“Lea’s Surprise Marriage”
Marysol starts by commenting on how happy she is for Alexia’s family & for the progress that Frankie is making. Then she addresses the men’s summit. “It is clear that they are able to step outside of their emotions and analyze how to help create peace among the ladies.” I agree. It was amazing to watch the men come to a resolution so quickly. But I guess there wouldn’t be show if the ladies could do that!
Marysol was the first to post this week. After being silent on her own horrible behavior last week, she just can’t miss an opportunity to take some digs at Lea. Isn’t it time to get over whatever happened between you two & just move on with your life? Of course not! As for the bridesmaid shopping trip,“I assumed we were going to laugh and have a light easy day, just us girls sipping champagne.” Leave it to Adriana to ruin that by bringing up Lea on her own shopping trip. These women just can’t leave it alone. Marysol, like Adriana, believes that Lea’s ‘secret marriage’ is the same thing as Adriana’s. “I have read that people usually despise characteristics in other people that they themselves are guilty of.” I’m going to need more information to make an informed judgment, but it doesn’t look like the two are the same. Marysol got the victim edit last season, but it seems she’s getting the mean girl edit this season.
I’m not sure why “Lea’s call to Adriana while we were shopping was definitely unexpected” when both women have said that the hope the boys remain friends & Adriana knew that RJ’s birthday was approaching. “I told Adriana that Alex should go to the birthday party and that the children should not be subject to the tension she and Lea are having. Keeping this in mind the only way to do that was to have Frederic take Alex to RJ’s birthday party.” Actually some good advice from Marysol! Why couldn’t Adriana have just taken it? “Timing is everything and the last thing the children need is uncomfortable tension looming during such a special day.” There was definitely a change in atmosphere when Adriana walked in complaining.
“Frankie’s Road to Recovery”
“This episode is very special to me, because you finally see what my mornings have been like for the last year, and most importantly, how hard Frankie has been working for the last year and a half every day.” As I’ve said before, Alexia & Frankie are lucky that she can spend so much time & effort on his recovery. Not every child is so blessed. I’m glad to see that Frankie is making such leaps & bounds in his recovery. It is heartbreaking to see any child suffer. She gives us some insight into what Frankie’s recovery has entailed. “The Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital saved my son’s life…Frankie and I were in the Intensive Pediatric Intensive Unit for 3 months…Atlanta, Georgia to The Shepherd Center for inpatient rehabilitation for another 3 months…When Frankie was ready for outpatient rehab, we came back to Jackson.” I can’t even imagine the stress that Alexia was under. “When you have a brain injury as severe as Frankie’s, you have to learn to do everything again like a baby. So it’s baby steps. His brain is still healing and developing.”
Alexia gives us an update on Frankie’s current condition. “Frankie is now attending school full day. He goes to a Catholic High School that has a Special Education Program and offers a small class setting and works at his pace. He takes his core subjects (Math, Reading/English, Social Studies, and Science) in the special class. He takes PE (it’s like his Physical Therapy), elective, and lunch with his peers (that are not in the program).”
Alexia seems to have a strong support system, which I’m sure is needed, to rely upon during his time. “I have God and an amazing husband, son, mom, and family and friends that will continue to cheer me on and hold my hand.” “ I am filled with faith, and faith moves mountains.”
Alexia was happy to attend RJ’s birthday party. “RJ seemed to be having a blast with his friends and wasn’t much into socializing with the adults.” Most kids’ parties that I’ve been to turn out like that – the kids divide up from the adults. “I was also happy to be there with Joanna and Lisa and the guys and socialize a little. I want to get to know them more and don’t want them to not like me just because I’m friendly with Marysol and Adriana.” Hopefully Alexia means that & will truly make an effort to stay out of the drama. “After you come so close to losing a son, nothing matters and compares. That’s why I’m done. I’m not even going to comment on anything else, because nothing else matters. “
“RJ’s Birthday Drama”
Here’s the answer to my question: “No, I didn’t put an article in the paper about Adriana’s marriage license. That has been proven over and over again. The original source was someone on Twitter who has subsequently acknowledged breaking the story.” I can understand the frustration with someone who continually blames others for her own mistakes. “First she lies to Alex about her marriage for 5 years, then she lies to him saying I put the secret marriage certificate in the paper, then she keeps him from my son, and then she blames ME for hurting him?” I was glad to see the boys staying out of their mothers’ mess during this episode.
Lea addresses Adriana’s allegation of a ‘secret marriage.’ We now know that Ana gave the article to Adriana. “No, I wasn’t secretly married to Roy. We were 100% married but didn’t think we were a big enough deal to notify the press.” She implies that her family & friends knew about the marriage, but the article quotes a friend who was surprised to learn of the marriage. So I’m not sure exactly how much her friends & family knew before the certificate was publicized. Lea points out the difference between her ‘secret ceremony: & Adriana’s: “I didn’t continue to date or use my friends to help me through my struggles. I have been married in my heart, on paper and without a ceremony, ever since.”
As to the text message sent to Alex, “Yes, I texted Alex.” She goes on to explain that Alex began texting earlier than RJ, as RJ is two years younger, so she would set up play dates with Alex. Seems like a reasonable explanation, but I’m still uncomfortable with a woman texting her son’s friends. There was probably a more appropriate way to set up a play date.“RJ’s birthday party was a riot — we all had fun and once again we don’t allow our circumstances to dictate our lives — we just make the best of them.” It was great to see the kids having so much fun playing in the yard. I’m still surprised that Lea didn’t have a contingency plan for rain; she seems like the type that would plan for all conditions.
As for the spontaneous trip to LA, “Joanna’s heart was breaking because she truly missed Marta, so along came Charlie’s Angels — Lisa and Lea “Lisa” to the rescue!” It seems like Lea really appreciates Joanna & wants to help in any way she can. Lea also comments on Lisa’s relationship with her MIL, “You’re a real trooper for your patience and good intentions.” She appreciates Romain’s willingness to move on & makes a very good point, “Can you imagine how far the grudge would go and all the drama that would have followed if it were Romain and Joanna sending out the nasty tweets? It’s the difference between self-respect, class, and maturity.” I don’t think Adriana would have allowed it to be dropped so quickly.
“Romain’s Big Heart”
Joanna starts by addressing the men’s summit/mediation. “I think it was very classy and big of Romain to decide to meet up with Frederic. Romain isn’t the type of person that will allow anyone to disrespect me, and the fact he wanted to set a good example makes me love him even more and proves that he has an amazing heart.” Romain was able to stand up for Joanna, but also accept the apology & move forward. That takes some maturity. “I admire him for meeting with Frederic and seeing past Frederic’s crazy wife, finding forgiveness, and moving on since we will always see each other as we are part of a circle that has mutual friends.” Again, if the women did that, there would be no show!
“I definitely was very emotional, overwhelmed, and sad that Marta wasn’t able to meet me in LA to help with the wedding planning, but I also didn’t expect her to drop everything last minute and come with me to LA. I just really wanted to share this time and experience with her.” As Joanna goes on to say, she was used to Marta being available 24/7 & is taking some time to get used to her sister’s new life. Hopefully she won’t take out her frustration on Marta, but allow her to have her own life.
She says that it was “sweet of Lea to come up with the idea to go to LA with me and bring along Lisa because I am always open to hear other people’s advice and opinions, even though I was pretty set in stone on what I wanted for my wedding and how I wanted it to look.” But, wasn’t she so upset that she didn’t have Marta to help her? “I trust her opinion and advice and really couldn’t imagine anyone else helping me with this other than Marta.” I’m a little confused. Does Joanna need help or doesn’t she? I think she just wanted her sister to be a part of her planning. “I think we all were ready for a little getaway from the Miami drama and certain people.” Sounds like it should be a fun trip anyway, as long as they don’t spend the whole time talking about Adriana.

Adriana de Moura
“Shocked by Lea’s Secrets”
I’m not so sure what big ‘secrets’ she’s referring to, but I’m sure Adriana will tell us all about it. “I was in shock to learn that my friend of seven years never even told me her real name.” The article doesn’t actually say that Lea was using another name. It lists her as ‘Lisa Lea Haller.’ Apparently Haller was her married name from a previous marriage. “I was even more shocked to learn that Lea had a secret marriage that she hid from her friends and business partner at that time.” Here we go. “How ironic is it that she has been calling me a liar and crucifying me for not disclosing my marriage to her and yet she did the same!?” I don’t agree that the two situations are the same. There is no evidence that Lea ever lied about being married, she just didn’t publicize the marriage. I’m going to need more than an old People magazine article to prove that Lea was actively hiding her marriage, as Adriana was.
“Despite all her blatant attacks against me and my family, I still made sure my son remained friends with her son — I believe kids should never pay for their parents’ mistakes.” I was impressed to see both women putting the boys first in this episode. Adriana says that she found the texts from Lea to Alex inappropriate due to her son’s age. “My son was only 13 at the time and he doesn’t go anywhere without my consent.” I agree, at that age you should have the parents consent before inviting a child over. “Although I was still feeling anxious and awkward around her due to the way she treated me the previous time she invited me into her house, I still was happy to be there for her son and to see my son wish a happy birthday to him.” I’m not buying that. Adriana walked into that party complaining about being there & then avoided the hostess. That’s just rude. If she felt anxious, she shouldn’t have gone.
“Lisa’s In-Law Issues”
Lisa’s issues with her MIL were first revealed last season. “I really do try my best and have been trying for the past six years to get along with my mother-in-law. It gets frustrating when we don’t get anywhere. I would love to have a relationship where we loved and respected each other.” Lisa addresses some of the specific issues that she has with her MIL: “What I don’t like is when people around me who know the English language perfectly well choose to speak Russian or any other language. It makes me feel completely left out of the conversation, and I find it a bit rude. I also don’t ever want to hear about Lenny’s ex-girlfriends, especially from my mother-in-law.” It has to be hard to have a MIL that constantly leaves you out & criticizes you. Lisa is glad that Lenny’s mother has shown her Russian recipes and foods because that is important to Lenny, though issues remain.
As for the confrontational dinner, “I don’t know why Marina would think or say she feels that her son doesn’t love her and is trying to make her life miserable. This could not be further from the truth. I think she feels this way because she can’t stand her son defending me when she doesn’t get her way.” To me, it’s obvious that Lenny loves his mother very much & wants her to have a relationship with his wife. I was proud of Lenny for standing up for Lisa. Marina seems very passive-aggressive in her approach to the situation. “Although we don’t get along so well all the time, there are so many things I love and respect about Marina and Anatoly.” Lisa seems very proud of her in-laws for making their way in this country. “They raised an incredible man with values, morals, integrity, and honor and for this is I am forever grateful.” Lisa says that, for that reason, she will continue trying to make the relationship with her MIL work.
“At the bridal fitting I felt like I was in the middle.” I think Adriana chose to put Lisa in the middle. Adriana expects Lisa to choose a side, which seems really petty to me. “Choosing sides is very juvenile to me.” Lisa is happy to be a part of both Adriana & Joanna’s wedding. Lisa then addresses the paper that Adriana produced. “I don’t agree that Lea and Adriana’s situations are the same and therefore they should not be compared. Four months versus four years of being married is a big difference.” Exactly what I said! As to the birthday party, “I was happy to see that Adriana and Lea put their differences aside that day for the children’s sake. The boys should not have to suffer because of their mothers’ problems.” I’m not sure if that’s exactly true. I agree that the boys shouldn’t have to suffer for their mothers’ issues, but Adriana arrived at that party with a chip on her shoulder. She should have just stayed home.
