Lynnfam Exclusive: Lisa Vanderpump’s Appearance at BJ’s for LVP Sangria – Fuschia Faux Fur and Time for Everyone
Ok so here is “Chismosa”‘s review of the (QUEEN) Lisa Vanderpump appearance and signing for her sangria.
I was alone as my dumb friends couldn’t make it. [I’m having issues that go farther back so yeah, they’re dumb!] I got there late, and the line was going out the door. There were like 5 security guards (???) – maybe from the liquor store ?
The line wrapped around the store– but the store is not that huge It was not INSIDE BJ’s – Diva was right- it’s a small liquor store next to it.
All the women around me were straining our necks to find Lisa and we were so excited.
Some more people came and then it seemed the line was going to go outside and it would be far too late – so the doors seemed to shut. It was about 30 degrees out ! And when we spotted Lisa- I saw a super bright fuschia pink fur coat folded over her chair. Like it was literally burning my retina. Then Lisa put it on, and at one point she said to the crowd “well I didn’t bring Giggy so this will do” or something like that — I’m paraphrasing, I wasn’t that close. It was cute.
We were all chatting because I was on line for maybe 45 minutes. Everyone was worried we wouldn’t meet or see her. Some people near me sent their cameras forward with the liquor guys working there to just take Lisa’s picture ! Lol They did eventually reassure us that we would all for sure get to Lisa.
Some of you may know I used to work for trade book publishing – and worked many author events — my theory – is that Lisa had explicitly told her publicists and agents and her liquor “rep” that she didn’t want to RUSH everyone and wanted to truly get to everyone. It’s just a feeling I get. (There was a liquor guy there who spoke to us, he said he oversaw it all or something). I’ve been to m-a-n-y other events where you are RUSHED and a mandate is put down that you “can’t talk too long” or, “your name is not being personalized” — most only sign their name and that’s it. Lisa signed everything and personalized it. (She’s left handed !) Her diamond was BLINDING.
I spoke to the other women on line who had gone to see Teresa …… – no words spoken by her, very rushed. Others they went to see I forget, too much in my head- but everyone is as most “”celebs”” are >>> not prone to sitting and chatting with each guest. I think Lisa put a kibosh on rushing people. This is just a personal theory I have. Most people signing also a) don’t personalize with your name or b) have ‘post its’ handed out to people on line to put your name ready in the book (or whatever) so the signer can just quickly get through it. Based on how long we waited to just move 3 feet at a time, Lisa must have truly spoken and listened and posed with every single person.
As we got closer we saw Pandora and Jason working fiercely at the table— lining where Lisa was at the end of. There were all these clear glass (or plastic?) vases laid out with tons of ice and berries and strawberries – all holding the two varieties of the sangria. Jason was busy ! He was filling each cup with ice and berries and passing them along to everyone on line to try out. This was a tasting after all.
Many people posed with Pandora and Jason. They were so kind and totally open to posing and Pandy chatted up anyone around who wanted to talk. I mentioned to her my idea for “Pandy’s Brandy” and she was liking it but said maybe without the name “Brandy” in it. HA
I told her how much I found her family so lovely and just warm and overall awesome. I used better words than that and she was like “keep talking… Wink wink”
She spoke at length to someone near me about the anti-bullying work she’d done ?
She was so so beautiful. Watching WWH Monday and seeing her, Jason, & Lisa in person – the camera truly adds about 10 pounds. She looked much thinner – but not superstar anorexic. Gorgeous legs! Jason seemed very nice, totally warm to everyone- he basically did all the ice and berrying of the cups and handed them out. Great host.
I mentioned in a low voice to Pandora – about this “blog” – not sure if she had heard about it – but there are so many blogs out now. So I said that this one was one of the big blogs out there with housewives. One of the initial ‘important’ ones (if not “the”)…. How many of us adore her family but that there were some dissenters and she joked about that but I said no it’s a great wonderful place where we all chat HWs all the time. She told me to send her the blog.
Finally!…Lisa ! She looked busy, a bit overwhelmed, writing everyone’s name personally on every single bottle – and I saw people walking out with cases (!)
Her hair was down, straight, you can see in the photos. Her face— just everyone (>50) talked about how they all wanted the work she’s had done. So tasteful! Gorgeous. When I got to her I mentioned something I had tweeted to her so she could maybe get who I was — and then I did mention this blog that I am sort of “representing” and mentioned Lynn’s name, etc. She didn’t seem to know it- but she gives a good poker face and I don’t know…..
I told her we loved her, blah blah, especially our poster named JILL.
So we quickly took pics because I just felt so bad it was like 25 degrees and she was staying so long for everyone so kindly. So I just told her I loved her, yada yada. She never rushed me. Never. The woman after me- who I became friendly with on the line then started talking to her and there was a break so I just had to ask if her coat was chinchilla (like JLO, soooooooo not PC, but one of the most expensive furs) or mink – and she was like – “it’s FAUX! yes, touch it”— she told me the designer. Michael something. She was open and just all around what you’d expect. Welcoming, fun, witty.
Leaving– I was gossiping with some of the younger gals that were leaving with their mom and they were on line with me and they were like “yeah but doesn’t she HAVE to say it’s faux? Right?” And I suppose that’s true. However if you have furs pre— a certain time period I think it’s a little bit socially acceptable. Like, my mother has furs from the ’60s/’70s and you best believe I’m not throwing that stuff away.
Those girls gossiped with me the whole time about the other HWs — events they went to. Teresa – doesn’t talk much, not overly overly nice. They went to Villa Blanca- it’s gorgeous but the food was meh. They went to Kyle’s store and Kyle was super nice. Ramona is whack. 😦 And this juicy tidbit. The girl told me her uncle or teacher or someone – I forget -grew up with Bethenny in the Long Island town she grew up — it’s about 15 minutes from this place of the signing– and I know the town because about 1/4 of my graduating high school class lived there. Apparently Bethenny got into PHYSICAL brawls with girls on the actual streets. Like, Porsha style. Maybe that’s why Beth never really got into that whole Porsha discussion too much…. I have to do some digging. LOLOLOL. Loved hearing that.
She grew up by wolves, though she is known to have grown in a very upper middle class lovely town, not lacking, and I know because she even mentioned it during one of her first ever WWHL with Andy. And we discussed how she had her sweet 16 on the water – super nice too. I just loved that tidbit. It was good to gossip. These people were from that general area, so the local gossip’s good.
This is all I’ve got. I’m sorry if I rambled, my problem with my college theses was always EDITING down LOL!
Catch you all later to discuss BH!
Survivor: San Juan del Sur
S29E9 “Gettin’ to Crunch Time”
10 are left…Back at camp Keith calls out Jon & Jaclyn for leading his alliance on and then voting out Josh. Keith, Wes, Reed and Alec have done the math and know they are the minority. I like Keith. He knows it’s not personal, and he thinks outside the box. He speculates if he annoys the majority, draws their votes, and plays his idol, his group has a shot at voting out one of the members of the other alliance.
For the Reward Challenge everyone splits into two teams. 1 vs 1 they will face off on a shaky board. Last one on the board wins a point for their team. First team to 5 wins reward. It starts to rain and makes this challenge a big mud pit! they play to a 4 – 4 tie and Misty and Baylor are up. Baylor wins. Reward is an ocean cruise and food and cocktails. The winning team is Baylor, Jeremy, Reed, Alex and Natalie. Natalie gives her spot to Jon. Jeremy gives his spot to Jaclyn. And they vote Jeremy to Exile.
The reasoning is that Jeremy will be able to look for the idol at Exile… but we all know that Jon has that idol. Wah-Wah. So that didn’t work out so well. Jeremy spends two nights on Exile and concludes that Jon found the idol and didn’t tell anyone.
For the Immunity Challenge, they will unspool a rope, dropping 21 blocks into a basket. First to put the puzzle together and place a flag in the middle of the puzzle wins immunity. They can only use their feet the do the challenge – a Survivor first. The puzzle is a stacked 3 tier, circle on a disk with a flag in the middle. It’s close, but Baylor wins immunity.
Reed goes rouge and goes through Keith’s bag and finds the paper that gives the clue to the immunity idol. He goes to Missy and Baylor and rats out Keith and his idol. He promises that he will vote with Missy and Baylor, just tell him who to vote for, and he lives to fight another day.
Keith discovers the paper is missing from his bag and knows that the element of surprise of his having an idol is blown. He and Wes know they are vulnerable.
Jeremy and Natalie are sure that Jon has an idol but Jon is sticking to his story that he doesn’t have it. And then Jon goes directly to Missy and confesses he has an idol, and doesn’t trust Jeremy and would like him voted out.
At tribal, Jeremy says that to him trust is huge at this point – trust in your alliance. He says Exile was brutal this time around. Jeff asks if there has been any talk of idols because it is day 24 and no idol has been played (we know Rocker had one in his pocket when he left). Jon says he is extremely confident someone has an idol. I was glad to see Jon couldn’t keep a straight face when he said that. And Reed is generally loving all the petty arguments that break out between Wes and Jaclyn and Keith and Jon and Natalie … I think Natalie was just throwing shade on Jon. Anyway… Jeremy is out! And I think the reason was they saw their chance, he was too big a threat, and boom.
Next week is Thanksgiving Eve and I’m going to be in Orlando and not near a computer. I haven’t been able to find out if there is a Survivor that night… but I won’t be near a computer until Sunday. I’m hoping they are airing Thanksgivingy shows and will let you guys know when I find out!
