Ramona Singer Filing for Divorce
NYDailyNews is reporting that Ramona Singer was observed filing court papers – presumably for divorce from Mario.
Ramona has made this statement after news that the couple had been engaged in an altercation after she found him in their Hampton’s home with his mistress.
Thank you all for the love & support! For my daughter’s sake, I would appreciate everyone respecting our privacy during this difficult time.

Privacy is hard to come by when you are in the public eye, and I hope she can make her way through this quickly. It makes me sad, and I wish her all the best.
Top Chef “Maui Wowie” by BB
Nina, Shirley and Nick all voted on the dish from the Last Chance Kitchen competition they thought was the best. Carlos made a Mahi dish. Louis made a Tuna dish. All three remaining chefs voted for the Tuna dish so Louis is back in the competition. He worked hard to get there by winning eight Last Chance Kitchen competitions.
Now for the Quick Fire Challenge, which will be judged by Hawaiian chef Sam Choy. The state of Hawaii is the number one per capita consumer of Spam, which the locals refer to as Hawaiian steak. The chefs will have 30 minutes to make an original dish using a Spam product. This is easy for Louis who is familiar with Spam. Nicholas admits he’s probably only tasted Spam once in his life and he’s never made a dish out of it. Shirley thinks her strongest competition will be Nina or Louis because of Nicholas’ bad track record in the Quick Fire challenges. The winner of this challenge will get $10,000. Chef Choy tells them to be creative because he is the Spam master.
There are a bunch of locals hanging around asking the chefs questions while they are cooking. Nicholas has no clue but starts out making a Spam broth. Louis will be making a Spam mousse. Nina is making Spam croquets and Shirley is making a Spam and rice dish. Chef Choy thought Nick’s broth was unique and Nina’s dish was a dozen different flavors in one bite. He thought Louis’ dish could have had a little more Spam flavor. He thought Shirley’s was incredibly tasty. Creativity was important so Nick is declared the winner. He did Spam like Chef Choy has never seen it before.
The chefs are shocked to learn that two people will be going home in the elimination challenge and only two chefs will be going to the finale. For the elimination challenge, the chefs must get their ingredients, known locally as canoe crops, from an outrigger canoe located at the shore line. They will be serving at a party the next night. I think it’s funny that Nina can’t think of the name for what the guys on the outrigger canoe are wearing. She calls them thongs. I call them loincloths. Anyway, they have one hour to prep that day and two hours to finish their dishes the next day.
Louis picks a fish he’s never before prepared. Nina thinks she got one type of fish, but finds out it’s not what she thought. Louis and Nina are both using the same type of fish. Shirley is the only one doing a pork dish. Nicholas also picked a fish, but not the same type as Nina and Louis. Louis seems calm. The others seem a little more stressed. After the prep work is done, the chefs go to a nice hotel suite where Nicholas gets the nice beach front room, the women get the room with the two double beds and poor Louis gets the pull out bed. Shirley says to Louis, “Congratulations Top Chef Kitchen.”
The next day, the chefs are finalizing their meals outdoors and it starts raining about 30 minutes before their time is up. They scramble to make sure the rain and wind don’t affect their dishes. Luckily the rain shower doesn’t last very long. It’s meal time.
The judges try Louis’ dish first. He made Grilled Opah with Sweet Potato and Coconut Sauce. Chef Choy’s fish is cooked perfectly. Tom’s is a little undercooked. There is some inconsistency in how each fish portion is cooked. Nina also made Grilled Opah, but hers was paired with Taro Root and Coconut Puree. Tom thinks Nina’s sauce may be a little too spicy but the fish is cooked perfectly. Gail thinks Nina’s dish is excellent. Nick made Opakapaka with Jalapeno and Crispy Chicken Skin. Other than one person thinking the Jalapeno is a little much, everyone likes Nicholas’ dish. They remark that he seems more relaxed since he’s been in Hawaii. Shirley made a Honey-Glazed Pork with Sweet Potato and Tumeric Puree. The complaint about Shirley’s dish is that it’s a little too sweet, although Emeril says the pork is perfectly cooked.
The judging is close as always when you have really good chefs left in the competition. When the chefs come before the judging table, the judges all comment about the sweetness of Shirley’s dish although you can tell Emeril is pulling for her. They comment on the inconsistencies of Louis’ dish even though he took the most risks with his dish. Padma tells Nina some of the diners may have been turned off by her dish being too spicy, but Gail seems to be pulling for Nina by saying it was bold. Tom points out that Nick seems more confident about his cooking than he has been all season and he managed to balance out his dish without overthinking it. It seems Nick may be peaking at the right time since he won the Quick Fire and seems to have done well on this challenge.
When the judges are alone, Gail thinks Louis had more pressure on him than the others, even though there were some inconsistencies in his fish. Emeril thinks Nick finally thought about all the components of his dish and executed it flawlessly. Tom liked Shirley’s dish but really thinks she made a mistake using honey to glaze the pork. They talk about Nina’s sauce being a little too overpowering for her fish, although her fish was cooked perfectly. So who goes and who stays?
When the chefs come back, Emeril announces Nick as the winner of the challenge so he’s automatically in the finale. The first chef to be eliminated is Louis. He’s really disappointed that his son won’t get to see him named top chef. It’s down to the two women. Padma seems really sad to tell Shirley to pack her knives and go. Congratulations to Nina and Nick. They are in the finale. It was really hard to see Louis and especially Shirley go, but it all comes down to the food in the end.
In the previews for next week, we hear Padma, who by the way is wearing a skimpy red bikini in the episode, say it’s the closest finale she’s ever experienced. Wow.
