Jill … no not that Jill was at a taping of Bethenny’s Talk Show Yesterday
Hi everyone-I had a fab time at Bethenny today despite the fact the WAKILES were there…I almost died when I realized they were going to be on!!! The way I found out was there was a person prepping the audience (kind of like a party starter) and she brought some people on to the set to dance-it was fun and silly and got everyone on their feet. Anyway a young guy was pulled from the audience and I said to my sisters-HOLY SHIT ITS JOSEPH WAKILE!!! then I said HOLY SHIT VV IS GOING TO FLIP WHEN I TELL HER KATHY AND RICHIE ARE ON THE SHOW!!! Ok just had to tell that…now I will go back to the beginning!!
We arrived around 11:30 and there was a line outside the studio already even though we didn’t need to be there until 12:00. While waiting to go in a few “skinny girls™” came out and asked some questions-”who is on twitter” “anyone have a story about their inlaws?” “Has anyone used a man to get what they want”…soooooo many people said yes to all the questions and were escorted to another line.
After about 45 minutes we were let into the building and sent to a holding room where we filled out some questionnaires and waited to go to our seats. 20 minutes later we went into the studio-we were allowed to take a few pics and then the fun started!!!
Dancing and clapping and acting like crazy FANS!! “Calling all my Girls” started playing and Bethenny walked in-she is not as skinny as I was expecting-she is tiny but she didn’t look like deathly. I was the 4th seat in from the aisle she walked down and she was waving and thanking everyone. The show started right away with the Wakiles and Jim and Chrissy Jones (they have a reality show on VH1 called Chrissy & Mr Jones) .
The topics were MANMANIPULATION and INLAWS…Richie made inappropriate jokes the ENTIRE time. I must say Kathy is beautiful-seriously beautiful-she didn’t say much but Chrissy had lots to say on both topics-she is very funny!! Richie is an ass in real life as well as on TV. He is not acting!! I have to say that when the Wakiles came out they looked for their son in the audience right away-it was kind of sweet but then Richie opened his mouth and ruined it.
Next segment was June Diane Raphael and Casey Wilson-they were both in Bride Wars and Ass Backwards-they were hysterical!! They are great friends and they had the best stories-I don’t think much of it will air as they used LOTS of curses!!
Next segment was Gabby Douglas-she was so sweet. What an incredibly mature young woman she is. Her segment was so nice. She surprised three young girls who take gymnastic classes-it was a long segment but so cute.
Here’s Gabby at the Olympics – NMD
That’s a wrap!!
We had a great time but my Lord what a long day!!!!
Real Housewives of Miami – Season Finale
“Mrs. Zago” by HydrangeaHussy
We left the women partying it up in Vegas on the eve of Joanna’s wedding. This was sure to go badly, as there is no way they are getting up for an 8 am flight after a night of hard-partying & fighting. Lisa was so drunk she could barely function & Joanna was in a horrible mood for someone about to get married. Alexia was tired of Lisa’s meddling & Adriana was staying out of it.
Joanna & the other ladies are in the desert at 2 pm on the day of the rehearsal. Joanna is pissed because she is late. Her bachelorette has turned into a nightmare. Lea, who seems to be the least hungover, is driving. Lisa announces that she is nauseous (I’m not surprised) so the ladies pull over.
We go back in time to that morning in Vegas with shots of the trashed hotel suite. Look familiar? Apparently there wasn’t enough storyline so the producers are remaking The Hangover. Anyway, Joanna awakes at 11:05 am, a little late for her 8 am flight. She immediately wakes the others in a panic. Why didn’t these people set an alarm or get a wake up call or something? There is no explanation. Adriana is glad that everyone is in one piece, at least. Lisa is asleep, in a robe & sunglasses, underneath the bar. She has a headache, which shouldn’t surprise anyone. The girls quickly pack. They learn that there are no more flights to San Diego, so they have to rent a car. Joanna is worried that Romain will kill her for missing their rehearsal dinner. Didn’t I say the bachelorette on the night before was a bad idea?
Joanna’s mother & Romain are in San Diego, checking on the wedding venue. Joanna is nowhere to be found & isn’t answering the phone. Isn’t that what Joanna was pissed at Romain about? He finally reaches Joanna & she explains that she got drunk & is now stuck in the desert. This is so typical of Joanna when she drinks, as Romain points out. In the car, the ladies ask Lisa if she remembers the fight. Lisa remembers but no one recalls how it started. They all agree that it was silly & move on.
At one hour til the rehearsal, Marta arrives. Romain is nervous seeing Marta, but is glad she is there. The ladies are still in the car, but have made good progress. It appears that they will make it! They immediately run to get ready & Joanna arrives with no time to spare. She is happy to see Marta, but says that she feels a distance between them. Lisa is overjoyed to see Joanna & Romain at this place, but wishes that Lenny were with her. Romain’s parents could not make it, but his brother has traveled from Brazil. Joanna says that it’s amazing to have everyone she loves in one place. She is glad that both of her parents can be there & be friendly after a divorce.
They begin the rehearsal. The other ladies & their families are arriving at the rehearsal dinner. Romain greets Adriana & Frederic warmly. Alexia’s husband isn’t there either & she talks with Lisa about their similar situations. Adriana says that she hopes Joanna & Romain have as much love as she & Frederic. Adriana recognizes that Joanna’s mother was hurt when Adriana retweeted Joe Francis’ meanness. She approaches Joanna’s mother to apologize. She seems sincere & the apology is accepted. Joanna thanks Adriana for her apology & seems touched by it. Joanna says that the women have a chance at friendship now that Adriana is making an effort.
Joanna & Marta are dealing with their time apart. Joanna says that she wishes Marta had been there during the planning. Marta says that she needed to move away & that she hopes Joanna is happy for her. Marta accepts Romain into the family & is happy that they have worked through their issues. She says that she is inspired by their relationship. It’s nice to see everyone being so happy & loving for a change!
Lisa tells us that she has received great news that will change things for her & Lenny. She wants to share the news with Lea first. She & Lenny have chosen a surrogate to carry their child. The woman lives in Florida, which will allow them to be involved in the pregnancy. Understandably, Lisa still wishes that she could carry her own child. She & Lenny have gone through so much to have a child, lots of disappointment & expenses with no reward. Lea tells her that she will reach the result that they desperately want, just not the way that they originally planned. It’s been obvious that Lisa & Lenny want to start a family & that Lisa wants to be a mother. I’m happy for them & hope that it all works out well.
It’s finally wedding day! Joanna awakens in her suite (in a pretty staged scene considering the make-up & stretch). Her flowers arrive & are beautiful. She seems happy with the over 30,000 flowers. Lea has invited all of the ladies to the spa for facials & relaxation. Of course, she isn’t buying spa facials but plans to use her Lea Black skin care line. Adriana is the only other woman to show up. Adriana notes that the trip has been fun, but tiring. It’s a little awkward at first, but Adriana decides to bite the bullet & address the situation. She admits that she does not believe Lea leaked her marriage to the press. She seems to want to move on, but Lea is a bit hesitant. Lea refuses to just pretend like nothing happened. She says that she doesn’t want evil or cruelty in her life, implying that is what Adriana is. I don’t think Adriana is cruel, she just gets caught up in trying to project an image of a fabulous life. Lea, in her TH, says that her life would be better is she never saw Adriana again.
Joanna is so calm while getting ready. Unlike Adriana, she seems to be on time. Her mother is emotional because her first daughter is getting married. It’s been the three of them for so long & now things will change. Romain surprises Joanna in the suite & the women immediately cover his eyes while Joanna flees. Alexia is getting her hair done & tells the stylist that she misses her family. Peter calls her & asks about the trip. He tells her that he needs to have his hair trimmed – I think we see where this is going but Alexia is clueless! She is overjoyed to see Peter enter the salon. He says that he is here to take Herman’s place since he was unable to come. So sweet!!!
Everyone gathers outside for cocktails before the ceremony. The location is beautiful & the aisle across the pool worked out. The flowers & décor are very traditional white flowers. Romain walks Joanna’s mother in, exclaiming that he is not nervous. It’s great to see him so excited about beginning his new life with Joanna. The bridesmaid dresses are a pretty blue with just a little sparkle. Joanna appears in her ruffled high-low dress with a train. She looks stunning! Romain says that he feels blessed to have Joanna’s love despite his past mistakes. Joanna tears up describing her Cinderella story. They seem to truly be in love. The vows are simple & sweet with a little humor. I have to admit that I teared up a little. I love a wedding!
On to the reception! The tables are set with classic white flowers & Joanna has removed the lower portion of her skirt. Marta makes the first toast, welcoming Romain to the family. Romain is up next. He becomes very emotional when thanking his friends & family for their support. He tells the story of how Joanna & he met & immediately fell in love. The two perform a choreographed dance to get things started before everyone takes the dance floor. The season is finished on a high note!
Joanna & Romain consummated their marriage on their wedding night… but they have yet to have sex again. She says that she knows they will have struggles but that they are in love.
With no excuses left about marrying Frederic again… Adriana is ready to finally sail into the sunset with her man. If he ever finishes building that boat. She says that it’s been a long year for everyone & that they have learned a lot from it.
Alexia continues to focus on her loves: Frankie, Peter & Herman… And, of course, her new closet. She says that friendship are beautiful because of the ability to forgive & move on.
Sadly, Lisa & Lenny lost their surrogate, but their search for the right match continues… And her love for Dr. Lenny Hochstein remains stronger than ever. She says that helping the women to deal with their issues has helped her to realize how strong she is.
Lea is contemplating a run for Mayor of Miami… on the platform of cleaning the streets of its trash… until then, she will focus on her social circle. She says that she feels good to be at peace with almost everyone & loves her life.
Real Housewives of Atlanta Cast Blogs Blogged by RamonaCoaster
Nene Leakes – Kenya’s Foolishness
The Housewives of Atlanta are back! For those of you who know me, I don’t like to give long blogs or long speeches. I like to hit the points and move on, so here goes!
Thanks I really appreciate that! Blogging blogs that seem to go on forever is not fun. Nene points out the stress a bride has when planning a wedding and on top of that having it filmed for the audience adds additional stress.
I invited family, friends, business associates, and some people out of respect! Kenya fit in the respect category, because I didn’t know her well, but we were on the show together. Now whether she attended or not wasn’t important to me, but out of respect, I thought she would at least respond to me (and not on Twitter)! She responded on Twitter by saying congrats to us, which showed me she wanted the world to know she was invited and also wanted them to know she didn’t attend. The motives people have are sometimes crystal clear! Remember I told you “motives”…we will revisit this again later in the season! Wink wink.
Hmmm, I wonder what Kenya’s “motives” are. Maybe to earn her paycheck and bring drama to the show? She so far has alienated the lawyer and Porsha. She brought “coochie crotch” drama to the Bailey Agency but Cynthia made her case with Kenya’s behavior in the beginning of last season and put it to bed. I guess it is Nene’s turn to get the Kenya treatment.
As you saw, Kenya visited with Cynthia and told her she thought her “friends” would have reached out to her during her time of eviction (referring to me, Kandi, and Cynthia). Foolishness! Now you need to practice what you preach, Miss Kenya. Do onto others as you would have them do onto you! I already told you Kenya didn’t reach out to me.
You two are not “friends.” Nene is right. Kenya should not have expected a hand out or a reach out from them. She has relatives in Atlanta that would have helped her get through an eviction.
Listen I am a smart girl. When I enter a room, I can feel the energy. I knew once Kenya entered that the foolishness was about to begin, so I tried to remove myself by taking a tour of Cynthia’s new space but ended up bumping into Kenya anyway.
Good plan to avoid Kenya but too bad there was no where to hide. Kenya is going to make this into the Kenya show. It is up to you to stop her Nene!
She approached me about why Walter was invited to my wedding and why I hadn’t reached out to her during her eviction drama. So let me answer! Surely someone who claims to be a top actress, producer, and director who is selling DVDs everywhere is not evicted! Besides this was not national news. This was on a few blogs. I didn’t feel the need to reach out about gossip. Why I invited Walter is simple: I was getting married! I will repeat, I was getting married, which means I invite whoever the hell I choose!
And Nene deserves as many wedding presents as she can get. The planets revolve around the bride, not Kenya. It is funny that Kenya is still going postal over a tow truck dude that she put on the show. Walter must have really made a good impression with the house husbands/boyfriends/fiancés that he has been invited to every event. Too bad they couldn’t keep Kenya off the invitations.
My Twitter blew up and my phone just about caught on fire when Kenya grabbed my ear. I have come a long ways baby! I know when somebody wants a reaction out of me for their own purposes… Now had that been me all up in somebody’s personal space, I would be called a bully, violent, aggressive, mean, and everything else, but it’s OK for people to violate me?
I wonder what Kim thinks. Kadooz to Nene for not going crazy on Kenya’s stallion bootie when Kenya put her hand on her ear. Nene had a big earring on that I was afraid was going to get yanked out.
P.S. if you’ve got what it takes on November 13th I will hold a casting call from 4 to 7 PM. Location: Bar One, 687 Memorial Drive, Grant Park, GA 30316. We are looking for the Curvey Girl model for my upcoming clothing line. You don’t want to miss this.
Another clothing line? Well hope this one works out. I like Nene’s tastes and I think Nene understands what clothes look good on a curvy woman. I am looking forward to seeing this clothing line.
Phaedra on the “Hebrew Slave” Comment
On last night’s episode, we caught up with everyone and were able to catch a glimpse of their life. The reigning theme this season seems to be newness and celebration. NeNeand Gregg are newlyweds; Porshais a newly liberated single woman; Cynthiaand Peter have moved to a new business location; Kandi and Todd are newly engaged; and, Apollo and I have bought a new house and added a new addition to our family, our son whom we fondly call “Mr. President.”
Gee I wonder who was left out of this paragraph. Kenya doesn’t seem to be bringing anything new to the show. Just old, last season drama.
I would be remiss if I did not address the comment I made during last night’s episode about “working like a Hebrew slave,” to which I understand that some people took issue. Let me first say that the statement was not in any way meant to be derogatory or disrespectful to any culture. It is a description that is commonly used in reference to the requirement of working long, merciless hours without any end in sight.
She addresses this because some people on twitter took issue with it but some people found it funny too.
I get that we live in a culture where political correctness is expected, especially in polite company, but we also cannot divorce ourselves from our history and the references thereto that have found their way into our speech. By that I do not mean racial and cultural slurs, demeaning or degrading descriptions or other sorts of calculated and hurtful (mis)applications of language. As an African American woman and the descendant of slaves, I do not condone any form of racism or oppression. Nevertheless, I regret any discomfort my use of that description might have caused.
The phrase was not intended to hurt anyone. For a network that has Andy Cohen making his guests play games like Good for the Jews, Bad for the Jews on his talk show, this comment is tame in comparison.
While you can never be fully prepared for anything, Mr. President’s birth caught me totally off guard. He was almost a month early. Two days before he was born I shot my prenatal workout video for eight hours without a hitch. As Kandi’s fiancé, Todd Tucker, produced and directed the video, I joked about going into labor because that was his ultimate fear throughout the shoot. Unbeknownst to us, neither he nor I were that far off the mark. I actually went into labor the next day — and Todd ended up assisting me to the emergency room where my son was later born. I am very grateful to Todd and Kandi for always being supportive.
Wow! That is so nice of Todd to be there and help out when he can. It must have been scary to go into labor one month ahead of time. Well, everything turned out alright and she and Apollo have their prince and their little Mr. President.
Despite my lack of sleep, I am happy to report that I successfully completed my final exams following our son’s birth, and my new book Secrets of the Southern Belle: How to be Nice, Work Hard, Look Pretty, Have Fun, and Never Have an Off Moment is due to be released next week on November 12!
Everybody knows a housewife needs to add their memoirs to collect dust on the bookstore shelves and this housewife is no exception. Anyone going to review this?
Cynthia Bailey – The Move to Industry Studios
Yes, you heard me right when I said Peter started renting the building (he did NOT buy it like I said he did, my mistake) 6 months before he told me about it. Initially I was annoyed that he did not consult with me first, but I now understand why he did not. The reason is simple: I would have shut the idea down. I don’t like to take risks or jump into things before I fully understand how they can benefit me or my situation. Peter started renting the space with the vision that one day it would be exactly what it is today, Industry Studios.
Even though you made a mistake saying he bought it, it is still a plausible scenario in your mind that Peter could spend your money, make decisions without you and you would have no control over it. It is no wonder that Cynthia’s mother and sister had reservations about bringing the marriage certificate to the wedding. So is Peter now a real estate manager and is being paid to rent the building out to his contacts?
Kenya: I was completely surprised and caught off guard when Kenya showed up at The Bailey Agency when we were moving. Kenya and I are still in the early stages of building a friendship, and we don’t really talk on a regular basis. At the time, outside of a few random texts here and there, I had not seen or spoken to her since the reunion. Kenya had no real reason to be upset with me about not reaching out to her regarding her alleged eviction. Kenya is a smart, successful businesswoman, so I did not believe for a second that she would ever do anything to put herself in that kind of situation. Therefore, I chose not to reach out to her when I heard this rumor, because outside of working with Kenya, her personal business/issues are none of my business unless she calls me to discuss them.
Kenya is another person that thinks she can come to your place of business uninvited and start drama. I think Cynthia is making strides at not being someone that gets stepped on but she still has a long way to go. Nene and Cynthia point out that Kenya has claimed to be a successful businesswoman who sells a lot of stallion bootie exercise DVDS which doesn’t jive with being evicted. Usually, you get evicted for non-payment of rent. So is Kenya a successful businesswoman or is she lying?
Anyway, we all have a lot going on all the time, and if I want to talk to these ladies about anything that may be going on in my life, I have all of their phone numbers to call them. Otherwise, I was very happy to learn that all was well with Kenya in the end, and that she had the situation under control just as I would have expected.
Yes, Kenya can pick up the phone if she needs to talk about her troubles. Or maybe she just needs something to create drama. Pretty lame drama. But it gets them all talking about crazy Kenya.
Thank you Amy for taking on both recapping Miami and the Miami blogs! NMD
