings up that another source brought upon “black magic” to her mother and the pun is intended. She describes the person as a blond haired, older woman around her 50s. Well if that doesn’t point fingers I don’t know what does. But is Lea really capable of black magic? Would she really take it that far considering that Marysol is the least of her problems now? Lisa is trying so hard to be the peacemaker with this group, a glutton for punishment maybe? She meets up with Lea at a meeting with her designers while Lea is picking out tile for her kitchen. The Adriana situation comes up again and Lisa is still distraught over why this is such a big deal. Lea tells her that Adriana most definitely lied and betrayed her as if she was actually married, why was she letting Lea set her up on dates? Of course, Lisa not knowing this part took a step back. Lea thanked her for trying to make things work but that she shouldn’t be involved because obviously not all parts of the story are coming full circle.
Later on, Lisa decides to meet with Adriana with her side. This is where it gets a little tricky –and repetitive. Adriana goes over the entire story again but with a few minor changes. First it’s Fredric’s fault, then it’s her son’s fault, and back and forth. Nothing seems to be adding up and I’m getting a headache. If Lisa were smart enough, she’d remove herself from the situation immediately. On a lighter note, Adriana asks Lisa to be one of her bridesmaids. This makes Lisa extremely happy and I’m sure closer to believing Adriana’s side of the story. In all honesty, this “story line” is starting to annoy me and it’s only episode 4. I really hope it gets straightened out and some new drama blooms.
Back to Joanna and Romain’s sex issues. Romain decides to opt out of the therapy session that he promised to go to as Marta had texted Joanna bringing up some old rumors about Romain and cheating. In turn, Joanna arrives to the therapy session alone. She discusses with the therapist the reason that Romain hadn’t shown and she breaks down because she is extremely close to her sister. She isn’t sure how either relationship is going to move on when one person she loves hates the other. My opinion, Marta needs to relax and take a back seat. She doesn’t live with Joanna anymore and she’s working off of rumors. To believe rumors over your sister is a little high school to me.
Then Joanna proceeds to talk about how her sex life with Romain and how the frequency (if you can call it that) is once EVERY OTHER MONTH. Woah are you kidding??? The therapist seems to think that it might be Joanna’s emasculating comments that have Romain taking a step back in the boning department. When he gets home later on, Joanna explains she was embarrassed that he didn’t show and Romain expressed how upset he was about this vendetta that Marta has against him. Luckily they laugh it off and he agrees to go to the next session.
The Black Gala is on the horizon and so is Alexia’s Venue Magazine launch party. In order to be civil and get the reciprocation for her event, Lea decides that she’ll go to Alexia’s event….but it’s gonna cost her. Sidenote: Lea is the Vicki of Miami as she doesn’t know how to take a brush to her hair….with all your money buy a brush, or have Freda do it for you, it isn’t that hard. Ok so she shows up to the Venue party rather early and is standing there like a moron bitching to herself that she missed out on dinner with Jonathan Cheban…don’t worry Lea the guy is always around and hanging out with the Kardashian’s, I’m sure he’ll reschedule. She finally runs into Alexia and Herman and gets on her knees BEGGING that they attend her gala. Never thought I’d see that before! Lea on her knees? Maybe Ana was right about a few things during last season’s reunion. Ha! Anyways, as more people show the tension becomes thicker than ever.
Lea wants to try to be as cordial as possible so she heads over towards Adriana and Frederic to say hello. Well that just sparks outright chaos as Fredric decides to go over and confront Romain. The banter is worse than the women’s but it gets Lea to be able to achieve a sense of civility with Adriana and Fredric….for the time being. Thinking that the drama is over –Marysol and Ana show up. Lea is beside herself and wants to leave because the night just keeps getting worse. Ana addresses that she needs to go over and say hello to Joanna –who is beside Lea and we notice that Lea actually kisses Ana hello! Hell is freezing over all over the place in Miami. This rubs Alexia the wrong way as she storms over calling Lea a hypocrite. Adriana still heated, decides that her and Fredric will leave and call it a night, calling everyone else fake and not wanting to be around them. Pot meet kettle….’till next week
