Heather Dubrow – Heather Wonders If Everyone’s Ganging Up on Her
Heather’s blog from episode 7 went up last Friday, so here’s a quick recap. She thought the photo shoot scenes were hilarious. Hers were not for holiday cards, but just for the family. She enjoyed spending time with Lizzie & her son at the park. “It was hard to give Lizzy advice about Vicki and their conflict when I’m obviously not handling my friend conflict very well!” She comments on her conversation with Shannon. “She spoke for a long time and told me how she felt and how I made her feel, I told her how I felt as well. I think what I couldn’t verbalize at that time was that I felt unsettled and left out.” It doesn’t matter how long she’d known Shannon, Heather was the one who introduced her to the group, so I understand that she felt left out when the other girls instantly bonded with Shannon. “Shannon had invited Tamra and Vicki to a football game, they had all gone up to L.A. together another time for dinner (I saw the pictures on social media), I was not included in the makeup party and they all had dinner together with their significant others the night of the hoedown (Terry and I ran into them) to name a few.” She was glad that they sat down & ironed out their problems. Heather though that they would talk to each other instead of the other girls in the future.
Shannon Beador – Shannon Has Yet Another Issue With Heather
Shannon begins by describing the décor & food from her party. Whatever. I’m over Shannon pretending like she’s down to earth, then saying she doesn’t have a budget. On to her issue with Heather (which was actually Tamra’s issue that Shannon inserted herself into). “When Tamra, Lizzie, Danielle and I were sitting in my living room, Tamra announced that she was “feeling uncomfortable.” At this point, I have had numerous conversations with Tamra about her feeling that Heather “talks down to her.” Although I probably heightened some of the drama by pushing Tamra to tell the truth, I wanted her to be honest about how she felt.” She didn’t push Tamra to tell the truth! Shannon was ready to be nice to Heather’s face after they all sat there talking behind her back. Lizzie was the one who forced the conversation! As for Heather talking “down” to people, I think she’s just classier than Tamra & Tamra can’t quite understand someone who doesn’t pepper their sentences with cursing & sex talk.
“I was very taken aback that Heather asked Tamra to “pick a side” between the two of us. I have never and would never put a friend in that position. It was frustrating that just 24 hours after my meeting with Heather, there was yet another issue with her.” Actually, didn’t Heather make that alleged comment before the meeting? This was Tamra refusing to let Shannon & Heather move forward. What good did it do to bring up something from the past? None! “When Heather walked into the living room, I could not believe that Lizzie decided to bring up Tamra and my issues with Heather in a group setting. It was not any of her business and she definitely stirred the pot.” I thought it was great that Lizzie told Heather what was going on, rather than allow Heather’s “friends” to talk behind her back. If a group setting wasn’t the place to discuss their issues, Shannon & Tamra should have kept their mouths shut!
“I did not know Heather or Tamra when the Good Day L.A. issue came about. The facts as to what took place between Heather and Tamra are irrelevant to me because it happened in the past and I wasn’t part of it.” Ugh! Then why did you point your two cents in when Tamra brought it up? “What upset me on this night was the tone in which Heather was speaking to Tamra, almost scolding her. I had to say something.” It was none of Shannon’s business! Tamra wasn’t doing a very good job defending herself, but that’s Tamra’s problem.
Lizzie Rovsek – Lizzie Put Her Foot in Her Mouth
“Let’s just jump right into the good stuff, shall we? The first thing that comes to mind watching this episode is: open mouth, insert foot. First off, let me say that when we were all talking in the living room sans Heather and Vicki, it was agreed that we were going to get Heather so the girls could talk out their problem.” Lizzie understands why Tamra’s feelings were hurt, but thinks “it’s time to put the past in the past and live in the present.”
Lizzie does think that Tamra should have appreciated Heather promoting her business. “Heather and Vicki came back in the room and we were waiting for Tamra to address the issue, but that didn’t happen. It was like she was never upset and we were talking about the weather; ho hum… Heather was in the house at the party. I don’t agree with everyone talking about her behind her back while she is one room over.” Lizzie didn’t know that Heather was under the impression that the problem had been discussed & resolved. Good for her to point out what was behind the obviously uncomfortable silence when Heather walked in. “What an idiot I must be to think that was a good idea. I have to say, the reaction from Tamra in her confessional seemed way harsh and unnecessarily abrasive. I didn’t understand Shannon’s response either. Why was Shannon so upset? I thought Heather and Shannon were in a better place since their lunch.” Exactly! Tamra over-reacted when Heather told her side of the story & Shannon needed to mind her own business. Lizzie also notes that things seem to be blown out of proportion in this group. I would say that things get blown out of proportion when Shannon is involved, but that’s just me.
“I thought it was cute to see all the guys hanging out and having fun.” I thought it was cute too, until David started trashing Shannon. That was creepy in front of his daughter & uncalled for. Lizzie didn’t take him too seriously. “I think it’s a guys joke. Girls are expensive and emotional, (along with many other amazing qualities) but I can see the humor.”
Heather Dubrow – Heather Explains the ‘Good Day L.A.’ Situation
“I have been a guest on Good Day L.A. many times over the last 15 years.” Heather explains that she was asked to fill in as a co-host several times over last summer. “They brought people on the show that I would be comfortable with (as they usually do with guest hosts) so I could knock it out of the park.” Fabio Viviani, a chef friend & potential business partner, David Heil, clothier & family friend, & “a fitness studio that I frequented, who had also been on the show before, and that the producer has a close relationship with the fitness studio’s PR person” were called by Good Day L.A.
Heather tells us that she immediately worried when she heard that the fitness studio would be on the show. “I didn’t want to be disloyal to Tamra or upset her in any way. However, this was a big deal for me and I wasn’t going to lose the opportunity. I assumed that honesty is the best policy and I called Tamra. I told her “This will look weird. These are people in my world and you will think this was my doing, but it’s not.” She was cool, until she saw the segment. Then she got very upset and I honestly didn’t know how to react.” Heather’s only other option was to turn down the job, which Terry recommended, but Heather didn’t want to turn down an offer. She appeared several times & was eventually asked to appear on a more frequent basis. “When they asked me to be there on a more frequent basis, they encouraged me to pitch segments that I thought would work for me on the show. Of course I pitched Terry, and then I pitched CUT Fitness. NOT because I thought I owed Tamra anything, or I had been disloyal in any way. I pitched CUT because Tamra is my friend and I wanted to promote her business.” She also pitched segments that weren’t selected. IMO, Heather didn’t do anything wrong. She was asked to appear on a show, but didn’t have any say over the guests. Should she really turn down a job because Tamra’s new studio wasn’t featured? I don’t think so. I also find it odd that Tamra was pissed about the Good Day L.A. thing, but she wasn’t pissed that Heather works out somewhere else.
On to the party! “I was really disappointed to see Shannon pull Tamra aside as soon as she got to the party and start taking about our lunch in such a negative way. Didn’t we just agree to move on and not include the other ladies?” I agree. Shannon was just trying to keep the pot stirred & remain relevant. She has no other story line. Heather was confused as to why Shannon invited her to the party if Shannon didn’t like her & thought she was liar. “When I arrived at Shannon’s party I was happy and so excited to pull Tamra and Eddie aside and tell them I had successfully pitched a segment for them.” Tamra should have appreciated that, once Heather was given the opportunity to pitch ideas, she pitched Tamra’s studio. But, of course, Tamra has to hang on to past “hurts.” “Tamra is entitled to her feelings, I just wish she hadn’t included the rest of the girls. Once again I feel like I’m being talked about and having to come in and defend myself. It’s getting exhausting.” Tamra had no business running to the girls to talk badly about Heather, especially when she just gave Heather the impression that she was over it.
Heather doesn’t think Shannon brought up their issues at the right time. “First of all, Shannon and I agreed we should discuss problems right away so they wouldn’t fester and become bigger issues and also so we could speak to each other without involving the other ladies.” Shannon should have kept her mouth shut & spoken to Heather without involving everyone else. Heather explains her comments to Tamra. “I think she is referring to a comment I made to Tamra that when she and I are alone we are friends and it’s good — as soon as we are around the other ladies, particularly Shannon, I didn’t think Tamra was very nice to me. What I was saying is pick a lane. Be my friend at all times, or not at all. Certainly not to choose between me and Shannon.” I can understand that. Tamra seems to keep stirring the pot to keep the Heather/Shannon feud going. Finally, she lets us know that the phone call wasn’t fake. Personally, I don’t care if it was. I’d fake a phone call to get away from those ladies!
Tamra Barney – Tamra’s Take on ‘Good Day L.A.’
“Let me tell you why I was so upset since you did not hear the whole story.” I’m not convinced we’re getting the whole story from Tamra either, but I’ll go with it. “Last summer I got a text from Heather saying she was going to co-host GDLA and wanted me to know that GDLA was bringing on another fitness studio and she had NOTHING to do with it. I said “No worries” and thanked her for letting me know.” That part matches up. “A week later I see the segment on GDLA and they have the fitness studio SHE works out at (50 miles away from GDLA studio), HER chef and HER clothier on the same segment. So I thought to myself, “REALLY, Heather, you had NO input, however all the guests were people you deal with directly?” My feelings were hurt!” Ok, so Tamra jumped to conclusions based upon the guests. Still no evidence that Heather had anything to do with it. I can understand that the producers would choose guests that Heather already has in her life. If they were using “HER chef and HER clothier,” why would they include Tamra’s gym (that Heather doesn’t use) rather than “HER gym”?
“I emailed her and explained that I had a hard time believing that she had NO input since she had a close connection to everyone of the guests.” Tamra says that she was upset because Terry told her that “he told her NOT to bring that other fitness studio on the show.” Hmm, I think she may be paraphrasing & reading something into his text that wasn’t actually there. “If Heather would have never called me and told me that she had “nothing to do with it” I probably wouldn’t have been so upset.” Does anyone believe that? Tamra says that she’s upset because she thinks Heather lied, not because Heather had another studio on the show. She goes on about how friends support each other & that she would never bring a friend’s competitor on a show. She’s still running with her assumption that Heather chose the guests.
“I was clearly upset and letting my emotions take over, and talking about it to the other ladies was not a good idea. I feel bad and I admit it was a stupid move on my part. However, I am not sure what Lizzie got out of bringing it up? Clearly she wanted to cause unnecessary drama.” Umm, maybe Lizzie just doesn’t like all of the back-stabbing that is going on? Tamra was the one who shared her issues with the whole group. “In the end GDLA called me and asked me if I would like to bring on CUT Fitness to do a segment, with Heather’s help. I am very thankful for the opportunity that I was given but sad that we had to go through all the drama to get there. I now believe Heather was being honest with me and I hope you understand why I questioned her.” Nope, don’t understand why you didn’t just believe your friend when she tried to explain.
Now, gets to her son. “I knew very little about HGH but what I did know is that you needed a prescription from a doctor to take it. HGH is not an anabolic steroid, however I had many concerns about Ryan taking it due to his past complications with steroid use eight years prior.” Just because it’s not a steroid doesn’t mean it’s safe, regardless of history. There’s a reason that it’s prescribed instead of over-the-counter! “Ryan had been buying HGH out of the parking lot of his gym he worked out at (not CUT Fitness — we are not a that kind of gym, we are a group fitness studio).” I sure hope so! Tamra says that if she had lectured Ryan, he wouldn’t have agreed to see the doctor. Apparently even Tamra sees that her son has no respect for her opinions or advice. “I knew what he was doing to his body was not safe but had NO idea his health was so bad. His iron levels were so high and that was NOT from HGH. The doctor told him that he might be dealing with Hepatitis C or a genetic blood disorder called hemochromatosis.” We’ll see what happens when he goes off of the HGH.
Nothing from Vicki this week, probably because she was on the sidelines for this episode.
